I agree totally Damo. Whomever the winner is it is Mardar who deserves all the honors. Some who don't quilt really don't know how many hours goes into a creation like that . Mardar, My hat is off to you.

I had forgotten when the draw was to take place. I know Mardar had a few more (probably thousands !) stitches to put in. She is amazing to find time for such a project at this time of year. A truly wonderful prize. I never win in raffles so it won't be me . but some craftboarder will be absolutely delighted.
Thank you Mardar.

OK folks we have a winner Here is the list I made back before Christmas. I just added names randomly. It has been sitting beside my computer waiting for a number from Damo and you can all see who is number three(3) ![]() to STEVE!!!!! I will be sending the quilt out on Friday to you Steve After I take some more pictures of the finish product outside in the sunlight. (If we get any today lol It's been gloomy here.) I have to tell you all it was a pleasure to work on this quilt and all the fabric is very special and wonderful. We will try next time to start a lot earlier though. Please! But wait I have a little surprise for everyone!!!! You are all going to recieve a fabric magnet made just by me for all the wonderful contestants. So everyone will have a small gift to remember the great times we have had on the board this year. You are all truly winners in my book.

Steve it was all fair and square. We all had a block in it and the list I made was sitting here since before Christmas waiting for Damo to post me a number from across the pond. And that was the number. So the quilt is yours. I'm sure we will have lots more contests in the coming year that will get everyone excited. And we will have many more winners.
Don't forget everyone that sent me fabric is getting a magnet as a small consalation (?spelling) prize. I would also like to thank everyone for being part of our first ever Craftboard community project. It was loads of fun. You are all just great!

Awww, shucks I know it was all fair and square, Mardar, but I still feel terribly guilty I did have a thought, though ( :rolleyes everybody ) : In the Annual Community Project, it might be nice if it works on the idea of each year, the possible winners reduce until everyone has won? Of course, if more people participate, it might take a while
Just a thought for you all to consider
You might also like to know that I've got something planned for a little later in the new year, not exactly a competition, but keep an eye open for it Somebody will be made very happy

Congratulations Steve! You really do deserve it. It will be a fantastic lap quilt for your scooter, keep your nether regions warm! (toes, what do ya think I meant)? No redraw needed at all!!! Thankyou so much Mardar, Now I am worried about postage? Should we all send something to contribute to it? Or should I have sent some with my fabric??? Mardar the magnets sound brilliant, look forward to getting one, Antiques Roadshow here we come in a few years time. Poppy.
It's snowing here Jenny !!!!

All covered in confuddlement and warm-fuzzies all for being so kind and generous ![]() I'm not sure about all this talk of harems (Jo) and nether regions (foot fetishist Poppy) I suspect the quilt will find a very proud and fitting place on display on a wall Steve ![]() |
