The First Leo Harashiki of The New World Order of Enlightenment
|
Leo had just woken up. He looked around to find out where he was. He didn't recognize the place at once, but then the memories came back to him. He had walked into one of his old friends in Midgar, and he had been invited to spend the night at his place. Aaron, as the old friend called himself now, was becoming a very good cook, and he worked at one of the best restaurants in Sector 6. And that said something. Leo had gotten a taste of the delicious food Aaron made. The dinner they ate last night had been consumed faster than anyone can say 'Cheese Doodles with Noodles and a poodle'. Leo was actually pretty spoiled this day, because he was served a really big breakfast while still trying to wake up from the half awake state you're usually in after having slept for a good while. It was all the fault of the dinner they had eaten last night. It was so big and was eaten so fast that Leo had been a knocked out after 5 minutes. And it took quite a lot to knock Leo out. And now he was going to eat a breakfast that seemed to be quite as large. At least I'm not starving. That's one good thing about this. Leo and Aaron was talking a lot over their breakfast, and they laughed hard every now and then. They were discussing a lot of what had happened since last time thy had seen each other. After they had finished breakfast and had relaxed a bit, Leo figured he would have to go. He couldn't leech off him forever. He decided to take a walk in Sector 6 as Aaron lived there. Leo didn't like the race for the best facade and the best house, thus he wanted to walk the slums instead of above the plate. He managed to find an entrance to the lower part hidden in a corner. They didn't broadcast that there was a slum in Midgar, yet more people actually lived there. Above the plate people usually lived one ore two people in a house or apartment, but in the slums there could be 4 or more people living in the same apartment. It wasn't unusual that 8-9 people slept in the same apartment. But the close conditions also gave the slums the warm atmosphere. Everybody helped everybody. If one of them had done something that angered some authority, the people would stand united against the threat to their comrade. Leo was almost running down the stairs that connected the upper levels with the lower levels. He jumped out from the stairs when they made a turn and managed to grab hold of some pole that protruded from the stairs. It was normally used as a flagpole, but there were no flag there today. Leo didn't actually care about this, and he thew himself back in to the stairs one level lower. He could feel his heart racing and the adrenaline pumping through his veins. He felt so alive when he used his body in this fashion. He loved using paths from A to B that people didn't think about using. But it had to be done in a flowing manner, or he would not attempt it. If he did attempt something that didn't flow well enough, he would go at it again and again, until he had made sure it flowed well. This also helped him becoming better at using flowing movements. When Leo finally reached the end of the stairs he had to sit down on a bench for a while. His head was spinning and his heart was trying its best to pump oxygen to all of his limbs. His heart started to slow down a little after 3-4 minutes, but he still felt the effect of the adrenaline. It made his legs a little wobbly afterwards. Leo didn't like the feeling, but he didn't dislike it either. It was just a little bothersome. When he felt a little better, he leaned backwards, relaxing and looking at the kids playing ball in the street. Once or twice, the kids kicked the ball too hard towards the direction of Leo. The kid that was supposed to catch the ball wasn't able to catch it at those times, but Leo was quick to kick the ball back to the kids. They looked at him in awe when he kicked a ball that was one meter above his head. He had quickly jumped with his legs and then kicked the ball, all while still holding his hands on the bench. Leo quite liked the kids. Maybe they'll be able to live in a better world at one time. But if I were to judge upon Midgar, I would say that we're doomed. Nature has actually been lost in here. Only the parks have some nature left, and Shin-Ra only keeps them to let the kids play. It saves them money, since they don't have to buy or make playground-equipment. But I like the parks, and I wouldn't want them gone for the world. But I still like Kalm a little more than Midgar. Kalm has a big forest close-by. Midgar has only parks. And they aren't as good as a forest. Leo continued sitting on the bench, watching the kids play ball. He was joined by an old man whom also looked at the children. He smiled like he was remembering the time he was like them. It was a happy smile. Leo thought that the old man should have been living in Kalm or some place with fresh air, but he was also glad that the man was there with him. It showed Leo that life was worth living. The happiness of the man seemed to seep into Leo as well and he found himself smiling like never before. If somebody could bottle this feeling, they would get rich...
(OOC: I got a little carried away. You don't need to write as much as I did. I just couldn't stop... I've gotten my kind of super-writing-ability! Maybe I'll get super-duper-writing-ability next time? /OOC) Edited by Takumi, Jan 13 2009, 11:09 AM.
