Okay we all know about the law of conservation of energy: no energy can be created or destroyed, it can only change form. and we all know that while Zombies devour human flesh, they don't need it to survive. they can go months, and walk thousands of miles without eating anyone. Well any movement of your body is just a transfer of chemical energy to kinetic energy. Taking all that into consideration doesn't something sound fishy? |

If you want to be all technical, yes. But this is fiction. It isn't supposed to make sense, ya know. In reality, Zombies shouldn't be able to go on for any longer than a human without eating something. |

The fact remains though that they do consume flesh, and that they do not evacuate any waste...meaning they must, therefore, use every bit of energy contained within the 'food' that they eat. It can therefore be assumed that zombies have a hyper-efficient digestive system, wherein they break down their meal entirely and then use the bare minimum of energy necessary for every task. In this way, they can make the energy gained from a single meal last until their next one. |

Don't zombies also eat other zombies too? Maybe they have Satan powered batteries hidden inside of them somewhere too. |

Zombies probably digest themselves, thus why when you become a Zombie your body rapidly starts decomposing. Eating flesh probably just slows that decomposition down. |

Ahahah! Solar powered Zombies. They probably eat more than just human flesh whilst shambling about. A small rabbit for lunch... maybe a deer for dinner. |

Energy can also be transferred from one object to another. So maybe the Zombies feast on human flesh, and draw the energy it takes them to walk around and stuff from the groud, plants, or something. Though one could argue the undead don't need energy. >_> They could also just eat for the taste, plenty of people do. |
