I have added 4 new pics to my gallery. Remember I'm still just doodling. No Di Vinci's yet. :r :r

I'd clean every day with a rag mop like that! It's like a lovely fuschia flower. Well done.

Thank you Jo. :r I wasn't really sure what to call it, I was just doodling and it looked like my dust mop at work. :r :r My hubby said it looked like dred-locks :r

You are really galloping now, Mardar :thumbup; I agree that your "mop" is very floral, and the last pic looks so much like a Japonica or Camelia flower! Fantastic!

Yep Anne, Wax and a stylus to heat it and spread it on cardboard.

Thanks everyone. My favorite is the black and white one. It started out upside down, and as I turned it over I could see what looked like an old man with his arms raised in the center. He looked a bit angry, so I thought he was brewing up some dark clouds for a winter storm. lol The things I see in wax. :groan :r :r :r

:D OH MY!

'Ribbons is absolutely WONDERFUL! So vibrant! Are you kidding us when you said you were a beginner? I loved the flower and mop too. Old Man Winter creeped me out a bit though, but it is good all the same! Maria xx

What kind words from you mifmif. I have just now seen your BEAUTIFUL cards in your gallery. You are an absolutely wonderful artist. Those are so well constructed subjects. Your detail is fantastic!!!!!!! I must carry on to try and reach your level of art. I know the pictures are not nearly as beautiful as the real thing. FANTASTIC.
:r yes "old man winter" picture is a bit creepy. I was trying to do something in just black wax because I like the look of block prints. It was just a doodle, but it was fasinating to work with just one color. Hope I don't give you nightmares with my silly art. :r :r :r Thank you again for the kind words, they mean a lot to this budding artist (or doodler) :D

Anne you know you want to try this. Just don't burn your fingers like I did. :r

Don't sell yourself short, Mardar ;) You're a natural! :thumbup; One question though: based on the title of this thread, are you waxing on a slave galley or in a ship's kitchen? :r

Thank-you for your praise Mardar! Actually, I just uploaded some more. You talking about working in one colour in Old Man Winter made me remember one I did a while back of a Nazgul from Lord of the Rings. I put him in my gallery. Between your Man Winter and my Black Rider, we'll be having nightmares for weeks!

Although I have painted virtually all my life, I've only been waxing since January this year. You will soon be creating even more wonderful pictures than the ones you show here. 'Ribbons' is the best work of abstract I have seen in ages! You should feel very proud of yourself!

Incidentally, for everyone who wants to buy one (or anything to do with E/A for that matter) the stylus I bought cost about £25. You can get all the equipment from this chap at
http://www.waxes.co.uk/. He's very reliable....I buy most of my stuff from him! Maria x

Mardar, your mop would look beautiful with a little bit of work to make it into a flower! You are 3/4 way there already. Just flick out with the stylus micro tip or drawing tip to get more petals, then flick down with dk green for the leaves and stem.. They are coming on great guns!!
Poppy. :hug: :hug:

Sorry Steve I get so excited that I just type all kinds of mistakes. My spelling is bad too. :r :r Hope everyone can understand me. :r :r :r Its really my galley at home. :r :r I'm such a silly!!! :r

Thank you mifmif and Poppy. Your feedback is very much welcome. I am having just the greatest time with this art form. :hug: :hug: :hug:

PS mifmif I just looked at your Nazgul and I love it!!! I have a dark side I guess because I do like rather dark art work. :thumbup; :thumbup;

Mardar,

Just doodling ehhhhhhhhh? You must be kidding :r

This is GREAT stuff!!
I love your mob-flower!!!!

Today I tried my first flower with my iron but it finished up in thin bin :D
Maybe I'll have a go with my styler tomorrow.
If it's only going to be half as beautifull as yours I'm going to upload it.

Thank you so much heidi. That is so nice of you. I am a very "new" newbie to this so I still think of my things as doodles. :r I'm having just a great time working in wax. It is so much different than anything I have tried before. :ta: :hug: :hug:

:groan anne I know just how you feel but I am going to have to look into this more. I just won't let the hubby know for awhile. :blush: If he sees me buying stuff for something new to do he will probably stay out on the road all of the time.

Mardar, you're doing great! :thumbup;
I just joined the site so I don't know how long you have been waxing, but one can sure see your talent with shapes and colours!

And your rag mob really is almost a flower, like Poppy said. :ta:

Mifmif, your Nazgul gives me the creeps :ph43r: , well done my friend!

And Anneclair: I'm sure you will be spellbound be Encaustic before soon, like many of us. Hopefully I will be able to upload some Encaustic pictures soon to entice you even more!

Thea
