Err I also increased the cost from 1mp per weight to 2mp per weight, and the cost for each materia slot from 2mp to 3mp, AND I limited the amount of spirit that can be used to determine max strength by weapon skill.

Assuming since those are all nerfs its approved anyway?

Okay since I think your saying I could have got the thread long duration by just changing it to the ability... can I do this with the weakened version (changes in bold).

Blade of the Dark One
Description: Finding that his own blade wasn't good enough, and not able to find any information on a person who could make a blade to suit his needs, one that he could corrupt or remove the corruption from at will, he came up with this ability, that allows him to a summon a sword made from his own energy, through his spirit. It summons a whip-sword blade made of his own spiritual energy into existence. The blades strength and weight depend on the amount of energy used in making the blade. He can also allow the blade to store materia within it, with more energy put into it, but the materia can never be linked. Additionally, by changing the magical energy within it, he can change whether it does non-elemental, or dark damage. This blade also has weight, and substance to it, so it can be sheathed if he wishes to use his Iaijutsu attack with it. It also counts as being under the effect of dark blade when it does dark damage for techniques that require it, and this ability takes the place of dark blade as he no longer uses another sword

Effect: Max strength of the spirit blade is equal to [Spirit * 0.36]. [Weapon Skill] x2 is the max amount of spirit that counts towards the blade. Max materia slots is equal to [Spirit/25] rounded down, max slots is 5 . The blade has a strength to weight ratio of 3:1. Note that this blade does have substance, and weight. The blade lasts all thread or until broken by something like weapon shot. Replaces Dark Blade
Cost: 2 Mp per weight of the blade + 3 MP per materia slot. 5 MP to change from non-elemental damage to dark damage or vice versa.

Second Dance of Darkness; Dark Ripple
Description: Once more channeling his energy through both darkness materia and his spirit blade, he sends a burst of dark energy forward at an opponent or opponents in front of him, as he holds his sword out in front of him horizontally, with the flat toward the opponent.
Requirements: Blade of the Dark One, Darkness Materia, 60 Weapon Skill
Effect: Damages targets in a arc in front of him equal to [Spirit] per 10 MP spent on the ability, able to spend 10 MP for every 500 AP the darkness materia has. Speed of this attack is [Spirit+Intelligence]/2 and it uses weapon skill for skill portion of accuracy. If it hits them at all and does dark damage, it causes the blind status. Damage is non-elemental or dark depending on what kind of damage the blade does at time of use.

Third Dance of Darkness; Scattering of Darkness
Description: The third move where he channels his energy through darkness and blade, this time as he holds the blade pointing directly toward his opponent, arm outstretched. As he sends his energy into the blade it separates into a million tiny blades of darkness, that then fly at the opponent, surrounding and cutting into them. The multitude of tiny blades increases the accuracy of the attack as it makes it easier to surround them.
Requirements: Blade of the Dark One, Darkness Materia, 70 Weapon Skill
Effect: Damages target equal to users [Spirit] per 10 MP spent on the ability, able to spend 10 MP for every 500 AP the darkness materia has. ASpeed of this attack is [Spirit+Intelligence]/2 and it uses weapon skill for skill portion of accuracy. Accuracy increased by 20%. Damage is non-elemental or dark depending on what kind of damage the blade does at time of use.

As far as I can tell, each one is just a better version of the one before it with an effect added.

Make it so you can only deal Spirit*2 per each attack, so you can either go with a 10 MP attack, or a 20 MP attack. I ask this simply because I don't want 100 MP for Spirit*10 in damage. And then, make the second version 14 MP, and the third version 20 MP.

Those last 3 are on hold for now Bowwy,

As for the spirit + intelligence maybe I need to explain it better.

It's cause he doesn't actually use magic really, everything it just from his own body personified by his will alone, rather than through materia, so there is no "magic" as it is defined in FF7 (using magic materia) involved in his abilities.

For the Ability, I'm saying no. MP is Magic Points. Not Spirit Points. This is obviously just an attempt to get around the limitations of having a low Magic stat, and while creative, doesn't sit well with me at all.

For the First Dance...I don't like the idea of Spirit doing damage. I never have, mainly because you can't have Endurance do damage. Several approved things may soon come under review because of this, not all of them your's...but until such a time as a decision is made regarding that, I'm going to deny this as well.

For Dark Engery Slash, you neglected to mention that Magus Defense-type Materials like Crystal would be effective against this as well. And since it also falls under the heading of 'Spirit doing damage', it too will be declined until a ruling is made.

Description: Drath channels energy through his energy blade as well as through his dark wings behind him, as three balls of energy gather at the tip of each wing and at the tip of the blade. As soon as all of the energy is gathered, the energy on the wing tips fires at the energy on the end of the blade, and then the whole mass blasts out in front of him for a large amount of damage over the whole area. The attack draws on the strength of his body for the attack as well as that of the sword, channeled by his control over his own energy.
Requirements: 20 Weapon Skill, 10 Intelligence, 10 Strength, Blade of the Dark One

Can increase damage to [Strength + Weapon Strength] * 1.5 for twice the cost of level 1. This technique allows him to increase the damage to [Strength + Weapon Strength] * 2 for twice the cost of the level 2 version. Can still use the level 1 and level 2 versions, and this technique replaces level 2. Damage is non-elemental or dark based on his sword at the time of use.
Cost: 8 MP; 16 MP; 32 MP

The requirements are based off spell requirements (weapon skill instead of casting, increased slightly since it is strength + weapon strength not just strength.) The other two requirements are added in at half the requirement of the main skill due to the fact that it does not take a materia. MP cost increased from 8 MP at first level doubling each .5 increase instead of 6 mp to compensate for it adding weapon strength to the single stat for damage.

Um...I guess this is okay, but this replaces the use of magic and materia in order to get a ranged attack...plus this is just another thing to stack with your other stuff.

It cant stack with any of the other stuff except passive abilities which any attack will stack with.

Also, as a spell it would do [magic] damage and require 10, 50, 100 casting only as a requirements. This adds an ability that requires 100 spirit for all 3 levels of it, plus adds in 2 other stats as requirements to make up for not having to have materia to use it.

Also strength doing damage like this there is a precedent for in Lini's LB.

Description: Drath channels energy through his energy blade as well as through his dark wings behind him, as three balls of energy gather at the tip of each wing and at the tip of the blade. As soon as all of the energy is gathered, the energy on the wing tips fires at the energy on the end of the blade, and then the whole mass blasts out in front of him for a large amount of damage over the whole area. The attack draws on the strength of his body for the attack as well as that of the sword, channeled by his control over his own energy. This level of the attack allows him to channel more energy through the blade and draw on more of his own strength. This level allows him to channel a lot of his energy and strength into the blade.
Requirements: 110 Weapon Skill, 55 Strength, 55 Intelligence, Blade of the Dark One, Sword Cannon Lvl 2.
Effect: Blasts a wave of energy from the tip of his sword that does damage based on the amount of MP spent on this ability. It does [Strength + Weapon Strength] damage. Can increase damage to [Strength + Weapon Strength] * 1.5 for twice the cost of level 1. This technique allows him to increase the damage to [Strength + Weapon Strength] * 2 for twice the cost of the level 2 version. Can still use the level 1 and level 2 versions, and this technique replaces level 2. Damage is non-elemental or dark based on his sword at the time of use.
Cost: 8 MP; 16 MP; 32 MP

The requirements are based off spell requirements (weapon skill instead of casting, increased slightly since it is strength + weapon strength not just strength.) The other two requirements are added in at half the requirement of the main skill due to the fact that it does not take a materia. MP cost increased from 8 MP at first level doubling each .5 increase instead of 6 mp to compensate for it adding weapon strength to the single stat for damage.
