Sharon, I don't have a lot of patience like that, either, but it was a lot of fun (especially when my shoulders, neck, and back stopped aching ) Steve |

WOW!! It looks like it's about to sail out of the canvas! It reminds me of the last Narnia book where the portal to Narnia was the picture of the ship. Very cool. |

Steve, I've just shown this to my hubby and he thinks it's great. You have certainly put some work in to it, I love it.

Thanks folks Virginia, you didn't say you were a Narnia buff too! Our house is called "Cair Paravel"!
I wish I could paint ships like this! If I could, I'd probably make some of my own sheets too I managed a drawing of a clipper many years ago, but it was too flat
I don't think my eyesight's up to that kind of detail any more
Willow, glad you're hubby liked it It's a commercial sheet that should be available from most craft shops
http://www.hobby-tool.de/ might have something - you have to be patient with them as they often aren't accessible because of the demand on them

I am a huge Narnia buff. I reread the entire series at least once a year. Trev loves them too. I once opened the door of my big wardrobe and Trev was in there jsut sitting there..he was about five at the time.
Michael loves them too ~ noone ever read anything to him when he was little so when I was reading them to Trev< Michael started listening and it got him reading not only to Trev but for himself as well.

That's magical, Virginia A love of reading is so important! I really must hunt down my copies of the books! Somehow, I seem to get stuck, periodically, just rereading the same sets of books
It's much better when I can get out of that cycle
I must admit that I only really got fully into the Narnia Chronicles as an adult, after reading Lewis' science fiction books. I was very heavilly into sf and fantasy for years, but my tastes are a bit broader now
What's your favourite Narnia book? Mine's The Last Battle Steve |

Mine is the Lion , the Witch and The Wardrobe. I remember crying when I was little after reading the Last Battle because they were too old to go back to Narnia. In Colorado Springs by the side of the highway atop a hill there's a rock that looks just like the broken table. I always wanted a photo of it but you're not allowed to stop there! I saw the trailer for the Narnia movie I am hoping they dont' muck it up but it looks interesting! I haven't looked forward to a movie for ages so we shall see! |

I must admit that I like what I've seen of the trailers
Still feel very wary, though, after what was done to the Lord of the Rings
Very spectacular but very inaccurate! I don't mind having pieces removed for time reasons, but actually changing the story completely is out of order!Steve |

I know I am so glad to see someone else noticed that, everyone else loved it to bits! I didnt' bother seeing the last two in the theatres, we rented them when they came out instead. |

Damien gets just as annoyed and frustrated with the Harry Potter movies Jenny can separate books from movies without comparing them, most of the time, but then nobody's attempted to make any movies of Anne McCaaffrey's Pern books
![]() I really can't understand how these film makers can claim to be huge fans of an author and then do so much waffle and nonsense to "enhance" the original! Perhaps they should all be subjected to having a biopic made about them before they're allowed near the director's/screenwriter's/producer's chair?!
That'd teach them to be more caring about portraying the real stories! Steve |
