Helicopter blades broke the air as they rotated at a violent pace. In the back was a single man wearing a second class SOLDIER uniform. In the front was a lone Sentry piloting the SOLDIER to his location. It was quite a normal scene for anyone who works with Shin-Ra. Get put on a mission and go to the location of the mission. However, this man in the helicopter was no such man. He was an impostor. One who had stolen the identity of someone in SOLDIER. The SOLDIER he represents was a man named Keith. A man who barely made it to second class and only joined SOLDIER because he was good at nothing else in life.

"This is the location," the impostor SOLDIER stated, pointing to a clearing just before the town known as Corel. "They aren't fond of Shin-Ra, so getting to close would cause our own downfall," the SOLDIER said with a firm voice.

"Good thinking Sir," the Sentry said, lowering the helicopter onto the open field of grass. The man dressed as a SOLDIER quickly hopped out of the helicopter, waiting for the vehicle to take off.

"I will call you when I'm ready for a pick up," the SOLDIER said, signaling the helicopter to take off. The Sentry unit inside simply nodded before lifting into the air and flying back to Junon where he would fuel up and pick up another SOLDIER unit who was completing their mission. Most Sentry units were being stationed there anyways for some big mission. "Good, I needed to leave that wretched city... I could hear her calling me ever since I saw her," the SOLDIER said as he walked towards a small clearing surrounded by bushes and rocks. Unless someone walked into the clearing, they wouldn't be able to see what he was doing.

A large metal helmet crashed onto the ground as a bald man with almost no notable physical features was who stood there, removing his clothing down to nothing but a normal white T-shirt and black cargo jeans. He didn't even wear shoes. He neatly piled all the clothing into the helmet and set it inside a bush along with the sword that he had obtained from impersonating the SOLDIER.

"Now, I need to blend for now. If I remember correctly, this is near the location of that mission to get JENOVA... but what is JENOVA exactly?" the man said, walking out of the clearing. "The memories of that lab assistant didn't provide much outside of a name from one of Hojo's rambles to her about how great he was," the man said once more, stepping out of the clearing with a new set of facial features. His hair was long and black with blue eyes. He had a very petite figure, but looked healthy enough. Essentially, he looked like someone who didn't get to eat very often, but enough to live. He would fit in perfectly with those who lived in Corel.

Without anymore hesitation, the man made his way to Corel. He needed to find out if anyone there knew anything about that mission that involved JENOVA. He knew very little outside of a name. Normally he wouldn't care, but he felt so strange when he was around her. He needed to know why. He had no choice but to find out why.

Yumi yawned a bit, putting a hand over her mouth as she did so. It was a long walk from Costa Del Sol out to North Corel. Miss Yaffra had said there was someone in the town that she bought some of her ingredients from to make her tastey stew. Yumi controlled her urge to drool a bit, as a small voice echoed in her head. Her imaginary friend Jenova always came in at odd times, muttering stuff about reunion and how they'd finally meet. Yumi rolled her eyes a bit, having heard it a dozen times too often.

Yumi was in nothing unusual. She decided it was best to just were her dancing outfit, as the hunter one might make people weary. Over one shoulder she carried a small black leather back pack. It was empty in the two smaller sections, but the largest carried her twin guns and extra clips. "Never hurt for a lady to carry some protection." She sighed a bit, hoping she wouldn't have to use it at all. But these days, who knew?

Yumi entered the small town of Corel and looked around. The place looked deserted. "Ohhh noooo. I hope he's still here. I really would like to have some of that stew again." Yumi caught herself drooling and giggled a little bit wiping some of the stuff away from her mouth. The place looked horrible...just nothing worth looking at. Except maybe the big mountain, but mountains were boring to her. Yumi began looking around the town for the man. The pickings, and luck, were just horrible here.

A sudden calm came over the small town as the man with black hair walked by. It was strange. Everyone who was around him suddenly was at ease. Customers arguing with the merchants suddenly stopped and came to an agreement as he walked by. It was a bizarre turn of events and no something one would see very often. Anyone who got within about eleven feet of this man was suddenly happier, calmer and much more inclined to be at peace with themselves.

"I think the small market strip here will be my best chance of finding anything out," the man said, making his way to the small patch of road where all the market stalls were set up. Various things were sold here; almost all of it the man considered to be junk. He didn't care for anything these peasants had to offer him material wise. They did, however, have something he found to be the most valuable thing in the world: Information.

"Man, this place keeps getting worse and worse. All cause of the damn Shin-Ra," people would say, complaining. The man with long black hair sighed to himself. Overhearing a conversation about what he was looking for was going to be very unlikely. He would have to try and persuade the people here to give him what he wanted. With little more thought on the matter, he made his way to a man selling various foodstuffs. Everyone had to buy food, regardless of how poor it was. So he would have dealt with the most people.

"Excuse me," the man with black hair said to the merchant. "I am looking to find out a bit of information about some strange events that happened about a year ago around here... something that may have involved Shin-Ra. I wasn't around you see and need--" the man with black hair stopped, placing a single hand on the man's hand while he was speaking. Various thoughts and memories trickled into the mind of the man with black hair. "Thank you, I have what I am looking for," he said, smirking.

The man with long black hair took a step away from the stall, smirking as the merchant sat back in his chair, sweating. It wasn't an enjoyable process for those who had all their memories resurface at once and copied into another person. It was confusing and tiring at best.

Yumi looked up and down the merchant strip. It wasn't the best and she highly doubted anything coming out of this place would be in that lovely stew that Miss Yaffra made. She sighed and then in the distance she spotted a food stall and looked at the vendor. "That's it! That's the guy Miss Yaffra said to see!" She couldn't but begin running at full speed towards the stall. There was another man infront of the vendor man, and she knew she'd have to wait her turn.

Just as she was getting near a pair of children chased a ball in front of her. Her eyes went wide knowing her foot step would crush the ball underneath her weight. Her step however was just off to the side as she went from one foot to the other, spinning around the kids. The utter precision and grace was perfect. The ground however...was not. Her landing foot came down on a loose rock and she went forward.

Yumi crashed head long into the other man, taking him down with her. Her left hand held out with the gil necessary to buy the items. Somehow, during the fall, the gil stayed put. Face down on the other man's back she spoke at the other man's back, as if she was trying to talk to the vendor. "I'd like to purchase some of your merchandise." Her voice was muffled in the other man's back, as she laid there.

All was going well for the man. The information he collected was scarce. It was just rumors the vendor had heard. The rest was garbage: How he live, who his parents were and how hard his life has been. Invictus didn't care for any of that. He sorted through the man's entire life just to find the only valuable thing the creaton had ever done in life and that was a measly five minutes of conversation he had with a Sentry unit who was patrolling the area. The two conversed about what was going on. The Sentry unit didn't say much, but probably said more than he was supposed to.

"Shin-Ra has the area just a few miles south of here on lock-down, there is apparently something going on in a cave or something. I don't know much, just stay put," was what the man had said almost a year ago now. It was jaded, but was a bit more than what he needed.

"It looks like I get to go hunting for this cave of min--" Invictus was cut off. Not by another person speaking or by a sound of any kind. No. He was cut off by something he didn't expect. A young girl came crashing into him, knocking him off of his feet into the ground as she laid on top of his back, mumbling into his shirt. They made no actual skin contact, but something about this girl was off. It wasn't just that she had ran into him, but somehow she felt familiar to him.

"That... hurt," Invictus muttered as he managed to roll over beneath the girl so he could look up at who it was that landed on him. "Are, you okay miss?" Invictus stated, following the social protocol on what one should say when accidents like this happened. Who is this girl... her hair and eyes are both so strange yet familiar. I must know. Invictus thought as he found a new target of interest for the moment.

Yumi looked down at the man and smiled a bit, nodding. "Yeah, I'm good. OH! She quickly hopped up to her feet and brushed herself off. "I'm soo sorry, how clumsy of me. I must've tripped, so sorry." She handed the money over the vending man and asked for a couple of dried out old peppers, and some dried chicken meat. She politely bowed to the man saying, "arigato." Yumi took the bag and put it in her own bag, in one of the smaller pouches. The chicken did smell good, and she had bought an extra two pieces.

Yumi brushed herself off again and looked the man over. He looked...normal, unlike her. She thought he must be another lucky one. Yumi smiled none the less. "I hope I didn't hurt you. I was running pretty hard, I guess I should be a bit more careful. Gomen." Her eyes were closed and she was blushing, her head tilted to one side. Why was it so difficult to talk to other people sometime. She was out of place, maybe that was the problem. Her place was in a tavern having a good time on a stage, or mingling with the other tavern goers. Outside that, only hunting was the other thing she was comfortable with.

Mingling with normal people...that was difficult. They seemed to be weary of her at best, if not down-right hostile. She just rubbed her short silver-white hair and kept smiling. "Oh! Right, how silly and impolite of me. My name is Yumi Kikuchi from Costa Del Sol, what's your's?"

She was an amusing girl. She was so bouncy and all over the place with her persona. She also seemed a tad bit nervous, far more so than someone should. Which, based on how she dressed, she wasn't the type who would be speaking with people of Invitcus' current stature. It was time to act, time to figure it out.

"Hey, relax..." Invictus stated, pushing the message out to her mind as he picked himself up. Yumi would hear the words echo in her head, which may be something she's not too unfamiliar with. However, this voice was slightly different than what she was used to. Although it felt similar to JENOVA, it was of a different source. Relax, this man is no threat to you, the voice called out. Yumi could try to resist the voice if she wanted, but it was very powerful and dominating. There was also this harsh aura around that seemed to make everyone within it a tad more calm. It would be near impossible to link it back to the man however.

"My name is," Invictus paused for a moment. "Alex," he said with a charming smile as he took a step towards her. "I'm really sorry for getting in your way. You were simply in a hurry and I wasn't paying attention at all," Invictus, or Alex, stated. His statement wasn't entirely untrue. Sure he wasn't at fault for it at all, but if you twist it enough it would take the blame off of Yumi, which would hopefully make her feel even more at ease around this so called Alex.

"I come from Midgar actually, I'm sightseeing and trying to learn about the area," he said, trying to give her something to pin to the face. However, his statement wasn't entirely a lie either. He did just come from Midgar and he was searching for something. Depending on what Invictus finds out about this girl will determine how much she learns about him. She could be one of the special people he is keeping an eye out for.

Yumi heard the voice in her head. Her eyes betrayed a bit more then she should've, but it wasn't her fault. Her pupils contracted rapidly, but not like a normal human's. They contracted into slits, like a cat's. In an instant they had lost their mirth, their happiness. Instead they reflected something serious, and possibly dangerous. It was only for a second, and then it was gone. Not back to being happy, just...relaxed.

Yumi nodded her head a bit. "Maybe you should check out Costa Del Sol, that place has a bit more to ummm look at." She smiled again, but it seemed a bit forced. Something bugged her about the man now, but she couldn't understand what. Some primal feeling that she should watch him. Her eyes were passive though, but they scanned everything. Her eyesight was great, and she took in every detail in seconds. Memory, eyesight, and body control...trademarks of a very good dancer. And a very very good shooter. Yumi hoped it wouldn't come to that though.

"I've never heard of Cost del Sol," Alex, or Invictus or... Keith... whomever one would wish to call him stated to the girl. "What is it like there?" He asked her, hoping to calm her down some more. If she were to speak of her home town, she may be even more at ease. It was also likely that this Coast del Sol had valuable information as well. Invictus knew of the place, he lied when he said he didn't. He knew it was a port town that traded with Junon. If JENOVA was here in that container he saw in his memories, then they would of had to brought her through Coast del Sol.

"I don't mean to be rude... but I noticed your unique style of dress, what is it you do exactly?" Invictus asked once more. He figured if he could get her to speak more about herself, he would be able to get her in a situation where she would trust him. Once that happened, he could get what he wants from her; her memory. Women were much harder to manipulate than men for some reason. With a man, all you had to do was be a pretty young girl with revealing clothing to make them melt like butter. There was hardly an easy way to do that with a girl as a shape shifter. At least, not quite as easy.

Yumi smiled a bit. Costa Del Sol was definetly a nice place, but it wasn't anything like here home. "It's a lovely port town. The biggest on the western continent, and the only real port that connects to Junon on the east continent. It is a nice place, the smell of the ocean always on the breeze." She nodded her head a bit, trying to force herself to think the same thing was actually true. In truth she really didn't much care for the port city. It was dark and kind of gritty in her opinion. People always coming and going, it couldn't be good for their health.

Yumi's eyes moved over Alex, checking to see if he was trying to catch glimpses of herself under her clothes. "I'm a singer and dancer at a local tavern in Costa Del Sol. It's a descent enough job, though I don't make any actual money. Just a place to live and food in exchange for my voice and dancing." She shrugged her shoulders as she tossed the small pack around them. It was getting late and she thought she should start her journey back.

"Coast Del Sol, hm?" the man said, smirking at the name of the port town. It was merely a coincidence, but this town had his first name in the name of the town. It was the Latin word for Sun and was the name of a deity of old times. He was the god of the sun and it made sense that a port town on the coast was named after him. However, Invictus unlike the god of the sun was not famous. He was rather unknown to the world, for now. Soon he would rise up and claim a spot amongst the gods and be immortal as they are thought to be.

"Do you mind showing me this town of yours? I am a tourist after all and would like to see everything I can before I head back home," the man who claimed to be Alex asked. His smile was legit and his eyes were very calming. Messages of relaxation almost exploded from his body as he tried to keep the girls trust. He showed no signs of harming her at the moment and in truth had no such intentions. He just needed to know what she was and why she reminded him of that JENOVA creature he saw in the Shin-Ra tower. He had to know.

I really should inspect that cavern on the way, Invictus thought to himself, stopping all his actions in mid thought. Idea; bring her along. It should be on the way to Coast del Sol based on the memories of that shop keeper, he thought once more. There's a chance she will find something I will not since she resembles that creature in some fashion. If anything, it will allow me to read her memories and figure out what it is that causes that link. He deduced once more, hoping that she will decide to take him along to Coast del Sol.

Yumi shrugged her shoulders then nodded to the man. "Not a problem. I have to go back now anyways." She brushed herself off and began walking out of town the way she came. She smiled a lot and kept looking back at the vending man to see if he was alright. It wasn't like she didn't notice his odd fatigued look, and the fact the color seemed to have been drained. This man...he was...different. There was something strange about him, and she felt too relaxed around him. It was an odd sensation, much like when you're too tired to sleep.

"So, where were you headed? Anyplace special?" She wanted to keep the conversation up, but mostly to watch his reactions to her questions. Yumi sighed a bit when she remembered how long of a walk it would be to get back to Costa Del Sol. A day's walk? Maybe a bit more. She couldn't remember, and she was already quite tired. But life demanded such things...and she wanted to do it anyways. "Got any family?"

"I have no reconcilable family left," the man stated. It wasn't a complete lie. Invictus had no known family members, much less ones that were alive. If any did live, they were nothing to him. However, if one were to stretch it, he and Yumi were family members. Invictus was nothing more than a being that harbors the powers of JENOVA and all those with her cells are her children in a sense. If he were a clone of JENOVA then that put him at some sort of biological relation to those who harbor her cells. But that was stretching it, in true biology there were too many varying differences to count them as related.

"As for something interesting..." the man claiming to be Alex stated with a smirk as they walked the path that would lead them to Coast del Sol. "I am seeking out a cavern that is supposed to hold many secrets and treasures," he stated, pointing up to a beaten path that was on the way. "A huge battle took place there and many lost their lives, it's supposed to hold secrets on the Shin-Ra company that they don't want people knowing about... I want to know," he said as they approached the path that forked off of their own towards the spot he mentioned.

"Nothing has been there over a year now, I just want to see if there are any clues I can find... would you like to join me?" Invictus stated, smiling calmly, looking at Yumi in the eyes with his natural charming smile. His body put out a calming vibe, trying to draw her into his wiles. He was trying to make it hard for her to decline, creating a want for her to do it. She could easily say no, but he was trying to make her want to say yes.

Yumi hesitated...something was off about this man. Yet she felt so calm and relaxed. "There can't be anything wrong with him. Must be paranoid or something." She cocked her head a bit and looked up at the mountain...it didn't look special. But then first glance was never enough to fully understand anything. Still she felt this...pull or was it a draw, towards the mountain. "Couldn't hurt to take a look, right?" She smiled and started up the path towards the mountain.

Something was there...or had been there. She felt it...it felt like her imaginary friend Jenova. "Why did that memory resurface? Odd...I don't know if I should be doing this." Yumi hesitated to put her foot down and continue on up the mountain...but it was there again. The pulling sensation, and her body involuntarily began moving up the mountain path.

Small streams of the life stream surfaced along the ground in the form of a liquid-looking gas, almost like a soul. They trailed along the ground around them like a fog, but one couldn't feel it. They couldn't feel, touch and smell it. They could only barely see it. It was the lost souls of those who died here in the battle against Daze. Their souls were trapped for some reason, unable to return to the planet, so they lingered here.

"Somewhat off-putting," the man said with a smile, somewhat being comforted by the lingering souls. He could relate to them in a strange way, as if they were all one. The strange thing about the path was that there was no bodies anywhere. Every single corpse that was nowhere to be seen. It was as if they had gotten on their dead legs and walked away, leaving their souls behind. "We're almost there," the man stated, as they approached the cavern.

Despite being a cave, the inside was illuminating a blue-green color. It was very pretty, something one doesn't see very often. The man posing as Alex hesitated for a moment, stepping forward with vigilance while sending a signal to Yumi through his mental powers to follow very closely. The words, "Stick to his side" would echo in her mind. She could resist them if she truly wanted, but it also might not seem like much of a bad idea.

Inside the cave...

As Alex entered the cave, with or without Yumi, he saw a number of rocky outcrops that caused the light within the cave. They all grew from the ground out of a blue-green liquid in the ground. Is this... Materia? he thought to himself as he walked to the center of the cave, as if something was calling him there. He couldn't quite place his finger on it, but something about this cave was very familiar. Just like in the Shin-Ra tower, when he met JENOVA face to face. Still, he lost control of himself there, he had to figure out why that happened.
