Sorry i haven' t been on to say thanks Catherine and Jo.
I had a look on the link Catherine but no childrens arran patterns. But i have found one i had from 30 years ago, so i am adapting that one.
JO, yes the patterns ghaven't changed, but the length of welts and shape of the sweaters do change from generation to generation. The one i found is looking fine at the moment, i just have to adapt it here and there so it looks modern.
I have now almost finished the back of Jake's first one, it has now come out error free at last? It has been ages, years since i did any arran knitting, and i made a couple of wrong twists( unlike me honest) and i am a perfectionist where arran patterns are concerned.

When i was an avid knitter, i used to get most of my wool/yarn from woollen mills, i hadn't realised how little there are left nowadays?
DO either of you know where i could get wool/yarn from mills on cones, as i used to get years ago? The on i used to use was taken over by ready cut and they don' sell mill wool anymore? It's all designer stuff at inflated prices?LOL

This is the back of the sweater, too big to scan, and it is bleached out , but the colour is oatmeal and loooks really lovely. Prper picture when i have finished.
