New ability request. All Brawn Description: You tend to think on a basic level and most of your actions are based on your emotions. You boast little in the self control department, but you understand that you have a powerful body that can make people hurt if they try doing something that you neither like nor understand. Requirements: 100 Strength, 100 Agility, and 100 Speed. Your (Base Intelligence + Base Spirit) cannot exceed your base strength, base speed, or base agility. Effect: Mind altering, mind reading, mind controlling, and influence type effects fail against you. This effect ignores enemy and friendly effects. Cost: None And this still needs 3/4 approval Spirit Bomb [Limit Break 2: II] Description: Moe gathers some of his own life energy and forms it into a bright white glowing sphere extremely hot to the touch and yet, it doesn’t burn him. He may sacrifice more of his life to increase both its size and damage. Others may choose to pay the price as well to improve its effectiveness. After creating it, Moe or another, if he allows them, will throw the attack at a single enemy and hope that it explodes in the target's face like it should. Requirements: 100% Alignment Effect: Deals holy damage equal to (Launcher’s Strength*1.8)+Total HP Spent. If willing, other PC’s may sacrifice some of their own HP to increase the power of the attack. PC’s do not have to touch Moe to assist. Accuracy equals (Launcher’s Strength + Launcher’s Speed)*0.5. This attack can be handled and launched by any PC whose alignment is 100%, but Moe must freely give it to another to allow them to use it. This attack cannot hurt any whose alignment is above 89%. Cost: Moe must spend at least 10 HP; this minimal cost increases by 1 per 1 HP spent by someone else. Moe can cap off the cost spent by him or anyone else for his own safety. For All Brawn, what if the governing stat of the effect is far superior to that of Moe's governing stats? I don't like the auto-fail on the part of the opponent. I think there needs to be some sort of comparison done, where if Moe comes out on 'top', so to speak, then he is unaffected. |

This is similar technique that does a whole lot more and has less requirements and it was approved. Still Pending: All Brawn Description: You tend to think on a basic level and most of your actions are based on your emotions. You boast little in the self control department, but you understand that you have a powerful body that can make people hurt if they try doing something that you neither like nor understand. LB is approved. And Drath wasn't talking about the requirements or what the ability does. He was making note of the fact that your side of the equation has three stats at full power compared to two stats at 70%. |

That was actually my question. All the mind-altering technique already have formula's and none are auto-hit >>. Personally I think a better ability would be one that allows him to use his strength in place of another stat to resist mind-altering affects, or that he gets (strength+agility+speed)/3 as his resistance instead of one that makes him all out immune, and has a formula. Cause then there's no point in the formula for the mental technique. |

Yes it does supersede them because Spirit and Intelligence are the stats normally used for using mind/memory related techniques. Reworded it just slightly. All Brawn Description: You tend to think on a basic level and most of your actions are based on your emotions. You boast little in the self control department, but you understand that you have a powerful body that can make people hurt if they try doing something that you neither like nor understand. It is still very problematic, even more so now as you made it even better. (Strength + Speed + Agility) vs (Spirit + Intelligence) is a completely unfair comparison as it gives you an extra stat to use. Zanders is different and basically saying someone needs double his own spirit and intelligence put together to affect him. Then you make that ability itself immune to enemy and friendly attacks which makes the ability way to powerful as any abilities that cancel out other abilities can't affect it now. |

Hmm...indeed. What if J used her Ability Shot technique or her Ability Lock Limit Break on Moe, and she was much more powerful (like she is)? By all rights, she should be able to negate this ability. And anyways, just come out and say that it's an anti-S.I.N. thing already. It's not like you're being subtle about it. It's just like how some of your earlier requests were so blatantly anti-Zander. |

I wouldn't even bother with this custom if SIN was the only character with mind, memory, and persuasion related stuff. Here's another edit, hopefully, it will be acceptable enough for you. All Brawn Description: You tend to think on a basic level and most of your actions are based on your emotions. You boast little in the self control department, but you understand that you have a powerful body that can make people hurt if they try doing something that you neither like nor understand. Requirements: 75 Strength and 75 Speed. Your (Base Intelligence + Base Spirit) cannot exceed your base strength or base speed. Effect: Mind altering, mind reading, mind controlling, memory reading, memory controlling, memory altering, and influence/persuasion type effects fail against you if your (Strength + Speed) exceeds the (Spirit + Intelligence)*0.5 of anyone who attempts to use them on you. This ability and its effect are immune to enemy and friendly effects unless the person targeting this ability and/or its effect has a base HP is higher than your base HP. Still seems unbalanced to me. Strength and Speed vs half of someone's Spirit and Intelligence. It'd be more acceptable if Speed and Strength were averaged as well and/or if Thick Headed were another requirement. But that's just IMO. |

Thick-Headed requires spirit and intelligence while this one requires I don't make either of those stats too high. And again, there has been at least one custom that grants a person doubled defense against certain effects. |

I’m going with a different “Level 2: II” Limit Break and I am changing Spirit Bomb into a level 3. Of course, both will need looked at. Soul Cut [Limit Break Level 2: II] Description: Moe charges toward a single target and punches them once and swiftly while continuing to run, making it appear as though he passed directly through his enemy. He stops several feet behind the victim who, by that time, will begin to experience the nauseating sensation of having their magic sabotaged by the attack in a unique and unwelcoming way. Effect: Deals Strength*1.8 in damage. For five posts, the victim can only cast magic once per post and can only spend up to 9MP per post. Cost: None To make Spirit Bomb a level 3, I simply changed the damage from (Launcher’s Strength*1.8)+Total HP Spent to (Launcher’s Strength*2.5)+Total HP Spent and increased the Alignment requirement for immunity against it from 90%+ to 100%. Spirit Bomb [Limit Break Level 3] Description: Moe gathers some of his own life energy and forms it into a bright white glowing sphere extremely hot to the touch and yet, it doesn’t burn him. He may sacrifice more of his life to increase both its size and damage. Others may choose to pay the price as well to improve its effectiveness. After creating it, Moe or another, if he allows them, will throw the attack at a single enemy and hope that it explodes in the target's face like it should. Requirements: 100% Alignment Effect: Deals holy damage equal to (Launcher’s Strength*2.5)+Total HP Spent. This attack cannot hurt any whose alignment is 100%. Cost: Moe must spend at least 10 HP; this minimal cost increases by 1 per 1 HP spent by someone else. Moe can cap off the cost spent by him or anyone else for his own safety. No approval on soul cut from me. Strength*1.8 damage alone is a level 2 limit break according to the rules. I know other things have been approved that have damage increase and an effect, but I think those are to powerful as well according to the rules so, I am going to hold my approval from this for now, as being to powerful with no cost. The rule I'm speaking of is this one:
Normal level 2 spells do stat*1.5 damage so by having strength*1.8 damage its already 'a bit stronger than a level 2 spell.' and therefore a level 2 LB with just that. Adding in the effect without a cost, makes it a level 3, in my opinion. |

Thanks for the speedy reply. Anyone else wish to give their feedback? Edit: New Tech Requests (Still awaiting approvals on my Limit Breaks) The 4 Talents Description: When skill, dexterity, power, and speed, the four elements of a physical attack, converge harmoniously, the result is devastating. Requirements: 100 Strength, 100 Speed, 100 Agility, 100 Hand to Hand, and Dexterous Strikes. Be Moe or taught by Moe. Effect: You consciously improve your Hand to Hand attack damage by your (Speed + Agility + Hand to Hand)*0.2 per attack executed with this technique. This effect only works if your base Strength, Speed, Agility, and Hand to Hand are equal. Cost: None Deflecting Punch Description: Utilizing things you’ve learned about control and combating magic, you can throw a fist into an attack whether its magical or physical in hopes of negating it. Requirements: The 4 Talents and Contact. Be Moe or taught by Moe Effect: When faced by an attack you may negate it with a punch if your strength (+armor/weapon strength if applicable) exceeds the highest determining stat for the attack’s damage and (Your Accuracy > Attacker’s Accuracy). In case of a tie, then the averaged amount of the determining stats for the attack’s damage is compared to your strength (+armor/weapon strength if applicable) instead. When this technique is used, its effect cannot be ignored or replaced. This technique cannot be used against bullets. This technique is treated as an attack and inflicts no damage of its own. Cost: None Edited by Galileo, Sep 18 2009, 01:13 PM.

Unapproved. It's two of your stats VS one of theirs essentially, very unbalanced. Make it (Strength + Speed) Vs their (Spirit + Intelligence) OR (Strength + Speed)*0.5 Vs their (Spirit + Intelligence)*0.5 so that it's fair.
Sorry, but it's too powerful for a level II. The damage is already above what most level 2 can do and the effect is also too powerful.
Make it Launcher's Strength X2 and it'll be approved as it has the potential to reach unlimited damage.
This one is fine. Approved.
So this essentially ignores the damage of the attack but just blatantly compares your Strength +Weapon/Armor to their Magic stat? Or does it compare your damage output VS theirs? |
