Angeles stopped running as she watched the dragon fall into a wall of flames. She sighed and shook her head, running as quickly as she could into the flames and wrenching her sword from the dragon’s head. She shielded her face in her sleeve as she ran out the other side of the fire and gasping for air. She turned around with her sword at the ready, in case the thing decided to stand up and continue fighting despite its burning state of being. However it did not, dissolving into green streams resembling the lifestream and Angeles fell into a sitting position, stabbing her sword into the ground. Finally it was over. Even as the people celebrated she had to wonder why the dragon had turned on the town in the first place. What had provoked it to attack? She shook her head and ran a hand through her hair, before looking up and around at the remaining fighters. Only one of them had been lost. It was a small defeat within the victory, but Angeles did not know who he was, so did not trouble herself with it too much. She looked around for the feline woman for a bit but couldn't seem to find her. When she was offered one of the orbs that had come from the dragon she accepted and stood up with a heavy sigh, sheathing her blade on her back and turning to walk silently back towards Kalm. She needed to rest and recover. ((I choose green material 2 I suppose)) Edited by Angeles, Feb 19 2009, 03:34 PM.

Doesn't particularly like the Art of Fighting, but definitely wants to be the King of Fighters.

For all the work that was done, it was enough. Enough to stall the dragon so that the townspeople had the time to set a trap. Enough that the dragon was weakened enough that the trap was able to finish it off. "Now that...was close." Chris said, then looked at his inventory, "And I still have a potion left for later." Chris looked at what was left behind. From what it looked like, a few Materia were left behind by the dragon, and the villagers were offering them to Chris and some of the others as a reward. "Hmm...Probably the elements the dragon used." Chris thought to himself, "Not much of a reward for the kind of work this was, but it might be a bit rude to ask for financial compensation along with it. Should I ask for money?" Chris picked one of the Materia at random, then decided to attempt such a negotiation, by saying to the residents, "Normally, for a task this big, I'd ask for financial compensation greater in value than a single Materia. However, I'll leave it up to you to decide whether I actually earned anything more than this.

MOOGLE AWWWWAAAAYYYY!!!
|
As Nex was unleashing his assault of valiant awesomeness onto the wooden dragon, it walked into a bunch of fire, and then, died. Well, it was good to have it finally dead at least. The Moogle floated down to the ground and then saw a small little green orb on the ground. One of the native Kalm men picked it up and offered it to the smoking Moogle. The furry rabbit like creature grinned, and then slowly walked over to the man and grasped the materia. He let out a long sigh of relief. The town of Kalm had been saved. All in the day’s work of a valiant Moogle Mage. “Thank you, Kalm residents,” He said softly, not to the actual people of Kalm, but quietly and inwardly to himself. He glanced up at the sun, which seemed to be shining brightly. The day was still good. Perhaps Nex would stroll into Kalm town for a snack and rest. Perhaps. Until then, he was curious in finding out just who had created this dragon, and who wanted Kalm town to be destroyed so badly. Maybe it was something that Nex had no business in, but he was still curious. He was a Moogle, after all. (Materia 2) |

"DYNAMIC ENTRY!!!!!" The sun glinted on a sole figure as it jumped from the wall of Kalm out into the battlefield. He twisted and somersaulted through the air as the sun glinted off his shadow concealed body. Then, in one amazing moment, the man slammed into the ground, slamming his fist into the earth and making the dirt burst up around him, sending debris flying everywhere. With that, he looked up slightly, revealing his blindfolded eyes and hardened face. "I'm here," Baka said solemnly. "And I'm ready to rumble..." However, nobody heard him over the roaring of the fire that now consumed the dragon of earth and plant. A sweat drop fell from Baka's forehead and he let out a sigh. He could hear the burning and he could smell the smoke. The cheers of the townsfolk went on unhindered, cheering screams of joy for their saviors. Then again, Baka had come to save them from the dragon, and that is what he was going to do... for Shin-Ra.. "WOAH!!!!" Baka yelled as he sprinted towards the burning creature. He cleared the distance in half a minute and jumped into the air, only to slam into the side of the creature with a mighty kick. Unfortunately, he bounced off the hardening wood flesh harmlessly and fell to the earth. With that, Baka wiped the dirt from his uniform and the sweat from his brow before turning and striding back towards Kalm. Today had been a good victory. |

As he hit the dragon with his second limit break, he felt energy filling him as it cut into him, healing him of some of the damage he had taken, bruises on his face and neck fading a bit, some of the pain and soreness from being tossed about like a sack of marbles fading as well as he stood there. He wwas still quite tired and somewhat injured. So as the others continued fighting the dragon, two of them being healed, he was forced to lean with the tip of his sword in the ground, leaning over it and breathing hard, feeling a pain in his chest with every breath still as if he had fractured a rib. After a few moments he picked up his sword again, seeing the others that had been healed once more attacking the beast, and prepared to do so himself. Just as he was gathering to launch himself at the beast again, his sword being brought upa and his body leaning slightly forward as knees bent, he saw the fire it was heading toward, the village men having set it. He thought it a good idea, and was about to shift his attack to herd the dragon toward it. Before he could even do that though, the obviously heavily worn down and injured wooden behemoth wandered into it, and suddenly went up in flames itself. He watched as the flames roared through it, consuming the wooden monster as he breathed hard, and looked around slowly. As the colored light shot from the dragon, it washed over him and he shuddered a bit, but ignored it, instead slinking into the shadows as everyone was pre-occupied with the dragon's death. He leaned back in his original place in the shadows, watching the crowd and the other fighters from them, hopefully not being noticed. |

Nex identified the Materia he had attained as the Earth one, and then placed it inside of his pockets. He glanced up at the sun, and then grinned. There was no point in hanging around trying to find the beast. He turned, but a Kalm villager ran up to him and gave him a sack full of 300 gil. The Moogle thanked the man, and then continued to fly. If the Moogle felt like it, he might come back to Kalm for a vacation, maybe chill in one of their garbage cans. Until then, the Moogle would deal with his life as it was. He turned after flying for a bit, still seeing the bright sun shining down on the happy town. At least there was one good place on earth. At least there were people to defend it, too. |

As it turned out, the villagers deemed him worthy of a few hundred extra Gil along with the Materia. "Thank you. If you see me around here and need some help with something, don't hesitate to ask me." Chris said before heading back home. On the way back, Chris stopped by the location of the tree that had enveloped the masked man that was with them in the battle. It was still there, still standing, even though the dragon had fallen. Chris looked at the tree for a second, then gave it a whack with his spear. The tree didn't seem to be marked at all by the strike. "That's pretty darn tough." Chris said to himself, "I'm pretty sure that only a master would be able to cut this down." Chris then headed back home, now with a new sense of confidence gained by the recent battle, and the new, and likely very lofty goal that he had set for himself. This battle was only the beginning of him making a name for himself. Some day, he could be able to make the statement that one does not need to be a SOLDIER to be a hero. |
