Gaara's stats (metaphorically) were definitely too high to be in the exam, yet there he was. ICly, you can't tell "Oh, this guy has X stat points, we'll promote him now!" The exams are the IC reasons for the promotion. The exam is supposed to be a test of strength, right? So it's the time where those who are above the genin level show that. Why do the chunnin exams anyway if you're just going to autopromote people? *supports Kenny* |

I also support Kenny. The only reason characters were promoted before were simply because they were the first ninja in the village and were the best at the time. When a village starts up... they don't want nothing but Genin, do they No, they are going to make people Jounin and Chuunin right away to establish the proper 'village feel'. |

You also have to understand that not everyone that joins will become a Chuunin. The people with the higher stats are more than likely going to be the ones who made it, but it'll be roleplayed out and not just given. |

Exactly, and like in the anime/manga, they also need leadership skills. Shikamaru was abviously the weakest one fighting wise, but he had/has the potential to be a leader of a squad, thus his promotion, so people don't technically need to win, but we don't need everyone using that as an excuse to become a chuunin if they lose in the tournament. |

Yea, but like they said in the episode... "Hey I completed the mission, but everyone who was on it died" wont cut it. Naruto is the type that tries to take on the responsibility of every issue without thinking and tries to complete it no matte what. But he also often forgets about the main cause and focus' on a smaller one. |

Well, I'm glad that is settled. So is there anything else that needs to be settled/asked for the exams? =D |

my beef, is thta people are saying chuunin's should participate in this, when they said people wh were promoted to chuunin caus eof time skip. They mad ehave been promoted to chuunin due to time skip, but that's not the only reason. those characters did things that others didn't. Started villages, were very active members and deserved through constant rp an growth with their character. *has one of those characters* so making chuunin's participate is not going to happen for them to prove their skill? Also if all the genin join, we need a considerable amount of Chuunins and Jounins to be in this, and are there any Jounin? |

No Jounins here. And we already settled that matter Tony. Chuunin exam is for Genin, not Chuunin. Though Chuunin and others who help should be payed. >_> I'll help. ^.^ |

Ninja being payed to help out their village and make it look better? That's preposterous! My characters are doing it as volunteer work. Why pay others to do it when some are willing to do it for free or I can just control NPC's :P |

Come on Cloud. That would null the reality of the villages. We should also be making taxes to make it real. Well, that is if the members wont mind. |

There was a huge system and such for that. But it depended far too much on a Village Mod. What if a Village Mod went inactive or didn't keep up with everything? It would crumble. Now, if I made a system to do it with javascript. It would be perfect. BUT!!! I am waiting for Zetaboards to come about before I do that. |

That would be so uber cool! A concept of a Village Ninja council should be put to mind or a hierarchy of authority on the village in case of mod absence will do. I am quite skeptic about its essenciality though. |

It would just take me to revamp a money code system where a persons actual account holds their characters money and we just put up javascript shops in for each village that only certain characters can access... it would be a highly advanced code and would be MUCH easier to do when Zeta is released. Create a Mirage Group Create Bide Group Create Valley Group Create Crypt Group Each Group will have access to different parts of the 'shop'. It would also force me to either make it so the accounts hold three different money things titled as. Character One's Money: 100 Character Two's Money: 120 Character Three's Money: 70 Have it so Mods can just click a + sign on the character to add the money on the account (It would be listed on every post under the warning table) and they can deplete it with a - sign as well. I'd then have to assign each Village mod a fourth money slot that is the Village Revenue. That would be where all the money the village made goes to. When someone purchases something from Bide, some of that purchase goes there. The money could be used to get more items in shops. I think instead of making it so people cannot purchase from opposing villages, just have it as a. "You can... but you'd just be making the other village more powerful by doing so." Type thing. That and instead of putting super rare items in the Java shop, we can just have them purchase it the old fashioned way to prevent anyone from finding a way to get it themselves. It is just an outline for now, though. The only problem would be having to keep track of what they actually DID or did NOT purchase since we would need to add the item to their characters profile and no amount of coding would do that automatically. Hmm... I'll have to ponder on that some more and do some tests of it. It would definitely be unique and add a good flavor to the site. But it would be a lot of work. But it would also allow me to learn and try new things later. Like a java character sheet that makes modding easier... ooh. I have a few ideas already :) |

Awesome! I was planning to make Village Missions where some members get a rare item for the village only to be sold to other members. Oryt? |

I remember that. It was half-way in development before we called NSL quits for a break, I think. Cool idea. |

I doubt it'll happen. You saw what the saga did to the board. |

True but the Saga had little to do with personal gain. I think that everyone will be more interested in getting their characters promoted. |

That and the Chuunin Exams will not halt the time-line. They are side story of sorts that after this one village mods can hold anytime they feel needed. Just at least two weeks after the last one, ya know? At least. |
