On create and craft tonight I saw someone ink a stamp and put velvet paper ontop of the stamp then HEAT IT with an ENCAUSTIC IRON to heat set the ink!
Watch your iron Stevie baby, that's all I can say! :r :r
It was VERY effective.

Ah, but a genuine crafter is very crafty! They'll get to it by any means, by hook or by crook. :r :r :r

:r :r :r Poppy I have been going through old posts. I have watch Mary ONeil on TV several times and she is famous for stamping on velvet with a stamp and hot iron. She uses acrylic velvet. There would be some tuts on the "Carol DuVal" site. That is on the HGTV channel but go to their web site. It is an awesome outcome.

No problem... I love watching her and that iron of hers. She said there should be no holes in the bottom of the iron. No steam. Just spritz the wrong side of the velvet lightly and place on top of the rubber stamp that is going to be used and press with the iron. The results are wonderful.
