Hey, is there any way to kill the snake thingy in zolem swamp and make life easier? Or are we going to say that it's an invincible npc?

Probably the latter. If someone could kill it, they probably will.
I can't say anything for sure, though.

We should have Cloud or some staff member say something about it...

We should get like everybody together and just get rid of it :P But then again, there's probably a ton of other snakes that could just take its place... Then we'd have to go kill that...

nevermind >_<

In FF7, the Midgar Zolem is actually pretty weak, you can kill him at level 30, or at least I did because I was to lazy to buy a Chocobo. Problem is that the Midgar Zolem is like a rabbit, a rabbit who asexually reproduces. As such, everytime you kill him he IMMEDIATELY comes back, pretty much at least. So yeah, killing him is possible but he just keeps coming back so nothing would be safer, that and he can freely knock you out of battle as he wills it and when he dies he casts this fucking ownage magic that rapes you.

The Midgar Zolem reproduces from it's remains. Cutting it in half would double the number of Zolems. So a good advice is to leave it alone.

That's why you get a mage to burn the snake and iscentegrate it.

If it were up to me I'd just say it was a swamp indigenous species of snake. But that's just me.

The water is basically alive with the amount of plants and bacteria in it. It wouldn't freeze since it has a constant body temperature.

Now if you had something around 10 K temperature or 0 K (Which is impossible) yeah. It'd freeze.

Hell. Just run out to the center and cast Meteor. That should do something.

Anyway, to answer the original question, I'm fairly certain one will be able to kill the snake. However, until it ends up in the Beastary, I would say it's invincible right now. Also, even if it was killed, it would just come back later for other people.

The snake will always be there.

Even so, unknown forces will prevent the Snakes Death until we progress further in the time-line. Remember that the Snake has to prevent Cloud + Friends from crossing the swamp normally and causes them to be in a shocked state of awe when Sephiroth kills one with ease.

After FFVII, the snake it unimportant. But also by that time we'll all mostly have other means of transport.

The fact Sephiroth killed one and its still in the lake is proof enough that it will always come back, that and even when YOU kill it, it always comes back
