There was strange aura here. A Shinra Helicopter flew over the construction and quickly the place was populated with SOLDIER. Somehow some monsters had gotten inside of the Construction Zone. A majority of the force was being used to block off the area, but there were a select few that had been selected to take care of the monster threat. In charge of the operation was a Second Class woman with blue highlights. Beside her was standing a beefy man with an unrealistically sized sword. It was huge. The woman was holding a rifle, and looked across the area simply. "Our priority is to find out where the monsters are coming from!" She shouted to several SOLDIERs that were following her orders. "Jackie, I don't know about these guys. They're too green." Jackie shrugged, "You'll just have to make up the difference Cisco." She told the beefy man. The woman wouldn't just stand around either. She slid down the side of a half made building and examined the area down below. "It is possible that someone is letting them in. If so we need to find out where the leak is." Cisco nodded and took off one direction while Jackie began to search in another. A monster began to run up to her. She shot it mercilessly. "This looks like a bomb." She said looking at the body. "We should be careful because they can explode if we don't get them in time." She said to herself. "Everyone look out we have bombs in the area." She radioed in to the rest of the troops. |

Azreal kicked off the side of the helicopter, decending down a rope until his feet hit something solid. He gave the signal for a man to unhooked him from the chopper and spun around. He had been dropped off on a large building adjacent to the one that the squad leader had landed on. A faint buzzing in his ear reminded him that he was wearing a headset, something that he was not accustom to, but it was neccisary for this type of operation. He leveled his gun at his eyes and looked through the scope towards the ground. He was high up in the air, perched atop one of the underconstruction buildings. from its hieght, he guessed that is was going to be an office of some sort. Someone dropped down on the roof behind him and walked up to his side before dropping to one knee. "See anything Rook?" The man looked through the scope of his own high powered rifle, scanning across the ground below. "They're bombs alright... looks like there might be a few bandersnatches mixed in with 'em too.... but i can't tell; they're hiding in the shadows." Azreal reeled his rope in and bent down, tieing it off on a steel beam below him. "Alright, stay up here and pick off what you can, I better get down there." Without any more hesitation, he dropped off the side of the building and repeled down. It was a long way, but it was better than risking the helicopter, Azreal had enough experience in that matter by now. Climbing down approximately 12 floors, He had almost nothing to keep his mind busy except regulating his movements and listening to the radio chatter. Now only three stories up, he landed on another steel support and unhooked the rope from his vest. The SOLDIER looked through his scope again, finding it much easier to see the monsters that scambled about. How did these things even get here? He found himself thinking unconsciously. It was a pain, every once and awhile monsters broke into the city by one means or another. What he didn't understand was why they decided a wildcard like him should be on the hunt, it just didn't seem to make sense. Deciding to ignore it, he dropped off his perch, landing on another a few feet lower before dropping again. Six more jumps found him back on solid ground. He caught a glimpse of thier commander before she passed behind a pile of construction materials. She looked familiar, but he didn't get a good enough look to identify her. |

"Hey Jackie, everyone is in position." Came a voice over the radio. Jackie hadn't ever been in charge of an operation this big before. Typically they would simply send a first class SOLDIER here to take care of the entire mess, but it seemed things weren't as simple as that. Jackie thought she could have done this whole thing herself if she didn't have a child inside of her womb. "Okay then, lets clean house." She announced through the radio, giving everyone the okay to proceed with the mission. "Remember to keep an eye out for however they are getting in. The Executives have reason to believe that this might be an avalanche run operation so keep your eyes peeled." Jackie watched the SOLDIERs scurry about like little ants. She could see Cisco from afar slicing into some of the monsters. "By the way." She announced into the radio again. "Be careful, we are dealing with bombs. They will explode so try to take them out with a single hit and as far away from you as possible." Jackie decided to give her rifle a test run. It had been installed with some special shocks so she was obviously interested in how she reacted to it when she fired. She lifted up the rifle and aimed the barrel at a bomb that was moving behind Cisco. She pulled the trigger and felt the mechanism pull backwards, but she didn't feel it...the force. There was very little force against her body, and this was what she had been hoping for. 'Good. With this, even if I am preggers, I can still take on monsters. Sniping doesn't take much physical action anyways, so as long as I refrain from CQC I should be fine.' |

"Watch it Dark, monster at your six." Azreal spun around, keeping his gun up throughout the manuever. Through his scope he saw an overly magnified image of a bomb charging at him. Suprised by its closeness, he over reacted, firing half of his entire clip into the beast's body. Half mutilated, the corpse fell to the ground after it hovered in the air for a few more moments. "Wasn't talking about that one, look alive." As Azreal turned again, desperately looking for the other foe, he heard the loud crack of Rook's rifle. A split second later, a second bomb crashed to the ground beside him. "These things float, remember? Consider all directions when you're looking around." He looked up to the building where Rook was perched, giving him a thumbs up before returning to his mission. To Azreal, something about this entire operation seemed... rushed, for lack of a better word. There wasn't a single first class involved, the commander was only a second class, which meant that pretty much everyone there was a third, rookies amongst SOLDIER. It almost seemed as if they just hastely put togather a team of whoever was available. The only reason that no one else from Talvo was involved was that Azreal and Rook were the least injuried from the last mission; Riot had a good number of ribs shattered and who knows what other internal damage, Talon had punctured lung and broken arms, Glare was caught up in some sort of official busness, and the other Talvo SOLDIERs were all on missions. Even Azreal got sucked out of his time off by this "emergency". They gave him a few drugs for the pain and sent him off like he was in perfect health when in reality he had several broken ribs. Yet another bomb floated out from around the next corner. Azreal was about to fire when he put his gun on his back and unsheathed his blade. Gotta conserve ammunition, if I keep using it up at this rate, I'll be empty by my third kill... Hoping to take the creature by suprise, he charged, upcutting the monster with his blade at the last second. His sword tore across the bomb's flesh, leaving a rather large wound, but the second he made contact, it started to swell, closing up the wound with its spreading mass. The super-sized bomb turned towards him, its fangs forming a menacing grin of sorts. "Aw hell..." |

“Cisco…Make sure to keep an eye on the greenhorns please.” Jackie said via cell phone to her longest running comrade. Dorado Group as they were called, did not have a very good track record. Jackie often mused over the fact that almost every mission she had went on every single third class SOLDIER had a habit of dying on her. Except for Cisco, who had also been promoted recently. She wasn’t quite sure what was going on all across the field, but she tried to use this improve shock absorbing rifle to take out the enemies that seemed to flooding the poor 3rd class SOLDIERS. She saw through her scope a 3rd Class slice into a bomb. The bomb began to swell with a malicious grin on its face. IT was going to explode. “CISCO!” She screamed at the top of her lungs. “Already on it.” Was the response from over the cell phone. Jumped in front of Azreal and looked into his face. Azreal might not have noticed the gigantic sword on Cisco’s back, but he soon would when the bomb exploded and it was the only thing protecting them from the flames. Jackie pressed her lips together worriedly as she pulled out her radio again. “Don’t take the bombs on with melee weapons gentlemen. They explode, you need to take them out as far away from yourself as possible. Understand?” She questioned through the radio. She didn’t honestly expect an answer but she knew that they would understand. “How is that guy Cisco?” Cisco looked Azreal over and nodded satisfactorily, “He’ll live Jackie.” She sighed softly in relief. She didn’t want anyone to die. “Okay Cisco. Have any luck finding out where these things are coming from yet?” the man shook his head. “No clue. I haven’t seen any AVALANCHE operatives. Not even a single man hole is out of place either. I sent a team down to investigate the sewers fully, but they have been reporting back regularly so it looks good down there.” He told her via the phone. “Okay, I think I’ll head over to your position, we’ll have to come the entire area. I’ll need you to do the manual labor, and we’ll get that guy you just rescued to watch our backs.” Cisco nodded, “Sounds good.” The man looked over at the 3rd class. “Hey, what unit are you with?” Cisco asked because he really didn’t see enough people with Azreal to call it a unit. Shortly afterwards Jackie began to make her way down. She was careful not to do anything too stressful, but this job as it were, was one that she couldn’t help but be full with stress. ’How am I suppose to do this through the entire pregnancy? I’m lucky for now because my belly isn’t that big…’ She thought to herself. She wandered over towards Cisco and Azreal. “So did you hear?” She asked Azreal. “I would like you to give us some cover while I over see Cisco as he searches through some of the rubble and junk. We’re literally going to leave no stone unturned.” Cisco was a beefy enough man to perform such a feet too. His bulging muscles certainly said something about his capabilities, and the fact that he was in SOLDIER meant that he was only stronger. |

Azreal kept slashing, carving up the beast's flesh, but it did no good. It just kept getting bigger and as it grew its wounds kept closing up. He delivered his last slash when the bomb was almost three times its normal size. As this wound was sealed, the third class soldier was seriously considering getting out of there. His thoughts were stopped by the sudden presence of a massive man standing in front of him. His confusion was completely obliterated the second the wave of heat washed over him. The ground were the bomb had been floating above was charred and smoking, the man had saved his life. "T-Thank you sir." He heard the crack of Rook's rifle tear through the air several times in rapid succession. His comrade was obviously getting some work done. The commander's warning about using melee weapons buzzed in his ear. Of course he realized that bombs exploded, but this being his first encounter with them, he hadn't expected that swift of a reaction. "Yes ma'am..." He replied through the radio. No matter what problems he normally had with his superiors or the orders they gave him, he did his best to address them respectively, more out of habbit than because he had to. Seeing little more use for his sword, he slid it into its sheath and took his rifle back out. Azreal kept his eyes locked on Cisco's as the man questioned him. "Talvo Company, Sir, my only squadmate is sniping from the rooftops." His eyes caught movement behind Cisco, but another loud crack from behind Azreal stopped the creature in its tracks, half of its face missing. A few moments later, Azreal saw the commander walking up to them. Once again he noticed that she looked familiar, though it never occured to him that this was the woman that he saw at the theatre awhile back, she looked so much different than she had. His eye contact moved from the man to her as she addressed him, he nodded at what might as well have been an order. "Yes ma'am, I'll do what i can." He turned towards the tower-like building that he had decended from and spoke into his head set. "Rook, see if you can move onto the next building, we're going to need some cover." A second later, his comrade's voice cracked over the radio. "Roger that." Azreal turned back to the commander. "Alright, where are we headed, ma'am?" |

OOC: Short post sorry, "Talvo company..." Cisco said to himself. Jackie looked over at the 3rd class, "We're going to find the largest concentration of Bombs" She announced to them. "That sounds like the best thing we can do." 'I'm expecting that they are getting in via the sewers or something...' She nodded to herself. 'So...if we find a man hole after we locate the highest concentration...' Jackie pulled out her radio, "Guys, whose being hit the hardest by the bombs?" She asked over the radio. OOC: mine isn't much better Up on the building, Rook got back into a standing position and shouldered his rifle. He took hold of Azreal's rope and coiled it up before turning to the side. Before him was a building that was slightly larger than the one he was perched on. Grinning, he took the end of the rope and firmly attached it to a grappling hook, which he then loaded into the muzzel of his rifle. The SOLDIER took aim and fired, catching the side of the building. After a bit of effort, he swung on the rope to the next building and hauled himself up the rest of the way. From his new perch he had a commanding view of the entire battle field. Azreal nodded to Jackie. "Yes ma'am." A moment later he heard a response from the other end of the radio, it was Rook again. "Looks like squad 8 is getting hammered down by the plaza to the south west of your position. They're pretty much surrounded over there." While he waited for further instructions, Azreal tried to keep alert, shifting his gaze back and forth while he kept a lookout for more monsters near the group. “We’re more or less going to be the only back up they’ll be getting over there.” Jackie told Azreal before holding the radio to her mouth, “You guys on the Plaza sit tight, my group is moving towards your position to provide support.” Jackie looked over to Cisco, “Alright Cisco, lets get going.” The big man pressed his head into his palm, “Be careful Jackie, you’re not just the commander of this thing.” Jackie nodded to him. ’I know…I have a baby growing in my womb. But I can’t let that get in the way.’ “Okay, Cisco, you take point, Azreal cover our behinds.” Cisco lead the group through the construction site, he climbed over several tractors that had broken down and just been left to rot and offered a hand to Jackie, helping her over them as well. Occasionally Cisco paid a mind to Azreal and offered to help him climb over something, but mostly Cisco was concered about Jackie and for a good reason. She was not only the commander but she was pregnant. They proceeded to the plaza, Cisco would slice the bombs up in front of the group and then use his great sword to protect them from the blast, while Jackie used her shock absorbing rifle to take out any nearby bombs on either side of them. Over all though, the Skill of the two second class SOLDIERs and with the support of Azreal and the unseen Rook, allowed the group to reach the plaza in a matter of moments. Jackie assessed the situation quickly and made her way to the 8th squad. “Form a defensive Line!” She ordered. She pulled up her radio and spoke to one of the helicopters in the air. “Squad 8 needs some more ammo, drop the ammo crate on the South West Plaza.” She commanded the helicopter. “Okay.” She turned to Cisco and Azreal. “These guys will give us a base of operations to work out of from. We need to figure out where they are coming from. For now, gaining control of this plaza isn’t the priority, since Cisco can do that on his own, but performing a strike randomly will be dangerous.” |

"Understood." Azreal took a few steps forward, following behind Jackie and Cisco, before turning to face the other direction. "Rook, give those troops some cover while we make our way over, we should have it covered." Walking backwards, he swept back and forth across the street with his weapon. Not long after they started moving, a bomb turned around the corner. Azreal hopped up onto the chasis of a broken down car and opened fire, hitting the beast four times before it went down. Satisfied, he dropped off the vehicle and walked backwards until he found himself with his back against a tractor. Despite Cisco's offered help, he pulled himself over the piece of machinery and went back to work covering thier tracks. Besides the first bomb, only one more appeared behind them, which Azreal unloaded the rest of his clip into. All through the trip, Rook was up above taking out bombs in the plaza. His reticule moved seemlessly from one target to the next, stopping for only a few moments between his shots. He never used more than two rounds on a single target; he never needed any more than that. By the time Jackie reached the plaza, he already had six kills. Yet no matter how many were killed, more seemed to keep showing up. A bomb floated down between Jackie and Azreal, out of both of thier firing arcs. Seeing this, Rook made a quick move with his rifle and squeezed off a single shot. The bomb moved slightly, leaving the bullet to impact the wall behind the monster. "Wha? ... I missed?" His attention was quickly grabbed by a bomb that was biting into one of the other SOLDIER's shoulder. He changed his target to this and fired again, felling the creature instantly. Rook's shot pinged off the wall to the side of Azreal and buried itself in the ground just as Azreal fed his second clip into his machine gun. He looked up towards Rook quizically, but he quickly caught sight of what his squadmate was aiming at. The bomb was just behind Jackie at this point, hovering a few feet above. Azreal dashed to the side and peppered the bomb with a quick burst. The bomb wavered and decended a few feet so that it was directly behind the commander. He rushed up to it and hit it with the butt of his rifle, knocking it to the ground before he unloaded another burst into it. That was close... He now noticed that they had arrived at the plaza and watched as the squad of SOLDIERs formed up on the commander's order. Without really telling his body to do so, Azreal crouched and aimed at the nearest foe. Before he could fire, the bomb dropped, slain. The echoing sound of a rifle crack told him that it was Rook's doing. He nodded with approval then turned back to the commander, listening to her explaination. He stood up, letting his gun hang by its strap while he quickly glanced around. Jackie's plan seemed like the best course of action at the moment, but he couldn't help but see the difficulty in carrying it out. There were too many of the creatures for any easy solution anyway. "Alright, just tell me where to go, ma'am." |
