A group I belong to for sewing was given loads of wool and I mean WOOL! Someone had died and her son wanted rid of the sacks of wool. A lot was 4 ply for socks in every colour you could imagine, and there was even a bill - handwritten for 18/6 from 1961! I took a few balls and one is a lovely soft and fluffy white so I decided to knit a lacy collar to wear with a jacket instead of a scarf. I've knitted a few of the 12 row patterns but I'm a slow knitter! One day I'll add a photo when I'm done. I bet Catherine would have had a field day searching through the bags. What a shame as there were packets with 14 or 16 balls of wool never opened. It's just getting patterns for the unusual types of wool.
