The length of time a wax stain is left on clothing has no bearing on whether or not it stains. The trick is to remove as much wax as is possible before trying to iron it out onto a paper bag, paper towels, or an old, beat up tea towel. Even with these steps in place, it's really up to the pigment in your wax. Some pigments are extremely permanent and even though you may have removed most or all of the wax, the pigment permeated the clothing fibers and there's nothing you can do to get it out. I would suggest that you put an artsy patch over the stain. These days, no one will know that you have a colorful spot underneath it! |
