Dragonriders of Pern: Dragonrider/Gatekeeper interaction and rules..... Pernese culture is mostly cut off from the gatekeepers. Only a few Pernese other than the dragonriders have the resources to get to Daijuma hold or Niihama Weyr on their own. This is to prevent "gatekeeper customs" and "gatekeeper mentality" from overpowering the Pernese's societal structure and culture. A good example of why this rift is maintained is because the Pernese have no religion and beyond the harper ballads singing the praises of days old they have no concept of an afterlife. In contrast Gatekeepers believe that all sentient beings are an expression of the divine, and that all Gatekeepers are the reincarnations of gods and goddesses extinct in days past. While gatekeepers typically keep pokemon as pets or familiars, it is considered "bad manners" to allow one's flying pokemon to join in on a threadfall unless there is a danger to human life. However, fire and water pokemon as well as pokemon that know "Ice" or "beam" attacks and the technique "acid" are more than welcome on groundcrew. This comes from a custom in the Karakura/Soul Society/Hueco Mundo universe made popular in Bleach, wherin its considered rude to cut into another person's battle. Unlike the other Weyrs, Gatekeepers can 'request' the assistance of a dragonrider for large projects and movements in exchange for a 'tithe' of everything from goods to credits to food or items unique to a world. A gatekeeper unit is also responsible for providing shelter, food and oil to the dragon and his rider. They are responsible for the aftermath if an outsider who shouldn't sees a dragon. And they are responsible if a dragon comes to any harm on the mission. However, there are specific rules that a Gatekeeper must follow if they ask for a dragonrider's aid. They can only request a Niihama Weyr dragon, and the Weyr chooses who is sent, not the gatekeeper. The document detailing these rules is called the Aka Pact, from the Japanese word for 'Red.' As in the red star. Gatekeeper dragonriders choose a "Title" for their dragon based on that dragon's physical markings and the exact shade of the dragon's hide. Examples include..... Frosted Caramel Brown Piskerath (belonging to W2-1 Aoriya) Curious and Clever Moodly blue Ryukith (belonging to Delynni) Tribal Drumbeat Bronze Shizarith (belonging to WL J'aiya) These are as much badges of pride to the riders who come up with them as symbols that they are part of something with a much broader scope than a traditional Weyr. Green and gold dragons are 'discouraged' from going some places, and in most are only allowed to leave Pern if they are in no danger of going proddy. A misfired flight is deemed disruptive for societies that do not 'believe' in the existance of things like dragons or telepathy that would be influenced by the sudden chaos that some people and species respond to mating flights with. Members of Niihama Weyr are given special add ons to their straps, designed by the famed Shinigami scientist Kisuke Urahara. Because there is no watch dragonrider at many of the locations given, there is no readily available between coordinates for a dragon to get off world. A touch computer interface is added to the rider end of the straps. The computer uses local satilite feed and special calculations to create between coordinates for rider and dragon. These calculations can also be tweaked if "Timing" becomes neccesary for a jump of up to 25 turns. Any longer is deemed unsafe and so beyond 25 turns mutliple jumps are necessary. And to the chest part of the fighting straps is a 'personal gatekey' for the dragon's use. This is because some places that gatekeepers go they can only access with their gatekey, and to use one a dragon would have to carry it in their mouths or front paws, an arrangement especially unwieldy for creatures easily the size of an earth airplane. The key also has a "microphone" with which the dragon can amplify their mindvoice if need be, eliminating the need for a human with HAD (hear all dragons) like Lessa or Brekke to 'translate' their messages in an emergency. However use of the "Mike" is restricted for the utmost emergency when a dragon needs to send warning messages to large numbers of people. Niihama Weyr On a steller blue field, a red shrine gate with a dragon of the individual rider's color flying through. Niihama Weyr sits at the head of a steeply walled valley. The weyrs are carved out of its slopes, and the living caves that would normally be in the slopes of the Weyr bowl, are instead built as stone and metal buildings that spread through the valley in wings before ending in the Weyr proper at the far end of the valley. There is a common system of tunnels in the walls of the Weyr that connect all the wings and even the hatching grounds and candidate/weyrling quarters in the event of a threadfall, hurricane or other storm or natural disaster. The Weyr proper at the far end of the valley faces the same river on which Daijuma Hold is located and the Weyr isn't very far by boat from the rest of the gatekeeper Hold/Hall/Weyr area. The proper is where the Weyr musters for threadfall and is also the location of the dragon infirmary where injuries are handled. Because Gatekeepers are more technologically advanced than your run of the mill Pernese they have recreated the Finger/Eye rocks that form a traditional Star Stones, with one addition. The names of every dragon and rider in the Weyr are carved in the stone of the stones and around the stones. Dragon color is omitted from the display in a symbollic gesture, evidenced by the carvied words. "All are equal in the eyes of eternity." The wings and flights of Niihama Weyr have "Crafthall Embeds" an elite corps of Journeyman and masters of various grades that act as advisors and consultants in the event of danger. Each Wing has an embedded journeyman or master of each craft. These are treated as individual postings and are seperate from the Weyr's crafters. The hatching grounds are located at the head of the valley, inside a yawning opening in the caves. The queen weyrs are on the western side of the Weyr valley next to the hatching grounds, so that they can see Rukbat rising in the morning. This is symbolic for the gatekeepers as well, the Queens Weyrs facing the east are in honor of the Queen of the Sun, Amataratsu. Across from the Queen's weyrs are the candidate and Weyrling barracks and training facilities, and above them are the administrative Weyrs, for the Weyr's leadership staff. The Weyr lake is a pristine feature, no deeper than six feet at any point, and is at the South end of the "First Courtyard" where the Weyrlings and candidates can access it easily. Riders of Niihama Weyr do things a little differently than their Northern or Southern cousins. First off Niihama Weyr has four flights and a Weyrling/Queen wing, Phoenix, Tiger, Turtle and Dragon flight. Each Flight is broken into three wings, each with a name, and in addition to threadfall Wing specialty is assigned by Flight rather than by wing. Kyuubi wing is the Queen/Weyrling wing, and flies low level thread protection. Phoenix Flight's specialty is Diplomacy and Liason. Their job is to work in concert with the Queen/Weyrling wing to negotiate and represent the Weyr to the rest of the planet and to the Gatekeepers. They handle litigation as well, acting as the old Internal Affairs police squads did. If you abuse the rights of those living within Niihama Weyr or the graces they grant you by sending their riders to help a gatekeeper then you will soon hear from Phoenix Flight's officers. Phoenix Flight is seperate from the Leadership of the Weyr, feeling that impartiality can best be reached if the Leadership is not involved in their mediation. Turtle Flight is responsible for transport. They bring everything in the area where it needs to go. They are in charge of moving people and goods into and out of the Niihama Coverage area. This is important as very few Pernese can get to the Gatekeeper hold without them. They are also in charge of enforcing restrictions on transport. If such and such a hold has an embargo on it, blocking them off from trade, or if a neighboring hold has a quarantine on it, Turtle Flight is in charge of making sure that trade embargo or quarantine is maintained. Tiger Flight is responsible for Search and Rescue, if a natural disaster occurs other than thread its their job to respond. In addition if a threadfall causes a large amount of damage to an area in Niihama Weyr's patrol zone they are in charge of cleanup. They also work with turtle flight in planning evacuations if such are necessary and are also "Emergency Ambulence" transport if the healers at Daijuma Hold/Niihama Weyr/Kusanagi United crafthall need them. The members of Tiger Flight learn from the Sea and Dolphincraft, the minecraft, the healer craft and others how to respond to what kind of danger, and because of this they have more Embedded Crafters than any other Wing. There are also three wherhandlers trained specifically for underground emergencies embedded at Niihama Weyr at all times, one of these is for Tiger Flight. Dragon Flight is responsible for security and administration. This is the Weyrleader's flight. The Weyrleader and two Weyrseconds lead the individual wings. Dragon Flight is the people you go to if there's a renegade attack, or a shadow outbreak, or a hollow swarm or other 'humanly triggered' or 'human related' attack to the Weyr or its beholden areas. They also act as security for hire if a gatekeeper needs their assistance in a matter of law enforcement. While Dragonflight has the usual number of Craft Embeds it also has a Harper Master chosen personally by and accountable only to Master Robinton as well as two Harper Journeymen. All three skilled in negotiation and arbitration as well as the basic functions of gatekeeper law. Theirs is the job of striking balence between that which is "Pern" and that which is "Gatekeeper" |

Takato's origins - Digimon Tamers Takato is the first in a long line of goggle boys. But his story is pretty sad after Digimon Tamers ends. An evil digimon who resented humans and the growing kinship between worlds, attacked the bakery while Takato was in school. Takato's fame as the leader of the digimon tamers had made his loved ones a potential political target. Takato found his parents dead and Guilmon badly injured. Takato had been discovered by Yamaki, who alerted the gatekeepers to the deaths of his parents and that foster care was about to steal a candidate with a lot of potential out from under their noses. The gatekeepers responded by bringing Takato immediately to Watari house, but at the time Guilmon was at his hiding place in the stone shed in the park that he and the other digimon used as a shelter in the real world. Out of the Tamers only Ruki (Rika) knew that Takato was still alive, because when Yamaki came to tap Takato she insisted on coming along. However, Takato was believed dead, or simply just missing. His body never recovered. Takato discovered this because when his mandatory year and a day had been up he went back for Guilmon. He promised he'd find a way for Guilmon to come with him, but unfortunately he was given an assignment that took him away again. Yamaki promised to take care of Guilmon. One thing lead to another and after a few years Takato finally confronted the then Astralgator begging for permission for Guilmon to travel with him. Avara, of the "Vela" administration vehemently refused. The circumstances of Guilmon's birth contributed to her decision. Takato had created a soul, whether he meant to or not. The astralgator after Avara, Darella of the "Eridanus" administration had an unexpected bias that caused her to deny Takato's appeal of Avara's denial. Darella was a digidestined as well, of the generation /after/ Takato's. She knew her digimon A woman after Ruki's heart, she was not known for her mercy or her fairness. In fact, her Hawkmon was the only being she was truely nice to, but her prowess as a digidestined was famous, she had eight of the eleven digieggs and her partner knew how to use them. The sign on Guilmon's chest, which granted him the power of "Digital Hazard" made her refuse him passage. The power of digital hazard could tear a gaping hole in the multiverse if accidentally let loose, and Guilmon's naivety she considered a danger instead of a charm. Her concern was that he'd accidentally let it off and destroy a few worlds in the process, especially because he had come close to using it inadvertantly as the evil digimon Megidramon. http://digimon.wikia.com/wiki/Digital_Hazard The reason for their bias was the other promanent digimon who had the power of digital hazard was Lucemon, the "Satan" of the digital world. Also, his 'evil ultimate' form, equivalent to Skull greymon in Agumon, was named after the ancient battlefield Har Megiddo, from which we get the name Armageddon. Guilmon was considered a threat to the balence of worlds, because the power Takato had thought was "Cool" when accidentally creating such an unstable digimon could destroy at least one dimension, more likely two or three, if unleashed. Takato grew up, got married, had Gwen, and his family life kept him away from Guilmon until his death. Meanwhile the Tamers went to pieces. A sense of apathy and disgust and wasted effort took over the digimon tamers. Jenryaa (Henry) had fallen in love with Takato and mourned his death, taking over the leadership of the team. Ruki kept her silence, and truely the only tamers who flourished over the years were the three young ones, Shuichon and Lopmon, Makoto Ai and Beezlemon. In the end Feralae was the one to allow Guilmon travel with his Takato, even if it meant he could do so in death. She believed that her predescesors had gravely and unjustly upheld the ban on Takato traveling. Since Takato was related to Gwen, the guardian of 'her' ZP, she called Tamer and Digimon personally to her study to explain what happened and apologize. The Tamers did not have a happy ending. And when Takato shows up in my fic (points to the section) Jenryaa's bitterness to Takato came out full force. And the one time Jenryaa did tell Takato how he felt, Takato said that if things had gone differently when he was younger, it they could have been, and that if Takato were alive, he'd get together with Jenryaa. But Takato would have to leave at the end of the mission, going back to the Soul Society and this time to stay. He promised Jenryaa he'd come to Konso him and Ruki and the others and come get the digimon as well. By the time of Future Jenryaa and the other tamers lead the northern settlement in the soul society. Just as Gwen's friends inhabit the Rukon, so Takato's friends from the digital world inhabit the North. Takato's zanpakuto Uzume no Warai - Laughter of Uzume The release command is "Throb" as in the distant sound of a throbbing drum. The blade elongates into a Dane ax on one end, and a scythe blade, as in the scythe blade of a reaper. The scythe blade is the influence of the D-reaper. Which Takato fought as a child pre tapping. http://digimon.wikia.com/wiki/D-Reaper A danish Ax is a long bladed weapon capable of piercing armor. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danish_axe |

I was wondering if you wouldn't mind taking a peek at an rp idea I had. We could do it all under the NCIS rp, simply change the title. It would be shortly after our NCIS Thing. A matter of maybe two weeks after Gwen and ZP go home. I was wondering if you could look at it and decide whether you wanted. Since I'm such a big fan of cop shows, I was thinking that Aizen finally reaches the Continental United States of the Inter and begins raiding cities in search of hollows, supplies and technology. My idea was kind of like the digimon world tour saga of Digimon season 2. My thoughts are that being the mediator and "Bond builder" that she is, Feralae wouldn't miss a single chance to turn an attack on the inter into an occasion to make allies among certain Law Enforcement Agencies. So Aizen's Hollows appear in all my favorite cop show cities, New York (Law and Order SVU), Oklahoma City (Saving Grace), Miami (CSI Miami), Alberquerque (In Plain Sight), Los Angeles (The Closer). Feralae rallies her most trusted Gatekeepers because she believes that Aizen and the Dianic Star might be planning a one time alliance to cause simultaneous Hollow Swarms in these cities plus Washington DC. In addition there's a small segment of it that was very loosely based on House and I'm working on a fic that will go with it. The arrancar profiled below are mirrors to House and his team, plus Cuddy and Wilson. The hollow swarm is let loose on the 5th of may, 2009 inter time. The gatekeepers call it "The devil's party" because at the same time as the hollows were coming out Police, Fire and emergency workers responded to the swarms and the result were several injuries among the Detectives and Police Officers who responded. SVU is the Only Precinct in New York with Open contacts in the gatekeepers... This is because Olivia Benson is a Jounin level gatekeeper who was once considered for Head Jounin of the Inter, a HUGE honor, Elliot Stabler is her genin and Finn Tutuola is a Valkire. In addition Agent Huang is also a Valkire, but must keep his abilities secret from the FBI. Gwen finds Stabler's being tapped at his age amusing because a genin tapped in his middle ages is veritably unheard of among the gatekeepers. Cabot and Novak are both aware of the gatekeepers presence and of the SVU's involvement with them. As a gesture of good will Feralae offered Alex Cabot the chance to go into hiding on a gatekeeper allied world when she was taken into Witness Protection. Cabot refused, wanting to stay on her world even if it meant she had to leave her friends. Novak is allowed to attend gatekeeper functions in places such as Daijuma Hold or Konoha for one or two days, restricted to places that know openly of the Gatekeepers. But these are mainly in the interests of diplomacy with inter's Law Enforcement. Children are considered more adaptable than adults, and able to adjust to the constant change of scenary better. They are more likely to accept the supernatural phenomena that a gatekeeper faces on their journies. However, it turns out that Feralae was the one who pushed for Stabler's being tapped despite some warning signs that he might not be of much use. SVU is also one of Feralae's pet projects, and she's been cultivating a working relationship between some of her more trustworthy gatekeepers and those who work inside its walls. Feralae's hope is that some Police Detectives with gatekeeper abilities that were previously passed over because of their status as law enforcement are actually potentially usefull allies. They will never be as strong as those who started from their teenage years but they have contacts in the Law Enforcement community that could be very usefull. This working relationship with its detectives has been cultivated to the point where a gatekeeper can show the doorguard their key and identify themselves and be allowed to enter. If something supernatural is occuring in New York, most gatekeepers are instructed to ask Special Victims for their assistance. In addition Jack McCoy and Detective Goran from outside SVU have full knowledge of the gatekeepers. The previous Astralgator gave Goran a choice, keep his job or keep his Key. Goran gave up his key in order to join Major Case. However, Feralae offers to give him back his abilities. Jack McCoy is slow to warm up to the gatekeepers, but Feralae has earned his respect by insisting on working with him in person and he is one of the few non gatekeepers who knows her identity. McCoy disagrees about many Gatekeeper ideals such as the lack of formal legal ages, the secrecy that surrounds the Astralgator and her Snowflake, the fact that the gatekeepers have from time to time impersonated police or federal agents to complete a mission and the fact that on several occasions the gatekeepers have bypassed terran laws in order to protect the Inter. If he had caught Gwen impersonating an agent while she was at NCIS he would have had her arrested and tried. However, he also recognizes that innocent humans should not be made the scapegoat for incidents such as hollow attacks or shadowmancer attacks. He's neither an enemy of the gatekeepers nor their friend. The incident that Gwen assists with, lead on her own but with other shinigami, involves a hollow formed from the soul of a child who's rape and murder SVU was unable to solve. The hollow has a cameouflauge ability that makes him able to escape notice. He begins following the SVU detectives to the homes of suspects in various cases, but instead of letting the detectives take them he systematically attacks and eats them. This is, obviously a serious problem, because every suspect he eats also turns into a hollow. And unlike the child hollow who could care less, for various reasons these hollows want to eat the very detectives who tormented them in life. Gwen gets the chance to take some of her fellow shinigami to New york to go on vacation before the grand festival. And she also needs to find a dress to wear to the festivities. (Gwen doesn't get to buy one so uryu makes a dress for her.) As she and the other shinigami pass a brownstone where an SVU arrest is in progress their cellphones go off. Seconds later the suspect's hollow breaks out of his brownstone, knocks the SVU Detectives and sends them flying. It would have eaten them if Gwen hadn't bodily collided with Stabler as the hollow threw him out of the apartment. Gwen has the good sense when she calls 911 to read of Benson and Stabler's badge numbers. The operator alerts Craigan. Gwen found Stabler's gatekey when she checked his badge and had the good sense to wear her gatekey in plain view in charm form. Zephly, his Fraccion and the Order Healing is a VERY rare thing among the arrancar, who typically execute their wounded, but it is not a new thing. Three Sages from the greek and roman empires who were men and women blessed by the gods while alive then fell and became arrancar over the intervening centuries. However, their leader Zephly Ascepilous considers their return to humanoid form a blessing from the Gods. Together with Arisu Kitty and Pythias Warren they are known as the Arrancar Gods of Medicine. However, they don't consider themselves deities, instead they prefer "Elders" or "Sages" for they believe in the Olympian tradition that to declare oneself a god is a sin. They run a cult of healers, who worship the Greek Olympians like their ancient masters. They have extremely strict rules about how to conduct themselves in battle. One of the cardinal rules is that one must not initiate a battle or draw a weapon in a place of healing like a hospital. Instead if attacked in say, Princeton-Plainsboro hospital for example, they would increase their spiritual pressure and shove the opponent out, even through the wall. They also will not deal the finishing blow "No member may take a life. Those who slay a foe in battle will be exiled!" The cult is simply known as "The Order" in Hueco Mundo, and will show mercy to humans or shinigami if one were to enter its doors with injury or sickness. They inhabit a cave system that gives them access to both the land above and the Menos forest. Their skills and the strength of their sages are so well known that Aizen has tried on three seperate occasions to tempt their ringleader Zephly. Zephly has refused both times, despite being offered an Espada position. However, it was the fourth time that lured Zephly and his three new fraccion, Kamrin, Foarmin, and Cheiz from the Order's caverns. The only way Zephly would take an Espada position was if he were allowed to continue practicing medicine and be instilled as Aizen's head medic. Which is what Aizen offered him. Zephly is at least as powerful as Grimmjow. However, he wanted a low position on the Espada totem pole, and since Misa had abdicated her ink and become 109 soon after she came to the past, 9th Espada was open. Kitty and Warren move their Cult's location to keep Aizen from finding them, then engage Zephly and his fraccion in battle one final time to try and find out the reasons why Zephly left. After Aizen dies Zephly is stripped of his rank, however, Grimmjow patches up relations with the Order when he takes control and by Future they are reunited. Zephly lives at Los Noches, and Kitty and Warren take control of the main group in the cave. Zephly is placed in charge of treating Szayel, who is bed or semi bedridden until the incident in which he kills Gwen. The machine he creates to treat Szayel is hooked to the hepatic veins and the kidneys and filters Mayuri's superman formula out bit by bit. If Szayel does not spend at least an hour hooked to this every day the superman formula will kick in once more. Zephly falls in love with Szayel, and the two of them eventually shack up as soon as Szayel has the strength to do so. WHO IS WHAT.... Gatekeepers Olivia Benson - Jounin Elliot Stabler - Genin Calleigh Duquesne - Chuunin Eric Delko - New tap Goran - reinstated Marshall Mahn (In Plain Sight) - Jounin Valkire Finn Huang Allies Novak Cabot McCoy Horatio Caine (Is introduced to the gatekeepers for the first time) Mary Shannon (Ditto) Brenda Leigh Johnson (ditto) |

Three kinds of Mutations Together these three mutations explain most of the processes behind the powers of gatekeepers, who are reincarnations of gods, but also mortal men and women. Mutations of the body These are caused by various forms of genetic mutation, granting a gatekeeper incredible strength and stamina. The Xmen are the classic example, the X gene responsible for their powers makes them the next step in human evolution. They are, and aren't, human. However, the X gene is not the only gene responsible for bodily mutations. There's one thats a marker for technopathy. Mutations of the Mind Mutations of the mind are difficult to pinpoint, however, the human mind is like a pernese message drum, it echos, sending waves out into the ether. People with mutations of the mind gain them one of several ways, either a factor called "Manifestation" comes into play, or they learn to control this power and possess the superior intellect needed to understand its workings, or implants like the Cyberbrains of Section 9 bring them to the forefront. There is no denial that cyberbrains have given rise to an unusual type of entity. Geass is another example of a natural mutation of the mind. It has been perfected since the days of ancient Rome by the Geass Directorate. Mutations of the Soul While the first two are easy to pinpoint, aside from gatekeeping abilities themselves a mutation of the soul is nearly impossible to medically diagnose by normal means. A shinigami would have to reveal him or herself, for example, for these mutations to be found. Manifestation Factor The "manifestation" factor comes into play with mutations of the mind and soul only. It is the premise that a person with psychic abilities could somehow activate and use them without realizing what they're doing. This is especially likely in cases of the mind creating a monster or launching an attack on an individual or individuals who have posed a danger to the person to whom they belong. Light hinted at this possibility when he convinced Ryuuzaki to imprison him prior to his giving up his deathnote and losing his memories in descent. However, he didn't realize that this is sometimes a real possibility with mental and spiritual mutations. Another example is in Naruto, when the former pupil of Kurenai's of the Kurama clan, who made an Id monster appear and attack Konoha, as well as launching several fire and lightning based attacks. there is a different kind of manifestation used by only the most accomplished of technopaths. It blends this kind of manifestation with technopathy and the user's subconscious mind. In Digimon Takato demonstrated it to create Guilmon, using an idea in his mind, a drawing on paper and data in the surrounding electronics. This ability is extremely dangerous and truely the only technopath who understands it completely is Aramaki. Though Yamaki and Watari, two trusted elders among the keepers have a basic understanding of how it works. Using this power of Takatos, one would be able to gather data from the surrounding electronics IN A REAL LIFE MANIFESTATION of the attacks one would use in the Net. However, few technopaths have this manifestation ability. Gwen could potentially unlock it while she's a mortal because her technopathy is instinctive. ZP would not be able to. Nor would any member of section 9. Their Cyberbrains have the unexpected side effect of inhibiting this ability. It was a program made by their creator in an effort to keep entities like the Puppet Master and the Solid State from appearing in far more frequency than they currently do. Without this safeguard entities like the puppet master would appear with a ratio of about one for every four thousand humans with a frequency between once every year to half a year. Likewise humans would be far more vulnerable either to ghost hack or to the stand alone complex phenomena that caused so much trouble with the Laughing Man. |

The Factor of Favor Favor has been mildly addressed in RP's before, talking about guardians and creatures who protect a given gatekeeper. But we never addressed it in detail. The term "Favor" comes from Age of Mythology's "Favor" resource, which allows a player to summon monsters and divine technologies in AoM. Favor is, in its simplest form, the god or goddess who stands watch over a gatekeeper, but that god or goddess also determines what direction a gatekeeper's powers will take. It is completely seperate from the God or goddess that that gatekeeper was in the God Generation. For example, gatekeepers favored by Kali can operate the Kali blood pact scroll. Gatekeepers favored by Diana often use a bow or have an attunement to wild creatures, for example Takato was favored by Diana. Summoners are another type of keeper who are often favored by Diana, because she's the goddess of the hunt, and sometimes by Cernunnos, another hunting deity. Gatekeepers favored by Seiryuu or the other Dragon spirits are, obviously, celestial dragons. In addition, the Astralgator is the only Gatekeeper favored by Benton. All gatekeepers have a mild attunement to Benton, but she only truely favors the Astralgator. The Savants are exclusively favored by that one god or goddess and their powers reflect that. There can also be extraterrestrial deities that favor a person, like Zoid Eve for example. Gatekeepers usually have no more than two deities who favor them, one god, one goddess. In addition, there are special conditions for some gods, most notably, and the reason why Light is NEVER going to leave his world as long as he's human, alive, and in possession of a deathnote, is the Antichrist. Christ is an expression of the Divine, ergo technically he counts as a god. He's just not that common a favor because the gatekeepers don't really /need/ him. The Antichrist is an Expression of Divine Evil. He is /perfect/ evil. The Antichrist never favors more than three living gatekeepers at once, that includes shinigami and arrancar and other "dead" creatures. Those favored by him are the ones usually able to summon the Four Horsemen, though those Favored by Death may do so as well (like Alex, who I guess we can say was temporarily favored by Death when she staged her little rebellion.) Only a person favored by one of those two deities may summon the Horsemen. And about the only person who can put them back without a HUGE battle are those favored by the Antichrist. Hence why Light was supposedly so dangerous and so important. Thats part of why Light is chosen to fight the Horsemen as an arrancar, and is restricted from travel as a human. The gatekeepers thought he might be able to reseal them somehow, obviously he fails and the Horsemen go on a rampage and Alex's little plot goes forwards. The reason why Light fails is because What Gods Favor you can change. The Gatekeepers thought that the Antichrist might still favor Light enough that he could put the Horsemen back, and so they sent him to try and put them away. However, Light was no longer favored by the Antichrist, and so he couldn't reseal them and he got his arse kicked. Changes in favor happen for many reasons and are a natural part of a gatekeeper's spiritual evolution. Nine times out of ten, the Gods themselves are the only ones who know the true Favor of a gatekeeper. However, in times of crisis, like with ZP or Light, Favor becomes a tactical factor and so the Deities decide to reveal whom they favor. This also means that in the case of destructive deities, or those who's favored deities might cause them to wreak havoc on the strand, you can simply quarantine the person until the deity who favors them changes to something less threatening. Its not fair, but its a better option than just killing them. Nine times out of ten, Favor changes happen in accordance with spiritual transformation. However, everything from marriage, having a child, a serious injury or a major trauma, a journey or quest, or a simple shift in attitude can change the deities a person is favored by. To use Gwen's favor as an example, Gwen was originally favored by Susonwo, the Japanese God of Storms and by Hecate, the Roman Goddess of witchcraft. That changed to being favored almost exclusively by Seiryuu until Ghost. When she became a shinigami, Hecate and Seiryuu become the ones who favor her. Hecate is one of Hades' consorts (along with Persephone) so it fits that an underworld goddess favor Gwen. When she dies, Susonwo and Hecate become the gods who favor her once more. While she travels with the Doctor, Chronos temporarily favors Gwen. The Gods who favor you usually determines what animal or creature is your spiritual guardian and thus your transformed state. Susonwo is a creature of storms and winds, so Gwen was air element when she first started out and Tengu, a creature of the air that suited Susonwo's violent temper became her shapeshifted form. ((if this makes zero sense, its because its 4:11AM and I'm blasted. Might add a little more later)) |

OC Characters and powers for the DSI Seireitei Tournament, part 1 I'll start with made ups first and move to the major players in the tournament. The Three Heroes of the 2nd These are three seats from the 2nd division with untapped gatekeeper powers (they are under evaluation, and by the time of Future will be active jounin if anyone wants to use them), and they are the Reflections of Criminal Minds characters and Gideon's former team members Aaron Hotchner, Derek Morgan and Penelope Garcia. However, Eri is the closest resemblance to his mirror, Hotch, appearing to only be ten years younger and with brown hair rather than black. The other two have little physical resemblance to their mirrors. Eri Hochiro Squad: 2 Rank: 3rd Seat Favored by: Heracles Zanpakuto: Herakeresu no Enkou (flame/halo of Heracles) Bankai name: Herakereso no Pyore Enko (flame of Heracle's Pyre) Spirit form: Herakereso no Enkou is a shapeshifter, who uses the forms of the different mythical monsters that Heracles fought, most commonly the nemean lion. However he can also take the form of a Hydra, a maneating boar, the Cyrnean Hind, the Stymphalian Birds, the Cretan Bull, a maneating mare, and the three headed dog Cerberus. Shikai: Heracles was best known for wearing the skin of the Nemean Lion as armor, and with the command "Rippuku" "rage" a similar hide cloak extends to cover Hochi's eyes and chest. He can see through the lion's eyeholes. His sword turns into a Hoplite style spear with deep crimson ribbons flowing from the base and tufts of crimson feathers hanging from the point. Bankai: The Nemean Lion skin turns a silver color and strengthens its defenses, turning into a helmet with more defined eyeholes. Hochi gains a shield, and his spear turns the same silver color as his armor. When this occurs, Hochi's spiritual pressure compresses and becomes almost impossible to trace if he wants to hide on the battlefield. In addition, he gains blitzkrieg fast speed, the armor reflects the nemean lion, and the speed and silver coloring reflecting the third labor of heracles, the retrieval of the Cyernian Hind. Hochi's has three main attacks, but his zanpakuto promised him twelve techniques, each one reflecting one of heracles' twelve labors. The ones that Hochi knows are Roar of Orthos (Nemean Lion) which creates a compressed shockwave of sound. The shockwave creates the illusion of a lion made out of wind when released and can blow holes in almost anything, Toxic Fang (Hydra) releases spears similar to those of Captain Tousen's own shikai release, tipped with poison. Cyrnian Crescent (The Cyrnian Hind) increases the speed of his shunpo, and when activated creates antlers of pale white energy that disappear when he uses another attack. His newest technique at the time the rp starts is, Symphalian Shade (Stymphalian Birds), which projects a massive trio of black birds out of energy that shoot towards a target and attack. Hochi gains a new attack for the first time by entering his inner world and doing battle with the form of Herakeresu no Enkou that corrosponds with the correct labor of Heracles. That is to say, to gain Roar of Orthos he fights the Nemean Lion, to gain Toxic Fang the hydra, ecetera, reinacting the twelve labors. Sometimes he cannot complete a task in the chance he has, and if interrupted he can go back to the Labor given him later. Herakereso no Enkou is a very patient zanpakuto and endlessly inventive. Hochi only gained bankai one week before the rp began, and has already managed to defeat most of the easier labors to unlock, he is currently stumped by the cleaning of the Augean stables, and is unsure whether to skip the stables and move to the next labor or to try and complete them before moving on. Danan Moro Squad 2 Rank: 4th Seat Favored by: Mercury Zanpakuto: Kisoku no Merukiru (Breath/Rule of Mercury) Shikai: His zanpakuto becomes ringed in shimmering bands of air and energy, air compresses beneath his feet, his reiatsu rings his hands and feet at this point, creating the illusion of wings on his hands and feet and the ability to hover or dart around as Mercury did. Zanpakuto Spirit: Moro's zanpakuto spirit reflects Mercury's role as the Roman god of thoughts, specifically Mercury's job of ferrying dreams from Morpheus, the god of dreams to a person having a dream. He appears as a shadow ringed by coils of whirling wind with golden wings of energy and carrying Mercury's staff. The gatekeeper evaluating Moro believes that he may have the potential to become a dream keeper, due to the form his zanpakuto spirit takes. Moro is training for bankai but hasn't quite reached it yet, and frequently is seen sparring with his zanpakuto spirit in hopes of reaching bankai. Persephone Shiba Fomerly of Divison 12, now of Division 2 Persephone is of the 2nd division, but her duties take her in a totally different direction. Persephone is a cousin of Kukaku's who is given the task of seeking out plants that can be grown for food in the Seireitei. Persephone maintains agricultural plots all over the world of the living, raising plants to maintain the Seireitei's food supply, as well as the materials that it uses to create cloth and paper. This is a mission given to her by the Chamber of 46, no matter what division she is transferred to, and there's a reason for it. Certain plants are unable to grow in the soul society, among them, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, numbweed, cinnamon, cotton, corn and some more delicate vegetables. In addition any plant that has been genetically engineered by current human technology will grow for about three to six months and then start to wilt. (Using PCR to replicate the gene and a "gene gun" method loaded with microscopic gold pellets that inject a new gene and a promoter into a seed is the current technology.) Persephone's zanpakuto's power is to make plants grow, and she is able to accellerate the growth and production of plants, for example causing cotton to grow from seed to bud in only one night or causing cacao trees to produce large amounts of pods in a matter of hours. But it only works during the spring and summer months of the area of the living world or seireitei is in, any other time of the year and she loses the ability to use her zanpakuto. If she has to fight, Persephone creates large pillars or branches of wood which ensnare or impale an opponent. She uses kidou and hand to hand to compensate when the season is unfavorable for her. Persephone was treated cruely when Mayuri Kurotsuchi took control of the 12, because of her bubbly personality, which reflects her mirror, Penelope Garcia. She clings and squeals and sometimes acts rather childish. However, soon after Urahara and Yoruichi left, when Soi Fong was made captain of the second, she brought Soi Fong home made chocolates made from cacao beans she grew and harvested using her power as a congratulatory gift and the two became friends. A few months later, Mayuri got angry at Persephone and used his zanpakuto's paralysis ability on her, then dumped her at the 4th division. Soi Fong rescued Persephone and transferred her to her division the next day. Mayuri was never punished for doing so, however, the 12th division had seven years of poor supplies and budget cuts by the chamber of 46 afterwards as a warning not to treat the person responsible for most of the Seireitei's food supply so cruelly, or else there would be punishment. Persephone hangs around the soul society when autumn comes to the Western world and remains until the cherry trees blossom, whereupon she heads out into the world of the living to raise more food. |

History: Jason Gideon (criminal minds) Jason Gideon is the leader of the BAU team depicted in criminal minds, but in the series, bitter about unsubs (unknown subjects or suspects) using god to justify their crimes and suffering from Post traumatic stress disorder he retired from the BAU. The only person he contacted leaving the BAU was Dr. Spencer Reed. The Gatekeeper universe history is much more frightening. Many years ago, in the middle of a terrible gatekeeper war, a still young Watari and Seth were called to an explosion ignited by a 6 year old boy. The boy had been attacked by a shadowmancer and in response his latent gatekeeper powers ignited a huge explosion that spontaneously neutralized every power that the shadowmancer had and left him paralyzed, battered and unconscious. The boy was Jason Gideon, the investigation into his powers revealed that he was chosen as the savant of Gaia. the first male gatekeeper chosen as a savant for a female deity. It was an incredible honor. Watari and Seth were assigned as his teachers and protectors. Soon after Gideon was tapped, and three times a month he'd be taken to a hidden glen in the land of leaves and trained in the use of his power. But the very nature of his powers was a potential hazard. Gideon's strongest ability was "Total Empathy." The ability to look into an opponent's heart. Not their mind, their heart. Originally these uses of his power manifested as visions of what would have been the person's inner world if they became a shinigami. These visions were confusing and in some cases terrifying. In the modern day, Gideon can use this ability to view a shinigami's inner world, helping him to understand these strange new allies of the Gatekeepers who were also going to be his landlords as leader of the DSI. Gideon also developed a mokuton like ability to control the growth of plants. This is the opposite side of the gaiakinesis ability displayed by the dragon of earth. Only instead of controlling rocks and dirt and seismic phenomena he controls plant growth. His spirit color was shown to be a bright spring green and his energy control was incredible, even stronger than Gwen's. As a boy he had comparable strength to Gwen's pre change to shinigami. The gatekeepers were carefull that despite his strength, Gideon be kept with a relatively normal life. With his gift and his attunement with Gaia, he was the strongest in the Inter anyway because that was the realm that Gaia favored more than any other. However, when he decided to join the FBI and the BAU, the gatekeepers told him the same thing they told Benson, Goran, Calleigh and many other law enforcement gatekeepers. Your key or your badge. He agreed to have his key blacked, his powers surpressed, yet Gaia stubbornly still favored him, refusing to choose another. Even as a goddess with no material form she became enamored with him, and would choose no other Savant until his dying day, going to the greatest lengths she could deprived from physical form to protect him and care for him, even annoying Benten somewhat, though the Dragon Goddess was close friends with Gaia before the destruction of the deities, Gaia was Benten's Sempai before the pandemic and so she indulges Gaia with whatever her heart desires. Gaia's affection for the boy whom her power saved at such a young age did not abate when Gideon grew. In her eyes, he had become a defender, a warrior who protected innocents, there was no more noble a profession in her eyes. And because the one who favored him was a primordial god, the one power Gaia would not supress was Gideon's total empathy. Even when it became a danger to his life. Gideon discovered soon after that the gift that suited him so well as a gatekeeper and as a defender could easily kill him as a BAU agent. The first warning he usually got that trying to capture his Unsub was going to harm him was that he started coughing or vomiting blood. Usually that would precipitate a two or three day period of severe weakness with respiratory or pulmonary distress. But the prognosis wasn't good. The psychosis of the most severe unsubs he encountered was slowly chipping away at his lifeforce. If he continued for too long he would likely die. Then the bomber that killed 6 agents struck, Gideon had been using his gift to track the agents who were in pursuit. Tuned in to their bodies when the bombing struck, Gideon was exposed to an empathic maelstrom. The gatekeepers rushed him away to a high level security hospital where Gideon's ability nearly killed him, causing a severe depletion of chakra and a hemmorage of life force. When it was over, he was so weak he couldn't get out of bed for quite awhile. When Feralae took office Gideon was the first gatekeeper she restored. In her eyes as the Savant of a deity as important as Gaia he was a priority. Gideon evaluated Spencer Reed and Penelope Garcia as potential gatekeepers in secret. Reed quickly passed eval but when Gideon began to cough blood again he realized time was short. He wouldn't have the chance to tap Reed. Another gatekeeper would have to do it. Then Feralae announced her intention to bring gatekeepers to public knowledge in the Inter, something no Astralgator had done since the days of ancient egypt. Gideon promised to help her, and began planning both his exit from the BAU and how he would tell his former team what had happened. He decided to wait until his replacement had joined, and approach the Team one by one with the help of whatever gatekeepers were chosen to be his assistants. |

About half of this isn't going to make sense until ZP gets the chance to read Soul Eater around Christmas time. Its to go with the rp I'm planning should ZP be able to read it. Morgan is a major support fighter, able to amplify the skills of other shinigami and vizards, (and variations thereupon) regardless of dimension. And has been statted as a magic user/spirit user/support fighter. Morgan Argent De Nostradame aka Morgan Ley Fay Race: Vizard Age: 16 Family: Mother Moria Argent, 3 uncles, adopted brother Lyle Argent; known ancestors Saint Michelle De Nostradame, Michelle Argent, Maria Argent, multiple Iroqois, Souix and Anasazi ancestors Affiliated Organizations: Flying Fox Salvage Company Ancestral worlds: Born on Inter Earth, ancestral worlds Bleach and Soul Eater Attached: No Familiars: Dog Rocky (boarder collie), Cat Abba (Burmese/Abbasynian (sp) mix), Firelizard Blue Tartarus and Green Xiabalba, pokemon Zorua (shiny) http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/570.shtml Core type: Matsuri Power Class: Summoner/Shaman/Nature Magic Zanpakuto: Morrigan, bankai Morrigan Ley Fay, release command for shikai "Walk Fearlessly in Darkness" release command for bankai "Emerge from Xiabalba, works of the Ancient Witch, Morrigan Ley Fay!" 800 years ago a civil war among the witches of Soul eater ripped their own community apart. The last of the "White Witches" that is to say witches who didn't believe in corrupting souls, were supposedly wiped out. Saint Michelle De Nostradame, the high white witch faked her death in front of Maba, Death, Eibon and Asura, and fled with her kinsmen to the Inter. There they settled in France, not far from where Nostradamus would later be born. Saint Michelle is the Soul Eater equivalent of the famous seer, venerated and respected by both Death and his Warlords, and her own kind. Her loss hit the organization that would later become Shibusen heavily, as she had sided with Death and suffered for it at the hands of her own kind. Years of witch burning in the Inter reduced the white witches to a few scattered families in the French, German and Itallian countryside. Fastforward to 1850, a bad year for the entire Strand, but the worlds that were home to varying species of shinigami, as well as the Harry Potter world were hit hardest. A group of Shadowmancers attempted to revive Mulengro, the One who had unleashed the plague that killed the Gods, and in doing so they ripped several worlds wide open. Weapons, Meisters and Witches went missing in great numbers that year. Forced elsewhere in the strand. Members of houses Shihouin, Kuchiki and Shiba as well as the Omnikitsudo were sucked into the inter, listed as missing. Casualties from the Harry Potter world, especially around Ireland, were supposedly very high. The Quincy Rebellion that would later result in their destruction in the world of Bleach was well and truely under way, with the Seireitei suffering desertion in addition to its causalities as its officers rebelled against the slaughter, they thought nothing of such people going missing. And Michelle Argent, Saint Michelle's many times great grand daughter, left France with her daughter Marie for America, hoping to settle in the American West. There they formed a trading company, Flying Fox, and employed Iroquois and Sioux braves, shamen and medicine men rather than employing other settlers. What these worlds didn't know, is that the "casualties" were sucked into the inter by the fighting among the gatekeepers. After all, none of those that disappeared had gatekeeper abilities, they had no way of contacting home. Michelle was concerned at the great number of refugees streaming into her small outpost in the Black Hills that had peculiar powers, and she employed them all, welcoming them into her clan as part of her ancestry. Marie, her daughter, collected the stories, and diaries, and other hand written volumes of occult lore from those that joined them. These refugees helped to found the railway companies Flying Fox and Falcon. Fox and Falcon were the greatest of allies at first, but then one day, there was an ambush. A pair of Vasto lordes, Morgan and Lizzie Black attacked, slaughtering and hollowfying the entirety of Falcon Company. The clan of hollows disappeared, haunting the battlefields of the Civil War and indian conflicts that came soon after, hunting humans to add to their ranks. Evolving into arrancar, the two clans fighting shook the American West right up until World War i. The Argent Clan suffered high casualties in world wars i and ii, reducing their numbers from 200 to a lowly 55. At about this time, Michelle's descendants went astray, greedily snapping up or attempting to snap up many sacred magical artifacts. Misfortune fell upon the Clan in punishment for their greed. Roughly 20 members of Clan Argent were remaining in the 1977s when Moria, Morgan's mother, took over, and put an end to her family's greed. Beginning good works to make up for the karma her family had lost, Moria focused on the environment and historical preservation, as well as Animal and Native American rights. Morgan was raised in a loving household in the rural Berkshire Mountains of Massachusattes, but always felt /drowned/ in her mother's presence. After all, Moria could put an arrancar's head through a bar room wall, was nearly as strong as the Kenpachi from Zaraki, and an expert spellcaster and outdoorswoman. All of Moria's spells and attacks were themed around American tall tales. Indeed, her weapon "Widowmaker" was said to be the hammer with which John Henry worked himself to death. It was said to have a head made of seki seki rock, a handle and haft formed from crystal taken from hueco mundo's trees as well as wood from an oak tree blessed by Odin himself. It was held together with magic and sinew from a blessed white buffalo, carried feathers on its handle from a sacred crow. She and her adopted brother Lyle were trained by her mother, her uncles, and her mother's business partner Darok, as well as Chayton Black, the heir to the Black Clan. Chayton's participation was part of a truce between the families in an effort to stop the violence of their past. They call themselves Belial, a Shadowmancer organization researching the Ancestral reaching ability, as well as hollowfication, in an effort to claim the power of a shinigami for themselves. They kidnapped Morgan when she, Chayton and Lyle were on a trip to their company aqua timber outpost in Oregon. Morgan was to learn diving that summer, in order to help with the salvaging operations carried out by her company and clan in Miami and the Pacific Northwest. Morgan was tortured, experimented on and hollowifed, medical reports show Cyanide entered into the picture at some point, but her soul was ejected from her body and hollowfied. Then she was repaired, brought back to life, while Morgan's family has not yet found her, Belial's base fell in a mysterious fire, suspected to be magical in origin by the gatekeepers. The wrath of the Argent and Black clans combined descended upon Belial group, unfortunately, this was one base among many. After her rescue in Homecoming Part ii, the gatekeepers have since forensically determined the fire to be set by the use of Cero and Magic. The bodies of the belial group members who were slaughtered there are being analyzed by the Coroner for any specifics, and are a mixed batch, human, quincy, arrancar, ninja, alchemist, and even several "monsters" from the soul eater world. Discovering more about Belial Group's aims and goals is one of the missions currently facing Gatekeeper DSI command, which Morgan is slated to be drafted into upon hitting Chuunin. Takato was named as Morgan's sensei, and she goes on many missions with him. It was he, combined with Shinji Yoruichi and Urahara who trained Morgan to an extremely high standard. Using their combined knowledge, Morgan quickly gained control of her mask, and hit shikai and bankai (using the doll method). She's extremely adept at Kido and Cero, but is lacking in the Zanjutsu (swordsmanship) and hakudo (hand to hand) shinigami arts. However, by the standards of either of her main ancestral worlds and even by gatekeeper standards, Morgan's abilities are friggin weird. It has to be noted that using the soul eater "Soul Perception" technique Morgan's soul shows up as that of a shinigami, despite the obvious similarity of her powers to a witch. Morgan is, however, incapable of using some of the Soul eater enchantments witches use for concealment such as Soul Protect or animal shapeshifting. Even Joe Buttataki, currently the only Meister able to use the technique "Soul Detect" capable of seeing through the Soul Protect enchantment would be able to see that she's a reaper and her aura would scream "Shinigami" to every meister and weapon even remotely sensitive to soul types. Powers and abilities Zanpakuto: Morgan's shikai form takes the shape of a /huge/ golden warhammer, similar in appearance to the fabled hammer of Thor. However, attached to the hammer is a throwing disk styled after the pentacle disks depicted on tarot cards and containing Morgan's personal totem seals. Morrigan's zanpakuto takes the form of a witch dressed in an animal fur cloak, with several magical instruments floating around her. Morrigan has crow wings, and crow feathers in places, but carries a buffalo skull for a shield, and her cloak has wolf and black jaguar fur in it. Like Kouga's Muramasa, Morrigan has the ability to commune with other zanpakuto and she can draw them into her inner world to achieve effects in the physical world. When she links with five other zanpakuto in her world in this fashion, one of each element and one of spirit, she can initiate the skill "Mass Chaos" in which all five elements are unleashed upon Morgan's location and the power of every shinigami within a 66.6 mile radius is amplified five times over regardless of dimensional affiliation. This makes Morgan indispensible in the event of an invasion or a mass military operation in which multiple shinigami are involved. Meister/weapon pairs get a boost as well, however, its only half the strength and radius of the shinigami skill bonus. However, the use of the skill throws Morgan into a coma for 3 days and nights afterward and drains her reiatsu severely. Appropriate medical measures should be taken when the technique is in use to protect her. In more conventional battles, Morrigan summons the animals from her cloak, known as Totems, taking the form of a wolf, a jaguar, and a crow. The totems can be used at once. The wolf controls ice and flash step, the jaguar controls fire and stealth, the crow controls thunder and kido. Combined with the animals, Morgan gains the ability to "Cloak Shift" (similar to Gwen's mode change) giving her a magic cloak similar to those worn frequently by witches in the Soul eater universe (see Medusa's outfit for an example http://ny-image0.etsy.com/ialcr_fullxfull.32068.jpg) with some minor differences in coloring and style and minus the enchanted tattoos. Wolf Cloak ramps up her flash step, as well as the speed related skills of every shinigami, weapon and meister in Morgan's line of sight, turning already fast fighters such as Soifon, Yoruichi and Byakuya into veritable /rockets./ Morgan then gains the ability to cover the battlefield in snow and ice, and to control this snow and ice. The cloak that Morgan gains in this form has a wolf's head for the hood and a wolf's tail. As well as a wolf's feet and forepaws at the ankles and wrists. Chains of ice drape themselves over her body and she can use them to bind an opponent and drain their reiatsu. Jaguar Cloak ups Morgan's stealth and relatively weak hakudo abilities, compressing her reiatsu to reinforce her skin, bone and muscle structure against attack. She gains the ability to breathe fire and her attack "Sacrificial Flame" causes continuous burn damage for 3 hours after the Jaguar cloak is dispelled. Morgan also gains the aiblity to disappear into shadows, a technique similar to Kyoraku's shikai. The strength of all shinigami, meisters and weapons in the area increases 3 fold, enabling hand to hand fighters like Soifon or Blackstar a stupidly high tactical advantage in battle. Crow Cloak rachets up Morgan's reiatsu, giving her clairvoyance as well as the ability to use Saint Michelle's magical techniques and increasing all shinigami cast spells in the area including making all Kido /oversized/ and stupidly powered. However, using Saint Michelle's white magical arts requires an actual knowledge of the skills she wants to perform. In other words, the white magical arts are a learned trait. She can't just instinctively use them. Bankai: Morgan's bankai is newly emerged, and therefore a majority of its powers are unknown. However, its physical form merges all of Morgan's "Cloaks" into one form. With the command "Emerge from Xiabalba, works of the Ancient Witch" her shikai shatters, becoming the common tools of the wiccan altar, wand, athame, boline, book, bell, cup, cauldron, pentacle disk, tarot card, candle, incense, staff, sword and a statue of the gods Anubis and Isis. Each of these tools can fire a different technique, ice, fire, lightning, kido or cero, while the staff and sword are used for direct attacks rather than casting spells. Morgan's crow wings from her previous shape glow white, becoming a pair of angel wings and a halo stands out around her head, transforming her into an angel. Her shinigami uniform changes into a black and white version of the dress commonly seen worn by the female gods in Egyptian murals and she fights barefoot. Most soul eater witches, as well as the 8 Great warlords such as Death, Eibon, Asura ecetera would, at this point, be able to recognize Morgan as Michelle's descendant with a single glance. Hollow: Morgan's inner hollow is a were kyuubi, and when using her mask Morgan gains 9 tails and a quadruped form. Her shikai floats over her head, as she can't use her hands in that shape. her hollow form turns her into a living cannon for spirit based attacks and in group combat in this shape she will typically entrench herself behind a physical obstacle such as a rock or piece of debris and rain Kido and cero fire down on on opponent, as well as casting power boosts and environmental disturbances with Morrigan. But her hollow has an even stranger attack similar to the cero double used by Nel, Consuma Garganta. This creates a massive unstable garganta that sucks in all ranged attacks, kido, cero, spells, you name it, if its ranged and energy based, it sucks it in and combines it into a massive blast of spirit energy that turns itself back upon the enemy. In addition "Negacion Chaotica" is a special brand of negacion that can be used to drain reiatsu from and confuse those who use head on attacks to attack it, turning Morgan's hollow form into an engine of destruction behind an impenetrable wall. The final skill of Morgan's hollow is her hollow's totem, which Morgan has affectionately named Kit. Kit is a tiny fox kitten with stubby white angel wings, a hollow hole and hollow mask. However Kit rarely obeys Morgan's commands and frequently bites her head, hair or hands, chewing and teething like a baby puppy when it does so. Mainly for comic relief, Kit has a tendency to get Morgan into trouble but has a special knack for sniffing out magical artifacts and booby traps. Kit is a capable curse breaker, capable of countering a majority of the spells used by Soul eater's and Harry Potter's witch/wizard population, but his disobedience makes this skill difficult to utilize. Morgan has the ability to cast and manipulate the portal to hueco mundo, Garganta the only gatekeeper able to do so at will without the aid of a gatekey. Kido and flash step skills Morgan's zanpakuto is kido based, and offers her a /really/ strong bonus with any spell. She's a self taught up and coming kido and cero master, able to use both Kido and cero at once. Flash step is about medium in strength, but Morgan's speed is climbing. Within a few decades, she'll be able to keep up with most of Bleachverse's Omnikitsudo in hand to hand and speed skills. Morgan's zanjutsu and hand to hand are poor, and she's forced to rely on her Cloak Change ability in order to fight hand to hand. Because of this, its very easy for speed based and strength based opponents to defeat her in a few minutes. She'd stand very little chance of winning against, for example, Yammy, Grimmjow or Nnoitra. Michelle's White magical arts Morgan is a novice at Michelle de Nostradame's white magical arts, and with the shinigami half of her vizard powers dominent, its unlikely she'll progress beyond the intermediate stage in this discipline. Gatekeeper magical arts Extremely profficient in these, Morgan is capable of using the full range of Zodiac art spells and Pantheon art spells for Greece, Rome, Maya, Native American, Norse and Egyptian deities. Soul Core and personality weaknesses Morgan's soul core is a matsuri type, enabling music, dance, and other emotional and social stimulation to strengthen her considerable skills. She is first and foremost a group combatant, and doesn't do well fighting alone. If kept in isolation, Morgan will mentally and emotionally break down, her emotional status slowly degrading until she slips into insanity. Being isolated in a natural environment, such as a jungle, desert, forest, ecetera doesn't have this effect, but being imprisoned in any location or being on a starship (like in the Star trek, gundam, doctor who, star wars, and similar) worlds has a tendancy to drive her slowly insane. And she would not survive prison. The girl has an anxiety attack at being underground and severe claustrophibia. She does not stand up well to torture, with an especial weakness to poisons after what was done to her. Morgan's will to live in these circumstances is /incredible/, or the vizard would never have survived her own hollowfication, let alone the rigors of combat the way she does. In many cases her sheer stubbornity is what allows her to survive. Morgan's own spirit power is fractured by the experiments done on her by Belial Group, and when Soul Perception, that is to say the Soul eater ability to view a person's soul and analyze what appears, is used on her, the person casting the ability would see a shinigami soul that has been fractured into pieces, only held together by Morgan's extraordinary will to live and her gatekeeper soul core. The girl has an especial resistance to illusion casting attacks, as illusions tend to only affect one part of her fractured soul, leaving the others unharmed. Morgan is a sensitive and loving personality, with an extremely foul temper. She is infinately curious, to the point where she gets into trouble for prying too much. Salvage and Support Expert Morgan is an expert in varying methods of salvage and support skills, both magical and conventional. Her historical knowledge is exhaustive, her ability to commune with nature is her saving grace, and she is an accomplished herbalist, gardener and forager with a wide knowledge of survival skills and edible wild plants, as well as the preparation of herbal cures. Her hunting and tracking skills and survival knowledge make her well equipped to handle the nomadic Path of the Gatekeeper. Morgan is capable of using scuba diving equipment and handling small watercraft, and is extremely mechanically inclined, however, she developed a phobia of laboratories after Belial's experiments on her, she also has a dislike of computers, making her ill suited to the technology department for these reasons. This does not mean she lacks scientific acumen, as she's a great naturalist, biologist and botanist, just the discipline and interest in bringing it out. Green technology and sustainability are major fortes for her, and she's able to repair cars and convert mechanical systems to run at maximum efficiency. She can convert cars to run on biodiesel or hybrid engine, as well as install solar panels. Morgan is capable of making junk into just about anything, and has often been called "The Shinigami McGuyver" for this skill. Animal Sympathy and Psionics The Soul eater's meisters and weapons are classed as psionics users by the gatekeeper classification documents, Morgan has inherited some of this psychic acumen with a high empathy rating. However, most noted of these are her "Animal Whispering" "Animal Calm" and "Ikimono no Kyomei" (animal sympathy aka animal resonance) skills. Animal Whispering and Animal Calm used in tandem enable her to psionically lure animals to her and calm them, a skill that can backfire comically in the right circumstances, especially when used on invertebrate life forms such as insects and mollusks. However both skills carry a heavy risk of injury when used on blood sucking animals, venomous animals, or apex predators such as Tigers, crocodiles, wolves, ecetera. Safety equipment and medical personelle should /always/ be on hand when its used in case of an accident. Ikimono no Kyomei is Morgan's Soul Eater and native american heritage combining, as the only gatekeeper soul eater verse char able to use it is Morgan's ancestress Michelle Argent de Nostradame, in fact its her signature and would be easily recognizable by the beings who were alive 800 years ago at the beginning of the Soul eater timeline. However, native american gatekeepers /frequently/ use this technique, it being a point of pride and a way of them expressing their heritage. Loosely related to the Soul Resonance Technique used in that universe (http://souleater.wikia.com/wiki/Soul_Resonance) Animal Resonance allows Morgan to perform Soul Resonance with her zanpakuto's power animals, birds, canids and felines. The skill transforms them into giant, black furred, white winged versions of themselves. It operates on the same principle as Soul Resonance, but uses animals instead of magic weapons. (((((And there you have it, Morgan))))) |

Department Seals just little tidbits of stuff I came up with. you know how on flags and stuff they have the Latin mottos? I came up with some gatekeeper department ones. Astralgator's Seal a blue field with the current astralgator's constellation upon it, composed of seven pointed stars, and a scroll with the phrase "One with Creation." Shield Council A shield on crossed halberds with a knights helmet overlaid on the shield. Motto: "Order and Tradition" Technology Department On a silacone green field, a pair of silver gears meshed together, motto "Good Works that Serve the People." Snowflake Command Department A black falcon in flight on a white field with a sprig of mistletoe in its talons. Motto "Turn Swift Wings to the Skies." Snowflake Training Department A flame covered, winged lion rampent on a white field. Motto "A solid foundation makes a solid soul." Snowflake Supply Department A green ox charging on a white field. Motto "What use be it for a man, should he gain the world but lose his own soul." alternate motto "Food and cheer over hoarded gold" DSI Command On a blue field, a white balence with a sword and scroll in saltire. Motto: "Probe the mysteries, respect the unexplained." Flying Fox Trading and Salvage Company On a black field, a midnight blue winged fox overlaid on a cross. Alternately, a fox's skull with wings on a midnight blue field may be used. Motto: "Live Fearlessly, Love Recklessly", alternate motto "Vigil over History, Pride in Identity." |

Some notes - Soul Eater Important: I wrote this late at night so there's a lot of errors. X.X due to lack of braincells that late. The soul eater world, by gatekeeper standards would seem to be extremely unbalenced, of course, the Meisters would blame this on the Kisshin. But thats because they don't have the "long view" of a gatekeeper. the trouble was touched off just over 800 years before by Maba, the Kisshin's madness was actually the last event in a long succession of symptoms, the N stage of a disease. Before this, before Death entered his mirror, before Asura's betrayel and Eibon's death, there were actually three kinds of witches. One with positive magic, one with neutral magic (known as green, or earth magic), and one with black magic. Mabaa and Clan Gorgon, (lead by Medusa and Arachne), took control of the black magic witches, and began to take over, exterminating the white and green witches in numerous and varied acts of genocide. Death, and the other warlords, could feel on the air that something was wrong. Dangerously so. They viewed these actions as a threat, knowing that Magic had to be in balence for the system to work. The gatekeepers know its more serious than that. When monitoring the fabric of the worlds, magic is usually the first force to become corrupted. Its the canary in the coal mine. And that is where it began, not with the madness, but with Mabaa's attempts to exterminate positive magic. The result was /everything/ in the soul eater world that came after, the Sway of Magic that tempts witches to evil, the Madness which draws souls off the human path, all of it. Death attempted to stop this, joining with the last of the White and Green witches, lead by Saint Michelle. It was she, a witch, who fought the hardest to stop Mabaa and save the world, and this was extremely evident in the effort she threw into her alliance with Shinigami-sama. Helping Death in the white rebellion were Eibon and a pre Kisshin Asura. But it was a losing battle. Michelle was an oracle, a prophet, she /knew/ that at the end of the road, she would die, and only Death would be left to protect the world she loved. She created her own magic tools, meant to restore balence and light to a world she knew would be almost completely covered in darkness. These tools interface with Eibon's. While they can be used alone, interface with the works of Eibon requires Brew and a shinigami wielder for their full strength to be effective. The magic tools of saint michelle were made with a small amount of help from eibon, but are mainly her design. Michelle made them with a powerfully loving intent. She and Eibon were both very in love with Death, but Death chose Eibon over Michelle. Still, she never felt jealous or sore about it. As long as Shinigami-sama was happy, that was all that mattered. The Magic tools of Michelle, and the effort she put into them, were an expression of her love for him. When it looked like she would be killed before this all important work could be finished, the gatekeepers ordered an unwilling Michelle to retreat and take her magic tools with her. The point was to create something that could restore light to the world of soul eater if it fell too far into darkness for the locals to handle alone. Michelle died twenty years after she disappeared, less than 50 years after the rebellion's conclusion Asura betrayed Death, and within a century after the war was lost the last green and white witches died. Death attempted to preserve their magic by giving them political asylum and protection. But it didn't work, even when they kept the bloodlines pure, humans were born into the white and green magical lines rather than more green and white witches. The result was that eventually, no more white or green witches were born and the fabric of worlds in that area, heavily dependent upon magic to maintain its structure, further deteriorated. A force known as the "Lampaedes Force" is a facet of the power of Hecate, Roman goddess of witches, and automatically moved to preserve the "Kernel" of White and Green magic in the world of soul eater. Their removal of the "Kernal" of white and green magic from the soul eater world for its preservation was what kept white and green witches from being born and was responsible for Death's efforts at preservation failing. The Lampaedes can be convinced to return the Kernals of White and Green Magic by a Savant (for the Soul eater world, the chosen savants will be Kid (Anubis) Maka (Thoth) and Chrona (Isis) and they will have to journey (eventually) to the spacial position of the Lampaedes Force (will develop later) and convince them to release the white and green magic in order for White and green witches on their world to be born again. Until then, the only Soul Eater native white and green witches are those affiliated with Clan Argent in the Inter, as well as Flying Fox Company, where the White and Green Magic Forces have a tentative foothold through the Inter's presence of Wicca. I've come up with only five of Michelle's tools so far. Only one of these Magic tools is located in the soul eater world, The Flower of Death. Its a large flower, made of crystal, containing the memories of Death, Eibon, Asura and Michelle. Some of these memories are externalized into four chains, the White Chain, the Chain of Death, the Chain of Asura and the Chain of Eibon. To release the Flower of Death from its bonds, four people, one of them genetically related to Shinigami-sama, (though his reincarnation would work as well if he were to die), must each take a chain, and live the memories contained within it. Each link is a different memory, and when its successfully viewed to completion, it dissolves and is absorbed in the flower. The memories start out as positive ones, snippets, snapshots of a happy, active, tumultous time. But as one progresses up the chain they become gradually more intense and intrusive. The people retrieving the magic tool live the experience through the eyes of the person they're playing. So Kid would be living the experience from his father's eyes, with the exact same sensations and emotions. Its a process nearly identical to the linking process of ghost in the shell. They are essentially diving into a recording of the mind of the person they are playing. It will take several attempts to completely break the four chains of memory. But those participating will have a chance to rest in between if they get overwhelmed. Because of this, breaking the Chain of Asura is /extremely/ hazardous, with a high risk of insanity into the bargain. There are some restrictions, Asura's chain /repels/ someone infected with madness. So Soul, Stein, and Chrona are out for that role. Maka's exorcism wavelength routinely cleanses her soul of madness, meaning that while she was exposed via her connection with soul, she can still navigate Asura's memory chain safely because her soul will cleanse itself of Madness. Michelle /must/ be played by a female, by a blood relative or by someone who can use magic. Her chain will not respond to anyone else. Therefore Morgan is the best fit for that. I don't want to use Gwen for the fourth, the role of Eibon, because she gets used so often for everything and i'm trying to break that habit. I'd really rather have Soul navigating Eibon's chain. This makes things a bit awkward for Kid from the getgo, because some of the memories involve his father in an intimate relationship with the great wizard, add in that its Kid's male classmate on the other end and it could be a recipe for trouble and some great rp. It also splits the roles between two people. However, Gwen's inner world, more specifically the lake in it, can be accessed by others via soul resonance. In other words, those involved in the retrieval can train for coping with it by resonating with Gwen and then jumping with her into the lake thats in her inner world. The result is the same as if one were trying to break the chains of memory. This allows Gwen to interact a bit more with Kid, and Kid to understand, through Gwen's memories, the sort of life she lives as a gatekeeper. I really feel like Kid would have the longest learning period when it comes to gatekeeping out of the members of spartoi, but that eventually he could embrace it. Especially their philosophy involving all forces being in balence, which is so similar to his symmetry compulsion that eventually, when put in that context, he'd adapt very well. Its the same way with his hatred of magic, once he realizes that the way Witches are on his world is not the way they should be, and not the way they are elsewhere, I think it will make him even more determined to make a 'Symmetrical' world. So out of spartoi he will need the most attention to come out positively. The rest of Michelle's Magic Tools are scattered throughout different gatekeeper worlds, in the possession of different gatekeeper groups, giving spartoi ample reason to visit the other gatekeeper worlds to retrieve them. In addition, I wanted to have the gatekeepers have a single source of magical assistance, the Harry Potter world, which the gods connected to the soul eater one by numerous tunnels in an effort to balance the black magic Mabaa had released. While the Ministry doesn't want anything to do with Shibusen, Dumbledore is very interested in making connections with Death. And he told the Astralgator that if Shibusen would allow him to help them, then he would help, allowing the upper echelon of fifth, sixth and seventh year hogwarts students to visit Shibusen to assist with missions. Students are warned about the destructive instinct known as "The Sway of Magic" and about Madness and told to return home if they feel these forces starting to overcome them. The Sway only exists on worlds where there is an extreme imbalance of magical and spiritual forces. Once you leave the affected world, it goes away if the affected witch has been exposed for /less/ than one hundred years. Witches in whom the sway has not yet taken hold are unaffected. therefore now that she's left, Eruka the frog will go through a period of depression and fatigue while her soul cleanses itself, and Angela Leone will feel absolutely nothing at all. Likewise Kim, who is both Meister and witch and who has magic that resists the sway naturally, will feel absolutely nothing. In fact she may actually feel a bit better than normal. A witch who's been under the sway for more than a hundred years will suffer more severe symptoms, much like those of a junkie in need of a fix. While agonizing, the symptoms are a good sign, it means their souls are slowly cleansing themselves of the Sway's toxic energy. However, old witches, such as Medusa, Arachne, and Mabaa, were they ever to leave their world, would experience no improvement or lessening of the sway at all. They'd been under its influence too long, its damage is permanent, and the only way to "fix" the Sway in them is basically to kill them and reincarnate them. Out of pity, sympathy, embarassment, anger, and other similar emotions, the Hogwarts students and the Order of the Phoenix feel that its their duty to help defend Shibusen and show the Meisters and weapons who live there that the way Magic is in their world, the way the witches act, is the exception, rather than the rule, and that things in their world /can/ be different from the way they are. They don't have to settle for a magic that only causes harm or a world who's very fabric is damaged. But the stakes of interworld harmony will escalate, at a meeting in which the gatekeepers use the mirror system and their portals to come there directly, to introduce themselves to Death, Dumbledore was supposed to come with Professor McGonagle as diplomats for their people. When Dumbledore doesn't show up, or check in, the Shibusen staff is puzzled, thinking that Dumbledore has simply changed his mind. But all the gatekeepers at the meeting /insist/ that Dumbledore would NOT simply disappear and fail to contact them. Scouting parties are sent to the general area, and find Aurors turning gatekeepers back at Hogwarts gates and a gigantic negacion barrier, maintained by some higher echelon fraccion, blocking all entry in or out of the castle. Hogsmede is a warzone, Zephly burned it to the ground and slaughtered everyone living there in search of a tunnel to Shibusen's territory and one of Michelle's magic tools. In addition, while Hermione Granger's com crystal shows her to be working on her mission to arachnaphobia, Harry, Ron and Ginny's comcrystals show them to be in pursuit of Zephly's men through the tunnel. Dumbledore had uncovered that Aizen was trying to get some of Voldemort's dementors, of whom the ministry has at this point lost all control over, to join him, tempting them with promises of getting to eat foreign emotions and souls. The reason being the only known way of fighting a dementor is with magic. Magic that Shibusen students are forbidden to learn and use. Even though it could save their lives. So When they are finally brought out, Aizen orders Zephly to have the dementors target the most miserable Shibusen student and perform the dementor's kiss on that person. It comes down to the dementors choosing between Chrona, Kid and Blackstar. Forcing some serious self examination by those three afterwards. Harry saves Kid from being kissed by the Dementors at the absolute last possible second. When dumbledore found this out, being dumbledore, he figured that Aizen would take steps to prevent him from warning Shibusen of the dementors Zephly was going to bring with him. So Dumbledore sent Harry, Ron and Ginny with Mifune, Buckbeak and Fawkes on an errand to interview Eruka the Frog, who was taken to Saint mungos after the rp's set to have Medusa's snakes removed from her body. They got back using their brooms and buckbeak by air, and spotted the devastation of Hogsmede from the air. Cut off from Hogwarts, Harry finds out whats going on using his invisibility cloak and flies into a rage, diving into the tunnel after Zephly, who outstrips him with sonido, turning it into a race to catch up to him. Harry and his friends have no choice but to join the mission at Shibusen. Once Zephly is defeated, the barrier cutting them off from Hogwarts will disappear. Minutes after Harry's departure the Order of the Phoenix arrives, cut off from their leadership, but given instructions to make sure Magic Tool "Seal of Saint Michelle" is brought to Shibusen safely. Fred and George are told that as soon as Eruka is cleared for out patient treatment at Saint Mungos, to take Angela and Eruka through the portal to the Bleachverse, contact Urahara, then contact one of the gatekeepers at Shibusen via an encrypted channel only receivable by Cybercom. That means its sent to ZP and Gwen. Gwen then moves to take Kid and Maka with her to retreive the Magic tool from Hogsmede, where a wounded Professor McGonagle is guarding it in whats left of the honeydukes secret passage. Michelle's Magic Tools Seal of Saint Michelle - Was found in Hogsmede, for sale in a shop but bought from it by Professor McGonagle once it was identified as a gatekeeper item. The Seal of Saint Michelle is an item used to purify corrupted souls and cross over ordinary souls. In the hands of a human, it allows them to perform the Konso ritual, or the Soul eater version of it "Soul Collection" (shown performed by Kid during the Baba Yaga arc in the manga). It also allows souls to be crossed over enmasse, meaning that if you have a crowd of pluses, you can Konso them all at once and at range. In combat, it releases souls taken by Dementors in the Kiss or by any other monster that consumes souls, such as Kisshin Eggs or hollows in the first strike "White Blast", then Konsos them/crosses them with a follow up move "White Crossing." If a user of it is fast enough, they can even snatch deceased souls about to be sucked in by an arrancar's Gonzui technique (performed by Yammy in their initial appearance in Bleach.) The Seal is also able to amplify one of the techniques from Michelle's White Grimoire, used on a possessed target "White Light Benediction." When used by a shinigami of any kind, "White Light Benediction" becomes a hybridized Kido/White magic spell. "White Light Exorcism." The seal is to Michelle what Brew was for Eibon. Death Fox A polished statue of a winged Kyuubi with Death's mask on its face, carved from salt crystal from the himalayas. It performs a function similar to the Avatar Test in Avatar the last airbender. A person places their hands upon it, pouring their soul wavelength/reiatsu/whatever into the statue. It changes color depending on what sort of power a person has, weapon, shinigami, meister, black witch, white witch, green witch, quincy, or spiritually aware human. The Argent clan uses it to determine what power its children have, because their bloodline and those of their employees in Flying Fox is very, very mixed in genetic and spiritual influences and thus a tool like this is needed to begin their training early and make sure everyone gets the right attention. However, its so powerful that it can detect abilities in children as young as two years old, including witches who have not yet Quickened (Awakened is the term in the manga) and shinigami and weapons before their powers emerge. The fox is kept in a shrine on the Argent Estate in Pittsfield Massachusattes, and is considered to be in safe hands for now. Flying Mongooses Saint Michelle created the flying mongooses for one reason, kill the members of Clan Gorgon (Mongooses have a tendancy to eat snakes, among other small animals, so it makes sense they'd be used to fight a snake witch such as Medusa.) She originally made four pairs of them, one for Death (currently in his possession somewhere), one for herself, one for Eibon, and one for Asura. Asura destroyed his at the time of his betrayal. The Mongooses are sets of bracelets, two, two and two, which spring to life in the presence of a Gorgon Clan Witch, becoming gigantic white winged versions of the common serengeti mongoose. (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/72/Serengeti_Mongoose.jpg) At 100 yards distance, they harden the wearer's soul wavelength into an impenetrable circular shield with Saint Michelle's seal, a winged fox skull in the same style as death's mask, on it. At 50 yards distance, the Mongooses spring to life and attack as the giant winged mongooses, and remain until their user dispels them or they haven't detected a Gorgon Witch's presence 24 hours after one retreated. Eibon's pair is given to Chrona, and Michelle's to Eruka in order to prevent Medusa from contacting them and getting information on the Gatekeepers out of them. The Flower of Death - Already explained, its contained in a secret room at the back of the Shrine where Asura was sealed. The secret room is the Tomb of Michelle and Joyeuse (acknowledged as the first weapon to bear the title of Deathscythe, gaining that status at the age of 75 and dying at the age of 99. In order to open the chamber to the Launch Pad, one must first remove the Flower of Death, which is the final seal. But the flower contains a copy of the memories of Death, Eibon, Asura and Michelle, again as described, up until Michelle's supposed death, with a memory of Death, Eibon and Asura holding a traditional witch's service to honor Michelle as a hero of her people at its conclusion. Also in the memories are past incarnations of Spartoi either as followers of Saint Michelle or as Weapons created by Arachne and Medusa, though only those of Soul and the Thompson sisters are mentioned by name. These incarnations are typically the opposite gender of the spartoi member's current incarnation, but still recognizable as their past lives by their physical appearance and behavior, and include a female Soul, (Selene Evans), Harold "Tommy" Thompson (Liz) and Peter Thompson (Patti), past life Kid will be named Kali, a green witch and one of saint michelle's followers and a magic using, male Maka. The Weapon Meister pairs are still the same as they are in the current incarnation. In the final battle shown in the Flower of Death, all of the spartoi past incarnations are shown fighting alongside Death, Eibon, and Asura, and the false Michelle was thought to have died throwing past!Maka and past!Soul out of the way of what would have been a death blow by Mabaa. These past incarnations will be presented in a way similar to the ones in the original Yugioh series and varying Yugioh video games involving the same concept. They are listed as being ancestors of the current spartoi members, but are in reality their past incarnations. This is also how Morgan realizes that she is Michelle, by being asked to "play" her and then examining her feelings afterwards. Michelle's White Grimoire - A keepsake of the Argent clan, it is to Michelle what the book of Eibon was to Eibon. The white grimoire is slated to be passed to Morgan, and she was made to study from it as a child, right up until her hollowfication, however, she considered it tedious and a bore, preferring to tinker with mechanical things or antiques or be outside in the forest instead. However, Morgan had access to the lower level and medium level techniques inside it. The book contains a complete list of Saint Michelle's magic tools, and how to connect them to Eibon's works. |

Name: Dinara Braginskaya Petname: Deena, Dina, Dara, Dira, Danna (Dahn-ya), Dasha Age: 17 DOB: January 15th Physical Appearance: 1. Long, pale golden blonde hair in curls. It’s long enough for her to sit on. 2. Eyes are purple, more so than violent because of how dark. 3. Her skin is very pale and nicely smooth. Puberty managed to leave her unmarred. 4. Lips are nice and plump, a delicate rosy pink, and gloss and lipstick is quite unnecessary. 5. She’s rather dainty height-wise, really only about 5’2”, but she’s packing some curves. (Think Anna Popplewell in the face, but Kat Dennings in the body) Personality: 1. Dinara is rather quiet with most, but is quite intelligent and sweet once you get to know her. She takes her lessons seriously and enjoys finding out knew things. 2. She can be rather fussy when she’s tired and has a stubborn streak. 3. Dinara does not possess an easy temper, but once she has been riled up, it is quite hard for her to calm down once more. She does not hold a grudge, but while she is angry, she will make your life hell. 4. She can enter a room and command it immediately, and though submissive, she will become dominant if you mistreat her. Powers: 1. She’s a hereditary witch, meaning her powers are inherit and blood born, not something she studied to learn. 2. Her power is strong, but it's hard for her to access it voluntarily. She needs training. 3. Harder magic comes to her far easier than most, but when it comes to simple things, she gets frustrated because she can’t master them as easily for some reason. 4. It’s been assumed she has a form of magic dyslexia, where things end up backwards for her. Because of this, she studies the way magic works and figures out her own ways to take them on/use them/discover shortcuts for herself, which is why she can learn harder things and use them effectively. |

Patronus Style - Harry and the gang dun been busy... Harry and his fellow DA members had been thinking about creating a combat style themed around their patronuses at the end of year five. When Jazra gave a quick ninjutsu 101 lecture to the DA members over the summer, Harry figured out how to fuse ninjutsu with white and green magic, giving the style a mixture of traits of the magic force and spirit force. Martial arts moves or dance moves are typically also brought into the mix to create a true Magical World five animals style. However, the tradeoff renders the attack unusable against Dementors, and it cannot be used when the Patronus charm is in use. Likewise "Expecto Patronum" doesn't work when the animals are summoned as the technique is essentially a "mutated" Patronus. The results was a fusion combat style unique to members of Dumbledore's army but quickly being adopted by the order of the phoenix and other Harry Potter verse Patronus users. The final building block needed was the incantation, and when Dumbledore told them about Shibusen's world they had it, using their patronus animal and mythological names or Japanese words (in homage to the gatekeepers and the jutsu they've fused with their magic) to create incantations similar to those on Shibusen's world. However, due to his parsel tongue and the curse placed on him by voldemort, Harry is able to control not only his own patronus animal, the Stag, but also Voldemort's own animal, the snake. Perfecting two power animal styles, fusing jutsu with magic, was quite difficult. However, his fame, and the popularity of the Patronus charm at Hogwarts (after he mastered it so well and taught it in the DA), has lead to the style gaining quite a following among young Potterverse magic folk currently studying at Hogwarts. Severus Snape is the only other user of this style to also have a two animal style, Doe and Snake, which was created by animating the snake on his Dark Mark tattoo. Snape is the /only/ Death eater able to use Patronus style, as his is a Dark wizard's soul (like the ones in Soul Eater verse) and should technically not be able to use a Patronus charm at all (he's the only Dark wizard in the entire potterverse able to do so.) Dual animal patronus styles are EXTREMELY rare, and typically the result of a high level curse. Typically the animal that is not their normal Patronus (the one that appears when "Expecto Patronum" is used takes a backseat, becoming a defensive or restraining force rather than outright attacking. Each Patronus style user can only use one element when fighting with their Patronus based magic jutsu, even if they could conjure all four elements with their world's native magic, this is due to the "elemental" nature of chakra energy and jutsu, which fuses with their magic and sacrifices variety for brute force. While Potterverse magic typically has severe difficulty with hollow and arrancar (Sectum Sempra becomes necessary to cut the mask or break through hierro), the fused nature of Patronus style allows a Potterverse witch or wizard to easily smash hollow masks and slash through hierro. Animagi, assuming they are not dark wizards like Pettigrew are also able to use the Patronus style, however, instead of a summoned animal, element themed, see through pieces of their animagi form appear on their body, gaining the "Natural weapons" of their animal for a physical fusion of Taijutsu, ninjutsu and magic. Harry's Style A. Patronus Stag Style - Flame Element - Honoo Ojika Shika Honoo (Flame, stag, deer, flame) A ghostly flaming stag attacks the enemy, harry's hands harden over with chakra, becoming as hard as a stag's hooves, allowing him to inflict powerful blunt force on the enemy. Golden antlers made of chakra emerge from his head, with which he can ram the enemy, acting as a stabbing tool and effectively doing the same as a Shibusen type wavelength strike. Harry's Style B. Patronus Snake Style - Flame Element - Adder Adder Jormugander Harry summons a red pit viper with golden flames on its head and tail and golden wings made from flame. The Pit viper is able to see even in total darkness and create a circle of light around its body in complete blackness, and its flames enable it to cleanse and counteract curses and to breathe fire. But the viper is better at defense, binding and support than the stag is, and is rather weak in attacking power beyond its venom. The viper is /also/ able to fly, carrying Harry on its back or flying alongside his Firebolt. Hermione - Patronus Otter Style - Water Element - Mizu Mizu Kawauso Ameboshi Kawauso Hermione summons a water version of her otter patronus, allowing her to either attack outright or control the weather within her line of sight. Like Gwen at Canyon One, she can use computer monitors, scrying, or video surveillance to extend her range with the weather control and water techniques. Otter style works like a somewhat weaker version of Gwen's hydrokinesis. Ron - Patronus Terrier Style - Earth Element - Earth dog earth dog Ron is able to summon jack russel terriers made out of earth, which can pull the enemy under or attack outright. In addition to being able to "bury" people, the Earth dogs can change their size, and they can act like a regular dog, both in behavior and abilities. However, their appearance would appear much like Golems do in the worlds in which they appear. The technique is, however, weak against water, as a good blast of water can completely /destroy/ the "Earth dog." Unlike the other mythological or Japanese inspired incantation's, Ron's is a reference to a dog sport made for small terriers, Earth dog, in which the terrier type dog must scent their way through a semi underground maze to a rat at the end. Ginny - Patronus Horse Style - Lightning Element - Slepnir slepnir thunder hoof slepnir Ginny summons an eight legged horse made of spirit blue lightning. Magic and chakra push through her nerves and into her muscles, generating lightning. This magic lightning covers her body, toughening her muscles. When the electricity impacts an opponent it induces hallucinations, double vision, and varying other aberrations in their senses of sight, touch and hearing. In addition, she can use a paralyzing curse of the lightning horse's head hanging from a tree or use the same technique to send a brief vocal message (something a normal Patronus is easily able to do.) In addition to the boost to her muscles and nerves, Ginny's hands harden with chakra and magic to create the same hoof effect Harry is able to do. McGonagal - Patronus Cat Style - Wind Element - Windego Cheshire McGonagal's style involves creating an enormous cat wearing glasses made out of wind and tinted with spirit energy with two enormous rolling eyes of air heated so hot it glows red, it rubs air molecules together to create claws made of lightning. The cat runs around her at high speeds, counteracting any attack physical, magical or spiritual by the sheer velocity its able to travel at. Like the fabled Windego of the canadian north woods, the cat can lift opponents and heavy objects high into the air or drag them so hard their feet are ripped bloody and their shoes shredded to ribbons. It can press an opponent to the ground with the force of sheer air pressure, able to pop eardrums and roar to unleash concussive blasts capable of shattering glass or barriers. Its a powerful fusion spell, and is easily able to extinguish flame and lightning types. Its able to fuse with water or earth techniques to become more powerful, and is easily capable of deconstructing and absorbing Soul eater verse golems in a single strike. McGonagal's Patronus style is inspired by two legends, the Canadian "Windego" that carries people off at such high speeds it leaves streaks of flame and scorched earth behind it, burning their bodies down to ashes and a skeleton from the sheer friction of its speed and Alice in Wonderland's "Cheshire Cat." the rolling eyes and enormous grin of Windego Cheshire are a nightmarish homage to the nonsense speaking, lingering smile of the most famous Brittish Shorthair cat of all time. Tonks - Patronus Wolf Style - Flame element - Hell wolves hell wolves Muspelheim Howl - Allows Tonks to blast a funnel of whirling fire from her wand, which makes a noise like a wolf's howl. Hel Hunting - A pack of wolves made of fire blasts from her wand, doing her bidding. Flames of Ookami - A defensive spell that covers Tonks in flames, which form into the shape of a wolf's pelt, including ears, snout and tail. The flames ripple briefly black when hit with a dark energy type technique, regardless of force. One gatekeeper suggested she use "Fenris" or "Fenrir" instead of "Ookami" only to receive a scathing look. Unwilling to use the name "Fenris" or "Fenrir" due to the infamous Death eater Fenrir Greyback. Luna Lovegood - A snow and lunar themed hare, enormous and with solid black eyes. Luna's ditsy nature means she's further behind in perfecting the technique than the others at Hogwarts who can use it. The attack by the hare is weak and relatively unfocused but /is/ able to obscure one's vision temporarily with a miniature white out. Arthur Weasley - A wind type weasel, similar to McGonagal's Windego Cheshire technique but more closely related to the myths of "Kamaitachi." The weasel is able to slice like a sword via air. Kingsley Shacklebolt - An ice type lynx, able to freeze the enemy, camouflauge itself perfectly in darkness or snowy landscapes, but leaves footprints made of frost on the ground. Its able to bind an enemy, slash with its claws, or freeze their legs up to mid calf. Cho Chang - Water swan, still under construction, though Cho is considering using the Ugly Duckling and Hans Christian Anderson for an incantation theme. Able to fly or change its density to carry others on its back and grow or shrink in size. Able also to bind an enemy with its wings or freeze its beak into ice to peck. Severus Snape - Able to summon a snake made of earth and leaves that can inject poison. Its armored against most physical attacks but is easily washed away by water or possessed by McGonagal's Windego Cheshire technique. Also able to use a doe made of sand which can deliver punishing physical blows and scrapes (similar to Gaara's sand style.) Snape's Patronus style can be shattered by water and wind type attacks quite easily. Ernie MacMillian - Still under construction, a large boar made out of earth with razor sharp tusks able to act as a battering ram. Seamus Finnigan - Still under construction, a see through fox made from fox fire. Able to paralyze an opponent with a glare. |

Soul Walker Tribe, Digimon, Pokemon and GK Soul Walker is a pokemon mutation mainly found in ghost pokemon or in non ghost type pokemon who know the technique "Perish song" and is thought to be a mutation in that attack's genes or a multi gene mutation with one component based in the codons responsible for the technique. Its recessive in non Ghost types, and semi recessive in ghost pokemon. Hence the reason for its rarity. Soul Walker pokemon serve the same function on their world that shinigami do for other worlds, and so the same sorts of rules apply to them, a few can mimic a Kido or flash step technique used enough times in their environment, but their most striking behavior is the ability to "sing" to cross a spirit to the other side. They are often gifted with one or two stats slightly higher than the others and some of them are even born with the soul cores allowing them to be gatekeepers or valkire. It is not uncommon for them to form an attachment to shinigami or to deathkeepers that they would not normally form to other humans. They also show a propensity for gathering in places or organizations such as Shibusen or gotei thirteen due to the similarity of purpose. The most common non Ghost soul walker is Lapras, due to the pokemon being nearly extinct the lack of diverse genetic material has resulted in roughly 39 % of the lapras species carrying or having an active form of the gene. Rather than being a good sign, Pokemon Researchers studying the species consider an active soul walker gene in Lapras to be a sign of ill genetic health. Lapras with a dominant soul walker gene frequently suffer from allergies or in their elder years arthritis. Conservationists are trying to breed Lapras positive for the gene with other water pokemon species in an effort to introduce newer and healthier genes to the Lapras. Soul Walker pokemon are part of their world's cycle of life and death, and possess the ability to soothe the souls of the dead over to the other side with their song, whether they know the move perish song or not. They move generally in groups or tribes according to species and evolution line. for example a herd with large numbers of Duskull, smaller numbers of Dusclops, and one or two Dusknoir. The tribe is usually lead by the pokemon with the highest amount of experience. And these pokemon gain the rank of "Elder." These pokemon have formed almost a Tribal heirarchy to their groups and have similar customs to some of the primitive tribes seen throughout history. Soul walker pokemon able to learn the move "Psychic" are often taught how to use a model skull as a telepathic modulator, allowing them to skirt normal difficulties with the human language barrier. Battling is considered secondary to the Soul Walker's main duty of shepherding or soothing dead souls, so they have no problem sacrificing the knowledge of some techniques for being able to communicate better with the human ghosts they're supposed to be taking care of. Soul Walkers have an innate drive to attack hollows and kisshins where they appear, sensing them to be an abnormality and a danger to their charges but unsure exactly WHAT sort of danger they are looking at. In the wake of Aizen's expansion in Search, the soul walkers went on high alert in and around Sinnoh, and different groups of them appear frequently to assist shinigami responding to a hollow attack. They appear frequently in Pokemon related RPs and will automatically respond to the presence of hollows or (in the soul eater rp) Kisshins, sometimes violently towards the monsters and trainers teaching a soul walker must have VERY good recall or command of their pokemon if training a Soul Walker to fight hollow or kisshin. Varying poltergeist phenomena (depending on the ghost's moveset) are the most common type of response to an invading or attacking hollow or kisshin. When Soul Walker pokemon have a chance to interact with Shibusen's world and assisting in extracurricular lessons, they form a habit of homing in on human souls that Kisshins may have squirreled away or harvested for later consumption, and are able to pinpoint with 97 percent accuracy any hiding place where the target kisshin may have placed their "stash." If they cannot locate or reach such "caches" to effect a rescue, Soul Walker pokemon will become very distressed, anxious, or depressed, and may even wear themselves out trying to find where a trapped or locked away soul has been hidden. Trainers raising one of these strange pokemon must be prepared for a unique single mindedness of action the normally silly Ghost type species do not possess. The vast majority of ghost pokemon are goofy and carefree, very easy to get along with and often very affectionate towards their trainers. Soul walker pokemon do not display the typical ghost type behaviors in that to them, their first and only instinct is to cross over or care for deceased souls. Its not uncommon for one of them to leave a trainer if they feel that trainer has gotten between them and this duty or cannot fullfill their instinct to do so. They will resist capture /and/ containment within pokeballs, display hyper vigilance most pokemon do not, and are prone to anxiety in reaction to negative or "evil" spiritual phenomena. While they have less difficulty working with a shinigami or valkire, or with a shibusen meister or weapon than they do normal humans, they are still considered difficult to train. Soul walkers tend to make staves, head dresses, jewelery or other instruments of feather, wood, shell, stone, leather, straw or bone, bearing a faint resemblance to native american, african, or asian tribal shamanic instruments of the same sort. Some asian ones even dress in miko, monk or onmyoji hats, kimono, beads or clothing. Because of their ability to use "Psychic" to translate their words into telepathic speech, older or more experienced Soul Walker ghost pokemon will often wear or carry skulls carved from rock crystal quartz by fire pokemon. These skull ornaments are not to be confused with the Crystal Skulls often referred to in occult lore, as they have been CLEARLY constructed by pokemon aid. Despite being pretty, they are critical tools for a Soul Walker and a sign of having achieved status within the tribe. The Soul walkers first appear in Search, where they respond to the presence of Gwen, Hitsugaya, Rangiku and the other shinigami by trying to use their singing technique to cross them over. The three of them feel varying sensations in response including pulling, tingling of the skin, stinging or aching sensations in the skin or joints, and dizziness or lightheadedness, but these efforts are largely ineffective in what the ghost pokemon were attempting to do, cross them over, showing that a spirit which has already been Konso'd or a shinigami is immune to their attempts at crossing. Soon after the initial encounter, a group of Duskull, Dusclops and a lone Dusknoir that are the soul walker tribe for Hearthome City and are found attempting to destroy a large mightyena hollow haunting and attacking the hearthome gym. The hollow was targeting Fantina, the ghost type gym leader who was starting to develop awareness of the spirit world through her continued exposure to ghost type pokemon. Fantina made Gwen, Hitsugaya and Rangiku's job harder by putting up "Monster traps" in her gym, as well as a maze like system of elevators that the hollow Mightyena was having difficulty solving in its efforts to get to her. The three of them and the Soul Walker Elder had to solve the puzzles in order to find the right path to fantina to save her from the hollow. After the incident was over, Gwen attempted to capture the Dusknoir elder, and was outright attacked by the elderly pokemon in response. The hearthome Dusk Tribe as they call themselves, stays only to find out more about the hollow, then departs. The group of them spread word of the strangers able to fight the monsters, the monsters themselves, and how to fight them to other wild pokemon and other Soul Walker pokemon, and in the years between the two 85 % of the pokemon world's soul walkers have heard rumors of these strangers from another world and the masked monsters they come to hunt. A group of five elderly soul walkers agree to teach humans about their tribes and what they do, and to let Professor Oak, who's specialty is pokemon social habits and interactions with people, to do research on them. Traveling to worlds with high levels of spiritual phenomena, including Shibusen's world, Bleach world, Soul society (and during Momentum Hueco Mundo) Professor Oak and Gary Oak, with help from Urahara, Professor Elm (who's focus is pokemon evolution and genetics), and a couple of members of fourth and twelfth divisions to make an official record of the habits and customs of these pokemon. While Stein is absent for most of this project, he /is/ present during its Shibusen leg, and his notes on the soul walker tribe's behavior towards Kisshins are widely available to pokemon researchers and gatekeepers in general. Their next appearance is in Momentum, where Twenty Six Elders from varying Pokemon Soul Walker tribes join the Gatekeeper Troops headed for Hueco Mundo. They're seen armed with staves with rock quartz skulls, and wearing extremely ornate head dresses, necklaces or belts carved from found materials. These elders split up, two to every shinigami division, and are shown to have talents similar to those of the captains or lieutenants that lead it or the division specialty of their chosen units. Despite being woefully underpowered for the task, they show themselves to have superior sixth senses and reflexes and to be both determined and resourceful. In SE the Soul Walkers appear again, a group of orphaned or tribeless young Soul walkers are residing at Best Friends under the care of three elderly Gengar who had lost their tribes. The ringleader of these gengar has the ability to use psychic attack on a model skull in order to translate, and carries a skull carved from rock crystal on a driftwood staff decorated with beads and feathers to communicate psionically with the humans who live there. Initially hesitant, the elderly gengar makes a deal, a Litwick, a rather timid Yamask, and a Duskull with the Soul Walker ability are willing to go to Shibusen on a trial basis. If they return in a week with favorable reports, then the Elderly Gengar will approach the school about a possible alliance between the Soul Walkers sheltering at best friends and Shibusen, but only if the report is favorable or shows that Shibusen is truely in need of assistance. The group of soul walkers that eventually joins Shibusen consist largely of Litwick, Gastly, and Yamask, but with a few random species mixed in. All of them are young and they lack a tribal elder. Eventually the Litwick that went with them forms an attachment to Kid and becomes the ringleader and elder for the group, displaying valuable organization skills rather early on, though its official rise to elder status is not for several decades more. The Soul walkers that attach to Shibusen tend to congregate near the seal shrine and in the school's lower levels, where the Litwick will often perch in any alcove that doesn't already have something in it. Pokemon and GK soul cores Several legendary pokemon are born with Gatekeeper soul cores, Mewtwo and Mew from the first movie as well as the second movie's Lugia are Valkire, assisting in domestic defense and generally refusing to follow human orders unless their goals as valkire coincide with a humans. This also explains the behavior in the Lugia legend of that particular individual trying to soothe the three birds when they threaten the world its supposed to be guarding. Mewtwo initially refuses to follow orders or join the gatekeepers when Mew attempted to tap him, until he is invited to tea with the newly appointed Crux. The two strike up a friendship when Crux presents Mewtwo with his own Valkire daggar and a full toolkit, something not normally given to pokemon born with a Gatekeeper's or Valkire's soul core. Mewtwo's agreement with Crux is that he join them as a full and equal partner, being given the same rights and freedoms as human Valkire. However, the trade off being that Mewtwo, as a full and equal valkire, must take full and equal responsibilities for his duties, that includes obeying whoever is assigned his commanding officer. Mewtwo is given special training and consideration, due to his past and the fact that team rocket is actively hunting him. Mewtwo generally will not follow any order he doesn't see as coming from a unit commander or sub commander, for example he will obey Yamamoto or Tsunade implicitly, but refuse to listen to Naruto or Rukia. ("As per my agreement with the Astralgator.") Mewtwo, Dialga, Palkia and Giratina, as well as Mew and Celebi, join in the battle of Las Estrellas in which all but Celebi and Mew show that they have the strength to fight lower level arrancars on equal ground to the shinigami and human Gatekeepers they fight alongside. In addition, the Time Space pokemon from Sinnoh /all/ have gatekeeper soul cores, and are largely viewed as being gods on their world, giving them nearly as much authority and reverence among the gatekeepers as the Deii. Dialga and Celebi are the personal summonses of generations of timekeepers, able to be called with a red chain or time flute item. Arceus is considered the Astralgator's corresponding pokemon. Palkia will respond only to a powerful Gatekeeper (typically only the Dagda, or Infinity ranked gatekeepers) and Giratina tends to have a higher focus on dead things or guardians of the dead and is associated with the Norse Goddess Hel and the Norse god Odin (the guardian in charge of the valkire in general). GK powered pokemon can learn element associated versions of zodiac and pantheon magic, though many experience a psychological barrier to doing so. While it is not only the legendary pokemon who are sometimes born with Gatekeeper powers, the lower powered GK pokemon are harder to find. But they aren't impossible. During Anubis' lessons with Kid, a dusknoir is frequently seen tending the shades in the pool or assisting the deathkeepers there, and is usually seen with a childsized doll or marianette acting as a translation module and is occasionally seen in memories involving the reincarnative cycles for some of the prior incarnations dating from between world war ii and the present, though early in these memories its seen with a human Deathkeeper who resembles the doll it uses to translate later on. Anubis remarks that the Dusknoir was the pokemon belonging to a prior deathkeeper, and has outlived its trainer and continues to do its duty without her. Anubis further comments on GK pokemon that they are the result of A gatekeeper wishing to experience what its like to be an animal, not just the experience of being a pokemon. He offers insight that its the Gatekeeper equivalent of humans being reborn as animals in hinduism and buddhism, and is not necessarily a bad thing, though some pokemon species are more prestigious than others. Digimon in GK Digimon GK are slightly more noticable, and results from the process in which digimon were formed going slightly awry and grabbing souls from the reincarnative que. Its common in digimon with the item "Holy Ring" and those marked with the sign of "Digital Hazard." The power is NOT exclusive to digimon carrying this item. http://digimon.wikia.com/wiki/Holy_Ring http://digimon.wikia.com/wiki/Digital_Hazard Digimon with items typically use these items as their gatekey, such as Kudamon's or Gatomon's ring or Wizardmon's staff. The soul core is integrated into their programming and is therefore digital like everything else about that digimon. Because of this it can be removed from that digimon's digicode. However, circumstances that would normally wipe a digimon's data such as a powerful enough EMP pulse do not effect aforementioned Soulcore, instead transferring the digimon to the nearest source of Data storage. A gatekeeper or valkire wishing to cross that digimon over has two options, return the shade left behind to the digital world and feed the digimon large amounts of stray data, or transport it to the summerland, where it is converted back into a biological soul over a course of 10 years (one one, and one zero, as in binary) and then lead into the pool of memories by the Valkire and Ministered by the Deathkeepers in the way a human would. Anubis and Thoth both have commentary to Kid and Maka respectively on this matter. The digital worlds are attached realms similar to the cluster forming the Soul Society/Hueco Mundo/Karakura triad but are actually much newer worlds than all the others, really only as old as the oldest computer in the inter. They were formed from stray data and programming and the myths that lay in the back of the human mind combining together. However, personal time tends to run faster in the digital world, and these worlds will typically experience periods of accelerated time. During these periods its possible to spend weeks in the digital world when in reality only minutes have passed. It also means that beings who have completely integrated into the digital world are often far older than their physical appearance and gives these worlds nearly as long a history as the Gatekeepers themselves. GK digimon possess the ability to pass their soul cores to another digimon. When this occurs, while its actually two seperate souls transferring the core from one to the other, its the same soul core. However, the GK Digimon who transferred their soul core will no longer be admitted to the pool of memories or the summerland upon their deaths. Their reincarnation cycle changes jurisdictions to whatever the local system of handling dead souls is for the digital world, if they die at all. A GK reborn as a digimon who changes soul cores is, for all intents and purposes, immortal at the cost of their GK common abilities and with a 99.9 percent chance of never being reincarnated or having to be reincarnated /again./ Several Deii protecting life and death had gathered themselves within the pool of memories to figure out what to do with the newly formed digital worlds when they originally formed. The Deii called out to those waiting to be reborn in the pool to see whether or not any of them wanted to be reborn as a digimon. Valkire abilities are for some reason non existant in digimon, though its unsure if its simply due to a quirk in their ability to draw soulcores into their reincarnation cycle, the space bending properties some of them display at the higher levels of evolution, or simply that no valkire that needed to be reincarnated answered the deii's call. In addition to those that later became digimon sovereigns and the devas, the three angels seen in frontier, and the legendary warrior spirits (also frontier), the known GK digimon are Adventure 01 and 02's Leomon, Elecmon, Ogremon, Wizardmon and Kari's Gatomon and Davis' Veemon. Tamers' Impmon/Beelzemon, Cyberdramon, Guilmon, and Renamon, DATS' Gaomon, Kamemon and Kudamon (series 5) and Xroswars' Dorulumon and Beelzemon/Baalmon. In addition, Vamdemon (Myotismon in the dub), and Lucemon (Frontier and Xros wars) have demonstrated not only shadowmancer magic but world warping abilities that have them classified as a Category 5 security threat species under GK classification and threat assessment abilities. While the human partners of GK digimon do not always HAVE to have gatekeeper abilities in and of themselves, they do benefit from learning some of the support skills GK use but that are not GK exclusive. Holy Light, for example, is a support skill that does not require a GK soul core to perform, but that gains a boost from having such a core. Its the light inherant to the "Wishing Dimension" seen at the end of digimon adventure 02 and called upon by those native to or descended from that dimension. Those with angel digimon are especially adept at learning this skill. Holy Light is a purifying and amplifying ability, with no direct attack value of its own, instead used to amplify other attacks and skills /especially/ techforce users. Even techforce users such as ZP or Major or those with a low prosthetic percentage (like Togusa or Saito) can gain a serious attack boost from the Holy Light technique. But its most common use is to purify evil digimon or boost attack power for other digimon. Holy Light has a fifty percent success rate in purifying Madness, can sedate hollows or a vizard sent into berserk mode by their inner hollow, can cause someone affected by madness to fall asleep, and has an 86 % chance of purifying the Sway of Magic when used on a witch. Digignomes while they don't have gk abilities in and of themselves, /have/ shown the ability to follow GK digimon into the other worlds, resulting in the accidental spread of digidestined into other areas. For example, Yuzu, Karin, Jinta and Ururu have their own partner digimon, resulting from a digignome that followed Takato into the battle with Aizen in momentum. They will spontaneously grant digimon partners and digivices (and other appropriate gear) to those who make a wish in their presence who are open to getting a digimon of their own. The theory is that the digignomes formed DIRECTLY from the techforce itself, and spread it with them, making them largely unaffected by magic or spiritual forces but /extremely/ reactive to the psi force and disturbances in it. They are difficult to reason with. And its usually a better idea to direct them where they're needed most, rather than trying to keep them out of a particular place you don't want them to be. GK digimon are often referred to with the title "Gate Guardian" and possess slightly more erratic abilities than other digimon. In addition, while they have GK abilities, the sovreigns, Devas, and 3 holy angels are not to be tapped and while they have special privelages, generally do not travel, instead serving a similar role to the Deii for that world in specific. They can transfer between digital worlds, but in general the Devas do not /want/ to. |

Kurohitsuji for those who have not seen so that they need not... Canon Plotline: Victoria is queen, the cutty sark is near retirement, scientific rationalism is starting to take root, but in the dark corners of London's Underworld and the far wild countryside, hints of supernatural things can still be found. Ghosts, demon dogs, demented killers, grim reapers, demons, angels, magic and curses, all have at one point been seen in Kurohitsuji I and II. The demons make a pact with humans for their soul in return for a wish, the grim reapers treat soul collecting like humans do accounting. Queen Victoria has appointed two earl families to try and gain control of the underworld, the Phantomhives were given the title "queen's guard dogs" and the Trancies were given the title "The queen's spiders." Ciel Phantomhive is a young contractee with demon butler Sebastian, his end goal to get revenge on his parent's murderers, but then, clues start popping up that a supernatural agency and the mysterious Trancy family may have been to blame. In the end, Ciel got his revenge, lost his memory to the Trancy family's rival demon Butler Claude, Claude and Sebastian got bested by a female demon named Hannah, who made a contract with the current Trancy heir Alois that either Sebastian or Claude die and that neither be allowed to get Ciel's soul. Claude dies in a dual with Sebastian, Ciel turns into a demon thanks to Hannah's contract with Alois, and Sebastian is doomed /forever/ to be in Ciel's service as his Butler. He cannot fullfill his contract anymore because Ciel is not human. Gatekeeper version of plotline: Gatekeepers have never liked Queen Victoria, though several versions of her have cropped up in different worlds. They avoid eras of her reign like the plague, and their coverage is light on those worlds, kept to small, highly trained elite forces who's training includes an emphasis on espianage and self reliance. The Head Gatekeeper is a slightly demented shinigami named Undertaker, who's personality makes him good company for personalities like Stein, Kurotsuchi, and other mad scientists. Undertaker is also one of Ciel's principle contacts in the underworld and his skills as an ME are almost as good as a modern ME like Ducky or Melinda Warner, both of whom serve DSI regularly. Gideon had given Gwen, Aston, Light and L orders to take turns evaluating Ciel and Sebastion as possible tactical and undercover recruits. Aston given the trouble he'd been having with a full schedule was unable to do much observing. Light however thought that he vaguely resembled Hitsugaya in attitude. All four noticed a penchant for vengeance but not an unmanageable one. Face to face contact was first made when in the middle of the night Gwen and Morgan were informed that there was a hollow heading for the Phantomhive Estate and they were to go immediately to kill it. Undertaker introduced them. Gwen left a few goodies behind for Ciel and Sebastian to test how they dealt with them (IE, a pokemon egg each, one cat pokemon for Sebastian, one dog pokemon for Ciel.) Gwen came back once a week to give stiffer self defense training to Ciel's staff and play chess with him. However, covertly she tracked how he investigated his parent's murders as well as how he handled it when he found out the queen had been involved. The very next day Ciel and Sebastian were approved for tapping, they'd been chosen as the joint Savants of Set, the Egyptian God of destruction and vengeance. Set wanted two Savants because Ciel's contract with Sebastian made telling which of them was his proper chosen impossible. More importantly, they (aside from Death the Kid) or rather one of them, were considered Deathkeeper candidates. If only Set could tell which one. It is implied that Set doesn't care about discerning which one of them is the actual candidate and would rather send them both with Del to the gates without regard for possible consequences, and Set has been repeatedly criticised for this attitude. However, Ciel has a self destructive attitude on the matter. Gwen, Morgan and Undertaker then tracked down Sebastian, who had by then achieved his master's revenge and was about to consume him. Gwen found rival demon butler Claude about to ambush Sebastian, cut off his arm (which would grow back but temporarily halt the contract, and steal Ciel's soul from him to consume. Gwen attacked Claude and exposed him and braved the after affects of Sebastian's Wrath towards Claude which included trying to blow the island they were standing on apart. While this mini drama was going on, Washu, Kurotsuchi, Nemu and ZP discover the original labs the Four races were created in while taking inventory of department resources on Shield Station, and that the shinigami were actually Avatars of Death rather than the original first race. Since ZP and Washu are mainly computer people, Stein's presence is requested to assist them in an inventory. A DNA bank with the original human and finished transformed DNA of every original member of the first races, plus the life and death avatars, is found making DNA comparison and complete tracing of their Geneology possible. Gwen draws Sebastian and Ciel into being Set's Savants and joining her. She gives them a few nights rest (and sends Ciel to Unohana as he'd been shot at least four times that she could see by the queen's guards.) Two mornings later Ciel and Sebastian are summoned with Gwen and Aston to Gideon's office. Gwen is put in charge of Sebastian and Ciel's welfare (since Sebastian certainly qualifies as a parolee and Ciel as a Protected Ward. However any non evaluation, diplomatic, or humanitarian mission they are sent on is under Gwen's command, their training and all other missions are under Aston or Gideon's command. Stein decides to test out the DNA bank, sends Gwen Sebastian and Morgan to visit the Library that the shinigami on Sebastian's world live in. The library is used to hold the memories of non gatekeeper mortals in cinematic or book form, known as Cinematic Records or Doomsday Books. He wants samples of shinigami, demon and angel DNA. Gwen manages to win the respect of uptight supervisor William T. Spears and the obsession of colorful Grell Sutcliff. Gwen ends up arresting Grell for earlier offenses and making him a DSI parolee. While he has never let her forget it by calling her "Jailer" and repeatedly sneak attacks her with his chainsaw deathscythe, Gwen always seems to sense him coming and knock him over with the least amount of force and pain. As a marked Sadomasochist, not inflicting pain is the easiest way to tell Grell "I hate you!" The samples are run through the new database, but Gwen wants Sebastian to submit a sample on a hunch. Having observed how Sebastian acts toward Ciel Gwen doesn't quite believe he's a demon, and turns out to be right when Sebastian, figuring she couldn't possibly be right, agrees. It turns out Sebastian's people are actually shinigami who had been mutated by the dark energy in the netherworld realm they live in and who's memories had been largely knocked out by sheer age. And what their bodies do with the souls they consume puts an all new spin on the term "Hyperfertile." It turns out they are living conduits for reincarnation, capable both of birthing and siring. The souls they consume are reborn as their children, and without a human soul inside them they cannot produce more of their own kind through having offspring, they will always have a human or the species of the other parent. Sebastian's world and perception of reality is tossed upside down and rolled over and over by this discovery. He blushes furiously and Ciel resents both him and Gwen for awhile because of it. Sebastian's personality does a massive shift though not a 180. He views his young master in a far different light and wishes very much to eventually have Ciel as his child either by siring him with a woman or birthing him as a man. The discovery of Sebastian's people's real species sparks a month long bitter conflict between rebels who really really want the gatekeepers out of their business and don't want any association with the other shinigami, and those of Sebastian's people (in the majority) who want greater contact with their fellow reapers and knowledge of their past. And it all comes down to which outcome provides the most activity for eternal beings repeatedly bored with immortality. Somewhere in here, Claude's rebellion is quelled quickly and the conflict cools down to small, guarilla style conflict. For most of the time the remaining fight with Claude is going on, Aston and Gwen are in control. Gwen acts as an aggravator, driving Claude and Alois to despairation and haste. Aston figures out how Sebastian takes advantage of the chaos that results. But due to the conflict at Shibusen and the bombing of Wizarding London prior to that, Gwen and Aston both must leave the final battle up to Sebastian and Ciel entirely. Instructed to finish it quickly and run tactical simulators for the new Gatekeepers coming in from Shibusen and tactical simulators for Shinigami-sama and his staff, Sebastian underestimates female demon Hannah Annefellows. Hannah under contract with Alois makes Sebastian fight Claude to the Death over Ciel, then cruelly makes sure Sebastian will serve him eternally as a fellow "demon in hell." Gideon relieves Ciel of duty temporarily while Ciel cuts all ties with his mortal life and becomes a Gatekeeper full time. The preparations end on his 13th birthday, wherupon he is determined to have Aston officially include him in battle. End on present point in SE RP. In the final battle with Aizen and the battle with Ivan, Ciel stands beside Gideon, Nate/Sophie together, Michael Weston, L and Near, and Shikamaru as tactical command. End proposed GK timeline for Kurohitsuji, plz review and approve... Species and Classes in Kurohitsuji, canon first, GK after Demon: The role of a demon is to tempt and lure a human prone to wickedness or wicked behavior into a contract with them and upon its completion eat their soul. The demon realm consists mainly of dark fields of navy blue and lunar white roses. Roses are a significant plant to them. They have extremely refined senses, far higher than a shinigami or human, high amounts of endurance and speed, can regenerate from any wound inflicted on them /even/ an amputation or mortal wound. They percieve a soul's energy and emotions by scent and by extension the afterflavor as the olfactory senses are connected to the taste buds, rather than by sound or feel. They are extremely possessive of a contract holder and will defend them to the death, but individual demons vary in how they view the contract holder and the amount of possessiveness they show. In GK, many of Kurohitsuji's "demons" are facing an identity crisis, discovering that all along they were descendants of shinigami who had the bad luck to settle in the wrong realm. More embarassing is the discovery that their contract holders souls are the only way to reproduce their kind with any guarantee /and/ that they themselves are crucibles of the very cycle of life and death they thumbed their noses at. They were for the most part lost /before/ all this happened, now many of them are reinventing themselves or wreaking vengeance upon their local version of Earth for all the pain and suffering the other shinigami on their world put them through. For them, no amount of compensation or "i'm sorry" will suffice. The gatekeepers are unsure of how to handle them, hollows are hunted by the gatekeepers because they tie up souls and therefore unbalence time and space by keeping them from flowing through the cycle. Kisshins are hunted by the gatekeepers because their souls sap away the memories, powers, ecetera of their victims souls and pass them into whatever their appropriate afterlife is, but the process creates massive distortion in space and time. But the Kurohitsuji "demons" are distortionless baby making/reincarnation machines who literally act in place of an afterlife realm for their victims. Their souls forward the memories of the consumed to their proper locations rather than burning them for energy. Not only that, but their bodies have a second nerve node in their abdominal cavity that acts as a sort of "second hippocampus" solely for transmitting memories, including their own if need be, to appropriate afterlife realms for storage. It makes them unique among all the species on all the worlds and explains how most of them can only remember about 2k years of their recent lifetime. The gatekeepers have given Sebastian's sub species (after putting the matter to a vote amongst them) the classification name "Shinigami Obakemono." Shinigami - These shinigami were given the classification name "Shinigami Mirai" for their dependance upon their eyes to perform their duty. They are capable of watching or reading the memories of mortals in the form of "Cinematic records" and "Doomsday books" and review these supernatural biographies to determine which humans should die on the normal date and which should be allowed /extra/ lifespan time because their earthly deeds have a profound effect on human life. Their glasses provide protection from the memories they're collecting overriding and literally attacking them during a soul's death throws. Their weapons are always in the form of beurocratic objects or gardening equipment. Varieties seen include the classic scythe, scissors of varying sizes are the deathscythe of someone who's violated protocol and is being punished for it. A long handled pruner is the favored model of Shinigami Willian T. Spears, while Grell prefers a Chainsaw (one that appears to be unauthorized) and their trainee Ronald Knox, is shown with a lawnmower. A sickle is the deathscythe given to intern level shinigami. The fastest way to knock one of them out of battle is to destroy their glasses, which make them vulnerable to a follow up attack or to the memories they were sent to try and collect. All Kurohitsuji shinigami have two irises for their eyes, one green one gold, red pupils, and white sclera. Black or brown hair is common, but occasionally red, silver, and blonde show up as hair colors. Most of them are bureaucrats in personality and are overly concerned with courtesy and protocol. The gatekeepers found easily made allies in them, and the sharp eyes of shinigami Mirai make them frequent assistants in tactical, undercover and support functions. They are quick to spot or sense memory manipulation and find it easy to counteract memory tampering due to their massive experience with memories and handling them. All Deathkeeper candidates must spend a few months training with them prior to going with the Timekeeper to the Gates of time so that they learn how to keep their individuality and head in the timestream. The deathkeeper candidate is then given a set of black wire or plastic framed glasses that act as the supernatural equivalent of photogrey lenses, filtering out interferance from varying supernatural energies so that they can see through both distortion that could be hiding souls and natural disturbances that could obstruct their view of an area. Occasionally psychotic or eccentric behavior appears in Shinigami Mirai, this is tolerated for the most part and punished by their peers. But they and their DNA is very stable in regards to genetic illness. As recently as 5k years before Feralae took Astralgatorship, it was not uncommon for their strongest or smartest to marry into other shinigami bloodlines as a way to prevent genetic diseases. However, after noting how fast their mutation rate accelerated when their genetic material left their world, this practice was halted a thousand years before the founding of the Gotei 13 and contact cut off a century or so before Yamamoto Genryuusai's birth. All Kurohitsuji shinigami or shinigami descended beings are discerned by the second hippocampus node in their lower abdomen and Shinigami Mirai are no exception. They have, however, figured out how to use this organ to compile their cinematic records and store their own memories elsewhere for retrieval. The second hippocampus is /not/ responsible for creating doomsday books and as such other shinigami are capable of learning how to make them. However, a cinematic record is something only Shinigami Mirai is capable of collecting and initiating. Angels - Kurohitsuji Angels are essentially memory parisites. They tamper with the way a soul feels about memories, for example they can't force Aston or Gwen to forget being raped or erase ZP's memory of Feralae's supposed death. But they can change how someone feels about their memories. Its possible for an especially stubborn human to resist their tampering but most cannot. The shinigami view them as a blight because of the damage they're capable of doing to the souls that they review. Angel views are very extreme, considering all sex, crippling disease, amusement, idleness, drug use, alcohol use, and other diversions and pleasures unclean and worthy of purging. They are not hermaphroditic, but instead change genders and names at the drop of a hat. Their habits with those they consider unclean are psychotic, bizzare, and as sadistic or more so than the demons they rail against. To them children are the only pure humans in existance. the GK know full well that these beings are not angels, but Gwen had to engage five of them in skirmishes to gain enough samples for the Tech department to analyze to determine that they too were shinigami. The angels didn't care, nor did this spark nearly the reaction it did from the kurohitsuji demons. Rather, they responded to this by frequently attacking Gatekeepers that come to their World. Those with cyberbrains or cyberized memories in some form are completely immune to an Angel's tampering. For what reason is unclear, theories include everything from Angels are incapable of attacking something backed up on a cyberbrain; Angels type affiliation, soul, and their strong positive polarity make it difficult for them to attack a tech affiliation, neutral polarity ability like Cyberization; Angels simply haven't figured out how to bypass a cyberbrain yet, the list of theories Section 9 and varying members of the tech department have tossed back and forth are all along the lines of incompatibility, but what they're incompatible with is proving difficult to figure out in formal research due to the lack of data. To angels, dimensions are no barrier, they penetrate them easily and quickly. While attacks by them are more common lately, they have always been disliked by the Gatekeepers, who believe that a human must choose good or evil. Very often they are hunted, and Undertaker usually gets a call on a yearly basis to reverse memory tampering by an angel. Its rare but occasionally the angels produce a gatekeeper or valkire that passes evaluation. The other angels typically respond by cruelly disfiguring the chosen tapped and all taplists are magically encoded when transmitted to prevent an angel from reading them and knowing that one of their own is about to be tapped and to prevent them from tampering with gatekeepers on the taplist. |

Dream Walking the Beginner's Guide Dreamwalking is a specialized gatekeeper ability more common than the others. Dreamwalkers have the ability to walk on the astral, aka astral projection, while asleep. They can induce this ability in others temporarily. They act as anchors for people who do not have the ability but have to walk on the astral, safety guides to return their minds to their bodies. The Deii all have the ability to induce astral projection, summoning the mind of a person or persons to an area in space that they are focusing their consciousness on. Technically the Deii have control of large portions of the space time fabric, too large for them to be said to be "located" anywhere. The idea is much like the theory of quantum uncertainty but with a limited range. However, the Deii do not need to limit this ability to areas within parts of space time they control. Sometimes circumstances or landmarks can determine scope and range. Ganga for example is tied directly to the Ganges River in india, and can only appear to Hindu devotees that have bathed within it or to the general populus along its banks. Janus, the Roman God of Doors, appears to people, especially ones in leadership roles, and to nations that are in a state of transition. For example, he appears to the Soul Society Leaders both Gotei and Clan in rp "Search for Ikkaku and yumichika" to force each one to confront their character weaknesses in preparation for facing Aizen. In cases where the person being visited is unusually closed minded and has no natural dreamkeeping ability of their own, it is possible for a person to not be able to recieve parts of the message being sent. In these cases the Deii or Dreamkeeper may call in an ancestoral shade (one of the person's family ancestors) to act as a translator, this is especially common in shinigami and white lighter bloodlines, for example if a Deii cannot get through to Piper (post Leo's death) they may call Leo's shade (a family guardian) to translate. Known shades that are able to act in this capacity include Hisana and Kiron Kuchiki, Yoruichi's deceased younger brother Setsuma, Lin Feng (soifon's deceased niece), Michelle Argent de Nostradamus the White, Helena "Hel" Hoshihoshi (Lord Death and Death the Kid's bloodline founder), in many cases these are either shades of a Bloodline's founder, an ancestor that lived a similar life to the visited, or a deceased loved one of the visited. It can never, ever EVER be a past life. There are a few that can consort safely with the shades of their prior life or extend that capacity to others in a dreamkeeper state. The Soul keeper (Astraea/Aston when he was merged with her), Deathkeeper candidates or keepers of the Pool of Memories, the Deathkeeper himself, Timekeepers (though its more common to do this when they're in training, as it helps keep the memories in the shade seperated and under control) and a Deii may do so seperately to a dreamkeeper or a person being protected by a dream keeper at their /sole/ discretion. Certain Deii do this more than others or only appear to certain people. While Kali, who is the Mistress of the Soul Keeper and all Gatekeepers involved in judicial duties, (and therefore Astraea is not her exclusive "pet" as Kali puts it), Kali's husband Shiva prefers to appear to Aston as his astral guide when dream walking is necessary. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiva However, once Aston seperates this may end up changing. Shiva appeared to him because Astraea is a subordinate of Kali. Dreamkeepers also have an instinct for interpreting dreams or dream symbols not in terms of predicting the future, but in terms of psychological analysis. Prophetic dreams are not rare, but there are distinct differences to the dreamer between a prophetic dream and a dream of symbolism and by interpreting the entire content and taking into account the dreamer's personal knowledge. When a Dreamkeeper or deii gives a non dreamkeeper dreamkeeping ability and the ability to affect their environment its called "Empowering" and is similar to the "Enchant" phase in Magic the Gathering. When a Deii "Empowers" a person, they temporarily override that person's natural soul traits and replace it with their own. A deii "Empowerment" cannot be sustained for very long without the person's soul starting to copy their traits leading to permanent damage to powers. Dreamwalking should not be done by non dreamkeepers on consecutive nights. It can cause some serious sleep disorders by doing so, it can induce coma in a worst case scenario and cause major disruptions in sleep/wake cycles. However, dreamwalking can also allow someone to experience days in personal time in a single night in cases involving reviewing the past or communing with ancestors under the supervision of a God. In terms of information gathering, its even more efficient than using the timestream and more easily accessible given the limitations on Timekeeper abilities and the danger the timestream poses to non Gatekeepers. The record for longest time spent in a dreamwalking state goes to Takato, though Gwen doesn't acknowledge the record because she claims supplements Stein formulated to help increase his efficiency and lower the risk of complications acted as performance enhancers and therefore he should be disqualified. Shiva's rates of appearance to Aston on the Astral declined after he seperated from Astraea. But the Deity still comes to him at varying points all his life and visitations were renewed when Ororo was Pregnant, Shiva also repeatedly urged him to marry her, but then again, he is Kali's husband. XDDDD and Hindu Gods love Marriage a /lot/ more than most. |
