There are many NGOS in Vietnam at the moment but if you are a student, want to contribute your energy for creating a better life in Vietnam. Don't be hesitate to join these following NGOs : 1. Operation Smile Viet Nam http://www.operationsmile.org.vn/ ![]() Operation Smile Vietnam is part of a global alliance of Operation Smile Foundations and Resource Chapters dedicated to providing free treatment to children and adults suffering from cleft lips and cleft palates. Operation Smile’s first Medical Mission to Vietnam took place in 1989. John Connor, a Vietnam War Veteran and friend of co-founder, Dr. Bill Magee, initiated the first Medical Mission to Vietnam. Through the invitation of General John W. Vessey Jr., a 38-member volunteer Medical team traveled to Hanoi and treated 100 Vietnamese children suffering from childhood facial deformities. In 1991, a volunteer network of Vietnamese medical professionals established Operation Smile Vietnam. For 20 years Operation Smile has been bringing hope to desperate Vietnamese children and their families, one smile at a time. There are many Vietnamese students has been non-medical volunteers for Operation Smile Vietnam in local and international missions for years 2. SJ Vietnam http://www.sjvietnam.org/ ![]() Solidarités Jeunesses Vietnam (SJ Vietnam) is an international youth NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) that promotes values of solidarity, peace and tolerance through youth citizenship projects to improve society during and after the voluntarism. It was set up in 2004 by international and Vietnamese volunteers with the coordination of Mr Pierre De Hanscutter and Miss Do Thi Phuc. SJ Vietnam is managed by and for young volunteers with the support of UNDP Vietnam at the beginning. SJ Vietnam is an independent Vietnamese branch of SJ France, a full member of CCVIS (UNESCO) and NVDA, a partner of YAP and Alliance. SJ Vietnam is an independent, non-political and non-religious organization open to everybody without any distinction of nationality, race, philosophy, financial resource, education or sex. In 2009, SJ Vietnam officially hosted 500 international volunteers and counted 3256 local members aged between 15 and 35 years old. 3. Volunteers for Peace Vietnam -VPV http://www.vpv.vn/index.php?lang=eng ![]() VPV is a non-profit organisation that was founded by a Mr Don Phuong in 2005. Since it’s creation it has provided great opportunities for over 1950 volunteers to help out local communities, schools and non-government organisations. We believe that providing a good way to help the local people in Vietnam is a means of moving social development forward and creating a great network of people who want to help wherever they can.
