Poppy, Epson usually do work out much cheaper as the cartridges (compatibles of course) are much lower prices thanks to the volumes they make :thumbup; You can get little Epsons that are perfect for this kind of thing for about £25 so they're not too expensive to have as a secondary printer either ;) Of course, if you must have a card reader built in then the price will be higher :)
