Ceren Yuudai
Braver
Aye, I was kind of stupid when I chose my username.
So can an admin change it from what it is now to just: Yuudai?
Thanks.

Name: Sabaku, Yuudai
Gender: Male
Age: 12
Clan: Sabaku
Village: Village of Mirages
Personality:
Yuudai is quite amicable and gregarious – enjoying the company of others. He enjoys listening to jokes as well as attempting to make them. Whilst enjoying fun and entertainment, he knows times when not to be. This usually grants him the respect of those he meets and befriends. It will be difficult for you to find Yuudai when he is visibly angry and downtrodden because he hides his emotions so well that it is impossible for anyone to know how he really feels – well it really depends. More will be described later. That joyful smile could be false and could be hiding hurtful secrets deep within his soul. Yuudai tries to not let anyone get to him – whether it be words or actions. He doesn’t really enjoy fighting or conflicts with others because according to him, “I’m a lover – not a fighter, love not war.” Of course he would say this in a slightly jokingly tone, but it still holds true to who he is. But in serious combat, sometimes he tries to lighten the mood with his antics and that – more often than not – gets him in trouble and sticky situations.

Yuudai’s other side is a completely different persona. It is of one that appears every now and then within the Sabaku bloodline – and that is an unsatiable desire for blood and battle. Traumatic and desperate events tend to trigger this side of Yuudai, causing him to become a battle-hungry beast. His eyes become filled with lustful anger that won’t cease until he gets what he wants. He will often say pretty damn creepy things while in this state and crack his neck repeatedly. In battle, Yuudai will not hesitate to play dirty in order to accomplish his goal – which most of the time would be to utterly massacre whoever he is fighting. Even with this overbearing curse, it can be seen as a blessing…at least a tiny bit. Even though, his mind is chaotic and not right at this time, Yuudai will not hesistate to kill – making him a merciless fighter. When he’s sparring this probably wouldn’t be the desired result, but it could happen. There are few things that can calm him while in this state. Someone who is close to him and attempt to speak with him, in hopes of connecting with the “true” Yuudai inside. Another, and much less diplomatic, way is to utterly demolish him in combat.

Appearance:
Yuudai stands at a meager height of 5 feet and 2 inches with a pair of searing emerald green eyes. This is quite different from the average Sabaku bloodline person, seeing as their eyes tend to be darker in color. His eyes however go well with his raven-black hair which also contain small undertones of red. His hair is longer in the front than it is in the back. The hair in the front go just beneath his eyes and in the back, it is only a couple of inches long. Yuudai’s eyes are the true windows into his soul and spirit. Some people, if they really wanted to, can tell by just looking into these dazzling orbs what his mood is. What his eyes reflect may not be constant with the rest of his expression, but that doesn't change the fact that he feels a certain way. Yuudai tries to hide his eyes in most case because they are the only things that will give one some insight into his true self.

His build is pretty slender, yet athletic. All of his days of traveling the endless deserts on his own in search for a purpose have forced him to become strong. Also, because of the trials of the sands, he has various permanent scars that refused to disappear. These serve as a constant reminder that he needs to be independent and strong to survive. Yuudai wears bleak colors of tan, off-whites, blacks, browns, and the like in his attire. They are your typical clothes that desert nomads would wear seeing as how the young shinobi-in-training is no different. Many would describe his clothing as tattered rags just thrown together into some odd ensemble, but he doesn’t care. These clothes also serve as a reminder that he is of the Sabaku bloodline – masters of the sands.

History

Yuudai was born during a traveling expedition that his parents and several others had taken in order to gather necessary resources for trade. Even though both parents were from the Village of Mirage, only Yuudai’s father was a descendant of the Sabaku bloodline. His mother knew about this and really thought nothing of it. She had come to learn that those of the Sabaku clan were prone to fits of rage and intense emotions. Unlike, some of the other villagers in the sand villages, the couple wasn’t afraid of what kind of person that their offspring would become. They’d love them just the same and that was that.

It was a rather inopportune time that Yuudai was born because a sandstorm had kicked up with great fury. His mother could not delay the birth any longer, so he had to be born out there in the unforgiving deserts. Because of the dangerous conditions that were forced upon the mother, she passed away shortly after giving birth to Yuudai. But she did live long enough to give him the name. Once the expedition made their way back to the Village of Mirages, Yuudai’s mother was given a ritualistic burial. This evoked tears from his father and her husband. He was now left with the difficult task of watching over his son who had unwillingly taken the life of his own mother. There was definitely a grudge present within his father against his son, but he later came to terms that he couldn’t change the past…

Yuudai’s early childhood years pleasant to say the least. Nothing extraordinary happened to him during that period which was necessarily a negative thing. His father never informed him of his Sabaku clan heritage, but it was apparent when the child threw violent temper tantrums almost daily. Through stern discipline and understanding, his father tried to wean him off of these dangerous habits. Some of the villagers had a hint that Yuudai was of Sabaku heritage simply because of his red and black hair. There weren’t many in the village who had red hair – much less those that had it mixed in with black. There wasn’t anything that they could show or say to prove this, but it was always floating around. It should have been a privilege and a great honor to be a part of the great Sabaku bloodline – to be related to one of the greatest Kage of the land of the sands. But some people had come to fear what the bloodline brought with it…

The growing Yuudai had been trying to train in preparation for the Academy in the Village of Mirages. His father taught him a couple jutsus during this time, but told him nothing of his heritage. He felt that it’d be better to keep his son in the dark about it because it would only bring harm in the future. This way of thinking would probably backfire and indeed bring harm in the future. Yuudai didn’t know who he was – only that he was a young child hoping to join the Ninja Academy.

His father had told stories of the great war that had taken place some years ago and that was also a contributing factor to why he wanted to join the school. These tales were of courage and valor that made Yuudai want to become just liked the heroes detailed in them. During training, these fits of rage were few and far between which was promising. His father didn’t want his son to be an uncontrollable beast who breaks under pressure.

Then the unthinkable happened. His father had taken his son out to the desert dunes for some training. During that time a couple of rogue ninja from the Sabaku clan tracked their footprints in the sand and watched them from afar. One night out in the sea of sand, these rogue ninja murdered Yuudai’s father and left Yuudai to wither away in the middle of the desert. It is unknown right now as to why members of his father’s own clan would murder him. Yuudai’s was severely distraught from this experience, but took what his father had taught him to heart. He was in the middle of the desert with no one to depend on, but himself. His only goal now was to find a way back to the Village of Mirages…

For a couple years, Yuudai traveled the desert – going from outpost to outpost in hopes of finding his village. Either no one knew the way or were unwilling to tell a child, he only found himself getting lost all too often. The deserts were much more dangerous than any other area in the world, according to Yuudai, but that's because he hasn't been outside of the endless sands. It was a wonder how someone so young was able to live for more than a few days out in the heat, but the young shinobi found a way. He kept telling himself that he would not die out here. His mother had died out on the sands when he was born, according to his father, and Yuudai didn't want to meet a similar fate.

Through the many days, weeks, and months that ensued Yuudai learned much about the desert. He learned what things were safe to eat, what things he should stay away from, and how to make sure he wasn't going in circles. At the young age of around 10 or 11 he had learned tracking skills that would take several years for an adult to learn. The reason he learned of it so fast was because he was forced to. If he didn't adapt to his environment accordingly he was going to die - right then and there. Whilst spending most of his time simply trying to stay alive, Yuudai kept training his jutsus that his father had taught him. They were sand jutsus and consisted of a Genjutsu and a Ninjutsu. He became pretty skilled at forming the hand seals needed to perform the jutsus and soon had perfected two jutsus that could help him survive in the desert. Even though he could use them very well - he was in no way a master at them. Yuudai still lacked the chakra and endurance neccessary to sustain the skills.

When things looked grim, he still pushed on. Yuudai had watched larger desert creatures devour smaller ones time and time again. It was the law of life in the desert and he figured that it'd apply everywhere. The strong outlived the weak, so to live he needed to be strong. This experience would leave an everlasting impression on Yuudai for many years to come. His skin had become thick with the constant battery of sand storms as had his spirit.

During one occasion, Yuudai actually had encountered a pack of wolves native to the sands. They were pretty large and were covered in sandy tan fur. It looked like the wolves viewed Yuudai as prey as they all had encircled him. Keeping his cool, he tried to think of some way to avoid these hounds. The only things at his arsenal were a pair of jutsus and his bare hands. Yuudai didn't get the opportunity to strike first as each wolf leapt at the young boy in succession. Instinctively, he had went through his hand seals as quickly as he could to put up a sand barrier. He succeeded in doing so as the wolves bounced off of the earthen barrier and collapsed onto the sands below. The wolves saw Yuudai as a creature stronger than them and viewed him as a predator. As any prey would do in this situation, they turned tail and fled. Yuudai was surprised that he'd fended off a small pack of sand wolves. Perhaps he wasn't so weak after all - perhaps the desert had made him stronger.

As Yuuda's tracking ability got better, he began noticing the tracks of merchants. He knew that they were merchant tracks because in addition to the human tracks there were also animal ones close behind. Those would be the animals used to carry heavy loads. He noted the patterns of them and had hoped that they would lead him back to the Village of Mirages. Oddly, Yuudai didn't happen upon any merchants on his way back, but he didn't care. He'd placed so much faith in his interpretation of the tracks that he fully believed they lead back to the village. He was right.

Yuudai had finally found his way back home, but had come back forever changed. The desert dunes had caused him to mature more in terms of his brain. He knew how to think on his toes and fend for himself better compared to the other children that were of his age. Most would probably be distraught and carry a huge burden of sorrow on their faces for the rest of their lives, but Yuudai didn’t. He knew that he had to move on in life with a smile even though the pain inside was intense. Emotion showed weakness and the desert had taught Yuudai that it was never okay to be weak. The weak perish.

I'm impressed. But this is a Top Shelf clan. You are fine with your appearance and personality, but your history can be longer. I know I sound strict as heck, but remember the Sabaku are the best of the best: I want to see you sweat for one. ;)

Oh, and as for your username, I think you are stuck with it.

Haha, I realized that. I wasn't positive if I had enough tidbits, so I'll definitely add some more to the history.

And as for the username, correct me if I am mistaken, admins are able to change member's usernames in the CP...Well according to my past experience with creating boards.

Yuudai’s eyes are the true windows into his soul and spirit. Most people can tell by just looking into these dazzling orbs what he’s thinking about or what he plans to do. They’d really have to concentrate however because they are the only things that will give one insight into his true self.

You might want to change that because when you RP with people, they might take advantage of that and try using it as an excuse to metagame.

Crack.

That's the sound her cup had made as she reached to drink her tea for breakfast. A crack that looked similar to a lightning bolt cascaded down the side. Tsu looked at the cup for a moment, wondering how it could have possibly broken like that. She wasn't a believer in omens. Without worry, she threw the cup away and went to the cupboard for another one, and poured another set of tea inside. The kitchen of her house had a large window in which she usually looked out of in the mornings, with today being no exception. It's how she decided what her day would be like; a gray sky meant an exciting day, while a blue sky meant a normal one. She would arm herself accordingly. Oddly enough, the sky was partly cloudy. She never really decided how to categorize that kind of sky.

It sure was a weird habit for someone who didn't believe in omens.

Ever since Tsu joined the academy, life had been something she couldn't categorize. Her view of the world began to invert; her self-righteous attitude was changing almost as quickly as her adolescent body. She could remember joining the academy as if it were only yesterday. Her first class had been Taijutsu. Tsu smiled at that thought. She was never really a fan of Taijutsu back then, and probably never will be. And now, on this partly cloudy day, was the day that she would have to exhibit her skills to prove that she was worthy of leaving the school. It wasn't that she didn't like the academy, it was just that there were better things to do than to chuck wooden weapons at people. Beforehand, she was convinced that she didn't like the village. In fact, she still doesn't, but at least she found a speck here-or-there that didn't suck.

While in her train of thought, she had finished drinking her tea quicker than she had realized. Pursing her lips as she looked down into the empty cup, she placed it in the sink along with the other dishes that she would have to do later. As she began walking toward the door, she yelled "Bye Mom!" loud enough so that she would hear it. Seconds later, a faint "Bye hun!" would be heard. Tsu then put on her shoes at the door and walked outside into the mysterious day. She had heard that the graduation requirements were often different for everyone. Not knowing how she would graduate, Tsu decided to go see one of her old teachers at the academy who could most likely tell her. It was the same teacher who introduced her to the Dark element. Unfortunately, she couldn't remember his name at the moment. What was it again? Mr....

"Mr. Fuun!" Tsu yelled to him as she saw him walking toward the forest. Seeing him suddenly allowed her to remember his name. Not only that, but she recalled how funny it was because it sounded like a prolonged "fun". Tsu began to jog toward Fuun, who had stopped so that Tsu could catch up to him. He looked surprised to see her. "Oh, hello there Tsu." he said simply, "It's been a while. Still been training your ninja skills?" Tsu looked down to the ground before she responded. "N-no. I’ve been trying to get faster lately...for my Graduation." she said. Fuun smiled. He reached into his pocket, and drew out a kunai, holding it out for Tsu to receive. Tsu's eyed widened. "A real live kunai..." Tsu muttered in awe. She was so used to the wooden type that they assigned her. She accepted the kunai, holding it in her hand pridefully. "Tsu, follow me." Fuun said with a more serious tone. Tsu obliged.

Fuun and Tsu walked deep into the forest, to say the least. Tsu remembered this forest as the same one she chased Kaos around in. Neither of them said a word to each other as they journeyed into the forest area of the village. Tsu's eyes constantly were brought down to the actual kunai in her hands. She was surprised that Fuun allowed her to have it, despite the rules that clearly stated she couldn't. Bubbling with curiosity, Tsu decided to break the silence by asking some questions. Hopefully he wouldn't mind.

"Why did you let me have this Kunai?"
"Tsu, your skill with ninja weapons surpasses most genin in this village, let alone academy students. It's almost shameful you haven't been given one until now."

Tsu began to blush. Compliments were given to her rarely, let alone so bluntly. As they continued to walk ceaselessly around the forest, she began to contemplate how skilled she really was in comparison to the world. Her thoughts ran deep as she began to imagine herself flawlessly annihilating foes with her new iron kunai. She imagined receiving awards, fame, and infamy. She hardly noticed that Fuun had stopped walking. Her face smushed against his back.

"Oof!"
"We're here."
"What are we doing here?"

Fuun turned around to face Tsu. His hair was white and frizzled in different directions, but his eyes were grey like hers. He had small wrinkles strewn about his face like an old person. Bending his knees to meet Tsu's height, he placed his finger onto his lips and made a "Shhhh" sound. It was the same gesture he did when he was trying to silence the class. Apparently, Tsu had asked too many questions already. It was her turn to answer a couple. Fuun looked her right in the eyes.

"I recall you saying you hated this village. Does that still hold true?" he said.
"Yes." Tsu replied. She felt as if she could answer freely in the depths of the forest.
"Then I have an offer for you. Will you become a disciple of the Seven Aspects?" he outstretched his hand to her as he asked.
"...Yes." Tsu replied after a quick moment of thought. Whatever it was, it sounded important. Tsu simply had no idea what it meant to be a disciple, but for some reason, she trusted him. She knew Fuun could tell.

Fuun stood up to his normal height again, and looked down at Tsu thoughtfully. He was surprised she accepted without so much as an explanation of what the Seven Aspects were. Scratching his chin for a moment, he spoke once more. "You will be the Spider aspect." he decided, "but to fulfill that name, you need to be much, much more skilled." He drew out another kunai, but this time, it was wooden. Tsu looked at the kunai with confusion. Why would a ninja of his ranking have a wooden kunai?

"Attack me." he said simply.
"...What?"
"Strike me. Now."

Tsu was hesitant. She simply couldn't attack her teacher on a whim. Yet somehow she felt as if he had something up his sleeve. Tsu knew that she wouldn't be able to kill Fuun, no matter how hard she tried. With that thought in mind, she decided that she would strike him to the best of her ability. "Ha!" she said as she thrusted the kunai with gusto and efficiency, aiming for his stomach. Fuun smiled.

He parried her strike with his wooden kunai by swiftly tapping the side of her arm with the side of his kunai. Her thrust was flung past him for a moment, and Fuun seized that moment to knee Tsu in the stomach. Tsu hit the ground immediately after. She coughed up a little blood. Among the twigs and leaves on the forest floor, she looked up at him in disbelief. She wasn't surprised that he could defeat her in one strike (since he was a teacher), she was surprised that he would do such a thing to his disciple. She began to wonder what the word truly meant. Fuun stood over her, glaring downward at her shameful failure. He cleared his throat as he began to walk in a circle around her.

"You are the Spider. Your strikes are not strong and multiple, but swift and critical. You are cunning, patient, and manipulative. Never strike an opponent that way again. Even dogs assess their opponent before attacking. Stand."

Easier said than done. Tsu put her bare palm on the ground and used it to push herself upward and onto her feet again. Indignantly, she wiped the blood from her lips. She now knew what was coming. He was going to make her strike him until he was impressed, and for every time he wasn't, she was going to get floored. All Tsu had in her arsenal was her wire, wooden shuriken, and the one metal kunai. What was she going to do with that? Without him asking her to strike him again, she jumped backward and sent two shuriken in her wake.

Fuun rolled his eyes for a moment, and then jumped out of the way of the shuriken in an instant. He moved so quickly that he seemed to disappear. Tsu's eyes frantically scanned the area for him. However, within a second of his "disappearance", he reappeared beside Tsu and kicked her firmly in the ribcage. She was sent tumbling across the forest for several feet until the momentum was stopped by a tree. Grasping her rib, she gazed wide-eyed at Fuun, who was walking toward her slowly. Her other hand was behind her back. "Patience." Fuun said as he strolled to where Tsu lay, "Didn't I remember telling you that Spiders are patient?" He was obviously holding back. If he wanted to, he could kill her before she could finish blinking.

She lay against the tree as Fuun finally stopped in front of her. Fuun looked down at her as she sat at the base of the tree with her injuries. Tsu refused to move. "I see potential. Don't die." he whispered just loud enough so that she could hear. Paradoxically, he raised his foot and slammed it down toward Tsu in an attempt to stomp her into the ground. Tsu swiftly turned and rolled out of the way, leaving behind a wooden kunai pointing upward. Fuun's eyes widened for a split second. His foot made contact with the tip of the wooden kunai, but he simply crushed it into splinters with his sole. His eyes turned to the dumbfounded Tsu. "Very valiant try. That's what I like to see. Again!" Fuun made several hand symbols at a marvelous speed. "Dragon Aspect: Flaming Beam." he stated.

Tsu instinctively drew the wire from her hair, sending chakra into it as she manipulated it with her hands. The wire mangled and flipped around until it became a solid dome of light metal. Fuun's fire jutsu was a pure beam of flame, striking the dome with horrible piercing strength. Tsu's desperate dome sizzled and bubbled above its melting point. From inside the dome, she realized that the beam was forming a particularly red hole from which it was about to burst through. Tsu was paralyzed with fear. She was trapped inside her own defensive mechanism, which was melting all around her. Suddenly, before her whole technique came burning down upon her, the fire ceased. The dome was warped, and the wire that created it was done for. As a coup-de-grace, Fuun kicked the dome upward, breaking it into several hot pieces of oblivion right before her eyes. Tsu's childhood weapon, the iron wire, was no more.

"You're too big for such...academy toys." Fuun remarked.
"You're the Dragon." Tsu said.
"...Hah. Very observant. Yes, I'm the Dragon and you're the Spider." replied Fuun.
"..Are there more?" Tsu asked.
"There will be seven upon completion. You are the first to be recruited." Fuun said as he approached Tsu.

Tsu backed up as rapidly as he approached. Her favorite teacher was trying to create a group of rebels that represented seven creatures. While Tsu thought he was insane, she couldn't help but admire his power. Pure strength and speed, supplemented with fire; that was definitely a Dragon. She supposed that her use of wire, which is similar to a spider's silk, gave him the inspiration to recruit her. Tsu smiled. Maybe this was the break that she'd wanted all along. Ever since she knew what being a ninja was, she wanted to be the most infamous kind. Now that she had an opportunity to join an up-and-coming group of missing-nin, why should she be afraid? She stopped backing up.

Fuun continued to move forward as he suddenly broke into a run toward Tsu. She stood staunchly. Fuun then made the symbol of the Tiger as he muttered the jutsu "Dragon Aspect: Searing Claw". His hand burst into flames which didn't seem to phase him. However, Tsu could feel the heat from his hand as he approached her. Bringing back his flaming hand, he would fling it forward in an upper-cut fashion to Tsu's chin. Before the strike could decapitate her, Tsu burst into a puff of smoke, leaving behind a chunk of branch that was vaporized by the blow.

"Was that both patience and cunning that I see? Very good." Fuu complimented. Tsu was now in a tree branch behind Fuun. Realizing that she would be found out in a matter of seconds, she immediately threw a flurry of wooden shuriken at him. He noticed her position as soon as the projectiles left her hand. "Dragon's Flight!" Fuun yelled as he leaped right toward Tsu, knocking away the wooden shuriken with the momentum of his attack. "A Taijutsu!?" Tsu thought. However, she expected him to counter-attack. Just as his flying punch would make contact with Tsu, she dissapeared once more into a branch. Fuun punched the branch she switched with, and then landed on the branch she was originally on. "Where are y--" Fuun's question was inturruped by Tsu, who was falling from the sky with the metal kunai outstretched. Fuun quickly grabbed her arm, in the small stuggle she managed to slightly nick his forearm.

"That's how a Spider fights. Good." He jumped from the branch and landed on the forest floor gracefully on his feet. Tsu jumped and landed on her feet as well, but it was noticeably less graceful than Fuun. She still had a long way to go.

"We're not done yet." Fuun said without being asked. He reached into his pocket and withdrew a scroll. Looking at it for a moment to see if it was the right one, he tossed it to Tsu without warning. Tsu promptly caught it. She was still under the adrenaline of almost dying thrice. "What is it?" Tsu asked. "It's a Dark jutsu. Shadow Possession Technique. Learn it. Now." Fuun replied.

Tsu couldn't believe it. After such a vicious fight (that she technically could never have won) she was expected to learn a new jutsu as well? However, knowing what would happen if she declined, Tsu opened the scroll and began to read the instructions. Fuun sat at the base of a tree, busying himself by sharpening his wooden kunai with a metal one. Tsu read the entire jutsu over 3 times before deciding that it wasn't very diffucult to pull off. One seal? How hard could that be?

Preparing herself, she practiced the seal of the Rat while keeping an eye on the scroll. Her shadow seemed to respond whenever she did so. Maybe it was her imagination, but it seemed that as she made the Rat seal, her shadow would begin to stretch out a little. It was as if it wanted to jump from behind her.

Tsu made the seal of the Rat and gave the jutsu the proper chakra output. Tsu was amazed to see her shadow wiggle and come to life. Her shadow stretched itself outward slightly, and then stopped. It then wiggled back into its rightful place next to Tsu. Although that bit of the technique was nice, she was quite sure she didn't do it right. The scroll described that it should reach out and attach to an opponent. Tsu looked over at Fuun as he carved the kunai. She grinned as an idea struck her.

Making the seal of the Rat once more, her shadow came to life and moved about. She made it stretch behind a tree where it gained more momentum from another shadow. It galloped behind trees, around leaves, and wherever it could get another shadow to live upon. Moving in a straight line from point-to-point made it hard to move. Eventually, it took its roundabout route right to Fuun's shadow, clasping it playfully. Fuun stopped carving the kunai. He wanted to look at Tsu, but he couldn't. Tsu smiled. Fuun smiled. Tsu raised her left hand. Fuun raised his left hand.

"Good." said Fuun, "Now release the jutsu or I'll release it for you."

Tsu gulped. She parted her hands that formed the Rat, and her shadow curled back into her fearfully. She knew he was proud of her; he probably didn't expect her to learn the jutsu so quickly. The wind blew, and the trees swayed in response. The forest became quiet now that Fuun wasn't trying to kill her. Tsu kept practicing the jutsu's movement since she didn't have anyone to attach it to. Tsu's vision began to blur more and more each time she used it.

"Stop that." Fuun said, "That move is costly..."

By the time he warned her, it was too late. She was already swaying back and forth more than the trees. The sky seemed to fold onto itself and collapse. Her vision became darker and darker. The last thing that Tsu saw before passing out was Fuun. He was sighing. "Sorry.." Tsu could only whisper before she fell onto the twigs and leaves of the forest floor.

"I must have overworked her." Fuun said aloud, yet to himself. He picked up Tsu's relatively small frame. Fuun made a face. Tsu was sweaty. He carried her off and out of the forest, heading in the direction of her home.

When Tsu awoke, it was in the middle of the night. She looked around frantically before realizing she was in her own room. On her nightstand was a note that was attached to a strange device, along with an armband that had the symbol of the Valley adorned upon it. Slowly turning on her lamp (she was still sore), she took the note off and examined the device for a moment. It was a small machine with a wrist-strap and a kunai on the end. The device looked sturdy. She began to read the attached note. It read:

"Oh Spider,

I meant to give these to you after you completed the jutsu, but you fell unconscious. Next time you do that, I'm leaving you where you lay. You deserve the headband, and I've filled out the paperwork for your new rank. Don't get to attached to it, considering our plans. The device, which I've rightfully named "Spinneret", shoots a kunai impressively. However, the part that should truly excite you is that it also has 20 feet of steel wire attached. That's all I'm going to tell you. Use it wisely, and I'll meet you upon my discretion. You'd better be stronger then.
"

Tsu couldn't help but smile. Fuun's "tough love" strategy was scary, yet effective. She was finally a Genin! Turning off her lamp, she decided she would try out the weapon (and celebrate) in the morning. For now, she decided to rest. Even a Spider needs its sleep.

Comparing it to Draven's Chidori Quest, I seem to have the right amount. His needed to be 56 paragraphs, and it passed containing 9,500 words. Mine needed 20 paragraphs, and it contains 3,230, which is a little more than 1/3rd his. Similarly, 20 is roughly 1/3rd of 56.

Yay!
