I lived a simple life. The fire crackled, being forced to the Stone Age because of Terra’s powerless position I placed more sticks on the dimming light. It’s ambient glow was multiplied a hundred fold throughout the wreaked city, each one dancing along with Terra’s nightly breeze. I sat down only to be welcomed by the cracked pavement’s unevenness which leaved my backside to feel slightly uncomfortable. My brow lowered as I frowned sympathetic of the position I was in, where I had finally realised how silly I was to leave home for the ‘big city’. It was nothing I expected. I lowered my head and looked at the chopped up cement I was sitting on. I was thinking of the good times when life was far more simple. I smiled remembering a fond memory of poking water reeds into watermelons to use as a straw. It was all too clear in my mind when I caught Beth doing it for the first time, having to tell her off before noticing the reed poking out and admitting that she had talent for mischief. As it turned out she wasn’t able to crack it open without making a mess and letting Father know, so she worked out a cleaner option. It was probably why she was the only one of us to leave the farm for schooling. She was always the smart one. I was proud. I looked up with a disorientated smile, having mixed emotions left that sort of mark on my face. “Life is hard, but I’m harder.” |

Yoshi had a run in with some nasty thugs. He had taken them out with poison fang, but he sort of suffered from a wound on his right shoulder. He focused healing energy into it. It was healing but it would take a few more minutes. It was evening. The moon was coming up and it was getting darker by the minute. The young man looked up into the sky with his darkened eyes. The light of the moon reflected on his glasses for a second. He then looked down at his feet walking on the pavement, covered simply by his dark blue ninja shoes. Life wasn't as it usually was. Way back when, he remembered living stress free in Konoha. He went to school, studied, and trained. He sighed and closed his eyes, lifting his head back up, his long red hair fell back, tied in a pony tail that loosley hung. Walking along, he noticed some smoke. "Someone must be burning a fire. I wonder what they'd think If I went over and joined them." He thought. So, he went off in that direction, passing only a few people. When he came to the site, which was a bit slummy, he saw another boy there sitting by a seemingly dying fire. He approached quietly and walked up beside him and just looked at the fire for a moment, until he said, "Hello there. Do you mind if I join you?" |

Before the person had the chance to speak rain began to fall from the sky and soak the brittle ground and turn it’s finer dust to mud. As the person spoke his voice was drowned by the sudden bang of thunder making Ken jump from shock. His fire was quickly put out and he turned around feeling like he was being watched. Because of the lack of light he couldn’t make out anything behind him, not until lightning illuminated the area once again. Ken looked to the older boy with his eyes becoming wider and his stress levels increasing. The loud sound of the thundering weather boomed and Ken had lost himself to crawling backwards with his eyes stuck on the large eyed creature before him. He didn’t recognize the boy as a boy like him, mainly because of the darkness and the large glasses that were perched on the boys nose. “Please don’t probe me!” His face resembled an alien more than anything. Looking to his side in fear, Ken could not help but take hold of a large cement rock that had entirely broken away from the pavement. Firmly grasped in his hand he lifted it towards the figure in a threatening fashion. He wasn’t a violent person and he was shaking. “Get back!” |

It was raining. The water fell on Yoshi making him very wet. He couldn't see very good now, and it seemed the other boy hadn't heard him well because of the suddeness of the rain. The fire, or what was left of it was put out. And now he could hear some fearful shouting directed towards him from the other. An object was lifted towards him in a threatening manner, so it seemed either he was mistaken for something else in this rain and darkness, or he didn't want him around. However this wouldn't get to Yoshi much. He had delt with many different situations and many diffeent personalities, in many diffeent situations. The boy in his dark blue shirt, with the grey pants, wearing glasses, with the konoha headband on his forehead and the long brownish red hair stepped back a bit. Then he reached his hands up to his glasses and took them off, and wiped them on his shirt before putting them in a compartment on his belt. Now Yoshi blinked and was looking through the rain and darkness at this other boy. By looking at what he could see, the other boy was a bit shorter than him. His eyes seemed to be a lighter shade then his eyes, and his extremely long hair seemed to be sheening and a dark hue. He wore no shoes, and was draped in peculiar clothing. He also seemed to carry no weapons, which meant he was most likely a taijutsu user. Thinking about what he saw, he smirked, inwardly. Yoshi thought for sure he could take advantage of...no he KNEW he could take advantage of him at any time he wanted. However, he wouldn't, atleast not unless this boy decided to attack him. The young medical nin was suddenly very interested in this new aquaintance. It seemed there might be much to learn here, about this person. Maybe he could help him...he woulsn't want to hurt the boy after all. For sure they had had similar misfortunes in the past. No dount ofcourse there were harsh variations. Nonetheless comparison and contrast was always part of a lab project. Yoshi smiled at this. He folded his arms. The rain was quite enjoyable actually. Long hot days, leading into cool wet nights seemed to be pleasant. The rain seemed refreshing. But the smell of it was somewhat metallic. This was a city afterall, so the rainfall here had some pollutants in it, which made it smell somewhat. Not to mention now, he could smell the oil on his skin. He looked at the other boy. He wondered how long it had been since he'd taken bath. He also wondered if the boy was interested in getting out of the rain, getting washed up, and relaxing in a dry, warn room, and perhaps have a nice hot meal. Maybe he could take himself and this aquaintance to a hotel for the night. Yoshi had enough money to spare afterall, what with all his merc work. "Hey, watch it!" Yoshi yelled so the other could hear. He put his palms out in front of him to show the other he didn't want to be pummeled by whatever earthen object he was holding while he moved forward somewhat. "I'm not going to hurt you! I just wanted to join you by your fire, but now it's out so I wonder if you want to go to a hotel?!" Yoshi asked loudly. It was then that the sky suddenly cleared up, seemingly the weather had only been a small shower. The clouds went away with the winds, and in it's place the moon had come back out, and gave some light for them to see. Now he looked at him clearer. It was odd, but in the dark Yoshi could see better than in sunlight, so he just decided to leave his glasses off. He looked at the other boy waiting for a response. But then something else came to his mind, and he added, "My name's Yoshi Yakushi by the way. What's your name?" He asked it in a polite manner, lightly smiling. |

OOC: Very nice, Kiara. You keep that up and I'll get out of my rusty stance in no time. If you want to step it up even more, I'll even greatly appreciate it =P But you don't have to if you don't want to. The figure before him could only stare back at him as it most likely plotted it’s way into his rectum. Father had always warned Ken of these creatures that stole other rural folk for his bed time stories and it appeared they now wanted him. The creatures darkened armed lifted up towards it’s face and seemed to pull it’s large eyes out, their ambient shine reflecting the little light there was. “What the hell are you?” Ken shouted, his grip tightening on the wet rock in his hand. The creatures eyes were hidden for a moment within the figures garments, presenting themselves once again as it placed them back inside it’s head. This creature’s response was slow, almost as if it were savouring Ken’s fear. It may have been enjoying itself, but Ken wasn’t. He was soaked now and he wasn’t warmly dressed. With the added effect of adrenaline he couldn’t help but shiver more than normal. “What are you?” "Hey, watch it!" The shadowy and alien monster suddenly had lost it’s scariness. It finally clicked that this mystery creature was just a human and so the cement shard in Ken’s hand was instantly let go. "I'm not going to hurt you! I just wanted to join you by your fire, but now it's out so I wonder if you want to go to a hotel?!" The person’s voice didn’t fit at all, here he was against this terrible boogieman and the voice portrayed a boy only a bit older than himself. The weather classically cleared up and revealed his would-be antagonist, who was exactly what Ken had figured after hearing him. “What? Hotel? What in the world is a hotel?” Ken answered the boy rashly, quickly prompting his own mistake at being impolite. “I mean, very sorry. I didn’t realise you were… I’m sorry about the rock.” He could roughly make out the boys smile and returned his own disorientated grin. "My name's Yoshi Yakushi by the way. What's your name?" The boy continued to prompt him without care about the earlier misunderstanding. Ken was happy that he seemed to forgave him so quickly. “Oh, my name is Koutetsu Ken, sir.” The clan prodigy got up quickly and gave a short bow, recognizing the boys older age and only following what he was always taught. “I am pleased to meet you.” He held the hunched position for only a second before raising his head and giving Yoshi a proper and more polite smile. His own eyes flashing more positively at the thought of a new friend he had the prospect of making. He was in desperate need of somebody to talk to and this boy seemed much better suited than the drunken bums he had been helping get from point A to point B. The boy was dressed smartly and he spoke clearly, a positive and appreciated contrast to what Ken was used to in Terra. “I am grievously sorry for my earlier and very hasty reaction to your presents and I hope you can forgive me. I’m new to Terra and I don’t know very much about this place, it would be very kind of you if you could help me.” |

Yoshi was glad that Ken gave a positive and nonaggressive response. He would have hated to hurt him afterall, especially with him in such a poor condition. He smiled at him, and after a few more minuttes he took his glasses from his pouch, wiped them on his shirt, and put them back on his face. It was true he could see well in the dark, but still he saw better with the glasses on. Besides he was so used to wearing them, it just felt natural. "Well it's nice to meet you as well Ken Koutetsu. And yes, I can help you around Terra. I've been here many times before. As for a hotel, a hotel is a building where people stay at overnight. It's a place with many rooms, and they all have beds and bathrooms. You'll see. Well if you want to that is. I have enough money to get you your own room for a night and one for myself. We could have dinner too if you want. You are hungry aren't you? Oh and maybe it would be a good idea if we got you to a place that sells clothes. You look really wet." Yoshi said. He didn't mean to feel intruding, he just wanted to help out. Yoshi himself was hungry, tired, and wet. He could do with a change of clothes, and a bath sure did sound like a good idea. He hoped that Ken would agree with him about everything. If not, he would just do whatever Ken wanted to do, and if he got bored, he would leave Ken and go seek his own needs. Such was the life of a wandering mercenary. He sighed, and thought to himself, 'I hope I don't have to live like this forever. Sure getting numerous new jobs is great, but I want to have more of a purpose.' He looked down at his feet in the wet shoes. He felt cold and yucky. His red hair was sticky, and it bothered him slightly eventhough he didn't pay attention to it. He just waited to get a response from Ken. He hoped it would be soon. |
