Welcome to the home of the Cidersmiths. Perhaps you are here out of curiosity, or even looking to join? Well then, if I may... TL;DR: Welcome! Enjoy yourself here, we try to be both mature but also fun at heart. While not overly competitive, we do want to participate in events both in the guild and among other guilds. If you wish to join, please register on the forum, and you may introduce yourself at the Garrison if you'd like! If you aren't playing the games we are interested in, we still welcome you to join our forum and our guild! Why did I choose the name, "Cidersmiths"? If you are unaware, cider is an alcoholic beverage made from apples. And a smith is someone who crafts, as I'm sure you are aware. The name, Cidersmith, has a seriousness to it, but it also has a kind of playfulness. It is representative of the guild I wish to birth and oversee. One that embraces both a seriousness of maturity, but not without losing that inner child. Some guilds may be fierce, competitive, out to conquer the world, so to speak. That is not what I have in mind. While, certainly, I hope we may be well-involved in our games, both with and opposing others out of friendly competition of equals, do not forget to enjoy the journey, for the destination is not always so important. Our focus is on a community-based model. Everyone in our guild is your brother and sister. We are all here for the same reason, to enjoy the game, and we should all use that to bridge us together! That is at the heart of the Cidersmiths! However, do not think that we allow an "anything goes" attitude. We still expect an appreciation and practice of maturity both in our forums and in-game. While everyone gets upset and snappy at times, for we are all human (unless you're not, in which case, what are you!?), we do not appreciate nor will we tolerate behavior that is inflammatory or especially offensive to others. What do I mean by especially offensive? Well, let us say that we will not take action simply because who you are might make another uncomfortable. If you are gay, and someone within our membership is uncomfortable with that, we will take no action against either party, lest it becomes a serious issue of contention and flaming. I expect all my staff to cooperate as such regardless of personal belief, and all members to take example from that. Special exceptions may be made for special cases, though to be frank, I do not think any such case will come along. This is simply as a precautionary measure, in case such an event does occur, or a person joins of an especially unsavory affiliation that we do not wish to have within our community. Well, with all that out of the way, and thank you for reading, if you wish to join our guild, please head over to the Garrison and fill out an application. Good tidings be with you! - Nekowolf Founder, king, Glorious Leader, P.S. About the future of this forum - depending on how our guild turns out, whether or not it becomes fairly popular and lively (which is my hope), in the future, I will look into building a more professional forum with software rather than a hosting service like this one. However, I want to see how things roll out first as it would be pricy. |

Black Mage: Okay Red Mage, enlighten us. How can a plan that makes no sense work? Red Mage: One simple reason: It makes too little sense to fail. BM: What. RM: Most plans are critically flawed by their own logic. A failure at any step will ruin everything after it. That's just basic cause and effect. It's easy for a good plan to fall apart. Therefore, a plan that has no attachment to logic cannot be stopped. The success or failure of any step will have no effect on the macro level. BM: That's so stupid I can't even see straight anymore. RM: Now imagine what'll happen when physics tries to figure it out! - 8 Bit Theater | |
