Before time was conceived of, before any now here lived, there lived the mighty Magician and his twelve righteous children. Then, even as now, there was an opposition in all things, and just as the Magician was a being of pure light, knowing only of happiness and truth, there also lived a being of darkness, wanting only for destruction. That being was the dreaded Enotica, destroyer of worlds.

Out of a desire to protect the young races of creation, the Magician forged a sword, imbuing it with the Magic of Truth, and, with this sword, he challenged Enotica to a duel. Drawing his own, dark blade, Enotica accepted the challenge with a laugh. When the two blades clashed, night became day. The battle was intense, the blades clashed and spells flew, neither backed down. After endless hours, the Magician finally cast his greatest spell, the Barrier of Justice, and, by using his own immense power to sustain it, confined Enotica behind a wall of pure truth.

But, he knew that it wouldn’t contain Enotica for long, as it was linked to his own life force. Therefore, in order to protect the fledgling races after his death, the Magician began to train his twelve children in both the ways of the sword and the ways of magic, teaching them, both by example and by lesson, to be strong in the battle against evil and to protect those races who could not defend themselves. During this time, he forged the twelve Great Rings, imbuing each of them with a portion of his magic and then giving them to his twelve children.

It wasn’t long after the forging of the Great Rings that the Magician died, and the Barrier of Justice along with him. After being released, Enotica summoned his demon minions to him and began an assault on the Magician’s home. As Enotica’s forces were approaching, Unekachu and his siblings took their rings and invoked the powers, and braced themselves for the fight that was to begin. The battle that ensued was fierce, blades clashed and spells exploded all around. The once lush plains that surrounded the Magician’s Palace had become a desert, the bodies of demons strewn across the ground. Seeing his forces destroyed, Enotica retreated, vowing that, one day, he would defeat the power of the Great Rings. Taking up his father’s sword, Unekachu pursued Enotica, only to be defeated in the end. Using his last breath, he sent the Ring of the Hawk to his only son, Omekacha, ensuring that the legacy would survive.

After receiving his father’s ring, Omekacha vowed vengeance against Enotica. After reviewing his grandfather’s records about his battle against Enotica, he went in search of the Cave of Black Diamonds, the only place in creation that black diamonds, mystical gems said to have the power to control time itself, could be found. The search was long and difficult, but he eventually found the cave. Inside, he found a suit of armor, forged out of the diamonds and imbued with great magic. Donning the armor, Omekacha went in search of Enotica, traveling across the stars in the Starhawk Esken, once a faithful companion of the Magician, it had been transformed to act as a guide and companion to all those who would wear the Ring of the Hawk.

Omekacha eventually found Enotica and fought him toe-to-toe, just like his father did before him. The fighting was fierce, lasting for many days, but Omekacha eventually defeated Enotica, slaying him as Enotica had his father, but the battle took a great toll on Omekacha and he knew that the end of his time wielding the Ring of the Hawk was nigh at hand. Knowing that Enotica’s surviving minions were already beginning preparations for his revival, and being the last of the Magician’s valiant line, Omekacha used the last bits of his magic, combined with the power of the other eleven rings, to fling himself through time, in search of the next being who could call on the ring’s immense might.
