Jaeza looked at the building in front of her with a bit of triumph in her eyes, her fingers brushing the hilt of the sword at her hip. She'd waited for this day. Since she'd killed her last monster on the Plains she'd been here, in Midgar, gathering information in the slums. Finally at a bar in the slums she'd found the information she'd needed when a fool thought he could take her and lost two of his fingers. A blade at the throat had gotten him talking in a flash. What she'd found had saved the guy from losing his life. There was a Sentry he told her, who was rumored to have the ability to make black flames. It had to be him. She looked up at the apartment complex again. It was one strictly for Shin-Ra employees and of course that meant very nicely made. She looked down at her outfit,a loose leather vest and a pair of baggy denim shorts. Her silver necklace was around her neck like always and she had her leather combat gloves and boots on. Perfect. Dressed to kill. Without delaying anymore she pushed open the front door of the apartment complex and went to the elevator, hitting the button for the third floor. Finding out where this Sentry lived had proved a bit more difficult then finding he was in the city, but she'd gotten it. Smiling she walked down the hall, her hand brushing the hilt of her sword at every step. She'd have her veangence today. This man had taken everything from her. Destroyed her life beyond repair. Traumatized her more then she would ever admit to. She'd gotten strong for this, killed for this, prepared for this for the last ten years. She knew she was about to face her families killer, she was about to be in a fight to the death. She reached the apartment and did the obvious thing to do. She knocked. |

Kira gazed through the window to the afternoon sky, the sun had passed it zenith a couple hours ago but all he was focusing on was the blade he held at the ready before him. He watched as the smooth crystal refracted the sunlight across the walls in a prism of colors, before he closed his eyes and focused on his center. When he opened them, again, he focused his energy into his eyes and the room changed as the color of his eyes changed from black to a light glowing red. His vision expanded from normal out to a 180-degree angle, it was like having eyes on the side of his head. With another effort of will, several small orbs of black fire began to float through the air, flickering with violet streaks. With a small wave of his hand, he sent them in a wide circle around him. Luckily, he had a large living room, which he had more or less turned into a dojo sort of room. It still had its usual living arrangements, couch, TV, dining table, and a large walk out balcony. All the creature comforts Shinra graced its employees with, though Kira’s… was a special case. Without a moments notice he let the sword fly, allowing it to slash through each ball of fire, trying the best he could to keep the sword in constant motion. After every strike, he willed the balls of fire into a faster pace around him, until he could barely keep up. He only stopped when the sweat began to drip from his hair, and the crystalline blade slowly began to blacken. He slammed the point of the blade into the wooden floor where he left it standing upright where it once again began to refract the sunlight across the floor. He let out a long breath to calm his nerves, and he slowly sank into a sitting position where he tried to clear his mind. To sink into a shallow meditation, but before long old memories crept up from his subconscious. The very memories that plagued him in the dead of night, he saw flashes of fire, collapsing buildings and carnage everywhere. Slowly a face drifted up from his nightmares, his silver hair cascading through the fire his grey eyes glaring with satisfaction at what he had done. It made Ryuu mad, his anger rose from deep within and before he noticed it, it had taken a hold of him. His fists clenched so tight it hurt, and a knock at the door came at just the wrong time. “Sephiroth!” he yelled, before he realized it his anger had him wrench up his blade and threw it at the door. With a crash, it sunk about halfway through the door before he realized what had happened. His eyes flashed crimson in an instant so he could glance through the door. He let out a sigh… it had missed her by a decent margin. Thankfully, he was aiming for someone the size of Sephiroth, and she was considerably shorter. Kira steeled his mind back to its usual calm manner, before he made any movements. When he did, he yanked the blade from the door with his left hand and rested it on his shoulder. He then pulled the door open, and looked the unfamiliar woman over with his eyes. She had a sword with her but aside from that, she didn’t seem to have anything dangerous. “Can I help you?” He asked, letting his eyes change quickly back to their normal shade of black before she could notice… |

An instant after she knocked on the door Jaeza heard a scream and sidestepped just as there was a loud crunch and a thick blade punched through the door, the tip right where the top of her head would've been. Instantly her hand flew to the hilt of her own blade. There was another crunching noise and the blade disappeared back into the door which opened. The man who opened it wasn't anything like what she expected. She only remembered a shadowy figure in a sea of flames. The guy had black hair and feminine features that made it impossible to determine his age, and his eyes.....They were red. She watched intently as his eyes faded to black. Those red eyes.... It had to be him. He asked if he could help her and she held back a snarl instead letting her face shift to shocked. 'Um...I don't know. I came on some information a friend of mine gave me, but it might be wrong...." She said, eyeing the blade on his shoulder. It was massive. It didn't mean anything though. His sword was useless if he was dead or his arms were useless." Do you know where i can find a Sentry who can make black fire....?" She asked him shifting nervously. It'd attract attention if she wasn't shaken by the incident a few seconds before so she pretended to be shaken. Eyes slightly wide, staring and a bit of nerve in her voice. Her hands were to her side but at any moment she could grab her sword and sink it into his flesh. "um, if you know where he is could you tell me where? There were some questions i wanted to ask him and i've been looking a while." She told him with a phony nervous smile. she was smiling inside as well. She'd found him. today she got her vengeance. All she needed was a little bit more proof..... |

His gaze relaxed upon the strange woman’s eyes, and for a moment, hers were locked onto his. Kira wondered for a moment if she had noticed his eyes changing color, though he supposed it didn’t matter much if she did. The most it had done so far was scare people into thinking he was some sort of demon. Sure he was sort of an experiment of Shinra’s, but as far as he knew, he was still classed as a human. He was just a human with certain abilities, be it super modified sight, or the ability to control abnormal fire. However, this person was different somehow, and he couldn’t exactly tell what it was. There was just something in the way she reacted to him that made him uncomfortable. (Information from a friend, huh?) He thought, that seemed normal. He had many friends, and acquaintances. Some knew of his abilities, but most didn’t. What she asked next surprised him thoroughly, but he didn’t let a trace of it reflect onto his face. (Well that narrows down the list of people,) he thought, as his mind raced through the small list of people in his head. Who could have let slip his location? Who would be so careless to tread on Shinra’s toes?… did it matter? Certainly not, not now anyways but his interest in this woman grew several fold with that question, and it seemed to continue. Suddenly she seemed on edge, slightly nervous. Did knowing about his abilities scare her? On the other hand, was she nervous for another reason? It wouldn’t be too hard to assume she was unnerved from the instant with his sword, hell he hadn’t even took the time out to explain that it had been an accident. He closed his eyes for a second to clear his mind, there were way too many questions he couldn’t answer and he had to get a hold of himself. As he opened his eyes she finished her growing list of questions, and he did his best to keep his face impassive to the chaos of his own mind. Perhaps letting her continue her questions would allow him to understand her better, but should he reveal his abilities to her?… (Well I guess it can’t hurt,) he thought to himself as he let out a deep breath. “Well I guess you can stop looking,” he said, as he pointed a single finger to the roof. As he concentrated his mark of fire began to glow bright red, and with a spark, a small ember of black fire flickered inches above his finger swirling with shades of violet, and blue. “Now what exactly did you want of me?” He asked, as he leaned in bringing his face inches from hers, only to notice the light shade of turquoise of her eyes. |

At the sight of the black flame Jaeza's memories jumped to the front of her mind. Hiding under her home, listening as her friends and family begged for there lives before smelling cooked flesh, then the heat...... It all came rushing forward so fast her knees nearly buckled as the smell of scorched flesh filled her nostrils again making bile rise in her throat. She took a deep breath to clear the sensations and prevent herself from hyperventilating and when she opened them the man's face was sickeningly close to her own. He asked if there was anything he could do for her and she smiled sweetly, her fingers slowly reaching up and brushing the side of his face as her lef hand gripped the pommel of her sword." Now that you mention it there was something i wanted you to do." She said as her open palm crashed against his forehead, a red glow emenating from it. " Die you bastard!!" She snarled as she let out the magic she'd built up. If someone went by raw magical strength they might assume the spell to be a fira or even a firaga simply for the raw power behind it. The flames surrounded his head for a moment, bright and dazzling before there was a detonation like a cannon and he was flung back into his apartment as if hit by a wrecking ball. Smoothly she entered the room after him, drawing her blade and kicking the door shut in one fluid motion before locking the door and looking at Kira with an evil smile. "I don't know how you ended up with Shin-Ra but I guess it doesn't really matter. I remember you. Red eyes with black flames...... You ruined my life!!!" She told him angrily before her features smoothed back into a smile. " No, It really doesn't matter because i'm going to kill you" She told him as she twirled her blade, the materia imbedded in it glowing and leaving hypnotizing patterns as it arced through the air, quick and deadly. " I'd ask if you had any last words but I really don't want to hear them." She told him as she slowly walked towards where he'd landed. |

Ryuu watched as her eyes opened, all he saw was the troubled emotion deep within their turquoise color. In response to his question, he watched a sweet smile cross the woman’s face while his own remained impassive. Even as her hand brushed his face, but suddenly he felt something wrong. In an instant his eyes light with a crimson light in time to see the magical energies forming in her hand. By the time, she wished him death it was already to late to react as she grabbed a hold of his face. “Aw, shi…” Was all that could be heard before the building rocked with a sudden explosion. He felt the fire sear his skin, and the acrid smell of burning hair filled his nose as his other senses burned in agony. Before he knew it, he found himself flying backward from the resounding concussion wave, as soon as he came to his senses his hands reacted. He struck his giant blade into the ground sending splinters flying as it was dragged through the wooden floor. After that, he flipped himself over with little effort, yanking the blade from the ground as he landed bringing it to a more defensive position. The cool air stung his singed face, and it took a little effort to open his eyes. He watched her movements as she came in and locked the front door; this person was not going to catch him off guard again… He flinched slightly as a particularly painful throb radiated from the burns, and he barely noticed her begin to talk over the ringing in his ears. (Just how did I ruin her life?) He thought to himself, though the rest of what she had to say went un-noticed as his mind raced. That must have been it… since he awoke from his coma and joined the sentry he had been on several missions in their name. Some of them didn’t go to well with the local villagers; it was just his luck he would be the one to be remembered. With a single deep breath, he calmed his nerves, and brought his mind above the pain. “Listen… and listen well. I don’t know who you are, hell, I don’t really care. I’ll give you one chance to sheath that sword and leave,” He said, as he rose to a more dignified stance and with one hand, he pointed the great crystalline blade at the woman, “You won’t catch me off guard again…” |

As Kira rose to his feet Jaeza got a good look at her handiwork and smiled at the sight of Kira on the ground and the smell of ozone and singed hair that hung in the air. This was why' she'd kept the Fire Materia despite the trauma fire revived in her. She was going to get her revenge and make the smell of his flesh burning the thing he ever smelled. He stood across from her and started talking and she listened despite herself. When he threatened her with his huge blade she began to shake lightly and then she started laughing. After a few seconds the laughter died down to a few chuckles and she gestured her sword at him the Materia on her blade glowing brightly as she willed energy into the stone. " By Surprise? You think I need surprise to crush you?" She asked him with a malicious grin. She'd spent the past ten years getting this power and now she was drunk with it, her goal so closely at hand. She laughed giddily and sheathed the blade."Ok, I put the blade away, just like you asked. Now do something for me. Die this time!!" She told him with manic glee on her face as her hand remained on her swords pummel. There was a dull green light shining even though the Materia was covered by the blades sheath. As the spell came together Jaeza began to laugh again. She had so much power at her disposal and she was going to use it all to end this now. She knew the building wouldn't survive it but she didn't really care as she poured all her energy into the stone set at the center of her sword. When the Materia was so charge it was visible through the sheath and the power in it nearly a solid thing she released the spell. For a moment nothing happened and then a superheated column of fire erupted between her and Kira, shattering the floor and letting out an earsplitting roar as it ripped apart the building around it. She was perfectly safe were she was standing as the rest of the apartment complex began to burn and her eyes darted around the smoke in search of the boys corpse. there was no way he could of survived that, she was sure. |

Kira stood on guard with the massive blade before him, and just for good measure he placed his left hand onto the hilt as well. Allowing for better maneuverability, which was already difficult as he was confined within his own apartment. He even remained silent as she spoke, and he watched closely as he noticed the bright glow from the Materia. With a little effort, he even watched as her energy flowed at a constant rate into the little orb, and there was little doubt that she was readying it for another use. He knew little of Materia, when he attempted to use one once he ended up in the emergency room as its energy backfired onto him. He knew they got incredibly stronger as they were used, and he wasn’t sure just how powerful an attack she could create… (It released,) he thought urgently as he watched the magical energy form in the ground before him, as a sudden rush of fire erupted from the ground. The resounding concussion wave was strong enough to cause the building to give way, and knock his sword back into him before flying out of his reach. All he could do was watch as the world around him just faded away. (Bout time,) a voice echoed within his mind, but he was to far gone to notice. His eyes snapped open but in some way they had changed, his usual hardened emotionless stare had given way to a more cynical smile. “Now lets have some fun,” he said, as he flipped in the air and leapt back up using the falling rubble, and mad his way back to his own floor. His mark glowing a bright red as a massive amount of black fire erupted in the air created a maelstrom of fire around his assailant. Kira’s cynical grin turned into a full-blown smile, as he slowly walked around the blazing orb admiring his work. He made sure to leave a cavity inside just enough for her to move around very little, his eyes allowed him to make out most of her silhouette and he slowly circled around behind her. Before, slowly leaning in until his head was just beside her own the his fire barely a warm breeze on his own skin but what would sear another’s, and he slowly wrapped his arms in and around her so he could keep her from moving. “Well its been a long time hasn‘t it,” he said to her, his voice sounding shockingly intimate, “Last time I saw you… was when I put those poor pathetic humans out of their misery… traveling from place to place hoping to make a decent living.” He paused long enough, to let out another intimate sounding laugh. “Their screams of pain were pleasure to my ears,” he said, taking time enough to take a deep breath and to place one palm upon her face in a caring sort of way. “I even let you live so you could enjoy some of the deeper pleasures in life, strength… power… revenge… Though I can’t let you to hurt my Kira, he and I have something to accomplish,” He said in a loving way, his voice becoming stern when Kira was mentioned. “So how about, you calm down…hmm,” He said, he ran a fingernail along her chest just below her collarbone leaving a line of blood as it went. As she began to bleed, the blood snaked into several demonic like runes, before glowing brightly and burning into her skin. What would come next would be music to his ears, and he released her and the maelstrom around them so there wouldn’t be anything to get in the way of his pleasure. Jaeza looked around the room, or what was left of it. She had definitely gone all out. She looked around but didn't see Kira's body. Her hand tightened around the sword. It was possible she'd incinerated him but it wasn't likely and if he wasn't with her that meant he was out of sight, he could be anywhere. She kept her blade at the ready , her eyes focused for any flicker of movement. What happened next she could have expected. A storm of black flames surrounded her and she screamed a loud mindless sound. The fire stopped only inches from her skin and she felt the heat. She began to shake as her memories poured into her mind and she smell of burnt meat and singed hair filled her nostrils again making her gag. A moment she was grabbed from behind and she could only stand there shaking as the demon laughed at her. "Knew....Knew it." She mumbled a her eyes darted around the flames, wide and terrified. She tried to struggle against his grip but immediately burned herself on the black flame surrounding her. If she fought back she would die. She listened silently and as the demon finished her eyes went wide as she realized what he'd said. The boy she'd attacked hadn't been faking. He had no idea the monster that lurked under his skin. He didn't have any idea how badly the thing inside him would destroy him. A moment later she let out a gasp as the demon scratched her with his nails hard enough to draw blood. The scratch didn't hurt but as the wound bled she felt fire spread over her neck. she clawed at the band of heat around her neck, singing her arms in the process before the demon released the firestorm and she fell to her knees in front of him, her sword hitting the floor with a clatter. As the fire vanished she began to breath normally again and she steadied as she did. She looked up at the demon with utter hatred. "Did you think a petty trick would stop me? You should have killed me!!" She told him as she picked her blade up and lept at him with a single fluid motion. The instant she began to swing the blade at his neck her entire body erupted in pain. Every nerve in her body screamed as if they were on fire and she screamed as the pain became to much and she blacked out at Kira's feet. The last thing she saw was the boys eyes change from red to black before blackness itself settled over her vision. |

Kyu shook off the chills that ran up his spine from the woman’s terror and pain. He closed his eyes and inhaled the last remnants of his fire’s heat calming the last of the excitements effects. When he opened them, again they fell upon her face contorted in rage and hatred and the chills threatened to return. He loved it when human’s showed their hatred, to him it was amusing. Humans did so many amusing things under the influence of its spell, they abused, tortured, and even killed to sooth it’s rage within their hearts. When she spoke he could even hear it in her voice forcing him to smirk at her pathetic threats, she could no longer harm him. He didn’t even flinch when she tried, as the blade came uncomfortably close to slashing through his throat before stopping dead. He saw the rage shift into agony in a blink of an eye, and he forced back the chills of her screams as she fell to the ground. He knelt down and caressed her jaw; “Now why would I kill you?” he said cocking his head slightly, “I would never want to snuff out a scream like yours, its music to my ears.” He smiled as he realized it was pointless to keep this up any longer, he wasn’t going to get anymore enjoyment out of her right now. He slowly released the grip he had on Kira’s mind, and he felt the darkness close in on him as he returned to his slumber. (Huh? What the…) Kira thought, slowly opening his eyes before snapping them shut as the light caused his already aching head to pound. He slowly moved his hand over his face, before stopping to pinch the bridge of his nose in an attempt to stop the pounding. What happened? Why did parts of his body feel raw as if burned? What happened to that woman? He suddenly sat bolt upright before cursing from the pain in his head. Slowly he forced his head open to look at the carnage of his apartment, “Tch, I told them not to give me an apartment with a gas stove… How many times will it take before they learn,” he muttered as he started to rest his face in his hand. Suddenly he noticed the lifeless body on the ground before him. It was the person who attacked him, and a sudden cracking sound above him gave him rightful reason to want out of the now structurally unsound building. He slowly got to his feet, his body screaming in detest. “What the hell am I supposed to do with you,” he said to the motionless woman, checking quickly that she was still breathing, and alive. However, at that moment, the floor beneath them buckled, and he moved to pick her up. “Pretty light for a guy aren’t ya,” he said, as he leapt into the air leaving the floor beneath him to fall causing the rest of the building to do so as well. “Damn it, how in the hell am I supposed to explain this one…” Kira asked himself, as he looked at the rubble from the ground before moving to prop the Jaeza against a large piece of rubble that was blown outward earlier. A flash off to his side caught his eye, and he suddenly recognized the smooth curving of his buster sword. “Damn what a freaking day,” he said as he shifted a slab of concrete to grab a hold of his blade before slamming it into the ground and propping himself against it… How was he going to explain this? |

Jaeza came to slowly, her senses coming back in layers. First came hearing, followed by touch, smell, taste and finally sight. She opened her eyes and found herself propped up against some rubble . She didn't bother trying to move, her muscles burned and a dull throb reverberated throughout her entire body. She stared ahead of herself a few seconds before moving her neck slightly towards Kira, wincing from the pain the motion caused. She remained motionless for a few moments before pushing herself back up against the rubble a bit more tightly, nearly blacking out again from the agony the simple motion caused. What the hell had he done to her? "Son of a bitch" She said softly, looking at Kira. The demon wasn't in front of her. She didn't know what'd happened to it in the time she'd been training but whatever had happened had forced it into the boy in front of her.She wondered if he knew he harbored such a vile thing in his body and that gave him his gifts. She didn't really care. He might've been a boy but he was also the demon who'd murdered her family. Besides, he worked for Shin-Ra. Most of their employees were dangerous in some from or another. So what if one was suddenly found in an alley with his face melted, or burned from the inside out? She looked around for her sword but couldn't find it. Chances were it was still in his apartment. She moved a bit and the pain wasn't as bad, her neck burned and she felt at it, surprised to feel the runelike indentations that'd been burned out of her neck.At once fear mixed with her anger. She picked up a rock off the ground and without thinking threw it at Kira's head. She watched as the rock seemed to connect and braced herself for pain. It came, but not badly, a blanket of flames over her skin rather then coals in her body. She stared at him with empty eyes as she realized what was going on. She couldn't kill him. She literally couldn't bring herself to kill him. She was devestated. Her reason for living, killing him was only feet away and she couldn't do a damn thing about it. She stood, letting out a hiss as her muscles burned in protest. "I'm going to get my sword and then i'm going to kill you" She told him angrily, jumping back into the inferno above to grab her sword. The metal reassured her, so did the Materia. There had to be a way around this. She'd kill him. |

Kira sat watching the clouds go by as he waited for the woman to come to, every now and then he glanced her way to see if she stirred. However, as time wore on he began to notice sleeps darkness closing in around the edges of his vision, before long he slid into a restless sleep. Suddenly he was standing beneath a dark cloudy sky as a small battalion of soldier closed in at a rapid pace, by the maroon of their uniforms; he suspected them to be second-class. Along with a few remaining third class soldiers, apparently survivors from the first onslaught against him whom he had enjoyed incinerated. "So haven't had enough?" he said laughing, his voice demonic and his laugh cold yet somehow intimate as he enjoyed toying with them, "then ill just take care of you all at once." Nevertheless, he began to grow bored with their persistence. Therefore, he slowly raised one clawed hand and with one swift sweep of his arm, he turned the battlefield into a whirling inferno, and he listened as their screams of agony filled his ears. To him it was like a symphony of delight and he began to lose himself in it every renewed shriek of pain sent a small chill down his spine. He kept up the inferno until the only sound that was left was the roaring of his fire. With another quick sweep of his hand, the fire began to disbursed, leaving behind the acrid smell of burnt flesh. As he inhaled the horrid aroma he felt his excitement renewed, to him it was as sweet as a flower. A sudden flash of silver snapped him to his senses, and after a moment, his glowing re gaze fell upon a black clad silver haired man. His calm face enraged him but before he could do anything, he felt the man's blade cut into his midsection. Kira's eyes snapped open as a blunt force crashed into his chest, for a moment Kira's mind was a jumbled mess as he tried to decipher what had been dream from was reality. The dream was very vivid but he was familiar with it and it didn't take to long to come to his senses. The dream had plagued his Sleep for a while now, though that didn't explain the pain he felt now. Though as he looked down to the large rock in his lap reality came rushing back to him. He remembered the strange woman who had attacked him earlier, and he noticed now that she wasn't where he left her. His hand found the hilt of his sword easily enough as he jumped to his feet his eyes darting back and forth searching for Jaeza. His eyes flashed a bright crimson, and his vision expanded by a wide margin. After that finding, her was easy as he glimpsed her off to the side leaping back into the crumbling building he had just rescued her from, making him wish he had never attempted in the first place. "Tch, it’s about time you explain..." he said to himself as he glared up through the crumbling floors. He knelt down and rested his buster blade onto his shoulder before leaping into the air. Once he landed, he willed every last flicker of fire in the apartment into his command. Lifting it from the burning surroundings turning it black as his magic controlled it. He then sent it to whirl around them both, and he brought his blade within inches of the back Jaeza's head. "Ok You tell me who the hell are you, and just what is your problem?" Kira asked forcibly, his grip tightening on the blade's hilt. His focus slowly slid through her to examine the blade she held on her other side, reassuring himself that she hadn't activated the Materia within it. "And before you try to activate that thing. I can see every fluctuation of magical energy within you, and if I see even a slight change in its flow I'll end it here and now," he said, willing the whirling fire closer to emphasis his point... "Sure. Names Jaeza" She told him as she felt the sword hovering near her neck." My problem is when i was about five years old something with red eyes that could make black flames burned my family alive right in front of me." She told him calmly " My problem is that i spent every day after I watched my family burned alive trying to get strong enough to kill the thing that did it. My problem is that i finally found a guy with red eyes who could make black flames and i can't kill him." She told him with her voice full of malice., gripping the hilt of her blade tightly as anger coursed through her. " By the way did you think just because i can use magic the swords for show? "she asked him maliciously. Fast as she could she spun to face the man, her blade black his sword as her foot lashed out to viciously kicked him in the gut. As the hit connected she felt a deep satisfaction before falling to her back, dropping her sword and clawing at her neck as the blood red runes glowed fiery orange. Her vision dimmed and she blinked just in time to see the cloud of fire moving towards her, swirling around her and nearly engulfing her. She rolled backwards and up to her feet but not before the black flames grazed her shirt , the fire burning through the material quickly. Without anything else she could do she unzipped the shirt and threw it at Kira, throwing a spell at the boys feet and burning the floor. before sliding quickly across the floor and kicking his feet out from under him. "Anything else you'd like to know? " she asked taking a couple of deep breaths and picking her sword back up. Edited by Haine, May 22 2010, 02:09 PM.
