Doesn't particularly like the Art of Fighting, but definitely wants to be the King of Fighters.

Chris guided his plane back home. It was probably at least two months since the day he had left, so he probably had rent overdue at this point. Chris made a relatively decent landing and left it there, to see if he was still considered a renter there. When he got there, there was a notice for him that the rental contract had ended for him anyway, and if he wanted to renew, he would need to talk to the landlord about it. Chris headed to the landlord, and, rather than asking for a renewal for his rental contract, he put the key to his room on the desk, then said, "I probably won't be staying in any one place for any length of time, so I don't think it will be worth renewing. Perhaps someone else will need a place to live." The landlord nodded in understanding, then gave Chris some money. It was the 'security deposit' that most rental contracts required him to put some money towards. It appeared that the last rent payment he made before his journey was the last one for the contract. Chris nodded, then asked, "As for the few possessions that I had in there...where will those go?" "I already had some guys bring them to a storage facility." the landlord said, "If you want to claim them, I'll give you the access code." "There's nothing I really need to bring with me." Chris said, "Just have them take it out as unclaimed property." After saying this, Chris left. Chris headed back to his machine, looked at it for a second, then said, "Probably needs a refill pretty soon. Tank's only around a quarter full. I could try to fill it up with a Materia, but I'm pretty sure it would take a certain technique to do so without damaging the machine." Chris took the machine to the nearest general store (or similar), then quickly went in, got a gallon-size bottle of water, paid for it, and brought it to his machine and refilled the water-fuel tank, at least partially, with it. Chris then looked around for a 'free' supply of water. Once he found one, he finished off refilling the tank. Now he was ready to go. There was a bit of a party going on all the way over in North Corel, but he could get there reasonably quickly, and it wasn't for a few days. Maybe there would be a few new faces that popped up in the past few months. At this point, he could probably train someone on how to survive in this world. Chris then looked back through his memories, and about how during his first meeting with Nex, Chris had mentioned something about combining machines. The original idea may have involved garbage cans, but at this point, they have more to work with than that. Chris looked at his machine, then said to himself, "Hmm...I'm not sure if what I've designed would combine well with what Nex probably has in mind. Maybe with some more money, I can upgrade this thing to something a bit more formidible. Hmm...let's see...up-sizing the frame would probably be no more than three hundred, and maybe a faster or more durable way of getting it to move will a couple hundred more. If I can at least operate it with a single engine, I can hold off on getting a second one and its own fuel tank. But it can't carry two machines on a single steam engine either way." Chris then took his old Nine Machine plans, then copied the base of the machine without the wings or the propeller onto another sheet of paper, then added some much larger wings with a Moogle-inspired design. "There. That should do it." Chris said to himself, "However, I should at least give the one I have some time before going up to the next level." Chris looked at the money he had on him, then said, "I'm not sure this is going to be enough. Maybe after Daze's out of the picture, and I'm pretty sure he will be soon. He's a bit of a coward, and he's the resident 'villain of the month', and will probably get taken down in the end." After this, Chris hopped into his machine and took off to continue his journey. His next stop was Junon over to the south. Being able to take to the air meant that he didn't have to go around and through the swamp. He didn't want anything to do with the snake that lived in the swamp any more than he needed to, and at this point, he didn't need to at all. Edited by KurisuMurei, Apr 11 2009, 02:04 PM.
