Not happy with the way Force Awakens and Last Jedi told the story of the Star Wars Universe? Then come join us and help shape that story. Create new ones and help enrich the galaxy far far away that we all love!

Welcome to Star Wars Conflicts Resurgence. We hope you enjoy your visit.

The year...is 5 ABY. It has been a year since the Battle of Endor and the galaxy remains largely at war. The REBEL ALLIANCE has reformed itself as the NEW REPUBLIC, based on Chandrila, and has continued to pursue the shattered remnants of the GALACTIC EMPIRE. The EMPIRE in turn has begun digging in at key star systems in an attempt to hold off the fledgling REPUBLIC.

All the while the REPUBLIC and the EMPIRE wage their war, countless systems are going their own way and making their own stand, independent from the two major powers and each other. This has given rise to new governments who are trying to stake their own claim in the galaxy. In addition to all this, elements of the EMPIRE are fragmenting from the whole, digging in their home territories in defiance to the central command, causing further disruption to the galaxy.

During this time, LUKE SKYWALKER has begun to wander the galaxy in search of other Force-users in an attempt to revive the JEDI ORDER. He intends to gather them at Yavin 4 to train them. Meanwhile, darkness lies in the shadows, as former agents of the Emperor scramble to establish themselves as the new DARK LORD OF THE SITH.

YOU have a choice. Will you lead troops and ships in battle, or pick up a lightsaber and fight for either good or evil? Or are you the fiercely independent type and wish to go the way of the smuggler or pirate? No matter what, the choice is yours.

The Galaxy is RESURGENT.

Prepare for CONFLICT.

Kilala ran through the jungle of Yavin 4 at top speed. She was running in fear though, she was running for the simple joy of it. She Force-leaped into the branches and started leaping from branch to branch, keeping herself balanced with her own natural talents and experience. This was where she felt most at home. The jungle was a little more humid and was warmer than Dathomir, but it was close enough to where she could wear her traditional leathers with no discomfort.

She flew past Woolamanders and Runyips as she leaped through the trees. Kilala even came across some Stintaril lurking in the upper levels of the trees. The disruption to their nest caused them to follow her. She just kept running, stretched out with the Force, and compelled the vines to wrap around the legs of those disgusting rodents. While the stintarils worked to chew through the vines, Kilala slipped away. By the Dreaming River, she loved to run through the jungle...

Kilala kept leaping through the branches of the jungle for nearly an hour. After that time, she reached a clearing with a small lake. Along the beach side, she sat down and drank from her water container. After a few minutes of letting her heart rate go down and her muscles to rest, she got up and tugged at the string around her waist. The string released the belt-like appendage that holds her quarterstaff to her back. She grabbed it with both hands and assumed the standard combat form for using a lightsaber.

She had never made a lightsaber, despite urging from Master Skywalker. Her background kept her from really liking the traditional Jedi weapon. Kilala had tried out Skywalker's lightsaber and immediately hated it. It was too light, completely throwing off her sense of how much power she needed to swing it. Also, it lacked the tactile feedback she was used to during combat. She much preferred using her own staff made from a Rancor's bone, which had served her for several years before Luke found her.

Kilala began her combat regime. She immediately began going through the three rings of defense. She worked through the Inner Ring first, focusing on blocks and parries while filling her staff with Force energy. She then quickly moved into the Middle Ring, guarding against imagined blaster bolts and occasionally boosting her reflexes to seemingly block just a little faster. She then moved to the high guards and powerful sweeps of the Outer Ring. She continued through these exercises, alternating the forms and moving in and out of the rings in order to give her the feel of combat where anything is possible.

All the while, she kept her Force awareness up, stretching it out so that she was aware of nearly everything within twenty meters of her, just in case a swarm of pirahna beetles decided she would make a tasty meal, or if one of the other newly minted knights or recently arrived apprentices decided to follow her out here...

Dushall was also in the forest not to run or exercise but to re-center himself. He had just returned from a mission tracking down and recovering a Senators kidnapped daughter. The path that he took to accomplish such missions always tainted his spirit. He found that distancing himself from others upon his arrival and realigning his spirit in the force helped to ease his tension.

From his rock he could see without opening up his eyes. The force truly flowed through everything around him. It was said that everyone saw the presence of the Force differently. To him it was as if the air was colored with a dye. It flowed around and through everything as if it wasn't there. When he had encountered a dark force user the force around him was dyed red as blood. As he moved his presence tainted the waves around him. It was the opposite when he was around jedi, the force lightened and got brighter. When he met Luke his presence was blinding if you could have seen it with your own eyes.

Sitting he focused on his own force presence. As if he was a parent looking for bugs in a child's hair he sorted through himself searching out any and all blemishes that tainted his force presence. To him this focus was a routine as taking a shower, a daily exercise to purify ones spirit. These blemishes were due in part to his questionable methods of completing missions. Most of his missions would cause certain people to question themselves and eventually to fall to the dark side. Master Skywalker saw the strength and conviction inside of him and trusted him to not fall.

When he was done focusing on himself he looked outward to the rest of the forest around him. He felt the critters in the trees and the fish in the streams. Behind him he felt a small insect colony working diligently for its queen. Each drone with a single thought and purpose, serve. As he focused on everything and on nothing at the same time he decided to exercise his force powers. He felt and grasped several boulders the size of a wampa and urged the wave of force energy up into a geyser under them.

Once all the boulders were lifted and floating in the air he directed to force to send a geyser of energy below him. As he sat the force lifted him up and he was in the center of a ring of boulders all floating in the air.

Kilala felt the surge of force energy race through the jungle. She immediately stopped her exercises and turned towards the source of the surge. She felt...turmoil. Yes, that was the word to describe it. Turmoil. It struck as if pain and guilt was oozing into the Force. The outpouring made her fill with emotion and her tears began to water. It triggered a maternal-like instinct she was unfamiliar with. She wanted to heal the wound.

Kilala strapped her quarterstaff to her back and took off back into the jungle. She followed the stain through the forest until she came to a clearing. In the clearing was a one of her fellow Jedi, a man named Dushall. He was hovering in the air surrounded by a ring of boulders. Despite herself, she was impressed. She rarely saw such impressive displays of power, aside from Master Skywalker. She just stood there and watched, waiting for him to finish whatever exercise he was doing.

Dushall let the force wash over him. He let the waves envelope him and penetrate him. As he opened himself up to it he felt the pains of his last mission fade away into nothingness. The taint on his force presence was removed.

Like a muscle he felt that the forced needed to be exexcised routinley. His view was that the forced was to be called upon only when needed and used sparingly. With the exception of testing oneself, and daily workouts, he hardly called upon the force to complete normal task. Much like a lightsaber a Jedi should not be quick to draw it.

He was still levitating the boulders until he started to feel a wave rush towards him. In his time with the Jedi on Yavin he made it a priority to recognize the presence of each individual. The presence that was makings waves towards him was Kilala, a young human female Jedi Knight.

With his back to her he let the boulders return to their positions and quelled the waves of the Force that were holding him in the air. Slowly he was lowered to the ground until once again he was sitting cross legged. "Is there something I could do for you Knight Ten?" Dushall asked as his eyes were closed still focusing on everything and nothing in the force.

She gave Dushall a little smile as he descended and said, "Nothing. I just felt a small surge of turmoil and I came to see if I could help at all." Kilala knew a thing or two about turmoil. Dathomir was a wild world in even its most civilized regions and that was without the threat of the Nightsisters. She lived in a whirlwind of turmoil for so long that even as a Jedi she was a little suspicious of anyone who didn't have a little turmoil in them.

"Rough mission? Meditation does work fine, but I find a good run or sparring match can work just as well. Plus you get all that lovely exercise on top of it." She was testing him, just a little bit. Kilala was curious as to whether or not he could take advice or if he was just that confident in his own decision making skills. His response would help her make her own opinion about him.

She knew pain and guilt all too well. Kilala had been forced to kill her own mother after all. That was as close to the dark side as she had ever gotten, but she had never looked back from that moment. Her mother had been a Nightsister and was hurting countless others. She had needed to be stopped...

Kilala mentally shook herself out of her memories. She wasn't here to deal with her own problems, she was here to try and help Dushall, if he'd let her.

Dushall took in her words and contemplated the underlining mesaage. "Every mission is rough in its own way and everyone does what they must to re-center themselves. What works for one may not work for another." He could feel a change in the waves around her, "I have always felt that you remedy the physical with physical and the spiritual with the spiritual but since both are tied together I see what you are getting at."

He stood and faced the young Jedi with his hands open, shifting his weight to give him better balance. "What will it be then?"

Kilala could see where he was coming from. Meditation never came naturally from her, but it does for the other knights and most of the apprentices. But a Jedi should be willing to explore all available options. She raised a slightly withering eyebrow and replied, "I'm game if you are? A little exercise never killed anyone." She pulled the string on her waist, releasing her staff. With a slight twirl of the staff, she planted in down on the ground in front of her and took up a slight defense position.

"Tell you what? I win: you help me with a project. You win: I'll give meditation a serious try. Game?"

Kilala knew enough about his history that he was skilled with a lightsaber, but she had spent her entire life learning how to defend herself as well. Fighting was second-nature to her, with or without the Force. She figured it would be about fifty-fifty whether either of them would win. She opened herself to the Force and pulled energy into the staff, prepping it for a fight. Kilala also opened up her awareness to cover the entire clearing.

Dushall kept his Saber at his side and instead chose to fight with his hands, for the moment at least. When he had served the Republic he chose to rely on his human skill more then his force abilities. He had passed the Republic Special forces school solely of his own capabilities and it was something he was proud of. In the rare instances he did recall on his force abilities he found that his capabilities increased exponentially.

He let his body go limp in a relaxed state aso his hands drifted in front of him. His body moved as the waves of a ocean. His senses became heightened and his awareness of his surroundings were hightened. "I think we can help each other without bets Knight Ten."

He knew about the Jedi Knights upbringing and also knew a little about her home planet. Out of the few Jedi now serving or even learning at the Academy, she had the hardest upbringing. Defeating her would prove a challenge for any but Master Skywalker. "Ladies first." Dushall said as he smirked at her.

Kilala gave him a withering stare, "Call me Kilala." She couldn't help but feel that he was humoring her, that was never a good idea. Humoring Kilala was a good way to get a number of bruises. At first it was to make others take her seriously, but since becoming a Jedi, her reasoning changed to making apprentices and even some of the amateur knights to never underestimate a situation. She then began what was to her the closest thing to meditation. All the thoughts and emotions she was feeling in the moment, she drew into herself and used them as a shield. Her matriarch and Master Skywalker had told her this caused her to feel like a hurricane, with her core self serving as the eye. This made it difficult for others to get an accurate read on her intentions. She had used this to defeat several Nightsisters on Dathomir, and was confident it would work fairly well with him.

She lifted her left heel and slammed it back to the ground, sending a Force Push through the ground towards Dushall. She then willed the air currents traveling through the clearing to form a small tornado that she pushed towards him. She then leaped without the Force and took a swing with her quarterstaff, holding onto one end so her striking end would gain more power. However, she maintained her awareness of the area, trying to anticipate his counter-move.

Dushall felt the waves churning in the force it looked as if a whirlpool was surrounding her and draining into her. She was calling on the force and pulling it deep into her where not even he could see. However he didn't need to anticipate her thoughts all he needed to do was focus on his surroundings. See nothing but see everything. Was the saying that his master drilled into him.

Milliseconds of warning he saw the force push coming. A typical starting move. His arms crossed and his knees bent effectively lowering his center of gravity and protecting himself all at once as the wave of force energy moved and dissipated around him. All her effort did was to slide him back a couple inches.

The next move was less expected and just proved her resourcefulness even more as the force tornado or what he saw as a cyclone sped toward him. From his now crouched position he jumped at a angle that allowed the energy of force cyclone to propel him toward his opponet. Spinning along the side of it towards his opponet. As he landed he saw her swing with the staff and dodged by splitting his legs and falling to the ground.

Quickly laying on his back he spun his legs around trying to trip her. After completing a whirlwind spin of 360 degree fury his legs ended up underneath him and heventually left up with a uppercut. Landing he was back in his fighting stance hands in front with his knees bent facing Kilala. "I see you are true to your Dathomir roots, Kiala."

Kilala was able to leap over his spinning kicks but was unprepared for the uppercut, which did connect with her chin. However, she was able to absorb some of the kinetic energy and used it to Force Leap out of his reach. As she somersaulted through the air, she threw her staff in between two thick branches of a tree where it stuck. As she returned to the ground she extended her limbs and landed on all fours. The young Jedi worked her jaw a little and determined that while it'll hurt for a while there was no real damage.

Kilala smiled at Dushall's comment about her Dathomiri roots. "Of course, roots are what allows trees to stand against the most terrible of storms." She then intensified her stare at him, sending disruptive waves of Force energy towards, all with the intent of reducing his awareness of his surroundings and making his responses sluggish. This tactic had always served her well back home, against the wilderness and nightsisters alike. Then she raced towards him and unleashed a rapid combination of hooks and crosses, all intended to distract and overwhelm. When Kilala felt he was at overstretch, she threw in a low kick towards his thigh. And as possible impact came close, she unleashed a Force Push from her knee towards his torso.

Dushall felt the waves of force she was sending him it did effect his force sense effectively covering him in what he saw as a fog or murky water. He wasn't totally weakened. His years of martial training with the members of the Republic Special forces had honed his natural skill, agility and strength. In fact he was tr he first recorded human to have beaten a wookie in hand to hand combat. A record that is now in question since he was found out as a Jedi but he still values because he knew that he did not use the force at all.

Using his eyes and natural senses to focus on the Jedi in front of him he saw the twitch of her muscles that told him she was coming in for the attack. Finding his center and controlling his breath he prepared for the coming assualt. Her hooks and crosses came with a fury worthy of the Dathomir name. Blocking his arms twisted and moved as he brought his arms up and down in an effort to deflect her hits. Not once did he try to hit her back. Instead he controlled his breathing and focused on her.

Her hits sped uplease and without calling on the force Dushall wouldn't have been able to keep up for long. The murky waves of the Force started to clear up and with little notice a warning blasted through him. He brought both hands down. Using the palms of his hands to deflect what he saw as a knee to the torso. Blocking the knee he was able to do but deflecting the force push that followed the knee he was not. The knee made contact with his palms and then his arms gave and connected with his torso as his muscles tightened to take the hit. The kinetic energy of the kick sent him into the air a couple feet. He flipped his head back and his body followed. Landing on his feet from the flip his hand rubbed his torso where the hit impacted.

The physical exertion from the fight was tiring him out, without calling on the force he would have been struggling in 10 minutes or so. But the effects were calming. He felt his physical self come in line with his spiritual self. It was a feeling he hadn't gotten from normal exercise or just meditation. "I see what you are talking about."

He looked up into the sky and soon could hear the engines of a transport shuttle making their way to the Temple. "I sense something in the force." He looked to the Jedi Kilala, "I suggest we make our way back."

Kilala smiled with satisfaction as the strength of her Force Push sent him flying off. You did what you had to to survive in a fight on Dathomir, and that meant using every inch of her body as a weapon in combat. Most nightsisters, and even Jedi, expected Force Pushes from hand gestures; not from elbows, feet, and knees. It gives her an always welcome advantage in combat.

However, she was getting tired too. A fine sheen of sweat covered her body and her muscles ached. It was obviously to her eyes that he was beginning to tire as well. But the fight was done, she had been calling heavily on the Force in addition to physical exertion.

She smiled at his thanks, "Always happy to help a fellow Jedi." She then too heard the sound of engines in the direction of the Temple.

"Lead the way," Kilala said to Dushall.
