Apocalypse (Lv4)
|
The day was coming close to an end, darkness in the horizon blending with orange and purple. White clouds slowly transcended into black as they moved onto the darkness in the sky. Nothing to disturb them but the sound of helicopter blades spinning at high speeds, wayward to Junon. What the helicopter was going to Junon for was only known to the Shin-Ra employees inside (Those who were not in Junon already and work for Shin-ra). Those inside had received the briefing just before they boarded by a member of the Turks, known as Tseng. He has been giving missions to Soldier units since Director Lazzard mysteriously vanished from Shin-Ra's ranks. It wasn't Tseng's job, but it was something that he was doing temporarily... for now. "Alright! We're approaching the Landing Point!" the Sentry unit flying the Helicopter said aloud to anyone riding with him. "According to the report I can't land this thing down in the village and risk a chance for Avalance to abduct it!" He shouted again, trying to be heard over the spinning blades of the Helicopter. "So, you guys are going to have to jump out when I reach thirty feet!" he shouted again lowering the Helicopter to their jumping point. "GO! GO! GO! GO!" The Sentry unit shouted, giving the command for them to all jump out. The landing point was on top of a building in Upper-Junon. The building had a trap door that led inside, it was the safest place to land Soldier units for the mission. However on top of the building was a man in a business suit. He wore a Shin-Ra employee tag, had short blond hair and seemed rather smug. He suit was black and he had a pocket watch out as if he were keeping the time. He sighed when he noticed all the Shin-Ra employees leap out from the copter and walked towards them in a slow paced manner, as if the mission were not important to him. "I am..." the man hesitated as he looked away from the group. "I am unimportant to your mission. Just know that I am funding it and wish to remain anonymous for now. You are to head to entrance of Lower-Junon where a delivery truck is scheduled to arrive. We have noted several Avalanche hiding points along the entrance of the town and we can only guess they are after the newly discovered Materia that is in that Truck," the man said, shaking his head to himself. His glasses slid from his green-blue eyes. "Your job is to stop them and keep that Materia safe. We landed you here because we discovered Avalanche activity along these parts and could not risk losing a Shin-Ra copter," the mysterious man said as he pushed his glasses up with a single finger. "Now, go. Your job is not to stand here, although it would have probably been better if they sent us a First Class so this job had an absolute success... but this lot might do," the man said as he turned around to head towards the door on the ground that he lifted up to reveal a stair case before saying, "Report back to HQ when the mission is complete." Meanwhile... below Junon in the small village At the entrance of the small village below Junon stood a small group of people in brown uniforms with a single red band around their arms. Each one was equipped with a gun; all had something amiss about them. Their eyes were black and they didn't seem to be holding the gun with intent to use in mind. It also looked like their clothes were dripping with some black liquid that has dyed random blotches of it the dark color. They didn't appear to be normal but seemed to be after something important and not being discreet about it either. Who knew what they'd do when the delivery truck were to enter the small town. Those landed in Junon were quite a ways away from the small village below Junon. They were inside the upper plate of Junon on top of a building. They had to make their way down the building, down the streets and find a way off of the upper Junon plates into the tiny village that Avalanche has taken over. It is unknown if they have taken over the upper plates of Junon either, so their journey to the delivery truck may not be a safe one.

Ikorose, Shinsou

The mission seemed like a simple one, at least because of the lack of information given at the time. Several SOLDIER's, the majority of which were 3rd Class at that, had been gathered on a helicopter heading towards Junon in which they were to guard a truck which was carrying newly discovered Materia. To make matters worse, AVALANCHE, was supposed to be ready to assault the shipment to take the Materia for themselves and Shin-Ra was not about to let that happen, especially to to them. Despite all of these, Kyosuke couldn't help but feel that they neglected to tell him and his fellow SOLDIERS all the details, though they normally did that in SOLDIER anyway. As he looked around the helicopter everyone was flying on, Kyosuke noticed a face that he couldn't have been happier to see. Why it was none other then Dagast, the man who taught him about what it means to be a SOLDIER and also how to fight alot better due to the intense sparing they had. "Hey Dag, its my Kyosuke! I didn't know you were going to be sent on this mission too," the young SOLDIER said as he gleefully smiled and waved to his fellow SOLDIER. Perhaps it wasn't right to be going into a mission with an attitude like Kyo's but he couldn't help it, he was what some call an idiot. "Alright! We're approaching the Landing Point! According to the report I can't land this thing down in the village and risk a chance for Avalanche to abduct it," said a the Sentry who was flying the helicopter. Upon hearing this, instead of paying attention to what the Sentry was saying, Kyosuke thought to himself Wow, I wonder if ill ever be able to learn how to fly a helicopter. It looks so fun!. He wouldn't be able to keep this train of thought though as what he was about to hear next was not something most wanted to hear. "So, you guys are going to have to jump out when I reach thirty feet," the Sentry shouted as he flew closer to the ground. Thats right, they had to jump out of the plane though it really wasn't of any height to kill a SOLDIER. Kyosuke stood next to the entrance of the helicopter, looking down at the jump he would have to make. He had heard that rolling after a fall lessens the impact so his plan was to jump out head first and roll when he hit the ground. "GO! GO! GO! GO!," the Sentry commanded, or yelled rather, as it was time for everyone to get off the helicopter. "Geronimo," Kyosuke shouted as he dived out of the copter like an idiot. As he reached the ground he stuck out his arms and used his hand to propel him into a roll in which when he finished he ended up on one knee. "Tada," Kyosuke shouted as he finished his roll by sticking both arms up into the air like an idiot. Their had been a man on top of the building waiting for them, of which once everyone got off the helicopter Kyosuke went to with the others. "I am, I am unimportant to your mission. Just know that I am funding it and wish to remain anonymous for now. You are to head to entrance of Lower-Junon where a delivery truck is scheduled to arrive. We have noted several Avalanche hiding points along the entrance of the town and we can only guess they are after the newly discovered Materia that is in that Truck," this man said, obviously someone of importance though he wouldn't say who he was, not like Kyosuke expected him to. "Your job is to stop them and keep that Materia safe. We landed you here because we discovered Avalanche activity along these parts and could not risk losing a Shin-Ra copter. Now, go. Your job is not to stand here, although it would have probably been better if they sent us a First Class so this job had an absolute success... but this lot might do," said the mysterious man in a manner that rubbed Kyosuke the wrong way. It was HIM was was putting his life on the line for this guy, not the other way around after all. Not only that, the guy pretty much bluntly said that 3rd Class SOLDIERS were all but useless unless in a group. This mission couldn't be THAT hard could it? "Report back to HQ when the mission is complete," the man then added as he was finally finished with his own briefing of the situation, or so at least Kyosuke thought. Speaking of the mission, Kyosuke had never been to Junon before so he decided he would wait to follow another SOLDIER to the mission area. Someone HAD to know where to go right? Oh well, he would find is way there eventually. |

The White Mage
|
It had been far too long since he was out in the field and going on actual missions. A simple accident during a training exercise back at Headquarters had resulted in a broken elbow. The White Magic specialists had said it was too difficult to simply Cure better all at once, so he had been forced to undergo surgery to wire everything back together, then a series of spells over a week long period to heal what was possible, and then several weeks of rehabilitation after that to get the full range of motion back. And then he had had to take a couple of weeks after that to get back into fighting shape after all of the time spent sitting on his ass and healing. It was frustrating...and Thunder spells would have that extra bit of a sting thanks to the wires and screws in his left elbow...but he would almost definitely make a full recovery. He had regained ninety-nine percent of his range of motion in his arm, which was roughly four percent better than the doctors had predicted. Of course it just so happened that on his first day back to active duty, he had been assigned on a special mission to Junon. He had barely had time to check that Radius was secured to his back before he was hustled into the large black helicopter along with four other SOLDIERs and a pilot. The flight itself did not take long, but with the teen known as Kyosuke rambling on like some sort of hyperactive chipmunk the trip seemed to take much longer than it actually did. Still, Zander refrained from making any snide comments, instead staying silent and focusing on getting himself into his mission mindset. While this Kyosuke seemed to think this mission would be all fun and games, Zander knew otherwise. Five SOLDIERs for a single mission? Even if they were only Third Class, that seemed a little excessive...and yet the higher-ups had ordered it, which meant that this many of them were truly necessary. The helicopter finally came to a halt in its forward momentum and the doors on the side opened. The pilot mentioned the inability to land and the necessity to jump out, and almost immediately Kyosuke had dove out of the open doors like some sort of handicapped lemming. Zander stifled a frustrated sigh and stood up, making his way to the exit in one stride. After a quick glance and calculation, he stepped calmly out of the helicopter and dropped straight down. He landed on the rooftop on bent knees, channeling the force of the impact carefully so as to avoid injury. Tiny cracks spidered in the concrete beneath him, but he paid it no mind as he brushed himself off and approached the man in the suit. Hmm...a Turk, possibly? No...they would probably just handle this themselves if they really wanted to. Then again they could be occupied elsewhere. Bah, it matters not. The briefing was quick and to the point, something Aleczander would have been able to respect were it not for the scorn that was so evident in the man's voice. If he had wanted a First Class so badly, maybe he should have been willing to fund a little more generously...but that was neither here nor there. Zander stepped forward as the door down into the building was revealed, then paused right before going down. He himself was not familiar with Junon, but he did not want to say that in case no one else was either. He would take the leadership role if necessary, but he would prefer to cede that to someone that actually knew the terrain better than a glance at a map years beforehand. Note to self: Study geography.

NOOTCH
|
Michael got a message one day that he needed to report to headquarters immediately. He was excited, and nervous at the same time. Michael wasn't sure what to expect, but didn't think it was gonna be as important as it was. When Michael got there he was told suit up, and be ready for a helicopter to pick him up. Michael did what he was told, and got ready for what was going to be his first big mission. He had a small one here, and there. But never nothing like this. It wasn't long before the copter landed, and Michael got on. When he was on he noticed four other Soldiers on board. He walked in, and sit down ready to be taken where this mission was. Michael didn't know anybody there with him, but all of them looked ready, and able. Michael sit there silently, his heart pounding from excitement. He didn't know what to expect when he got there, but he knew it was going to be fun. He tried not to think of the pending danger that could be waiting for them there. I mean why would they need five Soldiers to do one job? From the looks of it everybody there including him was a third class. He would have really been worried if he had seen a first class there. The flight was long, and quite, and Michael was just starting to settle down a little bit when he heard. "Alright! We're approaching the Landing Point!" Said the pilot. Here we go. Michael thought to himself. "According to the report I can't land this thing down in the village and risk a chance for Avalance to abduct it!" The pilot yelled to everyone. Michael thought for a split second of how the hell they were gonna get there if they couldn't land? "So, you guys are going to have to jump out when I reach thirty feet!" The pilot said, answering Michael's thoughts. Michael quickly started to get really nervous again. How was he gonna jump out from thirty feet in the air? He wasn't sure what a Soldier could take, but he knew that that jump would kill a normal person. But if they were telling them to do it, he trusted that he could. The helicopter lowered them into position, and the pilot ordered. "GO! GO! GO! GO!." With that said Michael waited till two before him jumped, and then it was his turn. He walked up to the door, and looked down which was a big mistake. He took one big breath, and threw himself out of the helicopter. He wasn't sure how to land so he just put his feet in front of him. He hit the ground really hard, and rolled to a stop where surprisingly he was on his feet. "Okay well that was fun." Michael said. When they landed there was a man in a business suit waiting on them. Michael had never seen this guy before either, but he really didn't expect to see anybody he knew on this trip. When they had all landed, the man started to brief them on why they were there, and what they would be doing. "I am... I am unimportant to your mission. Just know that I am funding it and wish to remain anonymous for now. You are to head to entrance of Lower-Junon where a delivery truck is scheduled to arrive. We have noted several Avalanche hiding points along the entrance of the town and we can only guess they are after the newly discovered Materia that is in that Truck, Your job is to stop them and keep that Materia safe. We landed you here because we discovered Avalanche activity along these parts and could not risk losing a Shin-Ra copter," Said the man in the business suit. Michael was now about fifty percent nervous, and about fifty percent excited still. He didn't know his way around here, this was his first trip to Junon. He looked around hoping to see that the others looked like they knew what they were doing. He really hoped at least one of them had been here before, cause this mission did not sound to easy. "Now, go. Your job is not to stand here, although it would have probably been better if they sent us a First Class so this job had an absolute success... but this lot might do." Said the strange man. Michael didn't let it show, but was a little pissed that he would say that. saying that it was win, lose thing with five third class Soldiers, but a sure win with one first class. He never let it show that it annoyed him though, cause Michael knew he was someone important, and Michael had to stay professional. The man turned, and opened up they way for them to go, there was a staircase, but i couldn't see where it went. "Report back to HQ when the mission is complete." The man said. Michael didn't really know where to go, so he stood back hoping someone else would take the lead. Michael was ready to get this started, the only thing holding him back was a human map. |

SOLDIER 3rd Class
|
So far today was a bad one. First, he was almost late for the mission. Second, he had to jump out of a helicopter. Okay, maybe not as bad as some of his other days, but it was still up there. So as they were hovering 30 ft. above a building in Junon, Isame thought of how much he wanted to be on this mission. This mission was sure to raise him higher in the ranks of SOLDIER, or at least make it another step forward on that path. "GO! GO! GO! GO!." "I guess that is my signal." So with that Isame jumped out of the helicopter. He didn't bother to roll when he hit the ground. Instead, when he hit the ground he bent his knees and put his hands to the ground so that the shock from the fall didn't cripple him. Luckily for him, he was a part of SOLDIER, and they were a little bit more...special...than most people. So as he stood up from his crouch, he looked around at everyone else. "So, what is everyone waiting for? Let's go down." So with that he took his first steps down into the building. He didn't know about everyone else, but he certainly didn't want to stay on a rooftop where he had every chance to get shot. What worried him most about this mission was that he had never been to Junon before this. He didn't know his way around here, and that would be his disadvantage. The people that they were most likely going to be fighting against, AVALANCHE, knew this area better than he did. They probably knew all the places to hide, and because of that they would have the home-field advantage. Isame tried not to worry too much about it though. Worrying would only make things worse, and he needed to concentrate on the mission at hand, not worry about things like geography.

lost in thought call search and rescue

Kiku wondered the lower portion of Junon. Jack had asked her to wait for him down there. She did not comprehend why however. Jack had told her to head for a small village near Junon. She did know her way around as she had been in the area several times with her uncle and had spent the first few years of her life in the upper plate of Junon. So Kiku entered the small village and felt a nervous itch run up her spin. Too late she remembered that her wrench was still in the cab of the truck at the Shin-ra depot they made the delivery to a few hours prior. Something was wrong it would not be normal for armed men to be in the village. Plus none of them worked for Shin-ra based on the lack of Shin-ra gear. Kiku tapped her finger to her chin as she watched a pair. That must be it the proto type engine her uncle built was being shipped to the shop soon. These guys must be here to steal it. Kiku slipped out of sight of the two men and opened the back pack she had been wearing. She had planned to show Jack her party outfit but now was the time for serious business. Leather gloves slid into place as Kiku mentally prepared herself for battle. A small black chocker went about her neck. It had been a gift from a business man. Kiku glanced around and certain she was alone her black sports bra came off and a white one quickly replaced it. A white shirt ripped short came on over that. Still certain no one was watching her shop suit came off and tight and decidedly ripped denim shorts came on. Kiku stood up and wished she had her wrench. After flexing her fingers a few times she twisted from one side to the other. Her large breasts bounced about but at least she would not for ever be re tucking them into her gi. Stretching tall Kiku decided she was ready. What she thought she could do against men armed with guns was anyone’s guess at the moment. Then Kiku spotted it an old truck. If it worked she could use it as a battering ram. If it did not well she could use her feminine charms to find out the enemies plans. If they did not plan one capturing the engine then maybe she would just slink away. Still Kiku did not know much about what was going on maybe some constructive eaves dropping would help. With all the stealth she could muster Kiku crept back into earshot of the two she had spotted earlier. Once she felt she was close enough she crouched down and waited to see if she could pick up any details. With a little luck she might be able to find a weakness she could exploit or something. Still she was a mechanic not a soldier if serious fighting broke out survival would have to be her number one goal. With that in mind she waited listening for any scraps of information her entire plan would crumble if they were the silent types.

Riku was once again being hustled around by Shin-Ra to do their dirty work, but it was just as well, as it paid pretty decently for its effort requirements. However, the teen could immediately tell that the mission he was being sent on was not the average delivery quest. No, he was in a helicopter with people who were in SOLDIER and probably even higher than that. It was ironic, seeing as though he himself was only a lowly Sentry unit, but he guessed that they must have had a shortage on troops or something like that. Either way, he was soon sent jumping off and onto a building, where he saw a smiling man waiting. After hearing the guy insult his low rank, Riku walked grudgingly past him and made his way, just following whom he assumed was higher than he was. Looking around, the teen wondered why in the world they had landed on the building, as they would have to spend time to actually go down. In addition to this, it wouldn’t be that hard to notice a helicopter dropping off troops. Maybe it was just that he wasn’t thinking nearly hard enough, but Riku’s mind was telling him that there was too much drama being put into the mission. Well, seeing as though there’s so many top notches around here, I should be kind of grateful to be working with them. That, or scared. Either one works. The very next thing that went through Riku’s mind, was the urge to meet somebody, or at least become familiar with their names. He wasn’t the most social person in the world, but he wanted to get along with… somebody. Shaking off the thought, the teen saw some guy start to walk down the stairs. Not bothering to look and see if anybody else would follow, Riku jogged forwards, “hey, how’s it going,” Riku asked, but he doubted the man would hear him, as the man had already taken several steps down the stairs.

Seal Evil

“A famous author once said; Much that is dreadful and inhuman in history, much that one hardly likes to believe, is mitigated by the reflection that the one who commands and the one who carries out are different people. The former does not behold the sight and does not experience the strong impression on the imagination. The latter obeys a superior and therefore feels no responsibility for the acts.” This much is true in the eye of the beholder. The beholder’s eye belongs to Armand Dagastonovich A.K.A. 3rd Class SOLDIER Dagast. After a few days with his encounter with two newer 3rd Class SOLDIER’s he was given a new mission. This mission was a grand scale scheme and small points about the details of what SHIN-RA plans were illustrated to the MAKO-eyed warrior. He was told that he would be meeting with a chopper at the designated Chopper zone and that the mission would take place in Junon, a city that’s known to be run with lots of SHIN-RA employee’s and the terrorist faction; AVALANCHE. The last moments Dagast remembers before boarding the Chopper were of his own girlfriend Starsha. She seemed distant as of late and unwanting of his company. It aggravated him and at the same time these thoughts raced his mind the Chopper had lowered to the point where he had to dive. He jumped out with only his Gunblade and himself. He had no other skill besides his natural talent and experience in his other missions. Upon landing he along with several others meet a man who tells them about their mission. After the briefing the SOLDIERs were waiting for something. Dagast stepped forward and tried to get everyone’s attention with clearing his throat in a coughing fashion. “A good order would be to introduce ourselves to one another. For those who don’t know me..’ Dagast looks around and spots Kyo and waves. “I’m Armand Dagastonovich… just call me Dagast..”

Apocalypse (Lv4)

"Hey! Just want do you think you're doing in our village anyway?" an old man asked, approaching the two men at the entrance of the town. They seemed to be rather distracted and ignored the older man. Their minds were entirely set on watching the truck that is heading their way. "Ahhh...." one of the men dripping in a black liquid hissed as he spread his legs to shoulder-length. "Don't ignore me you young--" the old man was cut off by gun fire. The AVALANCHE member that hissed a moment ago aimed his automatic gun at the older man and opened fire on him. "--Whipper... sn..." the old man gasped as he fell to the ground in a pool of his own blood. "Grandpa!!" A girl shouted as the town went into a riot, everyone running into their homes, locking the doors as if it would help them in any way. The girl was picked up by her mother as they fled into their home, locking the door and closing all the windows. "Do not harm civilians, it will give away your position..." a voice called out from a small speaker on the shoulder of the two AVALANCHE members at the entrance. The one who opened fire simply hissed as he let his gun hang off his side from the holster. "Get into position, the truck is only a few seconds from arrival point," the same voice called again. With that said the two AVALANCHE soldiers hide behind a few structures near the gate. another member appeared on top of a roof near the giant elevator that leads to upper-Junon. There were only three in plain sight. Meanwhile... Ring... Ring... Ring... Ring... The sound of Dagast's phone rang waiting to be answered. If picked up the voice of Tseng would be on the other side saying, "Hurry down the stairs from the roof. Civilians have been fired upon by the AVALANCHE units and the truck is seconds away from being attacked. You have less than two minutes to get there before they steal the materia." Tseng hung up after that, giving the information he needed to give to them. They needed to run down the stairway revealed by the anonymous man in the suit, out of the three story building, down the street and down the elevator that leads to lower-Junon. Their stalling may have caused their downfall in this missioin. Every unit that was dispatched waited for another to act, none took leadership qualities thus none of them showed any signs of being Second or First Class Soldiers.

Kiku waited until she heard the voice of an elderly man. She left her hiding place to see what was going on. When one of the armed men shot the old timer Kiku stared in horror. These were not normal people to just kill like that. The sound of a young girl’s voice snapped her back to reality the civilians were clearing out and she had to move as well. Kiku made a run for the old truck hoping that it would be useful here. She did not know what she might do if it was dead. Kiku picked up a heavy rock that was flat on one side. Kiku pulled open the door her heart sinking nobody leaves the keys in a truck with the doors open. She tapped the gauge that displayed it had half a tank left and pulled herself into the seat. Turning the keys made an eerie sound as the engine fired up. Kiku turned the wheel so that it would not plow into a building. Kiku put it in gear and with a quick look to see where the nearest villains were swallowed hard. Kiku being far more familiar with working in a machine shop changing tires then combat was well out of her league. Something however calmed her as she dropped the rock on the gas. Even if everything went badly the gun fire would have been heard by some kind of police force and back up would come eventually. Throwing caution to the wind Kiku dove out of the truck as it started forward. Kiku then scurried to find a place to watch while remaining at least partially undetected. The only weapon she had was her fists which meant she was in a bit of trouble. She could not seek refuge from the civilians as it would endanger them. She could not just run because it would mean the villagers and what she hoped was her uncle’s engine would be without defense. Still Kiku was not a trained soldier or a trained fighter. So she would have to do the best she could with what she had. |

Jack sat in the copter waiting for his time to go out into the mission area. The young SOLDIER laid back his head as he thought about what brought him to this point of his life. This was his first real mission for Shinra. All the training, the injections, everything he has done over the last few months all came down to this. His only hope was that he would perform well enough to be noted, or at least get some kind of reward for his work. Finally his father would quit complaining about how Jack never does anything. The white haired boy gets lost in thought as he continually juggles an ice material in his hands. ‘How dangerous will this mission be?’ , will some of my friends die in this mission?’, ‘Will I have to kill people?’. Thoughts like this raced through his head as the helicopter got closer and closer to Junon. The helichopter stopped and the pilot began to descend. The man said they had to jump out of the helicopter once he reached 30 feet. That was not Jack’s favorite thing to do, but he was getting paid for it so it worked. Jack absorbed the ice materia back into his arm through his hand so that it was back in place in his right arm. Jack cracked his neck and waited for the signal. The others in the group were also waiting in their own ways, but this did not concern Jack. After a minute or two the helicopter was in position and the signal was given. The army of Sentries and third Class SOLDIERs rushed out, one by one jumping down onto the building below. When Jack jumped out of the helicopter it was not in any fancy way, he jumped following the others, his black coat flapping in the wind behind him. As he jumped there was a man waiting for Jack and the Shinra employees. The man was in a business suit, like the Turks. He walked over to them slowly and without energy. He gave the group the general mission idea, saying that there is a delivery of newly discovered materia that is being transported from Lower Junon. We are to get to the truck and protect the shipment from AVALANCHE members. As the man moved he revealed a staircase and hinted that the Shinra employees were to go down it. The others appeared to be waiting for something except for one or two. The man from the gym stepped up in front of the others. By this time Jack, who had been the last one out of the helicopter, was already walking towards the staircase. The Man introduced himself as Dagast. Jack calmly walked past him not stopping for even a moment, ignoring everything else he said while saying , “Good for you, I’ll act like I care. Now shut the fuck up and get down the stairs before you dumb asses lose the shipment. We don’t have time to just fuck around” As Jack entered the staircase he increased his pace.

Kyosuke began to grow impatient, he had originally waited when he got off the helicopter for someone to leads HIM to the objective point but it seemed clear to him that it wasn't going to happen anytime soon as everyone was just lallygagging around. The man who had re-briefed them when they had arrived had already shown the SOLDIER's, and Sentry, where they were supposed to exit the building from so he began to head towards the exit himself hoping the others would follow, or not since he never really thought. SOLDIER were paid to do, not think afterall. Suddenly, as he was walking to the door, a cellphone began to ring and it was a ring that was very familiar to Kyosuke. It was Dagast's phone and in all the time Kyo had known Dag, no matter how short it was, his phone ONLY rang when it was a call from Shin-Ra. Using this basic logic, be it true or false, Kyosuke deducted that the call HAD to be from Shin-Ra because Dagast has no social life outside of SOLDIER, or so he thought not that he was any different. "Dag, your phone is ringing? There must me something wrong with the mission!," the idiot yelled as he made a mad dash for the exist of the roof, pushing past several other operatives. "Everyone, hurry up! We need to get to the truck fast!," he then said as opened up the entrance and jumped on in. Continuing his mad dash, Kyosuke went down the stairs as fast as he could. There was no telling if anyone would follow him or if he had been correct in his deduction or heck, even if he was really going the right way since he didn't wait up to check. Running as fast as he could, it took him about one minute to get down to the very bottom of the building and outside. Close to him was an elevator and without checking to see if that's where he needed to go to get to the truck, he ran over and started pressing the down button as fast as he could. "Come on elevator! Daddy needs a new pair of shoes...err...Materia...fuck it, I need to get to the truck so hurry up!," he said to the elevator as if he had somehow expected it would respond back to him. |

As more and more people approached, some standing around doing nothing and others simply passing him to make their way down the stairs, Zander could almost swear his teeth were cracking from how hard he was grinding them. No one seemed to want to take up any sort of leadership role, which was frustrating. He himself was not innocent in that regard either, but at least he had an actual reasoning behind his decision as opposed to just sheer laziness. Two were already making their way down the stairs when the man who had just introduced himself as Dagast began to emit a polyphonic jingle. Kyosuke, the hyperactive little idiot from before, immediately made an assumption and rushed toward the stairs. Zander took a small step back to avoid being bumped into as the younger man scurried down the stairs, brushing past the two that had already begun to descend in the process. "...alright, listen up. Kyosuke has, predictably, gone off half-cocked and rushed ahead of the group. Whether or not his assumption itself is correct is irrelevant, because his intents are valid. We need to descend down below the Plate as quickly as possible to avoid this mission ending in complete failure and embarrassment for all of us and Shin-ra." His posture was straight and his tone was serious. If no one else wanted to take responsibility here, then he would have to. "Half of us are already on our way down, so the rest of us need to go and catch up. Follow me, we will talk while we run." With that, Zander turned and began to descend the long and spiraling staircase. He could spot Kyosuke outside of the building when he peeked out a passing window, with the first two that had begun to descend about halfway down the stairs and the one that had insulted Dagast only about a floor below them when he peered over the railing. He spoke in a loud and clear voice, so as to be heard without having to turn around. It was also necessary to speak up a bit in order to be heard over the repetitive sounds of boots slapping against concrete stairs. "It would appear that there is an elevator that will take us down to the villages below the Junon Plate. By the time we get down there, the hijacking will likely already be in progress, so finding our targets will not be too difficult. Once we are all together and descending in the elevator, we will take stock of weaponry, fighting styles, and equipped Materia. From there, we will draw up a rough battle plan." By the time his speech had concluded, Aleczander had reached the bottom of the stairs and burst out of a side door into the sunlight. His boots thumped loudly against the pavement as he raced across the street to Kyosuke. Luckily the elevator had not yet arrived, which meant they would all be able to descend as a group. Little league was over with...it was time to step up and do what they had been trained to do. |

SOLDIER 3rd Class

Crap, that can't be good...Isame started to run down the stairs, jumping down in some places. They had no time to waste and personally, Isame didn't want to fail this mission because he couldn't get down some stupid stairs in time. He burst out of the door of the building a little bit later and ran towards the elevator that would take him and his teammates with him to the objective site. There was already one of his teammates waiting at the door of the elevator. So he stood there and waited along with him. A few seconds later the doors opened wide. There was room for all of the team in that elevator, so he quickly got inside and stood next to the control panel. He then looked at the guy who had been waiting with him. "You might as well get in here while we wait for the others to get here. It wouldn't be a good idea to go ahead without any support or plan for that matter." As he waited for the others he made sure that the doors didn't close by putting his foot in the way of them closing. As he stood there he thought up some plans of action. The best one he could think of was having the people that had long-range weapons and spells distract their enemies while the close-combat people like Isame went in to protect the truck as best they could. "Hmm...I think that would work...But it depends on how many people use ranged weaponry..." Of course, he spoke to himself out loud. He sometimes did this when he wasn't sure of most of the variables in the situation. And since he knew next to nothing about the people he was working with, it made it even worse. |

Riku had been keeping pace with the person who had still not responded to his rushed introduction. He was actually about to try up again at conversation, but he heard a clattering sound from above. Instantly turning into hunting mode, the teen set his hands on his keyblade hilts and prepared for mortal combat. However, to much disappointment and amusement, it turned out to be somebody who was overly anxious to getting down below. Riku wasn’t in particularly sure what the reason for this was, but decided that if something had made that guy get so worked up, it was probably worth checking out. Maybe something went wrong down there. But then again, why isn’t anybody else running like crazy? Whatever, I’m just going to wing it. Right before he took off running like an idiot, the teen stopped as he heard some more footsteps from above. Hmm, it seems as though they’ve decided to get going after all. Well, better get going myself! And at that, Riku took off at full speed, taking the stairs four at a time. He paid no attention to anybody that he might have passed, only the fact that he was wanting to actually get something done clouded his mind. This mentality continued on for several intense minutes, before Riku got bored with the scenery and decided that he’d better not blow off all of his energy on getting to his destination. Pretty soon, Riku had finally gotten out of the building, and could at long last see the sky above. However, he didn’t have much time to look at the scenery, as he decided to quickly use his Libra Materia to see if anybody godly powerful was around. After a couple brief moments of concentration, the teen came to the decision that there were some really strong people nearby. He was about to start checking everybody out to see how strong they were, but decided to wait until he at least got to mission point. I guess I’ll just wait for whoever still needs to get here. I’m not going to be much use if I’m too exhausted to even walk. Riku sat down in front of the elevator, waiting for everybody to catch up. Oh god, I hope I don't seem like a slacker... |

Ring... Ring... Ring... Ring... "Hurry down the stairs from the roof. Civilians have been fired upon by the AVALANCHE units and the truck is seconds away from being attacked. You have less than two minutes to get there before they steal the materia." The voice rang out to Dagast ears as he nodded and replied with a simple dialect, ‘Rodge…’. He turned as most of the SOLDIERs were bustling with movement. One SOLDIER who he met from the gym spoke to him with harsh words. He didn’t know if they were meant to anger him but he couldn’t let the guy annoy him to jeopardize the mission at hand. He turned oto see Kyo and the others head down the staircase. Dagast would speak to everyone when they got towards the elevator doors. Dagast was last to enter the elevator. He looked over all and grabbed a hold of his guard as he glanced over all again with his eyes. “I have no materia on hand and I use a prototype Gunblade. Others who have met with me know that to best describe my features and style… as a brick wall. Sturdy from top to bottom and hard to break…” He looked over and rose an eyebrow at Jack. He looked him up and down and shook his head. He thought to himself as he stared him down waiting for the others to tell their parts. ‘He’s gonna be taught a good lesson later… again.’ |

Michael was walking slowly to the stair case hoping someone would get in front, and lead the way. But that wasn't happening, everybody was just kind of standing around. Finally he saw one his teammates already walking down, so he followed behind him. It wasn't no time before he heard a ringing, and one of them went crazy, and ran ahead of everybody. Michael thought about running with him but, didn't know what he was doing. After that someone gave a speech about how they had to get to the truck a.s.a.p. Michael fully agreed, and started almost running down the stairs. Taking three, or four steps at a time. He had a huge burst of energy, his heart was pounding from pure adrenalin. When he got down the steps he was very close to the Soldier who had made the speech. He tried to stay close cause that guy seemed to know right where to go. They met up with the first guy who took off running, who was now cursing out an elevator. when Michael got to the Elevator he stopped, and looked back waiting on everyone to regroup. "Okay, I'm thinking when we get to the bottom, and get off this elevator, all hell is going to break loose. So we need to be ready." Michael said, pulling out his weapon. Now all to do was wait for the elevator. |

"Ehh...?" one of the members of AVALANCHE hissed to himself as he turned to see a truck being driven straight towards him. "AGH!!" he grunted out as his gun let out a, "rat-tat-tat-tat" sound as it fired into the air. The truck knocked the man off of his feet, onto the ground before the pathway of the still moving vehicle. "EH!?" the other AVALANCHE member standing at the entrance grunted as it began to fire it's gun at the truck while charging at it. "What's going on?" a voice called from the small radio on the AVALANCHE member who is now laying beneath the truck. "Damnit! Take out any civilians who resist, we can't risk any losses here," the same voice called again on the small radio the sniper's shoulders. The sniper on the roof simply hissed to himself as he pulled out his gun to aim at the person in the truck. Alone, she didn't have much chance to win against these three AVALANCHE members. The delivery truck pulled into the town, stopping at the sight of a man in uniform firing at a poor girl in a beat-down truck. The man driving put the truck on park before getting out of the truck shouting, "Hey!! What do you think you... no, you're AVALANCHE!!" the man shouted with his eyes widened. Meanwhile... The elevator pulled up, the doors opening for all those in wait. Although the open doors only greeted the members of Soldier with an open fire of machine guns from two AVALANCHE soldiers. The rat-tat-tat-tat sounds of their automatic weapons filled the air as the stepped to the entrance of the elevator firing at everyone in sight. They would only get one round of bullets out before they had to begin reloading their weapons. Their hair was long and black, stopping just past their back shaped like they were made of a solid mass rather than several strands of hair. Their eyes, skin and finger-nails were all black as well; their body oozing with a strange black liquid that seeped through their brown AVALANCHE uniform. Both members let out a load roar before they picked their guns up again readying to fire at those who were waiting for the elevator.

It seemed that most of them had finally made their way out of the building and over to the elevator, which still had yet to arrive. A few of them had seemed rather eager, seemingly wishing to hop through the thick metal doors and into the shaft before the car had even arrived, but common sense prevailed, amazingly enough. One of their number seemed to be taking his time and moving at leisure, an action that prompted a firm frown to take form on Zander's lips. It was unprofessional at best, downright deadly at worst. In either case, it would need to be reported to a superior officer when the mission had concluded. Aleczander was preparing to run a check of everyone's weaponry and Materia when the elevator arrived. The Third Class SOLDIER took a step back out of instinct and politeness in case there was someone already within that was prepared to exit. In retrospect, that small shuffle backward might have saved his life. The doors slid open as if in slow motion, revealing two men in brown uniforms carrying what looked to be machine guns. They opened fire nearly simultaneously, arms moving the guns from side to side as they unleashed a spray of bullets. Zander's body twitched and he stumbled back a few steps as three bullets slammed into his chest. Pain radiated outward from the points of impact as the projectiles tore through his clothing, slowing quite a bit as they hammered through his Body Armor and finally ending by embedding into the uppermost layers of flesh and muscle in his pectoral muscles. He would have some scarring and a little bit of bleeding, but the wounds as they were were not lethal. Yet. Zander tried to ignore the pain as his right arm came up and pulled Radius off of his back. He twirled the weapon once and then leaped forward, attempting to catch the two enemies off-guard as they reloaded their weapons. The pain in his chest was fresh, but the surge of adrenaline accompanying the combat situation quickly released endorphins to dull the sensations. His blue-green eyes flickered to his comrades, seemingly all of whom had been hit by the hail of bullets as well. A preemptive attack, one executed with precision at a key time. What was the point of coming in with the helicopter and wasting time if they were just going to be gunned down before they could even get below the Plate? "Take them down, men!" With that said, he sped up to his maximum in an effort to reach his target before the man could fully reload. The blade of the naginata glimmered faintly in the daylight as Zander approached the enemy to his left and swung his own weapon at his opponent's gun in an attempt to disarm the other man. If that action failed, it would be a simple matter for Zander to twist his wrists and jab the blade of his weapon toward the man's throat instead. The latter of the two would undoubtedly be more messy though, something that caused the inordinately neat man to cringe on the inside. Just a little.

Jack waited for the elevator. He was in front of everyone. The other SOLDIERs were preparing their weapons. Jack, on the other hand, just stood there for he had no weapon to ready. All he needed was his fists. He cracked his knuckles waiting for the elevator to bring them to their destination. The doors opened to a hail of gunfire. Many were injured; some managed to jump out of the way. Jack was hit by three bullets before he could get out of the way. His body helped absorb allot of the damage, but still knocked him back. Jack was very bloodied up by the bullets, but does not let that get him down. He hid beside the elevator where he would not take any more damage from the barrage of bullets; this was not from fear, but simply a strategy to not get hit. Jack calmly waited outside of the elevator, hidden from the shooters. Jack’s left arm started to glow green, looked as though he was going to heal his wounds using Cure. Jack then looked around and noted how few of the others even had materia, may as well a cure materia. Though jack as not in the best of shape he still was not all that bad off. He decided to save his energy for those in need. Though he would rather be charging in full force with Blizzard and punches ; he knew that he could be more useful casting Cure on those in need. “Ok people!” Jack says to those outside the elevator, assuming they can hear him over the gun fire. “I have a Restore materia, so I’ll stay back and heal while the rest of you do your thing. Just shout out ‘Jack’ or ‘heal me’ or even ‘heal me you dumb ass’ if I don’t see you. I normally only get eight shots out of it so don’t just shout it out for any little ol’ boo boo, got it?” Edited by Sarge, Jan 31 2009, 08:26 AM.

Riku had just gotten up off of the floor, when the elevator doors slid open. The teen had barely enough time to side step out of the way to avoid getting hit by a multitude of bullets. By some miracle, he was not hit by anything, but the thuds he heard from around him suggested that others were not as lucky as he. Looking around, Riku saw a man in particular (Zander) who seemed to have been hit by three bullets. Instead of dropping to the ground, he had pulled out a weapon to which he used to try attacking one of the assailants. Oh right! I should help! Trying to ignore the fact that Riku had wasted a ton of time just staring at the various people who had gotten shot, he decided to take some kind of action. There were only two terrorists, and there were a ton more of them. Feeling a bit nervous at the fact that he was about to actually do something useful, the teen blasted forwards and spun around in the air while utilizing his Assault Twister Materia. If all went well, the teen would hit his target with four deadly blows which had been known to kill instantly. If he was successful in hitting his target, and only if the target was maimed past recovery, Riku would turn around and start healing people.

Kiku felt the truck bounce as it hit something. The gun fire was unnerving when the man fell beneath the truck. Then more gun fire at first Kiku thought it might be the guy under the truck but then bullets ripped through the truck door. One bullet pierced her left leg and traveled out at an upward angle. The second bullet that ripped through the door buried itself in her side. Kiku doubled over in pain as a third bullet crashed through the window and punched a hole in the other one. With a shaky hand Kiku checked the back of her head. The small clump of hair that came away had her seeing red. Kiku being more then a little vain like her hair. While she could get oil, grease and other things in her hair at work this was a wholly new situation for her. The pain in her leg and side was making her light headed. So she quickly crawled to the other side of the truck and threw herself through the door. As she hit the ground her leg buckled slightly from the pain and Kiku hobbled away from the truck and towards what looked like a delivery truck. If luck held then he would be able to offer her some safety. If her luck did not hold then Kiku was going to have a very bad day. Throwing herself to the ground partially because of the pain from walking and partially from fear she was being followed Kiku took stock of her situation. There were armed gunmen in this village and they were not friendly. There was a truck coming through that was delivering something to Junon at the very least. She was hurt by stray bullets and her hair had been damaged. She clenched her fist at the thought of how long it had taken to fix her hair that morning. Her only real hope was that very soon reinforcements would arrive from Junon. If they did not then Kiku was going to have to try and figure out something on her own.

Michael was standing up against the wall next to the elevator waiting for it to come down. He caught his breath, and looked around as saw most everyone from the helicopter was there with him. When the elevator got there, he would get ready for what was to come. Cause when they reach where the elevator is gonna take them, he will have to be ready right when the doors open. Michael heard the elevator door about to open, so he got ready to get on. When the doors opened Michael heard what sounded like a loud explosion, and saw bullets flying out of the elevator. Luckily he was not in front of the door, but one man was. He didn't know his name, but he remembered seeing him on the helicopter. He got shot at least three times right after the doors opened. Michael quickly grabbed his weapon, Maul. He wasn't gonna wait for anyone else to get shot. When he heard the gun fire stop, he assumed they were out of bullets. And before they could reload, Michael came around the corner blades in hand. When he went around the corner, he saw two guys with guns in the elevator. He tried to hit the closest one to him, and hopefully catch him off guard, and maybe knock the gun out of his hands. |
