You can't kill the Metal
It was a brand new day for Kitsune Syncreed, for she was close to being in Midgar, the place that she had been born in. While she did have a horrible time in this city, Kitsune figured that she would have to make good memories to drown out the horrible ones that plagued her memory. She knew that it wasn’t going to be that hard of a challenge, since the horrible memories of the past tended to be over trodden by the good ones of the future. However, she also knew that there were some possible bad times in her futures, seeing how she was also here to see her family, which could lead to horrible outcomes if she didn’t handle herself properly. Though, that may prove to be a bit hard, since she was a person that tended to act totally different than anyone else around her.

Moving through the rolling plains by oneself wasn’t usually the best action, especially if you were a woman who didn’t dress herself properly, like Kitsune for example. Wearing some simple cloth that just managed to cover the bad parts on the top half on her body, it was like she was tempting the world to try and take it off. The bottom half of he wasn’t so bad however, for she was wearing some pants that were just cut up the sides, but some could those pants as another challenge, though one that wasn’t shown as clearly. There wasn’t anything else besides the shoes on her feet and the crystal guitar on her back.

While most women wouldn’t think to dress like this, besides sluts and hoes that is, Kitsune didn’t have a problem with this at all. This comes from the fact that for the majority of her young life she was never shown decency, often being tested on and the sort which involved her to be naked. It’s true that most would have the common sense that being naked was wrong even when they were kids, but Kitsune was of a different sort. The different sort that had a massive draconic like being inside of herself. Why that made a difference was because the dragon changed her personality slightly, so that she wouldn’t feel anything like modesty in her life, though she would know what it was, she could dress any way she wanted to without feeling the slightest thing about it.

Kitsune was present of the danger that she accepted when she decided to dress like this, but she figured that she wouldn’t have any problems with whatever may come up. This was because she wasn’t a normal person. Rather, she was a person that could knock out a grown man twice her size with her guitar. The Dragon inside of her had changed her from a normal person, making her stronger and faster when the situation was right. There was also the power of the guitar that she had, while it wasn’t fully developed at the moment, she knew that if she were to make that power stronger she could take people out without having to actually touch them, just play a simple song and they would be bowing out of any fight.

“A beautiful day,” Kitsune said aloud to no one except the world around her. She felt the sun beating on her skin which made it a little hot, but the breeze that came took that heat out of the equation. It was like her body was the only source of heat, since the wind and the sun canceled each other out in her eyes. She watched the grass of the plains sway in the wind, and saw that nature was something beautiful and should be respected. Well, everything except for the monsters that you could find every five steps or so, but Kitsune had been lucky and hadn’t had some random encounter with a monster yet.

“What in the name of God was that?!” Kitsune exclaimed suddenly after she heard a sound, which seemed to be the combination of someone throwing up, burping, and sneezing at the same time, if that was at all possible. Hand on her marvelous crystal guitar, Kitsune scanned the surroundings for whatever made that sound, her instincts telling her that whatever made that sound was bad news, and when her instincts told her something they generally turned out to be correct.

Spotting the creature a stone throw to the right of her, she couldn’t believe her eyes. It was human like, but it would seem that something had taken all of it’s organs and put them on the outside of the body, revealing them to the world. What made it worse was that the thing’s organs were slithering around on the body, making a sort of slurping sound as the traveled across the body. While this horrible abomination of a living thing was starting to make Kitsune sick to her stomach, she didn’t have the feeling that it would hurt her. What she wanted to do was get away from this creature, not fight it. For fighting this creature would involve touching it with something, and Kitsune wouldn’t touch this monster with a one hundred foot pole, it was bad enough that she was even close to the thing in question.

“I would put you out of what I assume is misery, but I don’t want to get your crap on my guitar,” Kitsune said as politely as possible to the creature as she was backing up, wanting to make a hasty retreat from this situation. But, as she turned around, she saw another of the same monster on the other side of her. She had the feeling that things were going to get a lot worse before they even started to look like they were getting better.

“Nice knowing you world, see you in the next life ya?” Kitsune stated, and asked the planet, after she noticed another one of those disgusting creatures, as well as the fact that they were slowly starting to get closer to her. She had no idea how they were going to kill her, but however they did it she was just hoping that it was a quick and painless death, or else she was going to be furious in the last few minutes before she died.

“Well, screw dying,” Kitsune said after the first one was about five feet away from her. She wasn’t just about to let herself die to some monster in this field with no one around. No, she was going to fight for her life, and show the world that she wasn’t ready to become part of it left, she had way too many thing yet to do with this life before he could die, like kill her father for example. But she wasn’t going to be able to get revenge if she didn’t live through this encounter, so she pulled the guitar off from her back and was poised to use it as a club, to bludgeon these creatures to death if she had to.

This act of defiance made the creatures pause for a moment, for they had thought that they had easy prey in their grasps, but things were turning out differently than they had planned the two minutes before they met her. This moment of pause was all the time Kitsune needed to get control of the situation, which was what she desperately wanted to do; wanting to control mostly everything around her was making this situation un-livable in her eyes, since she had no control at all.

“Guitar Swing!” she exclaimed, yelling her attack before she did it. Aiming where she believed the neck of this creature to be, the force of her blow caused the monster to fold around the guitar a bit, before being hit away about three feet away from where it was. It wasn’t much in terms of distance, but it enabled Kitsune to get out of the circle that they had formed to surround her, enabling her to escape from the trap they had laid for her. However, she knew that there was no way that would get them off of her tail so easily, for she knew that monsters tended to keep on going for a person until they were either dead, or they had killed the person that they were going for. It was a brutal cycle, but Kitsune didn’t want to die so she was going to beat off the monsters if it was the last thing she did.

Running for about twenty feet before daring to turn back to the monsters that were following her, Kitsune was trying to think up a plan but she wasn’t getting anywhere on that front. It was a three on one situation, which meant that the odds for Kitsune were horrible. While it was possible to get out of this situation, she didn’t like the fact that she was going to have to do so much just to defeat three monsters. She didn’t like how she was so weak that these three seemingly weak monsters were getting the better of her, it was making her angry. There was always the option of running away, but Kitsune wasn’t a runner, she was a fighter.

Watching with a sly smile on her face as the monsters came at her again, Kitsune had a surprise in store for these things that wanted to attack her. The surprise was in her guitar, the weapon that most would pass off as really odd, but in reality served three purposes. For the first purpose, it was a great club if physical was the way to go in a situation. Secondly, if she played it for a crowd, she found that she could make money off of the sweet melodies it made. Finally, there was the power that was held in the guitar, the power to make things happen with the song. This power was shown to her by the dragon that resided in herself, a technique that was known to Kitsune but she had never actually tried a song out in a real life situation like this one.

Equipping her pick along with her guitar, the best time to learn something was to test it out in the field, like she was going to doing right now. Bringing the pick down the strings once, the air was filled with the melody of a single strum. This wasn’t just a normal strum however; this was a strum of a person with the ability to play magic through an instrument, like Kitsune was doing with the guitar. You could tell that the sound was a lot different than what you would hear out of a normal drum, it was clearer, a better feeling than what you’d get out of a normal guitar. This was the feeling that Kitsune was looking for, the feeling that this power that she had would actually make a difference in a life and death situation.

Focusing within herself, this was necessary for her to learn the technique. Since Kitsune knew that no one in the world would be able to help her with this power, she was going to have to rely on the dragon that resided within herself to give her the technique, to teach her in how to use it. Somehow, the dragon was going to have to translate it from what it would do, to the modern way in which the guitar was used. However, it shouldn’t be that difficult, since Kitsune already knew how to play the guitar she figured that the dragon would combine the two skills and it would be able to adapt the technique. However, this was only her theory, she actually had no idea how this dragon power would work. She just hoped that whatever happened would allow her to escape this place with her life. For Kitsune still had a lot to do in this world, and being killed by monsters in the middle of nowhere was a priority to her.

Letting the power flow through her, Kitsune could see how she could convert this power to song, and then it would be able to affect the monsters that were around her. First playing the song slowly, this caused the monsters that surrounded her to give pause for a second or two, wondering what this woman was doing with the crystal instrument that she held in her hands. Then, as she was able to better transition the power in her head to song, Kitsune started playing the song faster and faster than when she started.

Whoever would hear this song would have a primal feeling well up from within themselves, just like what was happening to the monsters this moment. This was because the song that Kitsune was playing was called the Song of Zalmen, a song that was designed to throw people into madness, essentially turning the people into berserkers. This was really good for getting people to fight among themselves, but not so good if you were by yourself and all of the people that are now in the berserk state are looking right towards you, and most likely planning on fighting you.

To counteract the monsters all coming towards her right away, Kitsune swung her guitar towards the nearest monster. The goal of this venture was to make the monsters attack each other, instead of them attacking her, because she didn’t want to get hurt in this adventure to Midgar. She was lucky that she was able to convert that power into song, or else she would have to beat all of the monsters to death with her guitar, and that was something that she didn’t want her guitar to go through, because she liked it dirty with the blood of her enemies. Rather, she wanted the enemies that she fought to have each other’s bloods on their hands rather than hers.

While she did have the option of watching these monsters fight each other, Kitsune figured that she could spend her time better by actually continuing on her way to Midgar, the place where she had been mutilated in her life. She felt a little grief for the monsters that were fighting behind her as they were killing each other because of her song. Though, it was the rules of survival, and Kitsune was just making sure that she wasn’t the one that was killed this day. If it came down to her or the monsters, she would kill monsters any day.

“Now just to find my bastard of father,” Kitsune said to herself as she went towards Midgar. It was at this place in which Kitsune would be able to repay him for the sins that he had committed against her. Though she wouldn’t know what she would do after that, but it probably involved her going back to Wutai and live there for the rest of her life and help them with their problems, seeing how they were the only ones who had accepted her so far in her life. So, putting her guitar on her back, Kitsune continued on her trip to Midgar, to meet with her father.
