-Can you hear me- echoed a voice what appeared to be an endless dark void, and what appeared to be standing in the very center was a man of about 18. Wearing a light blue soldier uniform, His eyes burned bright blue and a black pencil like line surrounded most of the rims of his eyes. His hair seemed to flow around his head as if he were submerged in water, “Who are you, and where the hell am I?” Ryuu called back though the darkness, failing to keep the tone of panic from his voice…

-So you can finally hear my voice, it’s been 18 years I have been calling you,” said the now powerful echoing voice. “What do you mean? What the hell is going on?” Ryuu yelled back, anger and confusion in his vice now. -Mehehaha, all will be explained in due time…,” echoed the voice and suddenly a pair of serpentine eyes opened from the darkness, casting an eerie glow that resembled that of a black light. “It is time for the prophecy to be fulfilled,” he said, and a sudden sound of flapping wings ripped through the darkness.

“Centuries after thee fall of the Dragonic Master, shall come a Human capable of reviving the lost power and bring rise to Kuatsu once again,” echoed the voice once again, and suddenly the slowly rising eyes came to a hovering halt and before they shot forward right for Ryuu. “You Ryuu are that Human! And you shall revive my POWER!” boomed he voice, Ryuu tried to turn and run but his body failed to move an inch.

The eyes just grew larger and larger, judging by the size and distance of the eyes he assumed that the thing had to at least be twice his size. However, just before the thing looked as if it was destined to collide with Ryuu they just vanished, but suddenly a purple fire surrounded him and he felt the heat scorching his skin. Soon it was to much for him so handle and a yell had escaped from his mouth.

Ryuu suddenly sat bolt upright in his bed, still yelling in pain, which he suddenly wasn’t there. His hand found its way to his shoulder where just a few days ago lain a cut caused by Keeda’s Katana. It was a wound that should by all means be nowhere near healed; at most, it should still be scabbing. Yet in its place was a thin scar going from his collarbone to the beginning of his shoulder blade, stopping just short of a dragon’s head Tattoo that symbolized the Syncreed name.

“Damn… What a dream,” Ryuu said to himself, as he wiped sweat from his forehead. He was suddenly wide-awake now, and he could only thank that startling dream. He had had a few like it before where he just stood there and heard nothing but horrible roars of something surrounding him. But this was different it was like the thing actually spoke to him, and it had been the first time he had been set ablaze in that dream. What bothered him the most was how real it was it all seemed so vivid, and the pain felt so real.

He knew all hopes of falling asleep again was going to be pointless, so instead of trying he grabbed his phone from its charging cradle and checked for missed messages as he made his way to the bathroom. After the dream, everything just seemed to take on its normal routine, just a few hours earlier. The only thing that he had to look forward to was the second day of rare coinciding days off, though since the day before yesterday nothing seemed quite right. After meeting Keeda and Kira the werewolf by any other means, nothing had quite felt the same.

But today surly seemed to have a normal start, his normal shower, his usual self cooked breakfast, and the usual dressing strapping his newly repaired sword to his back out of shear habit. It wasn’t until his phone rang about eight AM, had anything changed. “Hello, this is Ryuu,” he began, but before he could finish he heard a panicked voice n the other line. “H-help, they are after me,” said the voice, but in the background came a loud bang and the girl screamed and he next thing he knew the line went dead. He scanned though the call history for the number, and he recognized the one on the top immediately.

It was a call made from his spare phone, the very phone he left in the bag he gave Kira… He hastily hit the send button to recall it, but after a moment, he heard the noise for a failed call. “Damn, it” he said, as he leapt up from the couch knocking a tray of waffles to the ground. As he ran to the garage, he knocked several things over, and he tore past his father yelling over his cell phone. “No I am on vacation as of today! So don’t call me till next week, no I don’t care what you almost have,” was all Ryuu head, as he shot past him.

He didn’t seem to even notice Ryuu at first, but yelled to him as he kicked open the garage. No matter how much Ryuu wanted to ask his father about Weapon-L, but he had to help Kira what was the point of asking the questions if the very reason he wanted to ask was captured. He rapidly pressed a code he knew so well into a key pad next to a box full of the keys to his father’s cars, but instead of getting the usual approval, a denied light came up. “What!’” he half yelled, as he punched it in again to no avail. “Ryuu what is going on!” said his father as he walked into the garage to confront the son that had just stormed through the house.

He stared enraged at his father, torn between hitting him and just breaking open the box. What would he do, what should he do, -Just tell him, - came a voice in his head, but he was in such a state he just reacted upon the suggestion. “I’m trying to save the abomination you and your lab created!” he yelled, stabbing his father with the index finger of a gloved hand. “What do you mean?!” he said, taken aback looking both busted and confused. “Weapon-L was it?” he said in a venomous tone, and a look of horror crossed his fathers face.

“You mean that is who they almost have?” he asked, but his tone threw Ryuu for a loop. He seemed to be concerned for her safety, “Wait… what you’re concerned for her?” Ryuu asked, and his father looked impatient. “Of course I am, I am the one that helped them escape, Ben was supposed to watch him but he they ended up changing, and he got himself killed by all means whoever did it had to be one hell of a person,” he said in a rushed panic, but he changed the subject, “Ryuu I don’t know how you found out about the experiment, and I you have no time for you to tell me! Take this and get her, and take her to sector 5 and I’ll meet you there in a different car,”

With that, he handed him an odd set of keys, and he flipped a switch, which revealed a separate door, which held A Motorcycle behind. “It’s a little bit of a pet project just a prototype I was planning to reveal to Shinra, I haven’t started on the full one yet but this should be able to help,” he said, This all confused Ryuu dramatically, but he didn’t argue but hopped onto the bike. Put on the helmet that was resting on the handlebars and in seconds he was out on the road. *Now Synchronizing* said a familiar cool female voice, and it sounded just like the voice he got from his sunglasses, *Synchronization complete - Incoming call number 501-8569.*

“Accept,” Ryuu said, knowing what to do and recognizing the number as his fathers. “Ryuu, Listen carefully you have to do what ever you can to keep yourself from being identified, if you don’t both of us will be in trouble,” He said, and it only served to annoy Ryuu, who didn’t even know where to start his search. “Look for a blue switch it should activate the sentry scanner radio, it should be them leading the search for Kira Shinra won’t send soldier for this they will send people they see as expendable,” he said. Ryuu did what he was told, and no sooner had he done so a voice of authority came from the speakers of the helmet. -The target is in Sector 7 Slums heading toward the Rolling Field, we should have her once she gets into the open area,-

He then flipped the switch off, and took a sharp turn down the corner. He scanned the rest of the controls, and most of them seemed to be unlabeled. The bike was difficult enough to drive but he doubted he could do anything else aside from that, but he did make not of the only red button that was labeled SD. It didn’t take him long to reach sector 7, but he knew he still had quite a lot of ground to cover. “Ryuu I am going to cut the call or they may be able to track us, but I am waiting at the edge of Sector 5 -Beep-” his father said, and disconnecting before he could respond.

He didn’t know what to make of it all, his father had been at the center of it all as he had expected. But why was he helping Kira, wouldn’t it have been his job to keep her detained as an Experiment… He felt that there was more to this, much more and he assumed he was about to find out… as long as he was able to get to her first, and get out of this himself. He was able to assume that they were tracking her now, trying to force her into open ground before moving in. Though they would probably find a little bit more that that wanted, and it was then that he heard what he wished he hadn’t.

It was a Horrifying howl from somewhere directly ahead, and with that, he pulled back on the throttle and nearly shot himself into an uncontrollable wheelie. He flipped the blue switch once again, and suddenly his ears were full of rapid yells. -What the fuck is that! Open Fire! Open Fire, - and suddenly he heard a series of popping noises, and a lot of yelling and howling. But as he arrived he slowed down to check out the seen, and in the mid morning sun what he saw he didn’t like. The beast he had fought just a couple days ago with the snake woman Keeda was tearing through the sentry as if they were nothing. They were clearly no match for it, but e turned his attention back to the scanner. -Bring out the S.E.R.G.E, and take that thing out, - the voice said, and Ryuu picked out immediately what they meant.

It was some sort of large bazooka like gun, and he gunned the throttle and bike jerked forward so fast it sent him flying off the back and landing a few yards from where the bike stopped. He hurried to his feet in time to see the weapon fired, and it seemed to have a mechanical claw that latched itself to the beasts left leg. Seconds later he seen electrical arcs flying from the beast to the ground, and he heard the beasts roars of pain. “Damn, no they will Kill it!’ he said to no one, as he leapt back onto the bike and he pulled back on the throttle making sure to keep from gunning it.

With a roar, he pulled off and in seconds he reached a decent speed, he then released his hand from the gearshift and he grasped hold of his sword. He had to sever the chain to the weapon as soon as he could, he already seen the beast slowly shrinking. He didn’t notice at first, but as he swung, the blade there was no mistaking the brightness of the blade glowing unnaturally. But he had no time to examine it more, but he swung it as he came close enough and it snapped the already hot chain clean in two. He then quickly put the sword back in its holster, and he stopped the bike just feet from the shrinking monstrous beast.

He looked back to the stunned sentry; they had no clue what to make of the new comer. Was he some sort of vigilant here to help them? On the other hand, was he here to stop them in some way or another? However, seconds later the beast was nearly the same size as him, and nearly human he reached out to the semiconscious creature and pulled it into the bike as she finished the reversion back to a girl about the age of 15. He then pulled back on the throttle, and the bike spun out on the dirt for a second and he skidded toward the sentry accelerating rapidly.

“No, Don’t let him go, open fire!” said the Sentry wearing the most decorated uniform as he zipped by, and seconds later he heard the gunfire wiz past him two bullets grazing his left waist, and on just grazing his rib on his right side. However, in a matter of seconds, he was out of range of the bullets, and they mounted bikes of their own. Though Ryuu had at least a mile n them by that time, and he zipped along the boarder of the Rolling Field, and the slums entering sector 5 he slowed down and stopped in an alley. He checked over Kira, she didn’t seem to be badly hurt aside from a few flesh wounds and a burn on her leg she was.

“Ryuu! Over here quick” came the familiar voice of his father as he rushed in and grabbed a hold of Kira, “I’ll take her to the car, see what you can do about them,” he said, as he took her in his arms and ran off to a brown four door he used regularly to travel to work. He had a good idea on what he could do, but he watched his father drive off. Ryuu remounted the bike and pulled back on the throttle, and before he knew it, he was leading chase to the Sentry again this time flying through the slums. Adrenaline ran through his veins as he flew down the crowded streets doing 90 M.P.H.

He swerved through the streets to avoid deep potholes, and some bits of garbage that was just laying around the slums. He knew however, that this street was coming to a rapid end, and with that he pressed the button labeled SD. Hoping that it did exactly what he thought, and sure enough a 30 second count down took place of the speedometer just as the end of the road came into view. He took one look back and saw the sentries still following his every move, apparently still under the impression that Kira was still with him.

When he looked back, he took a deep breath, and pulled his feet onto the bikes seat putting him into a sort of crouching position. 5 seconds were left on the gauge, and with that he leaped into the air and he just barely cleared the roof of the building before him. Nevertheless, going the speed, he was, and how awkward the jump was he still ended up in a tumbling stop. Only coming to a halt as his back slammed into a wall knocking the wind clear out of him as a large explosion went of just stories below him. He stayed just long enough to barely catch his breath before he began to leap from crumbling roof to crumbling roof.
The only thing he could do now was head home; perhaps he should call his father? But he decided against that at least until he reached home, but this gave him plenty of time to think. Why had his father risked all this to save her? Why would he isn’t she his experiment? Surly he didn’t attest what Shinra had him do to the little girl… Did he? The questions just didn’t stop; surly he was told that Ryuu himself had brought in the other werewolf’s body? But yet he seemed clueless to the entire situation, nothing seemed to make since to him, not only had he lost all respect for Shinra so far. If he would, gain any of it back probably depended on what, he found out from his father…

Once he got home he hadn’t seen any sign of his father anywhere, but he dropped the helmet into the garbage as he passed through the kitchen from the garage. He picked up his phone and punched in his father’s number, but before he could hit send, he heard a scream from down below in the basement. He dropped his phone in his haste to find out what it had been, and he nearly tripped over several things as he did so. The table, the tray of cold waffles that had yet to be cleaned up, and not to mention the basement stares as he stormed through the door.

But once he reached the bottom, he flipped on the lights to reveal the rather large basement his father had converted into an office/miniature lab. No sooner had he flipped on and the fluorescent light flooded the room, he noticed the figure of his father, knocked to the ground as Kira looked to be panicking. “N-no get away from me,” she was saying, and his father was back on his feet again and he looked like he was trying to give her a shot of some sort. “N-no you’re trying to kill me again aren’t you!” she said, and suddenly Ryuu felt a shill run down his spine as he saw her eyes suddenly glow bright yellow.

A second later, a well-aimed kick nailed his father in the stomach, and he was sent flying skidding to a halt at Ryuu’s feet. “What were you trying to do?” Ryuu asked, as he knelt down not taking his eyes off the once again transforming girl. “I-I tried to sedate her so she would not transform…” he replied, grasping his stomach. “Well that apparently didn’t work,” Ryuu said as he watched Kira transform in an odd sense of Curiosity, repulsion, and pity for Kira having to go through it. “Is there any way to control it?” Ryuu asked his father desperately.

He seemed to be in a moment of deep thought, as if torn between saying something or not. “If there is anything tell me! If not we are both in trouble,” Ryuu said, hoping to give the final push as he watched Kira’s muscles slowly grow nearly doubling in size their size. “Well it is only a hypothesis of another scientist in my lab, he suggested that the wolf’s basic instincts my hold dominant over the human’s. Stating that if one were to overpower it would be like a wolf challenging an alpha male for leadership… If it forwardly lost should submit to the successor for a little time at least… That’s why I had to get her out of there, they were bringing in a first class to test the theory and to kill her if proven otherwise,” he said, watching Kira in the same mix of emotion as Ryuu.

“Well worth a shot,” said Ryuu smirking, as he stood and took a few steps forward. “Wait no Ryuu it is far too strong for…” he began but Ryuu cut him off before he finished. “Yea father, but you also didn’t know that I already fought her once before like this, and won… Of course I did take her by surprise then,” he said, shock and realization taking over his face… “It was you that brought in Ben’s body? They told me it was a first class, but the body shown a snake like venom, and ey…” he said, the last part of what he said was drowned out by a horrifying howl. He hoped his father wasn’t kidding about soundproofing his home office.

Finally, the beast slowly got to its clawed feet, unfortunately the high ceiling of the basement allowed it to reach its full height. “Well either this works, or I knock you out so we can handle the problem easier… I am truly sorry, Kira,” Ryuu said, as he reached for his sword and drew it with a metallic ring. However, it was useless as the beast charged, as Ryuu swung the blade, but the beast caught it in his teeth and almost with easy it snapped the blade in two. With great difficulty, Ryuu was able to dodge the beast’s first strike, and was able to put some distance between them.

Then from behind, he leapt, and was able to land a kick into its back causing it to stumble. After that, he take to take out one of the clawed legs, but it recovered far faster than he expected and the beast rounded on him. With one swipe of the claws, it ripped open the skin of his chest, it cut clean through the leather and deep into the skin. He was lucky to have it for if he didn’t the slash would have probably severed tight through his ribs as well. The momentum, and the strength of the attack had lifted him off his feet and a second slash caught him and sent him flying right through several shelves.

The pain from just the two attacks left him immobile; the second attack had to have cracked a couple ribs. But he was able to watch the beast howl in triumph and the horrible look on his fathers face as he watched the blood spread from the gashes on his son’s chest. He also saw the beast round on his father, but as that happened time, itself seemed to slow to a near halt. In an instant, everything went dark, and he suddenly felt weightless and the pain had faded into nothing. (Where am I? am I dead) he thought, as he seemed to float in the dark endless void. -Hehaha, you think your dead how cute, you only wish death was that easy for you,- came a familiar echoing voice, and Ryuu’s eyes snapped open, -Now get up and use that power I gave you damn it!-

In an instant Ryuu felt as if he went from a floating position, to a standing position in an instant and with no effort at all it just sort of happened. “What power and just where the hell am I!” Ryuu yelled into the darkness. -Isn’t it obvious? - Said the echoing voice, -This is your inner sanctum, your inner consciousness, your soul, and your inner world of sorts. The very place you draw strength, the very power of Solder draws its many strengths from here… This is where the connection to the Life Stream is the strongest.”

He didn’t exactly know how to take that, how could this place be his soul and what did that say about him if it was? -Haha, Such amusing thoughts run through your mind, but let me clear things up for you. I shall finish what I started before…- The voice said, and suddenly another form appeared before Ryuu like a huge hulking shadow. A burst of bright violet light shot from the darkness, and went straight through his chest. -You see Mako Induction puts a distance between man and the life stream, so the it inner world becomes darkened, some more than others… It grants strength, but at a great cost to the body…” the voice said again and quite suddenly the light beam stopped, and Ryuu collapse onto the invisible ground.

Suddenly light began to slowly grow from every side, and soon after the void seemed to glow with bright purple light. -There I have eliminated almost everything the Mako Induction has given you aside from what is necessary, and now there are no barriers except your mind keeping you from accessing my gifts, I shall help you accomplish your goals. I shall mentor you in the proper ways to access my power. - The voice said, and Ryuu looked up into the eyes of the thing before him. What he saw stunned him for a moment, as the beast’s glowing eyes seemed to pierce his. It was a dragon pure and simple; its entire body seemed covered in black scales. The horns, appeared to be some sort of crystal, and it stood nearly two times his own height as he originally thought.

-Now wake up, - said the beast, and before he knew it, he felt the blinding pain again but the world still seemed to be moving in slow motion. -Good, now block the pain from your mind, and get up, - said a voice from inside his head, and with difficulty, he made to get up onto all fours. -Excellent, now I sense your weakness, you are afraid of hurting the girl aren’t you; wipe that thought from your mind! Focus, she isn’t who she normally is, she is a savage animal the thinks of nothing but her prey. She won’t hesitate to kill you; you must be prepared to do the same. You also fear for your father’s safety, and you are afraid of getting hurt. I will tell you now boy, those thoughts will get you killed. Now listen to me, and listen good- the voice said, and suddenly Ryuu felt a curious sensation in his chest.

It felt as if it was just coming back together, mending itself, and even the pain faded allowing him to think clearer. Suddenly he felt, a large shadow over him, and he didn’t need to look to know what it was, he was sure it was the Dragonic being he has just left -If you do not wish to be hurt do not let your opponent hurt you,- he said, and with that he pushed himself into a kneeling position. -If you want to protect your allies, you do not let the beast through your guard,” the dragon said, and he slowly pushed with his legs and put himself into a standing position. -And finally if you wish to do those two things, you fight to kill your enemy no matter who they are!- And with that his eyes snapped open to reveal his iris expanding to the entirety of his eye, which now glowed bright purple, and the pupil had become like a serpent like slit.

He felt his fingernails elongate into something that resembled claws, and he felt his teeth become something more like fangs. But most of all he felt as if he could fight anything with an almost certainty of success, and his eyes fell upon his target and he let out a snarl to match one of its. Its massive head turned instantly to face its thought dead opponent, time had seemed to take up its usual speed. The giant beast turned its hulking body, and began to charge it’s growling becoming even more menacing. This time he moved to the side with such agility and speed, that he was able to perform a one handed cartwheel to avoid the beast’s claws.

The werewolf let out an angry snarl, and made to swipe again this time he just moved out of the way. Unfortunately, for it this time, it brought itself to close to him, and he nailed it with a punch that seemed to pack more power than usual. The beast recoiled and backed up toward the wall, and in an instant Ryuu leapt and sort of kicked it into the wall forcing it to whimper as he did so. And as he landed, he swung his fist right into its gut, which brought his head once again into his reach. With one last punch, the beast seemed to know something had changed and it seemed to back away.

Nevertheless, Ryuu just continued to walk forward his face blank, and his walk confident. The beast lunged once again, but Ryuu who had expected it ended up booting it right into the chest knocking it off its feet. With that, its tail went between its legs, and it truly seemed to be beaten. “This isn’t like before,” Ryuu said to the beast, and he felt like it understood every word, “This time it my strength won’t fade so easily.” He himself had realized what else had happened that day, the sudden strength he had no idea where he got. The strength he gained just now seemed to be equal to the strength it gained from its transformation. Right now, the wolf mite as well be fighting him with the girl’s body regular…

“Now release her, and don’t come back until you are needed to protect her,” The beast seemed to understand every word, and it quietly seemed to give up looking more now like a scolded dog for doing something wrong. But it began to shrink sure enough, and within minutes, there sat a half naked Kira looking shocked. -Very good, fate chose a good person, - said the dragon, and the shadow that was cast over him just seemed to vanish. “W-what happened?” Kira asked looking confused at the monsters sudden retreat, feeling tenderly around the wounds Ryuu had given the monster. Suddenly Ryuu’s strength seemed to fade slowly, and every aspect of his presence seemed to revert, aside from the pupil of his eye, and the glowing color of his iris, which now glowed a soft violet color.

“Ryuu what was that,” said his father, as he got to his feet and walked closer to him. Kira realized this and took shelter behind him. “I don’t really know, not right now anyways,” Ryuu, replied, he suddenly felt a little weaker; if that thing was right he no longer had the strength of Mako… “A-and you eyes they are just like hers now… that can probably be covered over by the sunglasses if we spread that you have an eye condition,” he said, sudden curiosity in his eye, but also something seemed to be a triumphant glow in his eye. “So what is this Weapon-L?” Ryuu asked suddenly abrupt, and blunt.

His father just sighed, and accepted it. “Well I suppose you just as much part of it now as I am, seeing as if the theories are true the beast has succumbed to you as an alpha,” he said, but somehow what he said just didn’t feel right, he wasn’t a beast like that werewolf… Or was he. “Well the experiment was just away to use animal DNA Splicing to Soldier operatives, to create a more stronger, faster, and agile Soldier.” he said, looking away what seemed to be shame on his face, “I was given Kira here as an initial test subject. I don’t really know where she even came from they just told me she wasn’t likely to awaken from her coma. However, she did as the DNA reacted profusely with the Jenova cells and over compensated the splicing.”

He then walked over to a chair and plopped himself down in a chair, and continued… “It seemed to have awoken primal Instincts of the human’s, and threw it all together with that of the wolfs, and it triggers the mutation if the subject is in danger, or in heightened emotions, that’s about it. Ben chose to go through the process just so there was something there that could rival it in strength,” he said finishing what he had to say about the project, but he continued with a different story. “As soon as I realized she had awakened from her coma, I pleaded with the board to let me try to reverse the process but they denied. So Ben and I concocted an escape and he promised he would do his best to keep her safe… and it just seemed to be to much, and that is pretty much it,” he finished, with a pleading look to Kira, “Please forgive me for what has happened to you, I will try to put it right…”

“Well I suppose hat is all I need to know, as far as I am concerned Kira is staying here with us until further notice,” Ryuu said to his father. he looked as if he was about to argue but he seemed defeated and agreed in silence, “Ill show her to the guest room next to mine, that way I can tell if something is going on.” With that, he walked off; leaving his father sitting in his chair, and Kira was hot on his trail trying not to be sure she wasn’t left in the room for even a second alone.

Minutes later, he opened the door to he guest room, which was only slightly smaller than his own was. In the center was a four-poster bed, on each side were the finest oak bed stands, and at the base of the bed was a drawer to match the bed stands. Off to the side the room had its own bathroom which is something Ryuu’s did not, and a little further along the wall was a full walk in closet. “Here you go, this shall be your room, that door right there leads to my room, and it is usually locked but I should be able to hear you knock if you need something, but aside from that feel free to help yourself to anything here…” Ryuu said, not really sire what else to say.

“T-this whole room is mine?” she asked, flipping on the light to illuminate the room more than the twilight outside. “Yup, and if you excuse me I need sleep, I think I still have a few cracked ribs,” Ryuu said, rubbing his back an turning around, “oh and I don’t want to make you seem like a prisoner but try to stay in this room, my mother don’t come home much. Seeing as she spends most of her time in a spa in Costa Del Sol but she also don’t know how to shut up, and we have to keep Shinra off your tail at least for now.” With that, he turned and let Kira explore the room, and he made his way to bed. Hoping his father’s hypothesis was right about Weapon-L…
