[Not done, but help with any glaring errors so far..] Failed Experiment: Project E.X.E. Appearance: Indistinguishable from Humans. Personality: The experiments conducted on the brain make all participants of Project E.X.E. eccentric, on a good day. A contributing factor to their failure was that while they look human, their integration was foiled when they interacted with the world. They can find mundane things fascinating, and great anomalies boring. Social norms are beyond them. Curiously, they all have child-like good intentions that may go horribly wrong. Some subjects baked cookies so they could make friends. Others pushed scientists out of windows because they wanted to teach them to fly. Background: Project E.X.E. sought to capitalize on the natural electromagnetism of human beings to give them the ability to communicate with technology and manipulate metals. While indeed the goal was met, the inherent personalities of all the subjects due to heightened brain electro activity proved them unable to be trained reliably. All subjects were raised in the lab and have a textbook understanding of the world, besides occasional highly monitored field trips. Traits: Paved With Good Intentions Desc: All participants in the project have a child-like purity in everything they do. Their thoughts are never malicious, despite occasional actions. If they burn a city to the ground, it wasn't some quest for dominance or sadism; they simply wanted to make everyone s'mores. For people who read auras, this can be very confusing. Req: Project E.X.E. Effect: The subject has 100% alignment permanently, regardless of their actions. Cost: 0 Pro and con. Though I have instant access to the most demanding good-related requirements without being a girl scout about it, I'm also shut off from evil and neutral ones forever. I won't mow down civilians all the time, but obviously I don't intend to be the Pope. Enhanced Brainwaves Desc: Increased brain activity makes the subjects more intelligent naturally, and more in tune with machines. They are prodigious with technology. Req: Project E.X.E. Effect: +20 to Intelligence and Machine Operation Cost: 0 Pretty straightforward. I modeled it after the boosts that Clones get, but let me know if a bonus to a skill is an issue. Magnekinesis Desc: The natural electric field around a subject is enhanced greatly, allowing them to move metal and interact with technology mentally. Interaction with another person's technology is treated as Mental Hacking. Req: Project E.X.E. Effect: All normal actions with technology (turning on/off, calling, etc) can be done mentally instead. Moving metals deals with the Intellect stat instead of the Strength stat. Moving equipped items (swords, armor, parts) is subject to Accuracy and Dodge. Help me out on this one. I really want to make this fair. I think you see where I'm going. With an Intellect of 50 I can only move as much metal as someone with 50 Strength could carry. If I wanted to push away someone wearing metal I would have to "lock on" to them. I can block bullets (that are magnetized and not, say, rubber/magic/silver) using Intellect instead of Strength in the Block equation. Unhealthy Attraction Desc: Due to the subjects' electromagnetic field, electricity-based attacks tend to hit their mark more often. Thunderstorms are the bane of their existence. Req: Project E.X.E. Effect: Dodge is reduced by 50% when dealing with electricity-based attacks. Lightning attacks that matter are pretty much always going to hit me. If someone can't hit me at 50% reduced dodge, then the attack must have really sucked anyway. Mental Hacking Desc: The subjects can hack into technology using their minds instead of a wire, but at reduced effectiveness. Req: Project E.X.E., 50 Machine Operation Effect: Wirelessly use the "Hacking" ability, but at 75% reduced numbers. |

Paved sounds good, and you can always get an Ability later on to override it if need be. Enhanced Brainwaves is fine. Magnekinesis is tricky. What is the effective range of it? Also, blocking bullets individually is really difficult, i.e. impossible in our current system. I would recommend rewording it to where an E.X.E. is capable of emitting a field of energy that repels bullets with less than X power or something. Or perhaps having a technique based upon this Trait that does that. I dunno. Unhealthy Attraction, well...it's fine. Just stay the hell away from Nex, haha. For Mental Hacking, is it reduced by 75% to 25% effectiveness, or reduced by 25% to 75% effectiveness? Your wording is somewhat ambiguous. |

Magnekinesis Desc: The natural electric field around a subject is enhanced greatly, allowing them to interact with technology mentally. The subject can send, receive, and interpret digital data, as if they were a computer. Thoughts are transcribed into waves that are sent to computers and interpreted as data, and vice-versa. Interaction with another person's technology is treated as Mental Hacking. Req: Project E.X.E. Effect: All normal actions with electronic technology (turning on/off, operating, etc) can be done mentally instead. I took away the whole bullets thing. And the metal thing entirely. I'm trying to be a human iPhone, sending e-mails and calls with my mind. Mental Hacking Desc: The subjects can hack into technology using their minds instead of a wire. Req: Magnekinesis, 50 Machine Operation Effect: Wirelessly use the "Hacking" ability. Since I'm taking away the metal control thing, hopefully I can hack at full beefiness. >_> Edited by NanoSong, Dec 22 2009, 04:47 PM.

As long as it is understood that you cannot take control of a Machine if your MO is less than the operator's, then I think you're approval-worthy. |

Construction Acuity Desc: Topra's connection with machines allows her to understand their complexities easier, including their construction. With a firm grasp of what she's doing, she can build some parts herself and save Gil by cutting out the "middle man" entirely. Req: Magnekinesis, 60 Machine Operation, 50 Intellect Effect: Machine Parts cost 20% less. A Gasoline Engine costs me 400 instead of 500. But a 100 MO Mithril Base costs me 8,000 instead of 10,000. So you see this only really matters on big projects, or in the long run. o_o Also new appearance.. http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/yy289/Anthems/4a1ddbaff4a1c7b4bd7a037210cf6d8b.jpg (Topra) Though her exact age is unknown, her physical appearance is of late teens or early twenties. She has back-length, layered blonde hair and blue-green eyes. Her build is slim though not at all athletic. Standing at 5'5 and weighing 118 pounds, she is the average size for a woman, if not a little smaller these days. She could blend in a crowd of civilians; Topra carries no weapons, and often wears a grey sweater and generic blue jeans with black boots, or other kinds of generic clothing. The way she walks indicates a lack of fighting capacity. She often walks with a slight bounce and stumbles occasionally, making a face each time. She is perhaps the least intimidating thing on the planet. |

Assuming that Construction Acuity is an Ability, it seems okay to me. Since I am far from an expert on the Machine System and the fairness of abilities pertaining to it, however, I only feel comfortable giving that 1/2 approval. Appearance changes are approved and will be applied momentarily. Also...hey there...*Winks at Topra* :P |
