I wanted to see whether I could get the same amount of fine detail in an A6 as I can in an A5, the idea being to make some fairy greetings cards for the next fair I'm doing soon.

Anyway, I messed up the first one (she looked more like an old witch than a fairy! ) so I had another bash and this was the result. I wanted to show the wings off. Unfortunately you can't see the silver glinting away..shows up grey in scans, but this really catches the light as you move it.

I painted most of it with the iron, and used the stylus for the detail and scribed out the highlights.

Another beauty, Maria :thumbup; Wonderful detail achieved. I guess the waxers here are fortunate in being able to imagine the actuality rather than a photograph/scan of wax, which never does it justice :)

Thank-you everyone! This actually took less time than I thought it would...about an hour or so, which is about the same as if I'd done an A5. The main framework takes seconds, compared with all the flowers! They took most of the hour to do, as did the wings. I'm very pleased with her anyway. Hopefully she is the first of several flower fairy cards. Maria x
