Hi Martine

I have got a regular Hotplate, its a glass topped salton hotplate, it has a temp control however it does have a hotspot. I use mine on a regular basis and can control the heat really well as I have got to 'know' the settings required for specific techniques and I have never had any problems with it, and I reckon you can pick them up for under £30 :thumbup;

Sal has used a food warmer that you put in the microwave too :thumbup;
