I see what Seenter did, but I kind of like my version too. It's of a lower Rank but provides limitations as well that I feel could be beneficial story-wise. I'd like to go ahead with the request process based on what I have. ^_^

Magical Minimalist Description: Using the concept of the Mini status effect, Zander uses his magic to shrink down an Item, Weapon, Armor, Accessory or Machine. In the shrunken state, the object has a Weight of 1 but its normal Strength/Durability. Requirements: 70 Magic, Essence of the Lifestream Effect: Shrinks Items/Weapons/Armor/Accessories/Machines down to 5 inches tall. Weights are reduced to 1, but Strength/Durability remains the same. Cannot shrink the items of others unless Zander's (Magic + Intelligence) is greater than the opponent's (Spirit + Intelligence). Cost: 1 MP to shrink, 1 MP to expand

I would suggest increasing the cost of shrinking the item this technique is used on. Also, there are the questions of what happens when the technique is used on a worn item, and when one is willing to let the item be reduced.

Magical Minimalist Description: Tired of being burdened with his various belongings, Zander has devised two separate but effective ways to handle his problem. By exercising his Magic and utilizing his above-average will-power, Zander is able to either negate the Weight of objects or shrink them down so as to take up less space. He cannot do both at once, however. Requirements: 70 Strength, 70 Magic, 70 Intelligence, Thick-Headed, Essence of the Lifestream Effect: When objects are full-sized, Zander can channel magic into them to negate their Weight. He can also channel magic into them to shrink them down to 5 inches in height and reduce their Weight to 1. In either case, Strength/Durability remain the same. Only works on objects in Zander's possession. Cost: 5 MP to negate all Weight on Zander, 1 MP to shrink an object, 1 MP to enlarge an object
Edited, yo.

I had been planning on them being one-off costs, actually. I'd be willing to double them to that effect (making it 10 per thread for weightlessness, 2 to shrink for the thread and 2 to enlarge for the thread).

....Gin's approved technique is 5 per post and that requires a Materia as well as 50 Magic. So considering the higher requirements and all, I'd say 20 MP cost, 2 shrinking and enlarging.

I have a hard time considering it possible for a 5-inch-long exact replica of a 2 handed sword dealing the same amount of damage as the real deal while "wielded". It would also require a completely different weapon skill to wield such weapons because they are no longer at the size required to wield them as you normally would.

So we're agreed on the shrinking/enlarging costs, which is good. But 20 seems a bit steep to me.
Compromise at 15?
EDIT: The point of shrinking them is simply to have them take up less space. Maintaining Strength/Durability only serves to have it be that they don't break easily when in shrunken form. They are not meant to be wielded in miniature form...indeed, it would be almost impossible.

Mention they cannot be wielded in shrunken form and I'll give +1/4 approval instead of -1/4 approval.

If they shrink, it might fall under usable form for Moogles, since they got the tiny limbs trait.
...
Actually, would that happen?

No, I think they'd be too small for even Moogles to use. Also...

Objects cannot be used/wielded when in shrunken form Cost: 15 MP to negate all Weight on Zander, 2 MP to shrink an object, 2 MP to enlarge an object
Good to go?
