I was wondering what kind of embellishments other people like to use. I am a metal junkie. If it's metal, I have probably tried it! :) From brad to eyelets, charms to plaques, I love metals.. :)

I tend to make my own embellies, roses etc but I can guarantee you if there is a hard way to do things I will find it.
A few years ago I went to a neighbouring town with a friend. We went into a fabric/ sewing shop. They had a bagain offer on studs to put on leather jackets, "fill a bag for £x". Yup I filled a bag, then used 6 of them on my leather jacket!!!!!!!. When trying to rationalise my craft/sewing room I found them. You know, with a firm enough surface underneath (to bend the grips) they work great on cards.
I've not yet seen 'bought' embellishments that really appeal to me, I'm strange.

:eyo: I'm with you Jenny, I like to make my own embellishments. Also like you, there have not been any on the craft scene that appeal to me. I hate overdone cards! lol
One of the first heartbreaking statements I say to my students when the arrive on my courses thinking they will be easy is;
If you are looking to make Quick and Easy cards, the doors that way! :r
I don't see the point in doing an easy Papercrafts course. I honestly think there is no satisfaction in 1 minute cards at all. Except the squashed roses, but then I make them do a decorative mini envelope and 3D mounting mat and they have to emboss the foliage as well. :groan
So, I make all my students make their own embellishments. And I'm very thorough too! We have a great laugh as well. :r :r

I like using Ribbon for embellishments. I do a lot of sewing, so I have tons of ribbon and lace. I use it for Christmas wrap instead of the plastic ribbon. It looks so rich. Even though I'm not rich. :r So I'm sure when I get around to making a card I will put ribbon or lace on it.

:eyo: I was thinking of ready made embellishments! doh!

Ribbon looks good on prezzies though. I use a lot of Florists Ribbon in card making.
