Hi, girls! Another of my infamous brainwaves :D :

When a jigsaw has suffered the almost inevitable fate of lost pieces, why not use assembled sections on cards, in scrapbooks, or even to decorate boxes? A good jigsaw of, say, 1000 pieces or more could yield several sections. If you can't bring yourself to use your favourite ones, why not check in charity shops for incomplete ones? Or jumble sales/car boot sales/rummage sales/garage sales etc.?

Thinking aloud :D

Steve :)

That's a great idea! We usually have a big one going and the cats steal the peices. my cousin made a brooch with jigsaw peices. It was pretty cool.

Great idea Steve, you could write a letter on the back of a piece and spell out a persons name or occasion. A lot of my family are ardent jigsawers (is there such a word? lol) so that would make a novel greeting :D

My 4-H girls used jigsaw pieces to cover picture frames. After they were glued down, we gave them a quick spray with urethane and they looked very nice.

Great idea Steve, but................

You don't have to use the jig saw's original picture? Just paint over it with acrylic pearlised paint, let dry and then stamp onto the section of jig saw with a design of your choice. You can then colour it in. Looks good on baby cards.

For an original idea, stamp and chalk the design onto the card asa background first. Another idea , is to ink the stamp and the spritz it quickly , THEN stamp onto the background, keep on stamping to achieve depth. Then mount the jigsaw stamped area on top!

Hope this helps!

Poppy. :)
