The beach, it was a rather nice place to visit for one who had never left his village before. His father had insisted on the fact that he needed to leave the village once in a while, or else his view of the world would never grow and blossom, leaving him totally unprepared for the day when he joined the defenders of the village. So, in response, Kage had simply nodded and asked his sister where a good place to start would be. She had responded the beach; an area a few miles away from their village that stretched for what seemed to be an eternity, and said she would gladly take him there that day if he wanted to, but that he needed to dress warmly. He had accepted her offer, and an hour later, here he was, his sister having left, saying that she would return a few hours later once she was done with his patrol, and to enjoy himself however he could.

Dressed in a long sleeved black coat, the symbol of his small village added on to the back, white shorts which included his basic supply of weaponry, black sandals and a simple white headband, he seemed rather dull if anyone would chance to see him, most of his figure hidden underneath the clothing, and his eyes hidden enough by the headband so that few would be able to identify him as a Hyuga right off of the bat. He just stood on the beach, the cool breeze from the sea sending shivers through him, making it rather obvious why his sister had told him to dress warmly. He just stared at the beautiful blue waters as they cascaded over the pure white sand. It was rather beautiful, just like the forest around his house, but he didn’t even smile as he continued to look out in to the pure blue sky. What lay beyond that expanse less blue water? He wasn’t even sure, this being the farthest away from his home that he had ever been. His hands in his pockets, he sighed.

‘Well, he was right, yet again. To travel as a ninja… I will have to someday be used to seeing these new sites… But I don’t want to pull my eyes from this one… Training yet again… How so like him…’

Yggdrasil Xera, just another ordinary girl who was a ninja. She had just wanted to do some fighting, to prove how strong she was and has gotten. Power meant everything for her, and she wanted a lot of power so she could settle her own personal problems.

Xera, wearing a shirt that was black, shorts that were black, and sandles that were black, wasn't having too good of a time at the beach. She had taken off her shirt, in which her breasts were wrapped heavily around by bandages. She threw her shirt on the sand and walked into the water, and flicked her purple out of her face.

"Man...I'm not used to hot weather at all..."

She looked around, as she was getting bored already. She just wanted to fight, that's all. She looked around and saw a boy, who had strange looking eyes, staring out at the beach. She decided to walk over towards him, grabbing her shirt and rolling it into a ball and holding it in her left hand. She finally got over there and looked at him as he was still staring at the ocean.

"Hey....guy.....what are you doing staring at the ocean water?" asked Xera.

Lost in thought, Kage quickly found himself confronted by another person, a ninja by the looks of it. Turning his head, hiding his shock in an instant, he just looked at her, mentally cursing himself for his lax guard. He could have enjoyed the water just fine and kept his guard up, but he hadn't, and had the girl been someone intent on killing him, though he did not have any enemies like that yet, he would have been dead before he even realized what had hit him. She was an attractive girl in her own right, but at the same time had a deadly sense about her, as most ninja did. But, at the same time, she looked younger that Kage did, and even if she wasn't, he was not the kind to immediately analyze a female to the last detail simply because of an overactive libido. His voice not overly cold, yet not showing any warmth, he responded to her, trying to hide as much emotion as he could, which wasn’t hard since he had not smiled in months.

“I was simply admiring its beauty. And you?”

It was simple, not revealing much, yet at the same time not lying in the least. That was his reason for being there, yet he did not reveal his reasons for seeking out such beauty. Nor did he reveal the fact that underneath the coat, his muscles were slowly tensing, getting ready to avoid any attack that she threw at him if she did turn out to be hostile. He was not at the level of a shinobi in which he was able to be relaxed one minute and battle ready the next, so this was the best he could do.

Xera grabbed the right side of her shirt with her right hand and was holding the shirt in front of her. Quickly, she put on her shirt and looked down at her weapons pouch, in case this guy wanted to actuallt fight her.

"I'm just here so I can relax for a few moments..." said Xera as she slowly bent down to both of knees.

She looked up at the older boy and smirked. She picked up some sand and let it slide down between her fingers. After all the sand was gone, she grabbed another handful of sand with her right hand and stood back up. Clenching the sand in her hand and having an evil smirk on her face, she was staring at the boy.

"Hey...would you like to have a quick fight?" asked Xera as she jumped back about two feet.

She still held the sand in her right hand and had her left land dangling down by her side with her fingers constantly moving while waiting for an answer.

Averting his eyes from the girl at the mention of a fight, he stared at the waves again, still entranced by the sheer magnitude of the water in front of him. His father had told him about those who traveled around searching for strong opponents to test their skills on. But, at the same time, most of the techniques that Kage knew were meant for doing serious damage to the body, not for trivial games on testing one’s skill against another. However, at the same time, rejecting such an offer would leave him wide open to the girl’s attacks is she decided to launch them.

"Not particularly. Fighting is a way of defending yourself against another, and to fight half heartedly without the intent to kill is a waste of time and energy. Though, I have a feeling that that kind of answer will not satisfy you.”

Kage sighed and then slowly turned, walking down the sandy shore away from the girl. He was not walking away, but simply testing how firm the sand was under his feet. To use Taijutsu in such a condition would be extremely hard, which meant he would have to rely on his airborne attacks more than anything else to get close, and then the Gentle Fist to finish it off quickly, aiming directly for the vital organs to cause enough pain to the point where she would have to collapse. And the entire time, he would have to focus on avoiding any jutsu or long ranged weapon, whichever she favored. Against his father or his sister, this would be a perfect training exercise, however against this girl, it was different. While he was moving, he reached in to his pockets, slipping on a pair of metal gloves that he constantly kept with him, tightening his fist around them. The added weight skewed the Gentle Fist, but it gave the Strong Fist an extra punch, and that is what he wanted. If he had to fight, he did not want the Gentle Fist as full strength and accuracy. Stopping, he turned to her, staring straight at her with his eyes set on her, as if staring through her.

“If you wish to fight me, then fine, I will fight you. I will not say I wish to do this, but if it is what you really want to do, we will be fighting whether I want to or not. However, it is impossible for me to use anything less than one hundred percent of my strength, so be prepared. Now is this what you really wish?”

"Yeah, whatever.....I just want to have a fight with you...." said Xera as she let the sand slip through the cracks between her fingers as she held both hands in front of her chest, ready to a seal before the fight had even started. All she wanted was to test her strength to see if she was strong enough to kill the people in her clan that she hated.

Xera looked at her opponent's body and realized he had a thicker tone for people his height. She jumped about five feet back and extended out her left arm while bring back her right arm back to her side. She figured her opponent used taijutsu based on the build of the character, not because he was a Hyuuga. Hell, Xera never has heard of the Hyuuga clan in her life anyways, so she didn't even know their fighting style.

I'll start this little fight off....

Xera had moved her right hand to the pouch on her belt to go through some weapons, and she finally took a kunai out, and then transferred it to her left hand. Slowly, her left hand was extending out, with her fingers coiling around the kunai. She was prepared to throw the kunai at her opponent if he was ready to start the fight.

"You can start the fight, weird eyes," said Xera with a look of determination in her face.

‘Well, I guess I have to then.’

He watched her jump back and pull out a kunai, which caused him to believe instantly that she was smart enough to tell body types, if nothing else, or knew of the Hyuga name and what it is that they specialize in. Either way, he was in a bit of trouble, as he guessed he would be using a lot of energy just to get close to the girl, though he did know how to throw Kunai and throwing stars well enough to possibly be able to stop any long distance attacks by that measure, but that just left the largest part that he wasn't sure about, her Ninjutsu or Genjutsu skills, something that he wasn't exactly talented in when it came to any kind of the word. With a quick push of chakra to his eyes, the outlines disappeared as he summoned up the Byakugan, staring straight at the girl and everything within a 190 degree radius of him. If she tried anything with chakra, he needed to be sure he could at least see what was going on before she released it, even if he didn't know what was going to happen because of it.

His hands quickly moved to the pouch at his side, grabbing a kunai in each one before he blasted off of the sandy ground, sending a spray of sand behind him as he quickly moved towards the girl. He was planning on the quickest victory possible, and if that failed, the longest failure that he could muster. If he wasn’t able to get close enough to his opponent, then he would simply try and outlast her, which would not be easy with the Byakugan, but it was the best he could possibly think of at the moment until he closed the distance between them.

Xera looked up to see that her opponent's eyes had changed somewhat, with the veins around his eyes popping out. Xera had just watched Kage quickly grab two kunais, one in each hand, and started running towards her.

I think he might be too fast for me...throwing the kunjai would be a huge waste....

Xera had quickly transferred the kunai back to her right hand and put it back in her weapons pouch. Her left arm returned to normal as she was ready to perform a quick jutsu and back away from Kage. She had both hands in front of her as she performed the Rat, Snake, and Rat seals quickly before Kage got within striking distance. She then slammed her right fist into the sand, and the pink, poisonous pollon had arose into the air, and if Kage would breathe it in, he'd be temporarily weaker [stamina wise.]

Xera looked on as Kage was still running towards her, being only a few feet away from the pollon, and then about ten feet away from Xera.

"Yeah...I'm gonna have to play defense...." mumbled Xera as she seemed ready to perform another jutsu.

Xera normally didn't fight people who used taijutsu, so she would have to be extra careful and try to stay out of harms way, but doubt she could keep this up the whole time, due to taijutsu users being faster and stronger.

Kage concentrated on her hands, watching as she focused chakra in to them as she formed the seals. But it wasn't just her hands, it was almost like her entire body was being sent chakra, but it wasn't strengthened chakra. His eyes narrowed as he continued his approach, not stopping, however that would turn against him within the second as she slammed her hand down on to the ground. The pink pollen rose in to the air, and she seemed to disappear behind it, as if caught in a smoke screen of sorts. It was an extremely impressive jutsu, and he cursed himself for not slowly down, as he should have with a three sealed jutsu. However, she was not safe from him due to this smokescreen, he was able to see right through it, seeing her chakra, not her body.

He rushed through the cloud of poison, not having enough time to stop, and not wanting to stop inside of it, however the second he was through, he found something extremely easy was becoming harder and harder. Skidding to a halt, he quickly held his wrist to his throat, coughing as he did. His breathing was slightly labored, the poison's effect coming in to play. His father would have laughed at such an obvious technique actually working. Glaring at the girl, he quickly tossed one kunai in to the air, as if tossing it away, his hand reaching for his shuriken, three resting between his fingers, and then tossed them quickly at her before catching the other kunai, trying to catch his breath the entire time. Her technique had worked, since he was temporarily slowed down, but he would adapt soon, giving her very little time to react, which he hoped to fill with her dodging the shuriken, or blocking them, showing him her skills or a jutsu with them. Either way, he was going to learn something about her.

'I won't... let her catch me in that cloud again... Damn it...'

There was a quick smirk on Xera's face, but it didn't last long as she saw Kage go through the pollen, with three shurikens coming straight towards her. She didn't have much time to react, so she just jumped up into the air, avoid two of the shurikens, but one of them had hit her in her right thigh, and blood started trickling down her shorts and down her leg. She just ignored the slight pain as she landed back on the ground, ready to attempt another strike on this ninja.

I have to distract this guy long enough....let's see if it can work....

Xera looked at Kage, who wasn't that far from him, and she started running towards him. She was actually gonna go in close to him, even though she has terrible taijutsu skills, but it would be the only way that her plan might have a chance of working at all.

Can't let him damage my left arm....

Xera took out a kunai from her weapons pouch and firmly gripped it in her right hand as she had gotten close to Kage. She slid on her butt and stopped, sitting in a crouching position, with her right knee sticking up and her left knee resting on the ground. With her right hand, she went for a swipe towards both of his knees, trying to make him jump backwards.

Unknown to Kage, while Xera attempted her poor slash at Kage, she had gathered chakra in her left arm and thrusted it into the ground, letting her arm branch and root out underground. She needed some time for her Shiba Ude to work, so that's why she was trying to fight up close.

'What?!'

Kage watched as the girl, who had seemed to show no interest in close range fighting started to close the distance between the two of them. He concentrated with the Byakugan, focusing his chakra to the tips of his fingers, just as he had before, learning how to use the new style of Taijutsu that his father had shown him. When she removed the Kunai, he shifted his position slightly, watching her carefully, ready for anything that she might try. When she slid down towards him, he quickly took a jump back, just as she had predicted he would, but the entire time was noticing how she was gathering chakra in her left arm, which explained why she was using her injured arm to use the kunai. It wasn’t until she shoved that arm in to the ground that he realized he had to do something and fast or else she would probably release another jutsu.

Kage focused quickly, changing his body’s stance from stone to wind, the change from Strong Fist to Gentle Fist and then quickly lunged at his opponent. Whatever she was doing, he didn’t want to get caught in it, because as he watched, her chakra was starting to spread out underground, which could not be a good thing. Knowing that her only defense at this point was her right arm, he quickly pushed his right arm out in a special twist to try and disarm the Kunai and at the same time do damage to her arm with the chakra surging through his fingers. His right arm was headed straight for her chest, the main chakra coil, it being too late to his her left arm. Though it was draining, even a glancing blow from this style would be enough to elicit pain to his opponent on the inner level. He knew that he couldn't do as long of a combo as he wished, his lungs still bothering him, but that didn't mean he was out yet.

OOC: I won't be as active anymore...school starts for me tomorrow...so most of my posting will be done on the weekends...but I'll get one-two posts on the weekdays.

--

The roots, which was her arm, were spreading out quickly underground, and started the second phase of the attack, in which the roots started going upwards. It was a mere matter of moments before her jutsu would be put into action, but she knew she could do it if she could hold off the Hyuuga boy for another five to ten seconds. It's all she was hoping for....time.

As Kage was thrusting his arm towards Xera, Xera twisted her body counter clockwise, as her right arm and back were facing towards Kage. The kunai flung out of her hand and her right shoulder was hit by the attack, and her arm started feeling weak, but it was still usable.

"Yeah...now it's time," said Xera with a smirk.

Bursting out of the ground was twelve roots, and Xera had directed them back towards herself to try and trap Kage in her web of roots.

"Shiba Ryou: Ciba Tsukene Wana...."

The roots were that long or thick, but it could trap a ninja for a short bit of time, and Xera watched as it was closing in on Kage. Her plan so far was working, but she knew she had to be careful to not let this taijutsu user attack her again, because the chakra flow in her right arm was slowing down, and Xera wasn't skilled enough to seal with one hand.

((No problem.))

'WHAT THE HELL?!'

Kage watched as the roots erupted from the ground, coming straight at him extremely fast. Even at his fastest, he doubted that he could dodge all of them for very long. But, of all the things that were different, these roots seemed to have a chakra flow, which directed back to her left hand. He wasn't sure if she was changing her hand or just giving chakra to some sort of seed that was homing in towards him, but either way, it was not going to be a very fun experience. He jumped back quickly, his hands flying to the pouch on his left side, removing the remaining seven shuriken from his pouch and flinging them towards the oncoming roots. Then, shifting his feet, he quickly moved as fast as he could away from them, but found that his traction was severely lacking on the sand.

'Damn it.....'

Chakra surged to his hands as he attacked the branches creeping around him, trying to cut off the flow of chakra to them, and to points, it was working, but at other points, it was failing miserably. There were twelve of them, and it would take multiple hits to each to even begin to stop them fully, and he really didn't have that kind of chakra to waste. Cursing under his breath, he realized his only choice, and quickly deactivated the Byakugan to conserve energy, trying to dodge the branches as well as he could, but it was to no avail in the end, and he got caught up in them, the branches slowly moving around him, holding him in place, he totally unable to move at all. Had he not inhaled the poison, he probably would have had the kind of stamina he would have needed to continue to dodge them, but unfortunately, that was not so for him. Trapped, he stared at the other ninja, glaring at her, half out of being purely impressed, half out of the fact that he knew this was going to hurt, a lot.

Yeah....this guy is going to go down...

Surprisingly to her, her justu actually had worked against someone. It was weak, and it wasn't going to hold for much longer, due to her being physically weaker than most ninjas. Xera was looking at Kage as he struggled to get through the trap, which was already weakening by the moment. She knew she'd have to think of a good move to come up with next.

This is going to drain my power...but it'll work....

She looked down at her right arm, and saw her arm shaking as it started changing into roots. The arm changed to a brownish-green color, and then her arm turned into one giant root. she brought it back over her head as she jumped about five feet back to create distance. After she landed from the jump, she was getting out of range to use her trapping jutsu, so her left arm quickly started turning back to normal as it retracted back towards her.

As soon as her left arm was back to normal, she thrusted her right arm, which recently turned into a giant root, towards the general direction at Kage. Her arm was coming down at the ninja like a samurai swinging his sword straight down.

'It... was her hands!'

Kage watched his opponent, having nothing better to do while he was trapped, and observed as her right hand started to change in to roots as well, similar to the ones sorrounding him. That was why when he looked at the roots with his Byakugan, they seemed so familiar. And now, he was going to pay for deactivating his Byakugan so early in the fight, simply because if he hadn't, it would have put him in a very advantageous position at the moment. As the roots quickly retracted from him, he closed his eyes, forming the Byakugan again, the extra energy needed to restart them reminding him that he had to be careful about how he used his energy. He had a strategy now, now that her jutsu had unveiled itself to him.

He watched as the other arm came down towards him. However, he wouldn't go down that easily. She had reduced his ability to breath, but sprinting and quick bursts of speed were still something he was quite capable of, he just had to be careful to give himself time to recover from longer attacks. He tensed his muscles and quickly pushed himself to the side as the root came smashing down in to the sandy ground, sand flying up everywhere, making it hard to see anything. Kage, amid the stirred up dust, concentrated his eyes on the girl, homing in on her as best as he could, using the chakra flowing to her morphed limb as a guide.

'There.'

However, he was going to wait. Instead of attacking her directly, he would disable her as much as he could. Her right limb was already damaged, so he quickly pulled his hands back, launching as many gentle fist attacks against the morphed limb as he could. If anything, he would be able to paralyze her hand or even her fingers temporarily, making seals impossible. The limb was extended, so he wasn't sure what he was hitting, but if anything, he was hitting something. As for him, he knew that he would have to revert back to the Strong Fist style soon, his chakra draining quickly with each strike, so he planned to make use of it the best he could. His stamina was already killing him, so he knew he would have to try and keep his quick running to a minimum, but she had brought his target to him, so it worked just fine for him.

With her arm extended as roots, Kage was just simply attacking towards it, and a few attacks had hit it, so Xera had just retracted her arm back to make sure she could use it again. Xera stared at Kage, having a great strategy storming in her mind, but didn't didn't know if it would be able to work at all.

Xera had tried performing the Ram and Snake seals, but no chakra from her right arm was coming out at all. She tried using those two seals another time, but nothing had was working at all.

"Damn it....I guess I'll just have to use all my chakra in my left arm...."

Xera just stood there, waiting for the Hyuuga boy to come towards her, trying to see if this could turn the tides back around. She had focused nearly all of her remaining chakra into her left arm as it started sprouting, but being about four times bigger this time around. Some roots from the shoulder went behind her back and covered her right arm, just incase she had to use it. Her left arm seemed to stop growing, as the end of her arm looked like a semi-sphere, with the flat end facing towards Kage; and the flat surface had five holes in it, possibly indicating something, but it wasn't very visible.

'Well, it worked slightly...'

Kage watched with a small amount of satisfaction as she sealed, but wasn't able to accomplish anything. It was temporary at best, so he knew he had to move fast or else she would simply recover and catch him off guard once again. Especially now that he was pretty much out of chakra. He hated to think what his father would think of him using up pretty much all of his chakra using the Gentle Fist, but it was unavoidable now. What's done was done, and if he didn't cool it, he would be done for due to exhaustion even before his body was ready to let up. The Byakugan faded, he having less than 1/5 of his chakra left.

'Oh well.... I'll finish this the hard way....'

Taking in a few deep breaths, he quickly sprinted towards her, his body in the Strong Fist style, one palm pulled back, aiming for the area between her right shoulder and her neck. But, he was also aware of her left arm being transformed, so his other hand was at the pouch at his side, six kunai prepared in it to release at her if she tried anything funny, which of course would happen. No one really like being hit all that much.

Perfect....he came in close like I predicted....

Kage had thrusted his arm towards her own right shoulder, so she had let it hit. She didn't expect it to be a regular attack unlike Kage's previous attacks on her right arm. Feeling a little pain, she shrugged it off, because it didn't hurt for the most part because of the roots covering her right arm.

"Oww..." she moaned.

Knowing Kage had some momentum going forward, Xera saw Kage reach for kunais, all of them ready for launch anytime Kage desired to throw them. Xera had just jumped back about six inches and redirected her left arm so that it had faced Kage. Taking in a deep breath and closing her eyes, she focused her chakra into the five little holes in her little half-sphere on her left arm.

I must win...losing would just be a step back and it would just delay all of my plans.....

"HAA!!!" screamed Xera as five pointy roots, each about two feet long, exploded through the little holes in the transformed left arm. They were still attached the half-sphere, but they all just popped out and blazed quickly through the air towards Kage's right side.

Xera was hoping that this might end it, as she was just simply tiring out at a rapid rate, and she started sweating furiously soon after the attack. She started taking in deep breaths as she lunged her right atm towards the right side of Kage's face, trying to get in another hit, though the punch wouldn't be powerful at all, but it might help if it landed.

Kage watched as she took the hit, and then shifted her weight to attack him with whatever she had created over her left arm. When the spikes came out at him, his natural instincts quickly caused him to push to his left, avoiding the spikes as neatly as he could, though one raked painfully across his side, causing him to bite his lip to repress a scream from coming out. He was lucky that he was so skilled in Hyuga style Taijutsu, the art of blocking and dodging more than anything else. Had he not... well, he would definitely be close to death right now. But, the step had brought him closer to the girl, and she lashed out with her right hand, smashing in to his face, and though the impact wasn't 'hard', it sure as hell was powerful, she being physically stronger than he was by a bit.

'. . . . darn it...'

Now he had an open wound and was seriously winded. But he would not let himself go out without a fight. He felt like his lungs were ripping apart, but it didn't matter to him. He had said that he would not stop until he was on the ground, and he meant it. Unfortunately for both him and her, he was in close range, and she was winded as well. His eyes opening in his final release of the Byakugan, he focused as much of his remaining chakra in to his fingers, and then quickly pushed upwards towards her chest, right between her breasts, the center of the chakra network.

Whether or not he would hit, he was not going to win. That was the last of his chakra, and if it hit, his eyes would simply fade back to normal and he would collapse. He had not put it to the deadly point yet, not being able to push himself that far, but it would be enough to drain him of any and all ability to move. However, he was focused more on getting at least a draw, though he doubted he would realize it for what it was, since he would be out cold the minute the chakra expelled. It was mostly up to the girl, whether she dodged it, took it, or suffered the same fate as he and passed out from the direct attack to her chakra spiral.

(It's over. Take a draw or a victory, either one is fine with me.)

Xera realized that her weird attack did not have the effect that she had desired. She had wanted all of the spikes to drill into his side, thus knocking him out, but it didn't happen at all, as only one had even hit him. It scarped Kage instead of spear him, so she was pissed.

She was ready for another attack, but she saw Kage thrust his fingers towards her chest. To her, it seemed like the attack was in extreme slow motion, and that her body was taking forever to move.

Damn it....

Kage's fingers jammed straight between her breasts, sending Xera straight to the ground after the attack. While she was falling down, she had many things fly through her head at the same time, confusing her.

You're weak...

You can't defeat your brother....

Just give up being a ninja...

That's all the Yggdrasil clan has to offer?

Xera, just like her opponent's, eyes had closed after all those sayings flew straight through her head. Her body had finally hit the ground, making a 'thud' sound as her body bounced back up into the air about a few feet, then crashing back down to the ground, being completely knocked out. She had strained her body way too much for her body to handle, but her stubbornness made her keep going on and on.

--

Xera's eyes had opened, but everything was all blurry as she couldn't make anything out. She closed her eyes and brought her hands up to her face and rubbed her eyes for about fifteen seconds. Her vision finally was restored back to normal, as she slowly stood up and brushed the sand off of her black clothes. She looked around to see where her opponent was, then she looked down to see him on the ground.

"I see...you were too weak to even withstand your attack...and I was too weak to even withstand your attack..." sighed Xera as she turned her back to Kage's unconscious body.

Xera took in a deep breath, and started walking down the sandby beanch, and eventually, she left the vicinity, determined to get stronger so she can accomplish her short-term goals.
