100/10 = 10, 100/20 = 5. Don't you mean it should be Materia AP/5 or something Kurisu? Maybe I'm not understanding. |

Maybe, but this is more towards Stilz filling it up instead of Nex. Besides Stilz doesn't know Nex yet, and there's no garuntee that Stilz will join up with the Moogle Squad. The Electrical Energy Converter is mainly to be used for specialized weapons that use Materia, and won't nessesarily be hooked up to the Materia Engine or a MP Storage unit. But if you still think that AP/10 is too high, I'll up the ante on both units. So the Materia Engine will be AP/50 and the Electrical Energy Converter will be AP/20. The Materia Engine will have to be higher, mainly because it has several functions besides providing electricity. I mean, half the energy is used to power the electricity and the other half is used to power the Materia. And Kurisu is meaning that a Lightning Materia only needs to have 200AP to fully power the Materia Engine. And the Electrical Energy Converter can fill up the smallest MP Storage with little difficulty. He's saying that the AP conversion is too low, and needs to be bumped up a bit to that it takes more AP to convert energy into MP. Edited by Seenter, Jun 9 2009, 11:27 PM.

I'm not too fussed about that considering we have some Engines powered by Water. Fuel isn't a rich commodity in this world. So, I'm fairly fine how it is :) 1/2 approval. Edited by Kenny, Jun 10 2009, 03:47 AM.

Pending Abilities Name: Charge Shot Description: Stilz can focus his energy into the chamber of his Caster Gun, effectively doubling the power behind the magic shots. These enhanced bullets require some time to charge, as such Stilz can only fire one at a time. However the damage done by each shot is double that of normal, and at times break through an enemy's protective armor. Requirements: Caster Gun; 50 Casting Effect: Doubles the effect of any magic bullet. Requires half the post to charge. Cost: Double the cost of the bullet being fired. Name: Multiple Shot Description: Stilz practiced focusing his energy into the chamber of his Caster Gun so much, that he can charge two or more chambers at once without wasting time. This allows him to fire the shots in rapid succession, without having to wait for twice as long or more to charge his gun. It's most useful when needing to spread the attack against multiple enemies. Requirements: Charge Shot; Caster Gun; 100 Casting Effect: Doubles the effect of as many magic bullets as the Caster Gun can hold. Requires half the post to charge. Cost: Double the cost of the bullets being fired. Name: Calculating Mind Description: You have spent so much time around creatures and computers, that you can actually calculate the creature's movements and actions. This has given you a leg up in battle, allowing you to predict where a creature will be and how/when it will attack. It takes some time for you to actually perform the calculations, but once you have a perfect understanding on the creature's movements you are rarely defeated. Requirements: Intelligence 50 Effect: Provides a bonus of 20% of your intelligence to your accuracy and dodge for every post you 'calculate' your opponent. Must spend the entire post calculating for it to work. Maximum is 100%. Cost: None Pending Techniques Name: Flare Storm Shot Description: Stilz places a fire and an aero Materia in the two chambers of a Caster Gun v2 or higher. He then focuses his energy into both chambers, charging them up both at the same time and storing the energy. He can then fire the magic simultaneously, causing them to mix together as soon as they emerge from the chambers. The result is a flaming wind tunnel that quickly surrounds the target, causing damage and preventing them from moving for a short time. Requirements: Multiple Shot; Caster Gun v2 or higher; Fire Materia; Aero Materia Effect: Deals fire/wind damage equal to a Fire/Aero spell and stuns for one post, Fira/Aeroa damage and stuns for one post, Firaga/Aeroaga damage and stuns for one post. Cost: MP of both spells Pending Items Name: Caster Shell Description: Using the principle designs behind the MP Storage, Stilz has developed a much smaller version that can be fit into a gun like a bullet. These shell like devices are made of an iron material on the outside, but like the MP Storage they are hollow with the strange markings along the inside. The end holds a special tip that's made of a crystal like substance that acts like the detonator, or explosive head like a missile. This shell can house one magic spell put into it, which then changes the attributes of the projectile. Once the shell is used, it is used for good. Requirements: Magic 50; Casting 50; Machine Operation 50 Effect: A magic bullet that can be used to transfer a magic spell with the accuracy and speed of a bullet. It can't be Reflected. Power of bullet is set at the time the bullet is made. Cost:
This is repeated for all of the element spells, changing the element according to the spell used. Name: Caster Cannon Shell Description: Using the principle designs behind the Caster Shell, Stilz has developed a much larger version about the size of a MP Storage device. These cannon shells are made of an iron material on the outside, but like the MP Storage and the Caster Shells they are hollow with the strange markings along the inside. The end holds a special tip that's made of the same crystal like substance that acts like the detonator. This shell can house one magic spell put into it, which then changes the attributes of the projectile and amplifies the spell radius. Unlike the Caster Shell, the metal casing for the Caster Cannon Shell can be reused as long as the crystal tip is replaced. Requirements: Magic 50; Casting 50; Machine Operation 75 Effect: A magic cannon shell that can be used to transfer a magic spell with the accuracy and speed of a cannon. It can't be Reflected. Power of cannon shell is set at the time the bullet is made. Cost:
This is repeated for all of the element spells, changing the element according to the spell used. |

Calculating Mind is approved. For the others, What do you mean by half-a-post? What sort of cost is that?
This is approved Your two shell types are approved too. They just need a price, and I'm not good at those sorts of things. Edited by Bag o Bones, Aug 20 2009, 09:33 PM.

Half a post usually means can't be fired multiple times. Meaning he can't charge, shoot, and charge again in the same post. Limited to one shot, or multiple if he has a gun with multiple barrels. As for the shells, I'm not that good with price either.
Added another ability. Edited by Seenter, Aug 21 2009, 07:01 AM.

Alright, that sounds reasonable. Approved. and for the shells. ... 500, 1000, 1500 for the first group and... 700, 1200, and 1700 for the second group. If any mod has anything better, then coincided price to them. |

Wait a minute, Bones, I don't like the idea of allowing someone to be able to get a 1k Gil discount on machine parts for every 100 MO they have. It'd basically allow someone to get machine parts for free if they simply decided to get the parts in separate threads. I'd prefer if it worked off a percentage instead. Here's my suggested edit. Name: Mechanic Minded Description: You've spent a lot of time around machines, tinkering and studying them every chance you get. You've gotten so good at it, that you can actually build your own machines. Given the right materials and time, you can create anything from a simple hand gun to an engine. And with enough practice, maybe your own machine. Requirements: 40 Machine Operation and 40 Intelligence Effect: For every 10 in Machine Operation this ability reduces the cost of machine parts "quested" for by 5%. This amount cannot exceed 50%. Does not reduce the cost of materials. Cost: None At 40 MO, you'd start out with a 20% discount and you'd reach the max 50% discount at 100 MO. Edited by Galileo, Aug 21 2009, 01:23 AM.

I don't think you quite get the precentages designed for this ability. At 50 MO, a player can only start out with 500 gil discount for building the machine part. At 100 MO, that discount increases to 1k gil discount. It's a fixed amount, unlike yours where if the cost is 5k the player could get a 2.5k discount on the machine part. I can see the % discount thing, and how that might work better. But like I said, the higher the cost of the item the bigger the discount. I'll leave it up to Kurisu and Bowwy, they know more about machines than I do.

You can do the direct cash thing as long as you have a bottom line, at least in my opinion. Such as... The price of the machine part can not go below 50% of the original. That way, if it costs 500, you only get 250 removed, not get it for free. |

Good point. I just figured that someone with a higher MO with this ability would show their skill in making machines. The higher the MO, the less it would cost because they'd be making most of it. With the 100 MO limit for Galileo's, someone can get a machine item that costs 5,000 gil for only 2,500. My way will require a MO of 250 to pull it off, and most of the items that Stilz would make with this ability are custom. The Caster Shells, the Materia Engine, even the Caster Guns that are his primary weapon are all custom items. Most of them can't be made by conventional machine craftsmen. |

Doesn't particularly like the Art of Fighting, but definitely wants to be the King of Fighters.
|
The best course of action would be pretty much as ES describes it. Fixed increment based on skill, and not based on the price of the item itself, with a cap of half the price. As for the custom ammunition, that's to a degree in the realm of the weaponsmiths. They can do that for you if you're willing to pay them. Edited by KurisuMurei, Aug 21 2009, 08:09 PM.

So ya, -100 for every 10 MO, but just to only a certain percentage (like 50). For the most part, if you don't want to do the entire percentage thing, that works. |

Based on the feeback, here’s another suggested edit. I insist including an intelligence requirement because intelligence is related to machine operation. Requirements: 40 Machine Operation and 40 Intelligence Effect: For every 10 in Machine Operation, reduce the cost of machine parts 'quested' by 100 gil. Does not reduce the cost of materials and this reduction cannot exceed half the cost of parts. Cost: None Edited by Galileo, Aug 21 2009, 08:35 PM.

*shrugs* I can work with that. As for the ammunition Kurisu, do you really think Stilz would give that kind of information/technology to a weaponsmith? *chuckles* Those bullets and the Materia Engine are Stilz's life work. I don't think he'd part with those easily. |

+1/4 to Mechanic Minded Remove the MO requirement reduction on Life Chip. It's not like you need high MO to operate powerful machines. |
