Haru walked along the bridge, checking his equipment, making sure everything was in order. Haru even double checked everything in his inventory. He was anxoius, not because of the darkness that cloaked his advance, but because he wanted to be ready for what lay ahead of him. He planned to wait on the bridge for an old friend of his to come. They had planned to meet here and spar a long time ago, but Haru had marked it on his calendar, and he would live up to his promise. It had happened at least three years ago, and Haru was not sure if his friend would show, but he would, just in case. Anyways, what else did he have to do today? He sat on the ridge along the outer rim of the bridge, dangling his feet over the water, controlling small drifts of wind and pushing the water, creating ripples that echoed across the water. He grabbed his fan and swung it around, warming himself up. Haru saw a small fly drift towards him, and used his bloodline technique and smashed it to the ground with the power of wind. Today, he planned to make his old friend, Yurimeshi afraid of the wind, and the danger that it conceals. Along with the fear of the wind, he would learn to fear the maker of the wind, Haru Sakakida.

After a while, the sun rose, send a cascade of sparkling lights across the ocean. Bored, Haru ran back and forth around the bridge, he wanted to be ready for this confrontation. He was meeting one of the famed and skilled Hyuugas, Yurimeshi. Just his name brought a smile to his face. Long ago, in the academy, they had promised to meet each other on this very day. They were to spar, and test each other's skills. Before, Yurimeshi had always beaten Haru, but now, Haru new he had gotten alot better, and he was ready for this. Out of boredom, he grabbed a few kunai and wedged three of them in the corner of the bridge, were it joined with the land. He planned to use that as an advantage, so that he would win no matter what. So, alone, he looked out at the sea as the sun was just rising, waiting for Yurimeshi so that Haru could crush him and redeem himself from his prior failures. Haru's joints were stiff from waiting, so he climbed along the edge of the bridge, hand over hand, he went back and forth along the length of the bridge. When the sun rose above the water, warming up the sea, Haru took off some of his clothes amd jumped into the water. He hid underneath it and waited for Yurimeshi.

Yurimeshi
Big Shot
Yurimeshi was on his way to see Haru, a long time rival of his. Yurimeshi remembered of the old days in the academy, training and learning new things. Back then things were so much easier than now that he is a Genin. Haru and Yuri were rivals; they always used to spar with each other. "I used to always beat him, though he always got up to fight some more, he never ever gave up". "If I beat him all the time then why am I so nervous about sparring him today?” Yuri thought to himself as he finally got insight of the bridge.

As he Yurimeshi approached the bridge he stopped right before it and admired it in awe of it’s size, he had never seen anything of this size. He then began to think to himself about the fight. How strong had Haru gotten, what would he do, and if Haru even remembered of their pack long ago. “Has Haru gotten stronger, is he stronger than I, did he train and learn new moves since the last time I saw him” thought Yurimeshi.

When he finally reached the middle of the bridge it was getting dark, the sun was just beginning to set. The sun was glaring off the water beneath the bridge. “Where was Haru” said Yurimeshi frustrated, but quietly as he sat on the railing of the bridge wondering if Haru even remembered or if he did not want to come at all.

As Haru began to get cold. The hair on his neck prickled up and he shivered. The chill cut to his bone, and with the sun setting anyways, Haru grabbed is clothes from the top of the bridge. He tied them at the bottom of the bridge, so they were hidden from sight. Then, just as he was about to climb up onto the bridge, giving up the advantage of surpirse, Haru saw a figure approach the bridge. He watched the person near the middle of the bridge. Haru went up for a closer look, only using his feet under the water to propel himself quietly. As he neared the figure, he noticed the way that he stood, staright up. This was a proud person. As he got even closer, he saw that it was none other than the proud, strong Yurimeshi Hyuuga.

Haru got dressed quietly, on the side of the bridge, while hanging on to the rungs. When he was dressed, he climbed up quietly, making sure he was directly behind his adversary, as with his Byakugon, Yurimeshi could see things that were unheard of by regular human standards. Haru was directly behind Yurimeshi, and he slowly climbed up the railing. He garbbed a kunai from his pocket and held it in his hand. He slid it in front of Yurimeshi's neck and smiled. The cold steel touched his neck and Haru saw Yurimeshi's muscles tense and he saw the goosebumps form all over his body. "Hello.....friend," said Haru smugly. He pulled the blade back and leapt over Yurimeshi's head and landed in front of him, with a bow and a muttered tada. "You ready to lose Yurimeshi?" Asked Haru, drawing his fan and returning the kunai to his pocket. He backtracked to the other side of the bridge and started to pull his chakra to the edge of the fan. He watched for any movement or hint of Yurimeshi's next move as he prepared to send a slashing wind at Yurimeshi once he showed any sign of movement.

Yurimeshi
Big Shot
Yurimeshi was suprised to see haru. He was in shock everything happened so fast were they really going to fight already, he thought to himself. "so Haru you are ready to meet your fate huh?" Yurimeshi said to Haru while he contemplated his next movement. Haru was staring down Yuri anxiously awaiting Yurimeshi's movement. Yurimeshi got off the ledge slowly getting ready to fight. He noticed that Haru was consentrating alot on his fan. What could he be doing, he thought to himsleves as he activated his Byakugan to see what Haru was up to. As the Byakugan was being activated Yurimeshi's face veins began to bulge and a slight center iris began to form, he then noticed that Haru was indeed consentrating on the fan, infact he was focusing chakra on the edge of his fan. "What was he doing?" Yuri thought.

" I see that you have learned some new tricks Haru, as well did I" Yurimeshi said while reaching over his back to grab his tanto. "are you ready!" yelled Yurimeshi as he began to sprint towards Haru with his tanto in hand planning on dealing a deathblow to Haru as soon as he got close enough.

As Yurimeshi leapt into the air, his weapon raised, Haru realised that he was not going to hold back. If he landed this shot, the fight would be over right here, right now. Of course that wouldn't happen, but still, it was an eye opener to Haru. Haru had to think quick in order to survuve this one. He could either move and give up his position, or he could stand and try to deflect this attack. But still, stopping or even shifting this attack would be hard. But Haru had an idea. Because Yurimeshi had taken the fight to the skies, he had put himself at a major disadvantage, as Haru controlled the skies. Because he had already molded his chakra to the edge of his fan, Haru was able to use that immediately. He brought his fan down with tremendous force, sending a gust of slashing winds at Yurimeshi. They were aimed to knock his trajectory off so that he would miss his mark, the mark that happened to be Haru.

In addition to this attack, Haru used his Etai Iki to double the force of the winds that were aimed at Yurimeshi, creating a powerful maelstrom because Haru was adept at his ability of the Etai Iki. The gust wipped up discarded leaves as it soared at Yurimeshi, aimed at Yurimeshi's trajectory. After the wind left Haru's fan he quickly folded his fan up so that the ginger paper part was protected by the hard iron, that would also protect Haru if his attack failed.

Yurimeshi
Big Shot
Yurimeshi knew that he was trapped. The death blow was a risky move. he had no idea that Haru knew how to counter it. Yurimeshi had to come up with something and fast, the gust was hurteling towards him he could already feel the on coming of it the wind began to blow his hair and clothes back. In one swift movement Yurimeshi used the wind to his advantage by changing his dirrection using the wind he was able to dodge the main gust. Landing back on his feet after dodging the gust, he then felt it blow right above him. He had to think of something fast before his chakra ran out. Knowing that Haru was inadequet in hand to hand combat and acceled at longer range jutsus he had to come up with a plan of attack allowing him to get close enough to Haru to really deal some damage.

Yurimeshi sheathed his tanto knowing that it would only slow him down and decrease his agility, which he direly needed to get close to haru. He then ran towards Haru concentraring on Haru's movement using his Byakugon to decifer what he was up to. Yurimeshi was anticipating a defensive attack from Haru, but he couldn't be fore shure. Using his byakugan would be Yurimeshi's advantage becuase he would be able to see exaclty were Haru would attack, how and when. He kept running straight for Haru conserving his energy for later.

As Yurimeshi dashed towards Haru, Haru racked his brain for someting to do. He could attack with a long range attack, but that could be easily dodged. He could also use his defensive wind techniques, but those could be easily bypassed. He decided to trick Yurimeshi. Haru quickly grabbed two Shuriken from his pocket and threw them at Yurimeshi. One was a little to the left of Yurimeshi, and one was a little to the right of him. As the shuriken coasted along towards their taget, Haru molded his chakra and readied it for use. Haru then raised his hands in front of him. He did the seals: Dragon, Ram, Bird. Then, loose objects from across the battlefield started to float towards his hands, forming a shield that would defend Haru, should his trick fail. When making the shield, Haru left one small hole that he could see through and watch his adversary.

Haru's plan was to stay behind his wall, while watching the battle. And then, when his shuriken got close to Yurimeshi, Haru would use his Etai Iki to nudge the direction of his missiles to hit Yurimeshi, because where they were aimed right now, they would barely miss him. Haru did this on purpose so as to trick Yurimeshi into a false sense of secuirity. So, Haru watched from behind his shield of debris as his plan came closer and closer to execution. While this happened, Haru had put his fan back and drawn two kunai, one for each hand, just in case the fight came to close, hand to hand, battle.

Yurimeshi
Big Shot
Yurimeshi saw that Haru was intentionally throwing the kunai off course. What was this kid doing?! Yurimeshi knew something was up. Knowing that Haru would not expect Yurimeshi run any faster He sprinted even quicker towards the kunai grabbing them before any trap could be set. Yurimeshi had foiled Haru's attemts at trapping him. He then continued running towards Haru quickly gaining ground leaving dust in his wake. Yurimeshi had a plan it just might work. He quickly threw the two kunia at Haru Then lept into the air with the tradgectory to end up right on top of Haru knowing that he was peoccupied with his sheild of Debris. If Haru were to drop the sheild to counter Yurimeshi the kunia would strike him, if he where to keep the sheilds up and deflecting the kunai Yurimeshi would be able to bypass the sheild all together being able to deal an ending blow to Haru quickly ending the sparring match. If on the other hand Haru had a genious idea that somehow stumpt Yurimeshi, He had an ecscape plan that would also end the match in his favor. In Yurimeshi's mind the match was already over.

Haru panicked. The fight was not going so well, and Haru had to lose ground in order to gain ground. At least, he knew that and was able to execute it in order to actually not be claimed by defeat yet in this battle. Thinking quickly, Haru was in quite the predicament. He had danger in front, and above him. Haru quickly rolled away from his shield, therefore letting it break down. He then got up and ran to put some more distance between him and Yurimeshi's landing spot. Then, he threw his two kunai at Yurimeshi's supposed landing spot, even adding to their speed with his Etai Iki. They sped toward his landing spot as Haru grabbed his fan and begun to spin it, around and around. He gathered his chakra and readied it for an attack. All the while, the kunai sped toward Yurimeshi's landing spot as he came closer and closer to his landing spot.

Then, Haru made the hand seals: Bird, Dragon and shot a ball of concentrated, slashing wind from his fan at Yurimeshi's landing spot. He hoped that while Yurimeshi was landing, he would either be preoccupied by the kunai or get hit by them, causing him to get hit by the wind attack, also.

Yurimeshi
Big Shot
(of course he could he is a ninja :ph43r: )

While in the air Yurimeshi saw that Haru was setting yet another trap for him. Haru was expecting Yurimeshi to land in a certain spot where all the attacks were dirrected. Time for plan B. Yurimeshi quickly changed his body position changing his flight path ever so slightly, but also increasing his descent rate. Yurimeshi's plan was to land just before the attacks were going to hit thne change his course to dodge these attacks putting him in reach of Haru to do some much needed hand to hand combat. Yurimeshi's plan suceeded in putting him out of harmsreach of the kunai and razor winds. Yurimeshi was now in close range of Haru.

Haru was now in Yurimeshi's court, plus Haru was quickly running out of chakra at an extreme rate. Upon Yurimeshi's landing he quickly dashed towards Haru quickly coming upon him, though not in a straight line as one would expect. he dashed from side to side at a high rate of speed to confuse Haru. He then threw two shurikens at high velocity aimed right between Haru's eyes. Had Yurimeshi gone to far with these attacks. Yurimeshi slowed down from his quick sprint, expecting the worst for Haru. Was this regret that Yurimeshi was feeling, no Haru would be able to dodge these in a heart beat. So Yurimeshi quickly sped up again hoping that he could end this match before it went to far and someone got hurt.

Haru was amazed by Yurimeshi's speed, he had dodged everything that had been thrown at him, and now he was on the offensive. Haru had to think quick, as this battle could end in a few moments. He could try and block the shuriken, but that would surely fail, as he was not an expert with ninja weapons. Niether was Yurimeshi, though, as Haru noticed that the shuriken wobbled as they soared to their target. If he was a master, then Haru would have had no chance, so he was glad. Then, Haru noticed how high the shuriken were aimed, at his head. So, thinking rapidly, Haru ducked down under the shuriken's path and folded up his fan.

As Yurimeshi was racing towards him, Haru had to find a way out of this problem. He couldn't match Yurimeshi's hand to hand skill, so he had to stay away. But he was trapped, pinned against the railing in this one. He would have to charge Yurimeshi in order to get away. So, Haru raised his folded up fan and charged for Yurimeshi, swinging his fan for Yurimeshi's stomach. Hopefully, Yurimeshi would run straight into it because of his high speed, and then haru could get away.

Yurimeshi
Big Shot
What was this kid doing, was the only thought in Yurimeshi's mind. Was he insane, Haru was no match for Yurimeshi in hand to hand combat. As Yurimeshi was sprinting towards the oncoming Haru he deactivated his Byakugan to spare some more Chakra, thinking that this battle would be over soon he needed to come up with a plan to cripple Haru the fastest, before Yurimeshi ran out of energy.

When Haru and Yurimeshi were so close that they could see eye to eye, Haru swung violently at Yurimeshi. In a moments notice Yurimeshi dodged to the right barely missing contact with the iron fan. He then procceded to take advantage of Haru's instability by swinging his fist towards the back of Haru hoping that becuase of Haru's instablility he would not be able to counter. "This match should be over soon." he said as his fist was about to meet flesh.

Haru felt the fist go deep into his back, to the left of his spine, and below his shoulder blade. He was lucky nothing vital was injured, as that could have been bad. while he fell to the floor, he decided to give up. His hands broke his fall and his knees also helped to break his fall. He sighed and stood up, hand raised. "I give up..." He said reluctantly. "I don't want to get hurt, and, I was losing anyways...." He looked at Yurimeshi with a frown, then broke into a smile, laughing. He walked around, picking up his discarded weapons as he thought the battle over. There had been many places that he could have done better, but because of the fast paced combat, he hadn't had the time to think things over the way he would have liked to.

Anyways, it would have been nice to win for once, but a wise man once said: There is always victory in defeat, as the loser always learns the most. So overall, he was still happy to have met up with his old friend and now, they cpuld catch up and talk about "old times" geez....Haru was getting old. Not as old as Yurimeshi, though, as he was three years older than Haru. They had the little/big brother thing going on. "So, how have you been these years?" Asked Haru, as he picked up the last of his weapons that had been scattered across the battlefield, his fan.

Yurimeshi laughed as well. "Well old pall we both no who is still better, but you have gotten much stronger than the last time we fought, you must have been training very hard". Yurimeshi was very suprised to see how Haru had acceded in the arts of ninjutsu. "Your wind jutsus are very powerful and could have dealt mass damage." " Hey, we should train sometime, you could teach me a thing or two, I could teach you also". "So were did you learn those moves? I don't remember you having those in the academy." Yurimeshi began dusting him self off, and wiping the sweat off of his forehead.

Yurimeshi then proceeded to pick up the equipment that he had left on the bridge. "Haru, man that spar was hardcore."

Haru listened to Yurimeshi speak, then replied, "Yes, I have been training very hard, waiting for this day, but I guess you trained harder. And by the way, I picked up my awesome wind moves while training, which by the way, it would be great to train together!" With a smile, Haru thought about the past. They had spent hours training together, and they were always ahead of the rest of the class. Together, they had spent so much time training that they were practically brothers. hopefully they could do this alot more, and advance in thier techniques together. "Let's get back to Terra." Said Haru, already walking in Terra's direction. "By the way, have you pledged yourself to a village yet?" Asked Haru, interested in which Village he should swear his alleigance to.

"I'm not sure how to join a village, but I don need to so I can get some missions; do you have any idea of how to join a village?" asked Yurimeshi. The sun started to set and themoon started to rise as the stars came out. It was starting to get dark on their way to Terra. The water started to reflect the moosn light as it shimmered in the ripples of the water. That Tonight was a very clear night the stars were out in full and the skies were calm and silent.

As the two approached Terra they could see the lights in the darkness. It looked like fire flies in a sea of black. The closer they got to the city the more the silent disapeared along with the serenity. The two conversed with each other about what their lives have consisted of since the days in the academy.

"So Haru, where are you staying these days?" Yurimeshi was looking for a temporary place to stay while in the city.

As the city walls loomed closer, he saw a number of luminaries, swaying back and forth in the gentle night breeze, like a thousand fireflies hovering over a grassy field. Haru barely heard Yurimeshi talk, as he was in tune with the wind, watching it flow, controlling its strength, he was like a force of nature, calm and in control, but at the moment's notice, he could wip up a storm and terrorize the people. Even though Haru's strength couldn't amount to that, controlling an unpredictable element and aspect of nature gave the feeling of strength.

"Umm...what did you say? Oh, I pretty much stay at inns. I am waiting until I can join a village and get a proper home. I think within the next few days, I will travel to one of the villages and have a talk with the Kage' of that village, and see if I can join somehow." Elaborated Haru, with a distracted countenance, as he was still watching the full extent of his power. He continued walking with Yurimeshi as they neared the gates.

Yurimeshi
Big Shot
As Yurimeshi and Haru walked throught the gate to the city of Terra Yurimeshi added " So what village are you thinking of joining?" Yurimeshi had no clue as to what he was going to do with his life, all he had on his mind was to get stronger and stronger. He had no other plan, no idea of what was next, what village he was going to apply to or anything.

It kept getting darker and darker and soon the moon was in full rise with it's illustrious glow lighting up the shady alleys and reflecting off puddles and glass. The two continued along the sidewalk past the lit store fronts glancing every once in a while at the perfectly set up merchandise. The sweet aroma of resturauntes tantalized Yurimeshi's scent as they walked past. The two were both in complete silence though knew what each other was thinking of, they had no reason to talk.

There was no one out at this time of night, only the ocasional shady figure or group of mischevious children. Terra was a busteling city by day and a mischevious town at night. The night consealed the shady activities that went on in this city.

Bored and tired Yurimeshi wondered how far to the inn. He pulled out his tanto to clean. It was gleaming in the moon light, but it showed much wear and age and mars from the previous battles it had endured."Wow this is a peice, but I'll have to wait until I get a mission to afford a new weapon". Yurimeshi wipped the blade on his clothes then returned it to the sheath.

They continued to walk along the path in darkness exchanging only th occasional word here and there.

Haru noticed his stop in the distance, by the eerie glow that reached across the street, oozing like golden liquid into the street. Haru poked Yurimeshi and said, "This is my stop, its been great catching up with you. We need to do this again, later when I have improved my skills. That way, I can beat you. By the way, I think I will be traveling across the desert soon to find the new Village of Mirages. There, there should be many others of my clan, as the desert is the perfect place for a wind ninja. Hope to meet you again soon." And with that, Haru stepped in and nodded to the friendly patrons inside the inn. He was too tired to initiate a conversation, let alone small talk. He stumbled up the stairs and flopped onto his bed, and closed his eyes. He desperately wanted sleep. It was at the point that his body growled at him for food, but he couldn't do anything except for to lay down and let his desire for rest subdue him. He hoped that he wouldn't wake up too sore, because that would not be good for his long trek to the diamond in the desert, the Village of Mirages.

Yurimeshi continued walking alon after saying his final words to Haru. " I am really getting tired" Ten minutes later Yurimeshi felt the urge to find some where to sleep he saw a benevolent looking inn. He walked in slouching from exhuastion. When he got to the desk he asked for a room then once recieving the key he dragged himself up the flights of stairs to his room. When he opened his door he found a nice quiant little abode that would satisfy his needs. the room was neat, but not unneadedly adorned. It only contained a dresser, a bed, desk, chair and a window overlooking the main street. Yurimeshi shut off the light and oppened the blinds allowing the moonlight to stream in. He then disarmed himself leaning his tanto against the bed. Yurimeshi was not worried about getting attacked, he was just in a new enviroment and not yet comfortable. He then proceeded to undress then lay down on the bed pulling the cover over himself wondering of what his next days would consist of.

Haru lay awake, he couldn't stop thinking about his upcoming travel to the desert. It was said that the Village in the desert cannot be seen unless you are welcomed into the village. It has an illusion technique that shrouds the entire village and even its inhabitants. They must be extremely strong to imbue an entire village with an illusion. Consequently, it sounds like the perfect place for Haru.

Haru closed his eyes once again, but noticed he was in an uncomfortable position, so he undressed and put his weapons on his bedside table. He climbed under the blankets and let his dreams wander, and thrive. The sun was just rising as Haru got to sleep, but that wouldn;t stop him, because his body desperately needed rest to recover from his embarrassing beating.
