I have complained on several occasions to Google about the content, on occasion, of the ads which appear on here. This is the latest reply:

AdWords Support
<adwords-support@google.com> to me

Hello,

Thank you for your email. AdWords Specialists review all of the ads that appear on Google.com and the Google Network. Ads are categorized as 'Family Safe,' 'Non-Family Safe,' or 'Adult,' depending on the content of the ad and website. Google does not permit ads that are classified as 'Non-Family Safe' or 'Adult' to appear for users who have activated their Safe-Search filter. To ensure that only 'Family Safe' ads appear, we suggest that you change your preferences.

To edit your Google Safe-Search filter preference, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to www.google.com
2. Click 'Preferences' to the right of the Search Box.
3. Scroll down to 'Safe Search Filtering.' Make sure you have selected the option labeled 'Use strict filtering (Filter both explicit text and explicit images)'
4. Click the 'Save Preferences' button below when you are done making changes.

Please note, the Safe-Search filter is not yet available for all search languages, so you may not see this option.

If you have additional questions, please visit our Help Center at https://adwords.google.com/support to find answers to many frequently asked questions. Or, try our Learning Center at http://www.google.com/adwords/learningcenter/ for self-paced lessons that cover the scope of AdWords.

We look forward to providing you with the most effective advertising available.

Sincerely,

Tuyen
The Google AdWords Team

This isn't really satisfactory, but unless we pay for ad removal (which is based on bandwidth in terms of how much it would cost!), there is no other option than for each member to decide on whether or not to adjust their Google settings :(

At least you've tried Steve. I've no children in the house so the adverts don't really bother me and I'll only click on them if I'm interested- like Poppy seeds! :r

I actually have a parental lock on and sometimes have had to suspend it to look at someones Gallery!

It could become expensive if you have to pay to stop certain adverts. I think it is really up to everyone to decide for themselves and set their settings accordingly.

That's my view others may differ. :huggy:  :huggy:

I agree with Jo on this one Steve. We are and should be responsible for what we click. But sometimes my mouse has a life all of it's own, it flies off and clicks things sometimes. Does anyone else have that problem, or is it just me with an unruly mouse????? :r :r :r
:xho:
Poppy.
Just a thought, Are there clever adverts that can make our mouses fly off and click on them?????

 You tried and that's the important thing. There are some good ones, I clicked on one and found out how to make that chandelier I bought at a craft sale for far less then I paid for it! :groan
The ones in the cooking section often lead to great recipes too so I dont' mind the ads at all, the majority of them seem to be good. :)
Poppy you're too funny! The other day I had two screens up couldnt' figure out why one keep popping up in front of the other, then I realised I had one a bit smaller and I kept accidentally hitting the one that I wanted in the back! I was driving myself crazy and since there's only 16 days left I dont' need to be driving myself crazy! :ph43r: :xh:

Caught you, Virginia :P :r :r Still counting down, eh? ;)

I agree, many of the ads are great :thumbup; It's just the "chat" ones and such I'd rather not have appearing :(

Poppy I think you should type out 100 lines " I must be careful with my clicking finger!"
If you're clever you could type once. paste and click to your hearts content!

Or perhaps teach your mouse how to obey you!! :r :r
