My friends call me Galileo or "Gal" for short.

Takara enjoyed the peaceful rest she received after working and training a lot the previous day, she smiled to herself and hoped to remain asleep for many hours to come. However, someone decided to refuse Takara that luxury as they placed a hand on one of her arms and gently rocked her to awaken her. Takara became partially conscious, but she remained mostly asleep and continued living in her own personal dreamland she visited whenever she slept. The hand shook Takara a little rougher than before, but Takara simply moaned and attempted to remain asleep, not wanting to leave her paradise. "Takara, wake up Takara, please wake up Takara, it is time to wake up Takara." A familiar voice said and every time it spoke Takara's name, Takara found herself dragged closer to consciousness. Takara's mind finally entered the realm of those awake, but Takara refused to accept that fact and kept her eyes closed as she moaned and tried falling asleep again. Takara felt a soft bed beneath her body, a fluffy pillow underneath her head, and a warm light blanket covering her body. Takara wanted to remain there for the entire day and while she tried to fall asleep again, someone decided to make it their mission to deny Takara her desire. Eventually, the very person who continued trying to awaken Takara stripped the blanket away from Takara and began walking away with it. "Go ahead, I can sleep without a blanket," Takara stubbornly thought when she heard the person's footsteps growing farther away. Suddenly, even with Takara's eyes closed, light filled the entire area and pierced through Takara's eyelids to make its presence known to her. Whoever wanted Takara awake turned on a light and Takara tightly closed her eyes in discomfort and moaned much louder than before. "Do I have to splash you with cold water to get you out of bed?" Someone asked and Takara realized that the voice belonged to her mother. "We do not have time for this, I only have a few hours and we have to hurry." She said, but Takara continued to refuse to sit up. "I am going to count to one and if you are not up by then, I will get a bucket of cold water." Takara's mother said, "Three-two-" Takara's mother began and she sounded like she meant to continue. Takara realized her mother meant exactly what she said, which motivated her into sitting up in an instant while she rubbed her eyes. Afterward, Takara stretched her arms, legs out while yawning loudly before she opened her eyes, and turned to face her mother. "Alright mother, I am awake!" Takara shouted while glaring at the woman standing across the room next to the doorway. Takara sat in her parents' house, but more specifically, she sat within her bedroom atop her bed, which remained dry due to Takara's compliance with her mother. Light pink and blue striped wallpaper with white, red, and pink rose decorations covered the walls of the five by five meter bedroom. Meanwhile, purple carpet covered the entire floor of the bedroom. Only Takara's room possessed the strange colored carpeting in the entire house. Takara's bed consisted of only a mattress twice as large as her own body. A bedspread portraying a black and white comic strip, of an obese lion tamer running away from lions while a thin fearful acrobat fell toward an aquarium containing a family of smiling sharks, covered the mattress. Takara's bedroom also possessed a small brown wooden dresser next to the door with a mirror situated at the top with a makeup kit already opened with its products littered across the dresser's surface. A large wooden chest that resembled a treasure chest rested against the wall on the opposite side of the door from the dresser. The chest acted as a container for toys, but it failed its job miserably as it remained open and empty. Meanwhile, unclothed dolls, their attire, their accessories, and their plastic vehicles littered the ground, making the area hazardous to anyone who walked through. Takara rarely cleaned her room and if her mother never picked up Takara's clothes to clean them, Takara's clothes would accompany her misplaced toys. The only window in the room rested above Takara's bed on the wall parallel to her bedroom door and only darkness rested outside aside from the stars. "What time is it?" Takara asked her mother after examining the window. "It was five o'clock when I came up here to wake you up, but by now I am guessing it is five-thirty." Takara's mother replied. Takara groaned in response because she usually slept until seven o clock and even after receiving an extra two hours of sleep, she still complained about getting out of bed. "Academy classes don't start until eight o clock mom," Takara protested. "Can I go black to sleep now?" Takara asked. "You aren't going to attend school today; those people are always busy fighting and never take time out to teach you properly." Takara's mother informed. "Instead, I am taking you out into the desert for more training." Takara's mother suddenly announced. Her mother's words only increased Takara's irritation because she hated going into the desert for training because her mother always pushed her too hard. "I already learned a lot and I think I am starting to get headaches from all of the training." Takara protested. Takara's mother sighed and moved toward Takara, exercising caution and avoiding toys along the way, before she stopped and sat down on a small empty spot on the carpet in front of Takara. She looked at Takara seriously for a few seconds before she smiled. "It is true, I have been pushing you hard lately and you have learned so many techniques during our training together," Takara's mother admitted. "You are only six years old and you have already learned most of our clan's abilities. I think that if you continue training like you have been, you might become as powerful as our forefather." Takara's mother said, referring to Gaara when she said "forefather". "Today I want to teach you our clan's ultimate defense technique that will protect you against far more dangers than any of your other defenses ever could." She added. Takara looked at her mother and blushed when her mother told her how great she already became through their training together. Additionally, the prospect of learning something better than anything her mother already taught her excited Takara into wanting to leave for the desert. Takara quickly stood up and shouted for joy before running toward her dresser to change out of her pajamas and into something light in weight and color. Takara behaved similarly as many other members of her clan because she too loved to fight despite her gender along with the fact that she lacked physically. "Alright, but try to calm down a little, your father is still asleep and we cannot wake him." Takara's mother stated before she walked out of the room to provide her daughter with privacy. Suddenly, without any apparent reason, the area vanished instantly, replaced by a new environment just as quickly where Takara found herself standing in the desert. Takara acted as though nothing strange occurred and behaved as though what recently happened was normal. Takara currently stared toward her mother who stood directly in front of the girl, which made it apparent that hours of time passed by within an instant. Both Takara and her mother currently wore their desert attire while kilometers of empty desert separated them from the village. Takara felt like she already ate breakfast while her backpack rested on the ground next to her. The backpack contained several emergency supplies including enough food and water for an entire day. "My little Takara," Takara's mother began loudly. "Behold the near-impenetrable defense that our forefather labeled Sand Sphere!" Takara's mother shouted before placing her hands together and slowly formed a long series of hand seals. "Ram for defense against oncoming brute force." Takara's mother stated upon forming the first seal. "Dragon, its scales of metal contribute to your own armor." She said after forming the dragon seal. "Tiger, there are few creatures of the jungle who dare to oppose this force." She said while forming the tiger seal. "Lastly the snake, it will strike those who refuse to heed your desire to remain distant." Takara's mother finished with the final seal. Massive amounts of sand that surrounded Takara's mother began lifting from the earth and started forming a round protective barrier. Within seconds, Takara's mother successfully encased herself in a thick sphere of sand that towered its creator's height by at least one meter. Takara curiously walked toward the sand and went to place her hand along its surface to test its smoothness and its solidity. As Takara came within one and a half meters of the sphere, a spike of sand instantly extended from the sphere and pointed toward the foolish girl. Takara walked toward the left of the spike, but as she moved, another spike extended from the sand. Takara continued walking around the entire sphere of sand while a single spike appeared each time she walked away from one. Takara eventually found herself back where she first began and examined the defensive barrier along with the extended spikes in awe. The sphere of sand suddenly collapsed afterward and revealed Takara's mother standing in the center, untouched by sand as she commanded the sand to fall away from her. "Now try doing what I did until you run out of chakra and remember to use forty percent of your chakra each attempt." Takara's mother instructed. "I know it is a lot because you can only make two attempts a day, which means you cannot rush this technique." She added before she fell silent and waited for her daughter to begin her training. Once again, time skipped forward and while the surrounding area seemed familiar, a slight difference existed. Takara and her mother both walked forward rather than standing still while facing each other. They eventually both stopped and Takara slowly removed her backpack from her small shoulders while her mother removed her pack as well. "Alright Takara, it has been one week since I showed you how to perform Sphere of Sand," Takara's mother stated after they both placed their backpacks on the ground and stood back up to face one another. "Remember to take as long as you want because this is a very difficult technique to learn." She said. Takara grinned and felt for sure that her day finally came to master the sphere of sand and wasted no time in making her first attempt of the day. Takara strongly desired her clan's ultimate defense, the very technique her mother demonstrated almost exactly an entire week ago. Takara quickly infused the sand around her with her own chakra while placing her hands together in order to form the correct seals. Takara first formed the ram seal followed by the dragon, tiger, and snake seals; upon the final seal, she realized that the sand around her began to rise just as she envisioned during the technique's activation. Within seconds, Takara successfully surrounded herself in a sphere of sand that left her surrounded by sand and darkness. Takara felt excited upon her first successful activation and began to cheer loudly within the confines of her defenses. However, Takara soon became silent as the darkness around her started to fade away along with the feeling of hardened sand beneath her body. Takara began awakening to the present while bring with her the knowledge of one of her clan's actual abilities. |
