Like usual, Tatsu was away from the Mirage Village. Here he was now, sitting on top of a half broken building in he wastes of which once was his old home. This was the land, that was once protected by his great great great grandfther, Sabaku no Gaara, the Kazekage of Sunagakure no Sato in the land of Kaze no Kuni. What was even more spectacular was his nearly mirror image of Gaara that he was, all except for the scars on his cheeks...which he had given to himself...for what he'd done to this place.

The night was cool as the sun had only just fallen. The sky was clear, and the stars were bright and so was the crescent moon looming overhead. The sand on the winds swirled about, as usual, and his short messy red hair moved with the wind, and also the extra cloth of his headband and the bloody old scarf around his neck. Everything for Tatsu, that he held dear to him was a momento of the past, and a window to what could happen in the future, empowering his rage, yet also leveling out his emotions.

He had grown so much from what he'd used to be. He'd become strong, he'd found people who cared about him, and a new place to call home. And yet, evenso, a warior could and would never forget the horrors of their lives, or the ones that had gone. Tatsu sat there in silence, thinking of when he was younger, of his mom and even his dad who had spent most of his time with Marukyru, making him jealous and in turn it made him stronger in ninjutsu, as he had went to train himself, so that one day he could rival and beat his older brother. Then Kairai..the misfit child..the one who liked the wind...he had once picked on him, as even directed by his parents, to try and force him to use the sand. That had eventually happened...but years later...when it was too late for their mother to see.

Oh Gods, why was she doing this?

Here she was, in the middle of the night, following the Sabaku out it into the desert to this place. She didn’t know why she felt compelled to do so, but when she had been looking out the window, she had happened to see him wandering into the desert. Curiosity took hold of her, along with other feelings that she was slightly ashamed of, and before she knew it, she was following him, trying to be as quiet as possible. Who was she kidding though? He had lived in this desert for years, and surely he would be able to hear the shift of the sand beneath her feet as she moved. Instinct told her to follow, her brain told her to turn back and pretend that she had not seen him, that she didn’t care about him. Of course, she didn’t do that, and she slipped on behind him until he reached the ruins. This was the ruins of the Hidden Sand Village, the place where the great Kazekage Gaara lived when the village was in its prime. She would admit that it was an honor to be here in this place, where her family had once lived alongside the Sabaku long ago.

The sand was whipping about her because of the nightly winds, sending her rusty brown hair over her shoulders as she walked, trying to keep quiet. Green eyes flicked about worriedly, hoping that she had been seen as she tried to hide behind an old building. Then she saw him, sitting atop a ruined house, his eyes studying the night with the usual intensity that he gave the day. The moon made him seem different, and he looked nearly like a statue as he sat there. Ishino stood there, dumbfounded, staring at him before shaking her head and moving to another place to hide. This was so embarrassing, and she could was hope that he did not catch her. He was so frightening at times, even when he didn’t mean to, and even Ishino would flinch if he gave her even the slightest glare.

The Sabaku Lord radiated deadliness.

Gulping quietly, she stood there, watching him, that is, until something hissed behind her. Shit. Turning, she saw a rattlesnake, its tail rattling dangerously and its incisors revealed as it began to move toward her. If she moved, it would strike, and she would be dead meat. She stood there, staring at it wide eyed; before only her instinct took over and did what it thought was logical, regardless of the implications.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" With a scream, she took off running, trying to get away from it as quick as possible, though she happened to trip over her own two feet. This caused her to go rolling down the sand dune and land in a heap in front of the house. And directly in the sight of Tatsugira. Shit.

The man with his red hair and green, dark shadowed eyes was paying more attention to detail than he appeared to be. Being nearly one with the sands, he could feel of the movement in the desert around him as he traveled, and as he sat there on the roof.
He knew who was following him, but he wanted to see what she'd do. ofcourse if she would try anything to harm him, which he doubted, the sand wouldn't allow that anyway, so you see it was pointless to worry.

He just continued to sit there and look out at the ruined village, quietly, thinking about his family and his home....that is, until he heard a snake hiss, followed by a scream. However, all he merely did, as his concentration was on every grain of sand in that area, was shift his eyes until the snake may try to strike her, or something else happened. The something else did happen, and the snake behind the girl was now poisong to strike at the girl's leg, having slithered through the sand just to make it's mark and poison the girl until she would die.

But, Tatsugira wouldn't allow this. By mere concentration he made the sand around the snake rush up in small yet strong cords, binding the snake and snapping it, then the sand took it below to it's grave. Now, the Sabaku sighed a big long sigh that sounded like more of a huff, and he stood up, and before the girl would know it, he was gone from the roof and standing beside her, his arms folded across his chest, looking down at her with that same expression he usually gave.

"So.....what are you doind out here? You know you could have just died." He stated, with little emotion in his voice. He waited for a response. If she stuttered and shook, she was afraid. He didn't want her to be afraid of him, but it wouldbe up to her. He had no control of human matter, just the desert sands.

As she had been rolling down the dune, the thought crossed her mind that the snake could follow. Great. Landing in a heap at the bottom, she was about to rise, that is until she heard the tell tale hiss of the snake again. Oh shit, it had come down after her. Horrified, she stared it, completely helpless, much to her annoyance. But then the sand around it had coiled around it tightly, crushing it, before dragging it into the deep sand. She stared at the spot where the snake had once been in shock, mystified, and then a rather familiar and unemotional voice reached her ears, betraying nothing of what he might be feeling. ‘Busted,’ she thought, wondering what he thought of her now. The Sabaku probably thought she was some moronic girl who had a propensity for getting into dangerous or deadly situations.

“So.....what are you doing out here? You know you could have just died.”

Rising and dusting herself off, she tried to get back her old assurance and confidence. She wasn’t afraid of him, she would admit that readily enough, but she couldn’t seem to act herself around him. Giving herself a swift and decisive mental slap, she finally managed to get her mouth to open, though with difficulty. Taking a breath, she said, “Ah, I couldn’t sleep so I decided to take a walk.”

‘I’m a horrible liar,’ thought Ishino, hoping for the survival of her pride that Tatsugira didn’t realize it. ‘A walk…how stupid is that for an excuse.’

At the moment, Ishino really wished she had just stayed home and read the scroll as she had planned to. No, she had to come out here in this godforsaken desert and follow a man who probably didn’t give two shits about her. And that was excluding the fact that he had just saved her life again. Note the hateful word of again. This was humiliating, considering the fact that she had taken care of herself for her whole life, and yet here she stood, letting herself get into such situations, and then having to be saved by someone. She really needed to quit thinking about this before she went mad or something. At this rate, it might just happen.

C’mon Ishino! Snap out of it! This isn’t you! What happened to the tough girl who took on the swordsman in Valley!?

“Besides, its nice out here in the desert at night.” added Ishino, trying to get back to her usual self. “And then I happened to see you, so I followed…”

Crap. She had just told him the truth. Well, most of it. This could not be happening…

Tatsugira huffed again, smirking slightly, as he closed his eyes. The ground shook slightly, but then setted again. He then opened his eyes and looked at the girl again. He was no fool. He knew the girl had to be hiding more than she was telling hm. However, he would not press those matters. He knew it would be all too apparent sooner or later and her actions would betray her.

"It's a pretty long walk from the Mirage Village you know. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you followed me here for more than just that excuse. And, not only that, but you've managed to nearly die twice and I've had to recover you before you were taken. How does that make you feel? Ashamed? You are a ninja right? You've got to be... He trailed off.

The young man decided he'd test out her ability, bygiving her a test of his own. It would be quite easy for him to kill her, what with the billions upon billions of gallons of sand available to him. But, he wasn't that type. He merely wanted to see how strong she was. And so, he would begin by shifting the sand around them, first slowly, then more violently. The wind picked up...or was it the wind? In th dark night, the bluish grey grains of sand swirled about lifting off the ground.

With every word that came from his mouth, Ishino felt worse. Great, now he was making fun of her. Her mouth went dry, and she was pretty sure her posture became slumped rather obviously, as though what he said was weighing her down. This was just perfect. She screwed up only a couple of times, and now she was being told so to her face. How did it make her feel? She felt embarrassed, ashamed, and of course, pissed off royally. Not that such a thing was unusual for her, considering all the times she had lost her temper with others and herself a long time ago. For whatever the reason, it was harder to swallow such things when Tatsugira told her so. Hell, if Kotouru had spoken to her in such a manner, she would have had her Kusari around his throat in a heartbeat.

Her temper prickled slightly, just beginning to bubble, but she kept it in check and under control, not wanting him to know how much his word’s affected her. What really didn’t help was that because of her big mouth, he now realized that she had an ulterior motive for coming out into the desert. Shoot, she may as well have said, ‘I have a strange infatuation with you, so I followed you out here to gawk at you.’ Her face reddened slightly with the mere thought, and she bowed her head, trying to hide it. God, this conversation was not going the way she wanted it to.

“Ah, I…I just wondered what you were doing,” said Ishino, which was half the truth. An old trick she had once been taught was when someone suspected you of lying, you ought to tell them the truth, but not all of it so as to knock off suspicion. Hopefully, in this case, it would succeed. “I have immense respect for you…”

And then she noticed the sand beginning to lift into the air, and she wondered what was going on. She looked at Tatsugira questioningly, that is until she felt the sand shift beneath her, nearly knocking her off balance. What was he doing? He had to be doing it, considering he was a Sabaku, a master of the sand. Stabilizing herself, she questioned, “What are you doing?!”
