I don't know where to put this - my first venture into showing my crafts on here.
As it is basically pieces of paper stuck down I chose here.
About 3' x 4' occasional table - husband did the woodwork and I spent a couple of months tearing up bits of wallpaper for the design. When finished I used clear satin varnish, a coat a day til the tin was used up - about 10 coats. This is my kind of craft - something for nothing (next to). Hope you like it (Hope I can manage to get photo to appear) Sorry about the quality of photo I only have an old webcam - not ideal I know.
Al lthe torn up pieces of paper are about half inch square and most of patterned paper sorted into shades of colour.

Carol, first of all, yes that is decoupage! Decoupage doesn't have to have the 3d effect created by the use of foam pads or silicone. It's the application of paper to create an image on another surface :) In fact, of course, you've followed a harder route by creating the image as a mosaic, but the definition holds true :D

This is a truly beautiful piece of art :art: Great teamwork too :thumbup;

Steve :)

That is wonderful and as a joint project I'm sure will bring you both lots of pleasure. I used to find it hard to understand what decoupage was and although most people do 3D this I believe was the original style.

Well done. You could do that on trays, boxes etc.

Thanks everyone - it does actually look like real tiles - its surprising how much thickness the wallpaper adds - you don't end up with a completely flat surface. :wave:
