Beautiful. I love them both the foxgloves and bullrushes are stunning, I could look at that all night! I was thinking of getting some wax etc for Christmas, but I know I'd never achieve such pieces of beauty so would become disheartened and they'd lie in a drawer unused.

Aww thany-you everyone.Right, first things first... Jo.....don't ever think you are not capable of doing something like this! All you need is self-confidence, and that builds with practice. It's like everything.....you can't be expected to be able to do it straight off, but I can tell you, with waxing it all comes very quickly! My 89 yr old mum even has a go! So I reckon you should go buy a set and see what happens! My guess is that you will be turning out some wonderful work within a week or two! Honest! Poppy.....I thought of you when I named this, but actually, there was a place up in Norfolk at the end of the 1800's that was known as Poppyland, though I don't think it looked anything like this (being on the coast!) but the name always stuck in my mind. I LOVE seeing fields of poppys, though...and my guess is you are there in that picture somewhere, if only in spirit! Anyway, I do thank all of you for such lovely comments. I feel quite humble! Maria x

Stunning landscapes superbly realised, Maria Well worth branching out for these
Jo, Maria's right! It's amazing how quickly you get the hang of these things! Waxing is just about the fastest art to learn and succeed in Steve |

WOW - the perspective in Poppyfield is amazing - when it comes into vision - it kinda makes you jump - cos you're suddenly looking way into the horizon. Brilliant. Then, as a contrast Foxgloves makes you feel all relaxed. How lovely. |
