A few years ago Reuben and a mate needed waistcoats (vests) a costume for a variety show they were in. I went to the remnant shop and picked up a quantity of cotton cloth with a thin layer of rubber on. I was able to make the waistcoats without hemming, no fraying. Anyway the point of this post, I purchased too much of this and have found it ideal for messy crafts as it wipes clean, is very forgiving and it flops over the edge of my lap board, meaning other people can sit on the sofa too. It was so much cheaper than the purpose made materials. I will leave it up to your own imaginations as to why it was manufactured in the first place, cos I haven't a clue.(as usual)
