(I guess I put a little supernatural in this lol, oh well. The shadow and everything is just Riku’s imagination.)

Riku sat in the cave. Something had been brewing in him that seemed to have knocked the natural balance of his existence off. Riku had tried for a very long time to be in the gray area that he felt most at home in. This special area for him was how he could feel connected with everything that revolved around him. He wasn’t dominated by either side, which allowed him to dip into either sides of the balance. He could understand and examine both the light and dark of the galaxy. This also allowed him to remain unhindered to the influences that seemed to have pressured most souls that he encountered.

Lately, however, Riku had felt the evil rising. To the people this was a bad omen. Riku had come to the knowledge of using the strengths that he needed from the shadow though. Most people would be overwhelmed by the light and then become blinded by the rest of the universe. They would have a weakness for having such a perfect heart. That characteristic left them unable to understand what other creatures strive and depended on. They would be lost the moment something adding to a catastrophe would happen.

Riku opened his eyes. He felt it suddenly. He felt the dark. It was trying to consume him. He was being gradually taken over by what others feared. He didn’t quite have the same fear as the rest of his people. He was not scared to face the dark that existed, but he was terrified of the consequences of what the dark was capable of he had ever lost control…

Riku jumped up and his legs came down from the Indian position that they were once in just seconds before. Something had to be done. He could feel it…

“Get out of me!!!” Riku screamed in pain. His body began to slowly convulse and he collapsed to the floor of the deep dark cavern that he referred to as home…

Riku stammered around violently. His muscles tightened to the tension that it felt as if they were about to snap. The pressure that his body felt…It was like being in the center of the planet. He became heavier by the second. A loud and slow deep noise repetitively echoed in his head. His breaths began to gurgle. He could feel a slick fluid like substance build inside him. He pores on his skin began to seep sweat that burned but was cold as ice.

Riku began punching the rock-surfaced wall of his cave. Tiny pebbles and dirt fell from each punch. Cracks slowly inched out from the impact zone that he steadily slammed his fist in to. He then stopped and pressed against the wall with both hands. His back began to arch. The fluid that built in his mouth slowly oozed out. He gagged loudly as he looked at the ground below him. The pain was harsh and the ooze that dripped from his mouth was making it harder to breathe.

“AAAaaaahhhhhh!!!!!” Riku tensed up as he yelled out. He raised his head and screamed to the point to where the ooze was propelling from his mouth. The voice he yelled out in was gurgling because of the substance. The ceiling of the roof began to blur as he stared at it. His eyes strained. He could feel them bulge from his eye sockets.

Riku’s body jumped. He bent forward and curled while standing. He began to gag again. He clinched his abdomen tightly. The fingers on his hands gripped the cloth of his shirt tightly. The fabric slowly tore and ripped from his nails that were naturally sharp. After the slits in the fabric were formed his skin became victim to the self-infliction. The skin tore just as easy, if not easier, and blood dribbled from his newly opened wounds.

Riku felt it now.

The dark…the shadow…the evil…

The feeling in him wasn’t just mentally or spiritually now. He couldn’t actually physically feel the existence of the abomination in him. It was in his stomach. What he felt was slowly easing its way up from his stomach. It was moving and rolling. The thing was rumbling and moving farther from the center of his body to the nearest exit it could find. Riku was trying to force it out. He tried until he felt as if he was about to explode leaving his once famed existence only inhabiting the walls of this cavern.

Riku clinched his stomach tighter with one hand. The other hand kept the repetitive motion of punching the wall he leaned on. His body was becoming deformed as the dark moved. It was appearing to be a lump of some sort. It was visible as a lump that moved under his skin. The lump had now moved from the stomach to the throat. His skin stretched inhumanly possible to almost any race, but not to him.

Riku then felt the relief…

Riku’s body shot forward and the lump that grumbled in his stomach had not exited. It was an egg of some sort and covered in the sheet of ooze that he had previously been vomiting. He panted heavily as he stood there watching the thing that he had just spat out from inside him. It just sat there motionless.

“What the heck…Did I just give birth?” Riku was lost in the moment. He knew that it wasn’t time. The human race was defiantly not asexual, but it was in the form of reincarnation. It wasn’t unlike people that just lived until they were killed or ready to die. Then in that moment they would give birth to the next of their people. It was almost like being immortal, but…the draw back was that they needed to be fertile. If they became fertile and failed to die then their offspring would destroy them upon release.

Yet Riku remained standing and alive…

“Wait…this isn’t even possible…” Riku muttered.

By what he had been through in his past, Riku could hardly call himself fully human, even though that was most defiantly his full race. He more or less considered himself half of another being. Riku was the evil of something that was once both. He was a twin so to say. This wasn’t possible for Riku to even do…was it?

Riku knelt before what seemed like an egg. He noticed that it was slowly growing. The oddity was almost growing at the speed that wouldn’t be noticed at a first look, but a second glance it would become apparent. Riku just couldn’t understand what was happening. Then it all became clear when he felt the change in his body. The cloud that swarmed his mind was gone. The situation that stood before him was bright as the clear sky now…

“No…” Riku softly whispered. “What have I done…”

The egg became more active suddenly. The surface cracked. Then it shattered. From the egg stood another Human. It was an exact replica of Riku. It stood in every shape, form, and fashion of the keyblade warrior. There was no flaw in its design. The being that came from the egg was physically Riku, but in another way it was nothing like the warrior.

Riku jumped back. The being that stood behind him wasn’t just any regular guy. It was him, but it was the monster that he tried so hard to keep controlled. It had now taken a physical entity. Now the Evil Riku stood before him. Nothing more and nothing less, it was the shadow that had been clouding Riku’s mind here of late.

Its gaze was lost at first as it looked around the cave. Then it had caught the existence of Riku who stood in the cavern just as it was. A sinister grin painted its face as he looked at Riku. Its visit was short lived though in the cavern. The Evil Riku soon lifted from the ground and shot off out of the cavern in a full speed.

Riku hesitated not even a second before he shot off behind the creature…

Riku had no idea where the dark was going. He knew though that it was just as fast as he was. What scared him more was that he could sense the creature’s power as well. The Evil Riku was just as strong as he was. This was not going to be good. Riku needed to do away with such a creature and quickly. He knew what the beast was capable of. He had been tortured by its thoughts in his own head for years now. He knew what its move was going to be.

The Evil Riku who seemed to be flying, took a dive. He was right over a village as he dove down to the surface of the planet. He was heading straight for the village below him. That was just the target the creature wanted too. It was there where the beast would begin his chaos. Hopefully it would not end anywhere else. Riku landed one of his jumps, wanting to end this there in the village.

The Evil Riku crashed through two buildings and then stopped before Riku could finally catch up with him. The destruction that had already been delivered frightened Riku as he stood there facing the back of the creature that he had given life to. People laid dead and most of the houses that once stood laid there in waste and debris. The beast stood motionless and emotionless to the actions that he had committed. That alone frightened Riku.

“Hey!!” Riku yelled out trying to capture the attention of the dark.

The Evil Riku turned slowly. “I suppose you are here to stop me…Interesting…I don’t think you can. You are me, Riku…I am what you want and desire…”

Riku smirked. “We shall see…If anything is going to be challenge to me it will be you…”

The two bolted towards each other and clashed. They met punch for punch and kick for kick. The ground around them quaked and jumped as they stood there delivering attacks from one to the other. The cloud that hovered with out a move began to swirl. The sky darkened as they clashed. Sounds of clashing metal crashed and the sounds of the low roar echoed through out the sky. Their swords began to strike the ground and rain slowly started with a hazy drizzle to a heavy pour. It was apparent that this shadow of Riku possessed some kind of elemental skill.

Riku stood there. He was leaned in over the opponent that lay beneath him. The creature was bloodied and beaten. It wasn’t the only one, however. Riku was practically destroyed him self. The clothes that he once wore was ripped, thrashed, and torn. It hardly held on to his body. The cloth dangled from him in pieces and shreds. His body was covered in blood both his and his opponents. Cuts and burns were scattered about him that hurt more then any others that he had been marked with in combat. The worst of the situation was that his left arm was gone. It was taken from a blast the beast had skillfully gotten off on him.

“You have been beaten…” Riku arrogantly smirked.

The Evil Riku lay limp, but not dead. He turned his head, though to face his victor. It took a lot of energy to even perform the simple task that had him pause before speaking. “That’s what you think…” The creature began to chuckle softly. After wards he spat up blood and it spewed from the sides of his mouth. His gaze still lingered on Riku’s eyes. “I…cannot die…I am the evil that…makes up you…”

Riku stopped from the attack he was about to do to end the fools life. He thought on the words. The creature was right. This beast was not a person. It was not a living thing. It could not die…

Riku sighed as he thought there was nothing to be done. He imagined the outcome of such a creature existing. The consequences would be devastating. What could possibly be done?

The answer was simply and quickly came to Riku. He would regret the decision in the future, but that was unknown to him at the moment. He would need to absorb the dark and contain it back with in him self. That was the only solution that he saw to this situation.

Riku leaned in close laughed at what he was about to do. The fate was horrible. He latched onto the beast’s neck sinking his teeth into the creature. The beast slowly began to deflate as Riku sucked everything that was inside of the Evil Riku’s body out. A scream carried through the air more eerie than the laugh that came before it.
