Thoughts in Chaos
|
It was black across the seawall. The Moon let a sliver of light hit right as a crash against the rocks sent sea foam splashing over the sea wall and onto the cement on the other side. This place was an island, probably far from anything you could consider to call civilization. A man with a scowl upon his face, clearly armed, marched across the sea wall. He gazed angrily into the water, but tonight was a silent night. There was hardly a sound in the air, save for the waves crashing against the rocks in a vain effort to overcome them. Father away…much, much farther away, and over the open Ocean was a single helicopter. As it approaches, the sound of blades chopping through the air becomes louder and louder. There is a young man with blue green eyes sitting in the front, his is the position of the pilot. He was wearing the standard SOLDIER dress, he must have been at least second class with the way he had that purple uniform with the single pauldron on his right shoulder. Tucked away to the right was a wickedly serated blade. Along the length of the blade a name was etched; “Viper’s tooth.” The sound of the blades chopping the air was loud, but it wasn’t so noisy as it was outside the helicopter, this Jackie had noticed. She was obviously the young woman with the bright blue highlights sitting to one side of the vehicle, starring out the window at the water below. The trip had taken several days to just get here, but it was too early to be sleepy like she was right now. ’I shouldn’t have had such a good dinner.’ She thought to herself as the waves below repeated a hypnotizing pattern of constant movement. ’Rice, chicken, fried potato cubes.’ It had been such a humble meal, but with the addition of some soy sauce and a little salt on the potatoes it had indeed been a satisfactory meal. It was probably better than she had eaten in a long while, but the question remained as to why she didn’t just go with the standard rations and water. She just had the strangest notion to throw all three indigrediants together and form three course meal. Rations had indeed become more and more flavorless to her. Was it because she had eaten rations practically every day of her life since she joined SOLDIER? ’Well…it’s not like we’re force fed rations. Typically though, I don’t feel like paying for my own food.’ Jackie, SOLDIER 3rd class slapped her cheeks to try and get the weariness out of her eyes. “Objectives check. You remember what you’re doing down there right?” This was the voice of one of her newer companions, Cisco. She had met this fellow not that long ago, but he had proved to be one of the more persistent members of Dorado group. “Recon. Do you remember what you’re doing exactly?” she asked back with just a hint of a smile on her face. “Assessing troop numbers is my primary objective.” He told her, she thought it was amusing how his voice was slightly muffled as he spoke through the gasmask. She looked into his eyes, but as always, it was difficult to read them. That glass over his eyes always seemed to refract all emotion that seeped through. “I certainly hope you aren’t going to be falling asleep on the mission.” He told Jackie, he must have noted that her eyes were a tad droopy. That sent a nice shock down her spine and woke her up completely. “Pfft, maybe if we were doing something more interesting.” That was her idea of a joke being shot back towards Cisco. “Drop point ETA 15 minutes.” That was the SOLDIER in the front speaking. Jackie nodded even though he wasn’t looking back into the passenger part of the chopper. “Are they really going to drop us into the water?” She asked the fellow 3rd class SOLDIER. He nodded absently, sliding across the seats towards something metal sitting on the floor. He lifted it up and revealed it to be his ungodly huge sword. It was a weapon that was so long it had to fold in order to be decently portable. “I wonder what I would do If I had a gun that big. It’d probably have to be custom designed to take the shock from such a huge weapon. It’d be beastly…but I doubt anyone would be able to wield it to make it worth it.” Jackie considered designing her own rifle out of boredom. “The water is going to be killer on my gun.” She complained at long last. She spent the rest of this trip trying to figure out a way to protect it from the Salt Water below. “I’m sure it’ll be fine.” Cisco tried to rationalize to her. “Your gun is made of Mithril, its not like its going to rust like iron or even steel.” Jackie looked doubtful, but she nodded at long last. ’He is probably right.’ She figured. ’If this gun can still work in the middle of a blizzard, why won’t it work if it gets a little wet? It’ll be okay, I’ll just have to give it a good scrubbing and clean out all the salt so it doesn’t get stuck in the joints. Taking the rifle apart isn’t that big of a deal for me after all. It shouldn’t be too much of a hassle.’ Jackie laughed mentally at how worked up she had gotten over the gun. It was a bit silly. “Okay, we’re at the drop.” Jackie watched the Helicopter swoop down and close up to the water below. She watched the ripples on the water as it disturbed the tranquility of the waves. Cisco slid the side door open and let the overwhelming noise of the chopper blades cutting the air into the innards of the chopper. Cisco looked over his shoulder towards Jackie before plunging into the deep. It was her turn now. It wasn’t much of a jump really, but she was still a bit worried for her rifle. She held onto the side of the chopper before pushing off with her left foot. The water was cold and the salt definitely stung her eyes. She quickly swam to the surface of the water, just in time to watch the helicopter take off and fly back the way they had come. They were truly only in the quiet now, and Cisco was no where in sight. No doubt he had already begun his approach to the island. Jackie figured she wouldn’t have to actually submerse herself underwater until she got a bit closer to the island. There wasn’t anyone out this far to detect her, the Helicopter had only dropped them as close as it could before someone might have noticed. Jackie treaded the water for a moment longer as she secured her rifle to her back. Directly afterwards she began to form long graceful strokes the sent her body forward through the water. She wasn’t exactly the strongest SOLDIER in SOLDIER, but she was physically fit and it showed in the water. Fortunately for Jackie she was swimming with the waves that were pushing towards the island instead of against them. Once the island was actually in sight of Jackie from the water she began a more silent set of butterfly strokes for their quiet nature. The sound of the water quietly pulsing was the only sound that accompanied her all the way to the rocks of the sea wall surrounding the island. She heard a fellow walking across the wall above her. His footsteps sounded as though he had stepped into a puddle of water that had made it over the sea wall. After he had passed Jackie began to pull herself out of the foam that was gathering near the sea wall and up the rocks of the sea wall. She kept herself low so that the overhead search lights wouldn’t fall on her and reveal her presence. She peaked over the wall itself at the base, there was a number of towers with search lights on this side of the island. Surrounding the base was an electric fence. Jackie was sure she saw a moth get fried just by flying nearby. The woman hid herself among the rocks again when someone began to pass. ’This is going to be extremely difficult. I don’t think I’ll be able to run around with my sniper rifle…I may have to toss it here.’ Jackie figured the scope of the rifle would still be useful even if she couldn’t use the gun itself. She pulled off the scope before jamming the gun in the rocks. The SOLDIER whipped out a knife that was tucked into her boots and waited patiently for someone to pass nearby her again. Step. Step. Step. Step. BAM! Jackie quickly reached up for the guard’s foot and pulled them down onto the sea wall’s rocks with her. The Guard was totally taken by surprise. He probably didn’t even realize he had a knife jabbed into the base of his neck. Jackie pulled off her own ocean water soaked clothes and tossed each article onto her rifle. ’I’m glad my boobs aren’t big enough to actually need a bra…’ The SOLDIER quickly covered herself with the clothing of her enemy and grabbed his rifle. She pulled his boots over her own feet, and despite the clothing being a bit too big for her, she figured she would manage. ’Probably would have been smarter to wear a bikini to this mission…’ Jackie was feeling like her wardrobe choice wasn’t the best for an assault by ocean mission. The SOLDIER pulled herself up and over the sea wall, taking the place of the guard she had just ‘offed’. Jacki patrolled a bit, but she wasn’t about to hang around long enough for herself to be discovered. ’Where is my distraction Cisco?’ Almost as if it was cable on demand, the sirens blaired and a voice came over the intercom. “Alert, intruder at Eastern Seawall!” ’Don’t get yourself killed Cisco…’ Jackie ducked into the shadows and began to make her way into the base. There was a large elevator where several armed guards had just exited from. Jackie took several looks around before heading over towards the elevator herself. She ducked inside and hit the first button she saw…the only button she saw. The noise from the Elevator activating scared her. She felt that she was going to get caught for sure when the machine began to produced a loud siren of its own. “ARRROOOOGA, ARROOOOGA!!” She winced just slightly. Finally a large crash sounded off and the elevator began to move below the earth. She couldn’t help but be a bit on the edge. The TURKs hadn’t provided that much information about this base, and what was worse was that they were sending members of SOLDIER to deal with it in a covert manner. Sometimes Jackie forgot that Dorado Group was a special team sent out to perform delicate tasks. Its not like the Turks can be everywhere and do everything after all… Still. She knew that most SOLDIERs weren’t the kind to be…delicate with… delicate things. Take Cisco for example: He had a sword that was twice as tall as he was. ’It didn’t look like they had many Female Guards, so I think I’m better off staying to the shadows. I hope I don’t have to kill anymore people…leaving a trail like that could complicate this mission.’ Maybe this was why they sent Jackie. A sniper. She had proved in the past that she was a delicate kind of person. The right kind of person for dealing with Delicate things. ’I swear…if anyone else mentions the word ‘Delicate’ I’m going to start taking names and crackin’ heads.’ She watched the wall of the Elevator seemingly stretch up from the floor as the machine continued downwards. Jackie tapped her foot impatiently until it came to an abrupt stop, simultaneously the elevator’s sirens stopped. She managed to make it calmly out of the elevator, trying to blend in with the other guards even though she was probably the only woman on the island. If they even got one good look at her someone would know. Jackie eyed a camera in the corner of this…underground warehouse and decided it would probably be best to stay out of its line of sight. ’Mostly males here, I have to check out what these guys are storing inside of this base here.’ Jackie made her way towards one of the large crate like objects that seemed to be sitting everyone through out the warehouse floor, and conveniently enough provided some cover for her to sneak around in. She lifted up a sheet and examined what was underneath. She saw what appeared to be a large mechanical box. Confused she tapped the protruding control panel and accidently activated it. Jackie quickly ducked behind another one of the machines as this machine came to life. The box unfolded and began to form into what looked like a mixture of a lizard and a tank. It stood upright and had two large guns mounted on its arms. The first was a gatling gun, and the second was a missle launcher. On the machine’s head was a long tank nose that was clearly used to fire high velocity lazer rounds at targets. On the side was a clear logo, “Hellfire Dreadnought.” Whatever that thing was, Jackie knew for a fact that she didn’t want to screw with it. “Hey! Who touched the machine?!” an angry voice yelled. Jackie knew it was time to skeedadle. She ducked behind another of the inactive machines and looked around for an exit. The door slid open when she approached and she couldn’t help feel her heart stop as she thought she made a fatal mistake by rushing through as she ran into a posse of guards escorting a man at gun point. The man held his hands high up into the arm so that everyone could see that he was unarmed and wasn’t trying to escape. The Guards all gazed at her a moment, and she too gazed back at them, her heart stopped beating. “Ah, Ms. Nadaska! Good too see that you made it.” Jackie was a bit too stunned to actually make a response. She let her mouth hang open dumbly, but the fellow who addressed her did not miss a single beat. “We’re escorting the prisoner, come with me. I think I’d like a word with you in private anyways!” The look in his eyes told Jackie that she had better go with him. She didn’t actually have a choice in this one. These guards marched down the hall, through the warehouse area that Jackie had entered the underground facility through and began to take stairs down. On this even lower floor they brought the prisoner into the holding cells and locked him in. “I want two men guarding this cell at all times. Lets go Ms. Nadaska.” Jackie nodded meekly. She eyed the facility carefully, she was a bit fearful for her life, and she was wondering what was making this person so kind to her. He led her up the stairs and towards a special elevator. This one did not look as clunky as the one that Jackie had rode earlier. “This way.” He told her as he boarded and gestured for her to board as well. Once she had stepped foot onto the elevator and the doors had shut he began to speak. “So, little mouse… what are you doing sneaking around this place? Friends with that SOLDIER I bet…” He grabbed her chin and gazed into her eyes. “That’s right! His eyes looked just like that!” Jackie pulled away from him, she still had her rifle and lifted it up to point it at him. “Don’t touch me!” The man began to laugh, “You wouldn’t dare shoot me. I hate your fate in my hands. That is…if you truly value your life and the life of your friend.” “What do you want?” The man eyed her thoughtfully, “Well, what do you want? I’d like to know that much.” Jackie frowned at him and said nothing. “Ah well…I can only imagine what Shinra would want with us. We are threatening them with destruction after all…Maybe you’ve even come here to destroy this base yourself.” He tilted his head and examined Jackie quietly. “No…I don’t think so.” Jackie lifted the rifle so that the barrel was dead even with the man’s head. “Why did you help me?” This man examined his hands, making a fist so he could look at his nails without looking overly feminine. He sighed boredly, “Waste not the flesh. If I can help it.” The man licked his lips. “How about it?” Jackie glared, “How about what?” He sighed, “Isn’t it obvious? I have the authority to let you run around this base unchecked. You could do anything you wanted, have access to any file.” Jackie raised an eyebrow, “In return for what?” The man laughed heartily. “You’re a woman. I’m a man. Men have some…special needs.” He smiled broadly. Jackie blew his head off. “Umm…no thank you.” She told the corpse. Jackie searched the man quickly and found out that he was a Lieutenant that helped to run this place. He was really a fool. She hit a button on the elevator’s panel that would send it back down to the floor she got onto the elevator on. She looked down at the keycard she had pulled off his body before pocketing it. The elevator reached the top level Jackie looked up and looked out at the guards standing before her waiting for the Elevator. ’Damn it! Leaving a blood trail already!’ She shot the surprised guards without thought and let the doors of the elevator close quietly. Jackie looked down at the corpse while she was waiting for her floor. She could have sworn she saw the body move…maybe it was just her imagination. The doors opened on her floor and she escaped the elevator, hitting the panel one last time so that the elevator went up back to the top floor. She carefully navigated her way around and into the prison block once more. She entered and skillfully took out both guards protecting the cell of the man she saw earlier. She fumbled with the keys of one of the guards for a minute until she managed to unlock the doors. The man inside eyed her carefully. “They finally sent someone to kill me off huh? No witnesses I assume. You’re probably going to kill yourself afterwards too. Crazy enough for that I bet.” “What?” Jackie shook her head at the man, “I’m not here to kill you. I want to know who you are?” The man gazed at her absently, “You mean that you don’t recognize me Ms. Nadaska? I’m sure you must have seen my photo a bazillion times. You’re the one that has ordered all the torture sessions after all.” Jackie shook her head in her defense. “No! I’m not Nadaska; my name is Jackie, SOLDIER 3rd class. That was just a cover.” The man raised an eyebrow, “Really? Hmph. My name is Baldur. I was a scientist here.” “Well…what can you tell me about what is going on around here? I want to know everything.” She told Baldur. He scratched his chin and thought hard, “You really don’t know? These guys have only been sending threats to Shinra. Threat after threat. Firstly they have been holding us Scientists hostage. They have been forcing us to work on war machines called Hellfire Dreadnoughts. Supposedly those things are supposed to be capable of battling members of SOLDIER.” Jackie nodded to the Scientist and then asked, “So what about the other Scientists? They are being held hostage too?” Baldur nodded, “Yes, they kill one of us every hour. I was the next one to die. Not only are they killing us, but they force us to work on the Hellfire Dreadnoughts too. Its pathetic. Work or else we’ll kill you. Even though we’re going to kill you all anyways because Shinra won’t come to save us.” “Maybe I can do something about that.” Baldur shook his head at Jackie, “Listen, that man who was with you is a sicko. He’s raped some of the dead bodies of the scientists…male and female.” Jackie held up a hand to stop Baldur’s speech. “I shot him in the head, he’s no longer a problem.” Baldur put a finger to Jackie’s lips. “Just let me finish okay?” he asked her. Jackie nodded her head slowly. “He has some insane Regenerative powers. I don’t know what he is but it’s almost like he can’t be killed.” “What do you mean can’t be killed?” Just then a voice came over the intercom. “Attention, there is an intruder inside the base, activate the Hellfire Dreadnoughts. Search for a female, blue highlights in her hair. She is wearing our uniform and armed with an assault rifle.” It was the voice of the man Jackie had killed…or…rather…she thought she had killed. ”See? This guy just gets up after he is killed.” Jackie frowned, “And now they’ll be looking for me too. So what happens now.” Baldur shrugged at Jackie, “You mean you don’t have a plan?” Jackie shook her head, “This is the first time I heard that there were any hostages in this base.” Baldur tapped his foot a moment before raising his head and brightly saying, “I have an idea then. If you can manage to get me into a security room, I can hack into their systems and guide you anywhere you want. Quite possibly I can even stop the Hellfire Dreadnoughts too.” Jackie nodded, “It sounds like a plan…By the way, just in case I have to go up against one of those Dreadnoughts, do they have any weak points that I should know about?” Baldur shook his head, “No weak points. You just have to widdle them down and hack them to pieces.” The SOLDIER 3rd class couldn’t help but groan as she looked down at her assault rifle. “I’m going to need a bigger gun.” She told the man. “I understand completely what you mean. I guarantee you that the Hellfire Dreadnoughts that we made are not to be trifled with.” Jackie groaned, “Just stop talking, I don’t want to hear how bad I’ll get my butt kicked okay?” Baldur nodded. Jackie decided to peek out into the hallway, it was clear for now. “I seriously am going to need a bigger gun if I’m going to keep you alive. Do you know if there is an armory nearby?” Baldur nodded once again, “Yes, there is one on this level. We’ll need to cross this hallway and take a left, at the second door we pass we’ll need to take a right and it’ll be at the end of the hallway.” “Roger.” She told Baldur, peeking outside into the hall again. Her quick eyes spotted a Hellfire Dreadnought exit the elevator and begin a patrol on this level. She looked over her shoulder at Baldur. “We’re going to have to be extra careful.” She told him before stepping out into the hallway. She waited until the Dreadnought had left to search some cranny or another before quickly and quietly moving down the hallway and moved down the left as Baldur had instructed. She made sure Baldur was still behind her…He was. “So far so good.” She sighed in relief too soon. The Dreadnought with its keen senses snapped about and began to run after them. The large clank noises of its steps told Jackie long before it had even gotten close it was time to run. She looked over at Baldur, shoving him forward she yelled to him, “Run! Run! RUN!” The Scientist didn’t need to be told twice. Jackie began to run too, she fired a few rounds over her shoulders at the Dreadnought, noting how the bullets clearly just rattled against the Machine’s hull. “Chikusou.” As Jackie ran forward, another Dreadnought burst from a wall in front of her. It opened fire with its gatling gun. The SOLDIER let herself hit the ground and let her momentum force her into a slide underneath the machine’s feet. “Eat THIS!” She opened fire again, emptying the assault rifle fully upon the underside of the Dreadnought. It turned out, much like she expected: The Dreadnought simply ignored the bullets. Now she had two Hellfire Dreadnoughts on her tail. They were both unloading hundreds of bullets that either grazed or missed her. Lucky she was pretty quick. The dropped the assault rifle she was carrying and let herself slip down the corridor to the right. “Was it the right? Where the bloody did Baldur run off to?” Jackie figured that she must have taken a wrong turn in order for her to no longer have Baldur in her sight. “So much for a big gun.” She complained to herself as she considered the wrong directions. “I’ll probably run into more of these things if I keep running. I need to find somewhere to hide.” Jackie turned a corner to the left and found a dead end. Well…there was a box, and she was desperate. Jackie ran to the box and pulled it over her head and prayed. The Hellfire Dreadnoughts approached, stared at her inside of the box, and left. ’What…what the hell..’ she was scared…or maybe surprised. Jackie peeked out from underneath the box at the hallway before her. “Lucky.” She whispered to herself. The 3rd class examined the box she had hid under. It was pretty standard looking with the exception of a barcode on the top of it. Whatever that barcode was telling these robots…Jackie had to test this theory. She while wearing this box began to sneak around. She ran into one of the robots and stood still with the box over her head. The Machine glared at her for a moment but otherwise completely ignored her. She was almost skittish at the way the robots seemed to ignore this box. “What’s the likely hood of having a box at the end of a hallway like this?” She asked herself. ’As long as I don’t run into any of the guards here I should be just fine.’ She thought to herself. ’I need to back track now and find that armory. Was it to the right? Yeah…I think so.’ Jackie managed to make her way through corridors without much fuss with this box on her head. It made the robots ignore her, but the people would still give her grief if they saw her. She was careful about moving around and finally opened the armory and met Baldur inside. “Finally. What happened?” She shrugged, “I got delayed, but I found a POWER BOX!” Jackie held out the box to Baldur so he could examine it. “Power box…?” He questioned, looking at its…well fairly ordinary details. Jackie quickly responded with a nod, “That would be correct sir.” Baldur looked at the barcode again, “This must be the reason why they leave you alone if you wear this box on your head.” He tossed the box to the side. “You shouldn’t need it anymore after I give you this.” He walked through several rows of guns lined up on the shelves and opened up a locker on the other side of the room. “The last Gun ever created by Markus SWORD.” Jackie nearly did a double flip from where she was standing but managed to contain herself. “Oh! Are you kidding? Is this really the SWORD double X One nine seven?” Baldur scratched his head, “Well..umm..yeah.” It took him a moment to digest what she had said before he finally went out and asked, “Where did you even hear about this gun?” Jackie held out her hands in an explanatory manner, “Well, I happen to own two of the Five Guns he has made.” She told Baldur. “Two of them? Are you kidding..?” Jackie nodded, “And I shot him in the head too.” Baldur’s eyes nearly popped out of his head. “You shot Markus? Oh Geez…In any case we don’t have time for this now.” “Hey, aren’t you going to give me that gun?” Baldur shook his head no, “Not after what I heard you did to Markus.” Jackie sighed, “Fine…how much?” Baldur smiled and nodded at last. “Well…I’ll take at least 4,000 gil.” Jackie rolled her eyes and produced 4,100 gil and handed it to Baldur. “and 100 for the tip. By the way…I might tell you the location of one of the guns I own…if you give me something too.” Baldur shrugged and handed Jackie a little bit back of what she had given him. “I’ll bite.” He told her. “Well I left my SWORD double X one nine six on the sea wall jammed between some rocks.” Baldur frowned, “Mistreating such a wonderful gun.” He complained to her. Jackie shook her head, “Honestly, I had no choice but to leave it there.” Baldur glared a moment longer before he finally said, “Well whatever. Just listen up…I need you to get me inside of a security station…From there I can reprogram the robots and take over the island.” Jackie nodded. “I also have a team mate on this island. He has a giant sword, so make sure they don’t take him out.” Jackie popped a bullet into the chamber of the SWORD XX197 and smiled. It felt so righteous. “Here, put that box on your head, just in case. I think it might keep you alive.” Jackie suggested. She tested to see if the box really would fit over his head, and it did. “Just stay low to the ground and hope nothing accidently hits you.” Baldur nodded even if he rolled his eyes like the whole thing was ridiculous. ’Might just save your life.’ She thought to herself. Jackie peeked outside into the hallway. It seemed she was doing a lot of peeking lately. ’They really should have called in the turks and had them do this mission.’ Jackie was ready. They began to sneak down the hallway, careful of the machines as they made their rounds. The Hellfire Dreadnoughts might have looked scary, but against the BOX OF POWER, they were helpless. They couldn’t tell up from down when it came to the box of power. “There…There should be a security outlet over here…” Baldur was telling Jackie. She nodded and began to head down the way he was pointing. This hallway opened up into a large room like area where she noticed something odd…Hellfire Dreadnoughts standing in a row behind the man she had shot earlier. “I told you that I held your life in my hands.” He laughed at Jackie. Suddenly the roof came crashing in and Cisco stood by Jackie’s side with his humongous sword fully extended. “Hmph..so much for Recon.” He grunted towards Jackie. She shrugged and held up her new gun at the Hellfire Dreadnoughts. “GET THEM!” Yelled the officer. The Dreadnoughts began to move forward, immediately all seven of them opened fire with their Gatling guns. Cisco quickly used his Giant sword to Shield himself and Jackie while Jackie jumped up into the air and fired a precision shot into one of the machine’s gatling guns. Cisco took a large swing at the machines, but they all avoided him like her was a person trying to swat a fly. He was too clumsy it seemed to hit them. “Damn.” He cursed loud enough for Jackie to hear. The seven were now split apart, three of them were firing at Cisco and two at Jackie. A missile launched from one of the machine’s second arms at Jackie. She avoided the attack and let it take out another Hellfire Dreadnought. Jackie aimed and fired a huge shell from her rifle into the Hellfire Dreadnought. “This is why I love Markus Sword.” The huge bullet bore a decent sized whole into the robot’s chest and made it fall down and deactivate. “I’ll cover you!” Cisco yelled. He jumped in front of Jackie and used his monstrous sword to protect her and himself from the pounding of the gatling guns. Jackie quickly took out each gatling gun one by one. It was mostly through trick shots were she had the bullets ricochet off of various things to hit the arms of the robots and ruin the circuits. Suddenly all of the machine began to fire their lazers. Cisco tried to protect Jackie from a lazer, but the laze blew a huge whole in his sword and sent him flying into a wall. Jackie gasped as she was forced to avoid the monstrous attacks one after another. “You’re all MINE!” She told the robots shooting, but only to have her bullet devoured by the energy of a lazer that was headed towards her. She ducked and turned to point her gun at the machines again…it was…they stopped. “Huh?” Baldur must have done it. In fact she knew he had because he came back with a huge grin on his face. “Heh…while you guys were fighting I went ahead and took over.” The officer was outraged. “Kill them! Kill them!” The machines gave him no response. The officer pulled out his own hand gun and was about to fire while one of the robots stepped on him and began to unload several lazer rounds into his head. There was nothing left of his body when the machines were done with him. Baldur chuckled. “Lets see him regenerate from that.” He nodded Victoriously. “Alright. Call Shinra and tell them that we got control of the base.” Jackie nodded at Baldur. Oh how she was going to get it. They sent here for a spy mission, not to take it over herself. Maybe she would get a reward though…you never know. Jackie wandered over to a charred Cisco who was clearly still alive and picked his phone off of him. “Hope you don’t mind. I’m borrowing your phone.” She told him. He nodded and gritted his teeth as he tried to stand on his own. “Shinra HQ…reconnaissance failure, we ended up taking over the island.” There was a muffle from the other side of the phone before Jackie heard, “Acknowledged Dorado Group, we’ll send some forces to take over from here.” ’Game over.’ Jackie thought. |
