It is funny to watch the ads try to keep up with what we are talking about. Sometimes I think we blow their little minds.

Hello Maria, In reponse to your post, I'm doing a little experiment! I play the Adwords roulette game sometimes (I mean i actually post adverts with Google Adwords) ; I'm quite lucky really that we have that unusual word, encaustic, so it's quite easy to appear in the list of ads (for encaustic queries) without actually spending a fortune. Seeing this topic the other day, as a little experiment, I put "waxing" (hadn't bid on it before for obvious (bikini) reasons) as one of my keywords and offered to pay 5p everytime the ad was clicked (this is how adwords works) trying to see if MY encaustic ad would appear on this forum; as far as I know it hasn't? I've tried putting my bid up to 20p per click now but my www.waxes.co.uk ad still don't seem to be appearing! I wonder how high I'd have to bid. |

That's right Jenny - please don't click! (Unless you feel like being unkind to me) If you want to find me, most waxers know the direct route! My little experimental ad has actually been shown somewhere in response to some sort of "waxing" query, 332 times this month so far but no-one has clicked on it - thank goodness! |

Now we have a whole new game Spot Barry's ad
For the uninitiated it would be for Wakes Waxes, I assume? No clicking on it! In fact, I think there's at least three links in CraftBoard, plus if you click on the WWW button at the bottom of any of Barry's posts, you'll find your way to his site

Steve, Thanks for that! I try not to promote my little business too much on forums; I don't wish to appear intrusive. If my "waxing" ad does pop up it would read.... Encaustic Wax Blocks 48 colours. Only 90p each. Any quantity. Down to 85 p each for 40+ www.waxes.co.uk so I don't think I'm likely to get many clicks from the "bikini-waxing" lot - can't see why they'd be intersted in coloured wax but you never know! |

![]() You're part of the family, Barry, so promote away I'm sure many would be interested in any "special offers" you might be doing at times, too
As for the bikini waxers - you could start a whole new fashion ![]() Steve |

Jenny, Perhaps Steve was thinking about painting coloured wax on in the SHAPE of a bikini? Thereby decimating the swimwear industry! |
