Grenade Bomb (Lv2)

It hadn’t taken him long to reach the beach. He had gotten up early this morning for this one and he disliked being lately intensely. It had been a while since he had sparred with another opponent and he would admit that he was looking forward to it. It would definitely be different from his usual training which consisted of him and a wooden dummy as his partner. A real person would be a test of his skill, and he really needed the challenge. The sun was just beginning to rise as he walked along the lake, making his way down the sandy beach where he had promised to meet his opponent, a young Genin named, Kinshiro, who was about a two years younger than him. Age meant little to Seimei though, as he knew that Kinshiro was tougher than he looked. Underestimating him would be foolish and Seimei did not wish to lose today. Looking out over the wide expanse of water, his orange eyes studied the waters, watching and waiting silently for Kinshiro to come. Ten minutes passed and Seimei was beginning to grow slightly annoyed though there was no hint of it on his face. Why was Kinshiro so late? Growling softly, he kept his eyes straight ahead, that is, until he heard the shift of sand behind him giving way to Kinshiro’s arrival. The younger ninja trudged into view, grinning sheepishly. Kinshiro was thirteen years old, with dark green hair and warm brown eyes that were the epitome of friendliness. It had taken him long enough, but at least he was here to say the least. He was always late whenever they had these little matches. Seimei would not say that he liked the younger ninja, but he respected his skills and knew that it would be a good fight. “Sorry Seimei-kun!” he called, running over to him, smiling.“My mother held me up a little later than normal…” And then the late ninja began a diatribe about how bad his morning had been, consisting of an attack by some dogs in his neighborhood, and his getaway. Seimei sighed, his lips twitching slightly from masked amusement. “…It’s alright.” interrupted Seimei softly, his voice immediately causing Kinshiro to go silent for a moment. “Shall we get started then?” Though Kinshiro appeared to be having fun babbling about his morning, he was obviously much more interested in sparring with Seimei. His brown eyes lit up with a playful, competitive gleam. “Righty then, let’s do this, huh?” Kinshiro said, walking over some feet away, falling into a relaxed combat position. Nodding in assent, Seimei removed his robe, folding it and laying it neatly on a tree branch. Stretching quickly to get himself ready for the workout, he watched as Kinshiro did the same for a moment, their growing muscles flexing as the sun shined off in the distance, lighting up their ‘battlefield’. Unbuttoning the whitened shirt that he wore to allow himself to breathe, Seimei fell into an elegant and poised fighting stance, taking a few steady breaths, before motioning for Kinshiro to move. Smirking slightly, the boy obliged, darting forward with his fist pulled back, making it obvious what he was attempting to do. He was fast, however, and his sudden move nearly caught Seimei off guard, but he managed to narrowly dodge out of the way of the aggressive move. “Come on, Seimei-kun,” called Kinshiro, smirking slightly. “You’re slow today. Is something wrong?” Making a slight face, which caused Kinshiro to laugh, he made his move, moving over the grainy sands with great agility, and raising his fist, went for a punch to the jaw. Kinshiro attempted to block but was cut up slightly by a gust of wind, making him wince in pain as several cuts appeared and began to bleed simultaneously. “What the hell was that?” yelped Kinshiro, leaping back and waving his arm around animatedly. “Fist of the North Wind.” replied Seimei, smirking as he fell back into a stance. “Aw, that’s cheating! You used ninjutsu!” snapped the younger Genin, still waving his arm around, eyes watering as the cuts began to sting. It felt like he had been given a dozen paper cuts at once. “There is no such thing as a just fight,” he said, unable to keep from laughing at the younger ninja. “We are ninja. And by the way, what I used was actually taijutsu.” Grumbling, Kinshiro fell back into form, fists up, prepared for the next assault, watching Seimei intently for any sign of what he may do next. He knew that Seimei was highly intelligent and he was probably planning a way to win as he was thinking. He would need to act quickly so as too keep Seimei from having time to think. The more time he had, the less chance Kinshiro had of winning. He would be planning several steps ahead now, waiting for the right moment and time. The young Genin made quick and erratic moves, throwing punches and kicks at Seimei with all of his skill and ferocity. What Kinshiro was not aware of was that Seimei had had plenty of time, and he was ready to execute his plan when the time came. He would just have to wait until the ripest time came to do what he had to do. He loved dragging his planning into a fight like this, as it proved that unlike some taijutsu specialists, there were actually some that had a brain or at least they used it. Blocking many of the attacks, he watched Kinshiro with keen eyes, waiting for it, not wanting to move too early. Timing was everything, after all. He was also aware when sacrifices had to be made as well. Deciding to lure Kinshiro into a false sense of security, he moved forward, ducking down quickly as his partner attempted to knock him away, but allowing himself to be kicked away before he continue with the strike. Kinshiro seemed a little more confident now, but this helped give Seimei confidence as well. Now he believed that Seimei had no plan, which was precisely what he wanted him to think. He did, but the plan was to make Kinshiro think he didn’t have one. Sometimes, he felt his brilliance ought to be written down. With that accomplished, he moved again, this time to seriously strike him down. Moving quickly, he darted forward, spinning quickly, using the force to gain strength. Seimei hoped that the other was ready and able to block as he really did not want to break any bones. It would be annoying and he would be obligated to help carry Kinshiro all the way back to the village. Sadly, his opponent wasn’t, and his fist collided with his chin, sending him rocketing upward from the attack, a yelp of surprise escaping his lips as he fell back down, landing some distance away on his back. He lay there for a moment, breathing hard, before he jumped up looking annoyed. Luckily, however, Seimei had not broken his jaw, seeing as he was trying to speak already. “You tricked me!” he yelled. “I thought you didn’t have a plan!” “Never think that.” answered Seimei, standing a few feet away, watching as Kinshiro tried to get to his feet. “Let me guess,” started Kinshiro, jumping up, brushing the sand off his pants and moving back into position. “You made me think that.” “I didn’t make you think anything.” said Seimei, smiling slyly. “You chose to think that way yourself.” “…Seimei-kun?” “Yes?” “I hate you…” Seimei laughed, leaping forward for the next attack, and decided to test out another one of his many plans. This one was even more fun than the last. Maneuvering this way and that, he managed to put the sun behind him, which was terribly bright, noting how Kinshiro’s eyes began to squint, struggling to stay open now from the onslaught of sun. The younger ninja tried to force him to move away from his position, but Seimei managed to block several of his attacks, wincing when a stray punch landed, surprising him slightly. As his opponent attempted to punch him again, he punched his hand hard, causing Kinshiro to jerk back in pain. He tried again with the other this time, receiving a sharp rap to the hand once again. Kinshiro leapt back now, trying to ignore the suns rays that were shining in his eyes, and he seemed to think a moment. He watched him, waiting for him to make a move and Kinshiro did not disappoint, as the distance began to close between them rapidly. It seemed as though he really wanted to win this time, not just get caught in Seimei’s plans and traps. What he didn’t know was that he already had. Kinshiro had it all planned out for once and he was about to strike when suddenly Seimei was on the offensive, darting forward quickly to deliver his own attack. Dumbfounded, he froze up, realizing too late that this was what Seimei had been waiting for. Caught off guard, he got a sharp, painful kick to the stomach and an elbow into the back which knocked him to the ground. “…Another plan?” asked Kinshiro, voiced muffled by sand as he lay there face down in it, not moving. “Affirmative,” Seimei replied, grinning again. Ah, yes, this was too much fun. He heard Kinshiro struggling to get to his feet and he walked over, leaning down to give him a hand. Grabbing his arm, Kinshiro got to his feet, brushing himself off once again, watching as Seimei did the same in silence. “Want to keep going?” questioned Kinshiro, smiling excitedly. It was rare when he had such fun as this. Seimei didn’t seem to be all that bad of a guy at all and he felt badly for having a hand in tormenting him back in their Academy days. Seimei seemed to have been lost in thought for the moment, and he didn’t seem to hear him until a few seconds later. “Ah, what?” he mumbled, looking over at Kinshiro, his eyes distracted. “Oh, yes, of course, let us continue.” His usual cool attitude returned instantaneously then and he appeared ready now. Returning to the real world, Seimei fell back into stance, prepared for a fight, a new plan already beginning to bubble to the service. Grinning, Kinshiro did likewise, wondering if perhaps he would be caught up in yet another of Seimei’s plans. More than likely. |
