I found out how to make a star with a gradual fade effect on the stripes, I just had to have a go at this! I had a good quantiy of very fine 1ply yarn that I really had no Idea what to do with, so I used it on this!
all you have to do is use 4 strands of one colour, make 3 rows and then at the join of the 3rd row, replace one strand with that of another colour, make one row, replace another strand ect and carry on untill you have swapped colours, make 3 rows of that colour and then start the change back! I am so pleased with the effect, its really easy to do as well! so I owe this one to a member on a US crochet site, a chap called Gene who makes the most beautiful things you have ever seen! ( yes, there are quite a few crochet blokes out there!) :D
