1. Be nice and such. Pretty standard. If you got a problem with someone, you can shoot a private message to a staff member, or a whisper if we're in-game. Don't be trolling, don't post offensive things, etc. Nothing sexist, racist, or any other kind of discriminatory.

2. Try to stay on topic. Some derailment is bound to happen, and that's okay. But, if a topic is about best strategies for a warrior, and then veers off into a discussion about the history of 18th century pirates, while that would be interesting, it's too much of a derailment.

3. Try to avoid one-word or one-picture posts. If a trend is noticed, you will be warned, though one or two times every once in a great while isn't a big deal.

4. Please use English on the boards, and make the attempt to use proper grammar. I admit, I am something of a grammar Nazi. It just makes it easier to, at the very least, use commas and periods. Also, break up large Walls of Text. While I'm all in favor of diversity, this is still an English-based board. You can speak in any language you'd like in PMs though.

5. Use some thought when you make a post or a topic, and please, do not spam.

6. Please do not bump topics, and don't necro topics. If you do, I will roll a Lawful Anal paladin and smite you in Pelor's favor (props to those who know what I'm talking about).

7. Respect the staff and their decisions. If you got a problem with one, you can come talk to me. If you go around, belittling them or their decisions on the forum, I will not be taking your side, unless you are damn convincing.

8. Please do not make debate topics (topics about politics, religion, etc) as, being quite avid of such topics myself, I am wary of such topics going up in flames and causing unnecessary tensions. Certain topics in this regard, if it seems like something relatively non-controversial or with a low chance of flaming, may be allowed but closely monitored while active, though it is up to our (the staff's) discretion.

9. Ladies, and guys, if someone is hitting on you, and you don't like it, you can come to me and I will take care of it. And I expect the same seriousness from my staff, as well.

10. Don't be spamming emoticons. Seriously, it's annoying.

Rules may be added as time goes on, but I expect most of you to use some sense and etiquette when making a post or topic. We, the staff, reserve the right to delete any topic, if we feel there is probable cause for doing so, and the right to ban anyone under the same standard.

And we admins reserve the right to promote, demote, or remove any moderator or person of position if we feel it is necessary.

Addendum: Guild promotion. Please, we would prefer you don't go around promoting the guild openly without permission. You can mention to friends if you want, but don't go randomly whisper-spamming people about it either. It's not good for our image, and it can be rather annoying. If you want to help promote the guild, ask one of the staff first.

Staff Ranks
I, the Guildmaster, and Fluff, the Steward, are both admins. Global Moderators are the Dignitaries. And Moderators are the Officials.

Senior Members have access to a forum that only they and staff can access. Rules are a bit more lax in this section, and debate topics are allowed in here. The reasoning being that, having been around for a while, and as such, are given more personal responsibility with higher expectations of appropriate behavior in regards to such topics.

Black Mage: Okay Red Mage, enlighten us. How can a plan that makes no sense work?
Red Mage: One simple reason: It makes too little sense to fail.
BM: What.
RM: Most plans are critically flawed by their own logic. A failure at any step will ruin everything after it. That's just basic cause and effect. It's easy for a good plan to fall apart. Therefore, a plan that has no attachment to logic cannot be stopped. The success or failure of any step will have no effect on the macro level.
BM: That's so stupid I can't even see straight anymore.
RM: Now imagine what'll happen when physics tries to figure it out!
